The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

... but surely if ov happens late then the egg just gets made and comes out later so it wouldn't actually be 'old'? Does it get made and then sit in there for a few days with a glass of red?! Doesn't it know there's work to be done?!!
I am so ignorant of how things work...

I wm not going to resort to Twixing just yet - I usually know when I have just ov'd. Jumped DH just in case last night :o i have the problem of not knowing exactly when CD1 is - i don't get ertd all of a sudden, full blast - it comes on very slowly with, ahem, a bit of a brown-ness for a few days but i count from the first day of anything 'cos that makes it a 28 day cycle to the dot most months. Anyone else get this?

(sticks shag cape in washing machine on speedy
cycle)

crowette · 30/08/2010 13:23

Hallo lovely ladies :)

Had a week of JSing here, now on the 2ww and symptom spotting like crazy - which I told myself I'd NOT do, d'oh!!

Had bit of tummy ache last night, sort of period cramps at times but also a bit like wind Blush boobs feel heavy and achey when I take off my bra and I've got spots, which I only ever get a couple of days before AF (which is not due til 11th)

I'm blaming it on you lot, the madness has rubbed off on me Grin

HarderToKidnap · 30/08/2010 19:46

Yes, milano, I have the same! I count from the red bleeding, not sure why.

Since I had my coil removed I have had a 19 day cycle, a 28 dayer and a 37 dayer. I Twixed positive yesterday (day 16) so thinking about testing in 2 weeks (day 30) unless ERTD shows up beforehand, Good plan or should I leave it longer?

cowboylover · 30/08/2010 20:06

I think maybe give it a little longer to be sure as they can be so inacurate to early and it can be heartbreaking to get a negitive then a week later to get that positive!

I ovulated (I think) and started JS from there but maybe to late but having fun anyway x

takethatlady · 30/08/2010 22:23

milano apparently it can mean that the eggs aren't maturing properly (so they get released late) or that they're over-mature by the time they're released. So I have a uterus like corked wine or blue cheese, I guess, when what I need is a nice mature Cheddar.

Or it can mean that the endometrium is too old to provide enough nutrition for the blastocyst and it won't implant properly/remain implanted for long. The words I'm learning are ridiculous!

BrassicaBabe · 31/08/2010 10:44

Morning All.

A new week. A new JS opportunity! Grin

There is a scarey amount of biology on this thread Wink This TTC lark properly fucks with your mind doesn't it?! Grin

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 11:16

Morning everyone.

Have just been catching up, my you've all been busy! I have inadvertantly missed the beginning of best time to JS, sunday was an oversight, but yesterday I fully intended to but DH wouldn't as it was 'planned' and he doesn't like to do it when it's planned, so I had to explain to him that seeing as I can only get pg at a certain time every month, we can't really not plan it. So don't be expecting a BFP from me in 2 weeks! Anyway, I am dusting off the shag cape tonight whether he likes it or not (wink wink, nudge nudge).

milanomum · 31/08/2010 11:24

(nods knowingly at scientific words trying to look like she gets it)

I definitely ovd on day 12 as last night I had sore boobs(therefore finished ov-ing) so we've definitely got the timing right this month - didn't think i ovd that early - seems my idea about shagging non-stop from day 10 works :) well...at least in theory. 2ww here i am! (resolves not to go mental)

milanomum · 31/08/2010 11:27

Josie -my dh had no idea of when the timing is right - i don't tell him - he just gets more sex than usual :o
I am not sure if dh even realises we are ttc (whistles innocently) he doesn't get the biology enough to understand. He just knows that I could get pregnant and we might have a 2nd child. I think they have trouble handling it all... weaklings.

baby2b · 31/08/2010 12:42

I agree milanomum, my dh very rarely refuses the chance of jsing so I don't tell him the important days any more. Grin In the first month of ttc I did tell him and it was too much pressure [sad willy icon]

Harder I would try and wait a little longer before testing, but it's easier said than done.

Takethat when is your doctors appointment and what are the next steps likely to be?

Quick general question ladies...what are your thoughts on trying to lose a bit of weight whilst trying to conceive? I'm not normally a dieter, but I already look pregnant at the moment! Grin

takethatlady · 31/08/2010 12:42

Hint taken brassica Wink

De-biologising over here, though still doing an alarming amount of mucus inspection Blush.

Last day of school summer holidays for DH, so I've got to shag him pronto. Unfortunately a combination of Fifa and the Playstation is making him less than susceptible to my charms. Just had a shower. Going to drop my towel in a minute and see what happens.

I'll let you know!

takethatlady · 31/08/2010 12:44

Oops, cross-posted baby2b. Nice to see you!

Going to see if I ovulate before CD20 (am on CD14). If not, I'll make the appointment. I'm hoping I can join the Clomid brigade. I hear they've got the sexiest shag capes Grin

baby2b · 31/08/2010 12:51

Fingers crossed for some delux eggs being released before then. Hope the towel dropping works, those computer games are as good as contraception, lol.

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 13:00

Ha ha Milano, that sounds like my DH too! I have tricked him into plenty of JSing tried to just seem more ?up for it? recently, but thought if he knew it was the right time he?d want to do it more to make sure we get the best chance, but obviously I was wrong. I think part of it was that I quite fancied being jumped by him for a change, instead of it always being me Grin

Oh Baby2b, we haven?t had that problem yet but if I keep pushing it (not like that Blush) you never know! So I figured I?d just don the shag cape and jump him every night this week him and not mention it again and he might conveniently forget that I?ve planned it all!

JosieSmith1 · 31/08/2010 14:43

Right. DH has been told that if he wants to get me pg he better get at it, whether he likes it or not. Grin

So I've texted him at work and told him that we need to do it this week if we want a fighting chance. He said he understands that but it's not fun when it's planned. So I told him (sorry if TMI) that's bull and the minute I touch his whatsits (though I didn't use that word in my text) it'll be fun, planned or not. He agreed and said he needed to hide at work as even using the words set him off Blush

So now we're both on the same wavelength I've told him we are donning the shag cape tonight whether he likes it or not Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 31/08/2010 14:50

Grin good work Josie!

baby2b · 31/08/2010 14:53

Hi nomore, how are you?

Josie I'm very impressed! Grin

milanomum · 31/08/2010 14:57

go on Josie! (does little cheerleading dance)

b2b after lounging around all summer I look about 5 months pregnant too. I'm usually a size 10 to 12 and i know it'll drop off once i'm at work again but I'm hoping no one will ask me if i'm pregnant tomorrow at work...

I used it as an excuse to buy new, drapey clothes today and actually didn't buy a lovely pair of jeans because i said to myself " i won't get the wear out of them if i get pregnant soon" Hmm

takethat is obviously getting some towel action! Wink

BrassicaBabe · 31/08/2010 15:04

I don't mind the biology talk takethat, I was just struggling to keep up Wink

Nice approach Josie Grin My DH also "feels the pressure to perform". I was sprining the window on him with too short notice. Now I text him with the dates about a week in advance so he can get his head around to the idea.

Day 2 of colmid and I've not turned into a hormonal bitch yet. So maybe this will be a smooth ride.

baby2b · 31/08/2010 15:04

milanomum I think we have similar professions :) I bought a couple of drapey tops at the weekend, slightly worried that none of my work clothes will fit - eek! I have been avoiding buying too many new things for the past 6 months, but think I will try reverse pyschology and start buying clothes again. Grin

baby2b · 31/08/2010 15:05

Cross posted with you Brassica. Good luck on the clomid xx

BrassicaBabe · 31/08/2010 15:10

I'm going to have to go into the office more often. Working from home and ttc is driving me bonkers. Proper, certifiable, dribbling, rocking backwards and forwards in a corner bonkers!!!
Grin

30andMerkin · 31/08/2010 15:10

You're all bloody daft in here... I go away for a few days and you start peeing on Twixes and drinking wine out of mugs!

ROFLing at the [sad willy emotion]. And loving the Bank Holiday special bonus lie-ins for JSing here!

BrassicaBabe · 31/08/2010 15:14

pmsl @ 30

Yes, [sad willy emotion] made me laugh proper too. Glad it doesn't just visit my house!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 31/08/2010 15:15

Hi yourself B2B I'm well, if completely slightly impatient waiting for friday and a complete lack of AF. Thank goodness my "ww is only 9 days long or I'd be a mess!

I've been to scared to tell DH what days we need to SWI on, but last week when he tried to refuse I confessed that it was ov day and he complied (after I promised him a few days off).

I also went through the faze of buying clothes 'I could wear pg' until I realised that wasn't good motivation to lose weight before pg and I'd have no clothes for post pg.
