The 'rules'

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday. Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended)

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at ever opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Resist the lure of ovulation predictor kits, Taking Control of Your Fertility and the dreaded First Repsonse. Knowing where you are in your cycle is entirely permissible though!

Going to the doctor is permitted if you've had a stupidly long cycle but beware of the dildo-cam-scan.

Keep acronmyage to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

I'm frickkin normal! ARGH! Normal blood, normal dildo-cam. No early menopause, no PCOS. Don't get me wrong, am extremely grateful for this but now it's officially 'unexplained'.

Still, lovely doc said we can wait a few more months as it could just be coming off the pill STILL screwing with me or he can refer me to a gynae. Took the gynae route as I clearly have some Twilight fantasy thing going on what with the removal of blood and, er, not hugely sure where I was going with that. Maybe I am subconsciously proud of my bits and am just trying to find a ligetimate (sp?) way of showing it to as many people as possible, inside and out

Also took the private route, even then my appt isn't until 12 July. I do have another consultant's number so may whore myself out to the person who can see me first! To top it all, DH out getting pissed after day at the cricket! Grrrrrr-ness!

BrassicaBabe · 30/06/2010 20:42

Wow, loads going on around here.

Welcome to the whole lot of newbies! No digressing from the rules remember, otherwise frakkit comes and slaps your legs

PMSL @ takethat and hormonal ebay problems. But big congrats for AF. Yeah! You never know, maybe you are going to settle down to nice 28 day cycles now...

Sorry you are normal vallinna Seriously, it must be really frustrating not to have an answer. At least something wrong is something you can put your finger on. I'd have done the same as you and gone for the referral. 12 days isn't tooo far now.

I'm doing time on 2WW at the moment. Mentalness of previous few days has passed. AND mentalness at the time didn't extend to buying thermometers or anything else - honest. No really, it didn't.

(Catching Eastenders in the background. That's the name Lilly out for all and sundry who don't want to be associated with a soap for ever more)

DH is out for a curry with the boys tonight. So there will be no JSing for me! He'll come back full of curry and beer and snore all night!

takingtheplunge · 30/06/2010 20:50

what an arse, vanilla! But at least there's nothing seriously wrong...AF will turn up at a spectacularly inconvenient time no doubt involving white trousers and public speaking or some such.

Not been any JSing here for a while as I've been working quite a lot and I've been knackered

Bored of 2ww and it's only been about 3 days. doesn't bode well for ttc really does it, if I'm bored in the first month?

BrassicaBabe · 30/06/2010 20:59

taking what cd are you on etc? You sound like you are in a similar spot to me doing time in the 2ww. I'm cd 20 with AF due 10th July. Can we share in the mentalness?!

takingtheplunge · 30/06/2010 21:05

Hi Brassica, AF due around 11th July, so very similar. Don't really know when or if I ovulated, and periods are reasonably regular but not like clockwork. We haven't managed a huge amount of JSing this month in ttc terms I don't think, although did most of the JSing we did do mid cycle.
Really want to hold off til AF due or late, which means waiting til 11th at the very earliest. Not very good at waiting...find it boring.
What about you?

BrassicaBabe · 30/06/2010 21:22

After last months mentalness I'm holding out testing this month. So it's the 10th for me. We managed a "could do better" during The Window for JSing I think.

almostknockedupgirl · 30/06/2010 23:05

Hello ladeez! Goodness, I love this thread.

BrassicaBabe and takingtheplunge I'm at the same place you are, with my period due July 9th or 10th. So glad I have some other folks to hold my sweaty hands!

And though I said I'd never symptom spot, I might have already gone slightly mental. [Eats own words. Mmm, tasty.]

vallinnapod, I love your attitude. Here's hoping you don't have to pull too many tricks before you see a gynae who can sort you out!

Crikey gormers, that's some shagging dedication. We just went at it when we felt like, which seems to have averaged out at about every other day. Let's hope that's enough, or we shall be very shagged out next month. Which isn't the plan...

A million hurrahs for knowing where you're at, with a fresh start takethatlady! Also for a drunken night out -I could use one of them!

Hello to everyone who's recently joined! [waves] Happy shagging to all of you! oh and I definitely dusted myself off and got Brazilianed up at the start of this month. Easier shag + a very eager husband = win/ win scenario for sure!

Right, I'm off to continue enjoying our staycation-shagathon. Morning sex... Love it...

takethatlady · 30/06/2010 23:23

vallinna that's brilliant annoying news. I bet straight after AF finally shows up you'll end up knocked up with triplets or something!

Jealous of all you ladies due on the 10th! I was in last month's test-fest (took it a bit to heart, having done about 30 tests, a blood test, and telling 4 people I'm pregnant when I'm not by mistake ) - but I've gone out of sync with it now. You guys should do another one though - it was exciting last time!

I do NOT want a 28 day cycle this time unless my DH can pack me in his suitcase to China, or leave some viable sperm in the fridge.

vallinna and brassica, I reckon in the spirit of JS you've gotta take the curry breath and the snoring and make them do it anyway! (On Pant Snot Day last month I got very drunk, DH was sober, and I walked past him wiggling my bum after he picked me up. He said 'nice bum', and I came inside our house, stripped off - falling over my own tights - and said 'if you want my bum come and get it', and then tripped up the stairs running away. If he can do the deed after that I reckon you guys can pull it off tonight!)

Well done almostknockedup and gormers. Excellent job!

BrassicaBabe · 01/07/2010 00:15

Well, despite being knackered I've been to bed and immediately got up again. Sometimes you just know you're not ready to sleep. DH was snoring within seconds. I can hear him snoring from downstairs!

This might be a sign of the mentalness setting in, but more likely down to living in amongst (you have no idea how close and how many!) DHs family who are lovely but are everywhere with their preconceived ideas and conventions. I'm like the hard boiled egg being squished into one of those oblong shape mould Hey-ho.

Yeah for Test Fest II. Sorry you won't be there to take part takethat. You are now in a stand alone glory spot

Feck! Is anyone else still up?

vallinnapod · 01/07/2010 07:48

takethat too damn funny! I love how much more alluring we believe we are after a few. Fine if DH has been out with you too and just hilarious otherwise!

As for the triplet comment...crosses legs and contemplates never shagging again

BrassicaBabe · 01/07/2010 11:32

Morning..

I spotted this on a thread eleswhere:

The percentages of those who get their BFPs on set dpo are as follows:
10dpo=35%
11dpo=51%
12dpo=62%
13dpo=68%
14dpo=74%
15dpo=80%
16dpo=88%
17dpo=92%

I thought it fitted nicely with the "don't worry, just shag" ethos to our thread and that some might find it helpful

Dellywyn · 01/07/2010 12:41

Hello all, I'm a new Mumsnetter who is just days away from throwing that nasty ol'contraception in the bin and throwing my legs in the air (that last bit in the privacy of my bedroom thanks!).
Am very scared about making the grown up desicion of going to the Dr and having the plug (as hubby charmingly calls it) removed, as ds just happened with no forethought or planning.
Wish me luck!

vallinnapod · 01/07/2010 14:18

Yay! The whoring worked! Am seeing a different gynae on Monday 5th. A whole 7 days less stress

I can't believe I forgot to tell you guys the first one (who I am now not seeing) was called Prof. Finger! I actually said "REALLY?!" when the insurance company suggested his name and then picked him purely for comedy value - surely the JS spirit?

Any who, the one I am now seeing is terribly boringly named but her consulting rooms are opposite my old school! I may mention it was the very place I was told you would end up pregnant if you so much as look at a boy. Dirty liars!

Bizarre coincidence!

takethatlady · 01/07/2010 14:33

PMSL at Professor Finger vallinna! If that's his method no wonder you're not pg yet!

Brassica at those numbers! 17dpo! Not only are vallinna's old teachers dirty liars but so are the people who write the packaging on the First Response! I have 3 cheapies left in my drawer and I'm not buying any more after last month. Information is not enough. I cannot be trusted alone with a stick. I will just pee on it and then beat myself up with it, over and over again. Doing anything other than JSing is clearly just pee-soaked masochism!

Welcome Dell. Good luck with the unplugging! When is it?

takethatlady · 01/07/2010 14:34

Oh and congrats vallinna! That's great news

takingtheplunge · 01/07/2010 15:09

great news vanilla roffle at prof finger!
Sounds unpleasant takethat beating yourself with little wee-soaked sticks
Just managed a quick afternoon JS, purely for sex's sake as must be waaaaay past fertile period now. Sorry is that TMI? .
I have to say, this JS is great! I am having some of the best sex ever!
Will slope off and stop bragging now.

BrassicaBabe · 01/07/2010 15:43

lol @ takethat's "pee soaked masochims"!!

Nice one vallinna. That's Monday coming. Not long at all! What time? Then we can all lurk and wait for your update! Did you manage to get health insurance to cover the appointment?

Prof Finger! Sounds like the type of doctor who turns up in the pages of the Daily Mail for doing bad things! (Allegedly )

Of course getting pregnant for looking at boys wouldn't be half as much fun!

for taking managing to squeeze in an afternoon shag! Was it the super-hero cape that swung it?!

BrassicaBabe · 01/07/2010 15:44

Welcome Dell too!

takingtheplunge · 01/07/2010 15:56

nah...just have to say "fancy a shag?" to DH and he's got his trousers half off!

JustKeepSwimming · 01/07/2010 16:02

PMSL at you lot

Hi Dell

Nothing doing here yet, still only CD29 (out of poss 35 day cycle), according to those stats i could go for a 51-49% chance test, luckily still non in the house

vallinnapod · 01/07/2010 16:40

brassica - yep, health insurance covers it as at the mo it is diagnostic. I say covers it, I have an excess of £175 which is probably going to be the cost of the consultation! The insurers did say that nothing to do with infertility is covered, as I expected - although don't get me started as I am not sure why, I realise you don't die from it but you don't die from tonsillitus and they covered my tonsillectamy!

Still, will hopefully not need to cross that bridge!

takethatlady · 02/07/2010 07:40

Hello ladies,

Went for a couple of drinks last night with some people from work. I had two glasses of wine and somehow that made me disgustingly drunk! Throwing up, raiding the fridge for sausages, losing the power of speech. Then I saw my boss was on Question Time being all sober and clever. Felt like a doofus.

lol at taking's DH with his trousers round his ankles

Stay away from the tests swimming! I reckon 14dpo is fair game for testing, but not before (says she who tested from 7dpo last month ... ). What do other people think is the benchmark for non-mental testing?

vallinna you won't need the insurance for infertility, I'm sure. Fingers crossed it's just the post-pill craziness and it will sort itself out quickly and of its own accord.

Right, gotta drag myself into work without being sick again...

takingtheplunge · 02/07/2010 09:23

LMAO about takethat drunkenly raiding the fridge for sausages! Hooray for drunken nonsense! I went out for the first time in yonks last night (but no drinking as had to drive). DS decided to choose this morning to wake up screaming at 6.20 covered in diarrhoea (or however it's spelt).

AF due in 8 days.....taps fingers, twiddles thumbs.

Dellywyn · 02/07/2010 09:37

Thanks for the welcome.
Brassica My appt is a week today. Perfect timing actually as I'll just be a the start of my cycle. Still haven't told DH what I'm up to though !ekk!, but as we maybe getting a dog this weekend he'll not be surprised. That and he keeps dropping hints that he'd rather it just happened (a la ds) so he doesn't have to think about it.

JustKeepSwimming · 02/07/2010 11:43

Takethat - very funny

non-mental testing...hmm, 7is definitely mental

14 is 'recommended' therefore normal

so the line must be in between, 12 mental, 13 not?

Am pretty sure AF is on the way so won't bother buying any tests anyway until at least Mon.
And if i keep my disorganised chaos going i won't get round to buying any tests to try and be mental next cycle either....that's the plan anyway.
