Muser · 22/06/2010 11:09

I was having a long cycle *MrsWajs"! Just one with a good end. I am CD31 today. I think I ovulated late on CD18, which would make today 13DPO.

I remain a firm believer in not testing early. If I had accepted the whole late ovulation thing and not tried testing early on the basis of "I have a 28 day cycle" I would have saved myself a lot of worry.

superpenguin · 22/06/2010 11:58

Congratulations Muser !!!

I have no news. waiting waiting waiting...

almostknockedupgirl · 22/06/2010 12:35

Just popping in to say congrats Muser!! How fabulous, and I've got everything crossed that you have the most uneventful 9 months ahead of you.

Hi to everyone else, hugs, mojitos and homemade brownies all round to those who need them.

Bellaby · 22/06/2010 12:44

muser (or miser as my iPhone keeps trying to change your name to) - many congrats. That is great news and I really hope that everything goes really well for you xxx

felicityFlick · 22/06/2010 12:48

muser well done love! All fingers and toes crossed here for a sticky one. How soon will you be able to have your scan?

Glad fertility tests were ok lanky If the thyroid is the reason you've not had a BFP yet then surely one is due now the thyroid issue is sorted and your body can relax a bit more? I know roses has a thyroid condition and someone else but can't think who? but not sure if roses is under or over active?

So sorry to hear your news pinkie I really hope that your DH finds something soon. Please pop in and see us, I wish you didn't have to leave Maybe we can pop you inthe waiting to ttc section?

Good luck zippys, Let us know how you get on. Thinking of you and glad that your ERTD has eased off a little.

How you doing kaloki? Hope you're feeling a little better. Anymore news from your Dad?

Enjoy your last day off mrsW Every time you talk about your CBFM I get excited! I will only be able to use that and not temp due to the time difference so do you recommend SWI for a coupe of days after the second peak?

womanly great that you have a plan and hopefully your scan next week will show that you're ovulating but even if you're not, at least there is a next step in place. Really pleased that you're getting somewhere.

Jealous bella of the Ipad! Holiday also sounds lush!!!

Fingers crossed peng in your wait. Hope you have some nice things planned to distract yourself with.

Glad you're feeling good flo, i really wish I had that competitive edge that made me keep on running, I am just a big giver upper! Hope your 3 days until your week off are going quickly- anything nice planned? Will you be partaking in a SWIathon or are you still thinking of taking a break? 1 week to go for me until ERTD

Glad things are clearing up a little cave and that you're starting to see a solution. My best friends dp is back from Afghanistan tomorrow for ten days on his mid- tour break. She is so excited! I was thinking of you when I was talking to her yesterday and think that you both deserve a medal- I don't have one to give so here is a biscuit instead

Hi to aries Hope you're ok, you've been a bit quiet of late. Hope work is not too crazy busy right now.

Nice to see you one hope your 12 week scan goes well on Mon. Please pop in and let us know how you get on

Lot of love to you all, last day of term for me tomorrow, thank god!! Last day of teaching was today so tomorrow is just a day of assemblies and parties.

felicityFlick · 22/06/2010 12:54

Cross posts almost Thanks for the Mojitos but I think I am off them for life after my epic hangover last week sick face!! Could you send some champers our way so we can toast muse?!

WhiteRoses · 22/06/2010 16:18

Hi,

Sorry about the absence - been in hospital again, this time with bleeding, but all's still well with LO, which is the main thing.

Anyway, yes, Kkas, it would make your life more complicated - certainly did for me - but would you REALLY care?! Huge congratulations on the job though, and hope putting TTC on the back burner really does do the trick for you.

Lucky - think I missed you getting your Christmas Eve due date! Wonder will you be cebrating Christmas with a bump or a baby?!

Zippys - knowing how you feel about testing, I'm so, so sorry that you got a BFN. And on your own too. Still, hopefully this appointment tomorrow will be good; a big step towards getting what you want. Fingers crossed. Will check back and see how you get on.

Kaloki - how awful about your dad. I know it's easier said than done, but (as others have said) try not to take any notice. x

Halo - glad to hear you're about ready to start trying again - best of luck! x

Muser - DELIGHTED about your news. Trying not to be too excited for you but it isn't easy! Well done! Hope to see you on the Grads thread as soon as you feel up to it.

Once again, missing out a lot of people, sorry about that, but good luck to you all! Got to get up and tidy up a bit now before DH gets home - need to look like I've achieved SOMETHING today!

WhiteRoses · 22/06/2010 16:20

...Sound like a bit of a 1950's wife there... Should say I'm off work for the week, with nothing else to do!

Bellaby · 22/06/2010 19:10

Evening All

What a beautiful evening here - feel like I should be sitting outside in the sun with a glass of wine in hand.... well at least I managed the glass of wine part of that

Zippys - I hope that the budget hasn't meant too much work for you! I actually thought it was a very good budget (hope that's not too controversial on here). Thanks for mentioning Clomid - will have a little bit of a search around on here to see what is said.

Good luck at your appointment tomorrow!

I'll take a a raspberry muffin if you have any left. Muser can I have one of your mohitos to wash it down with too???

Lanky - I think a lot of people have the same thoughts about the iPad - that it's just a marketing gimmick. I think it depends what you want to use it for. I like playing computer games, reading and surfing the internet and for that it is perfect so it suits me really well. Apple are the masters of marketing but the concepts that they develop really do seem to change the way technology is done. I definitely think you should get an iPhone - if nothing else it means you have easier access to MN whenever you like.

Felicity - so happy for you that tomorrow is last day of term. Lucky you. Summer holidays have to be the best thing about being a teacher!

Hope you all have a lovely evening

Bellaby · 22/06/2010 19:15

oh and don't worry Zippys I have no intentions of leaving this group. Especially whilst muffins, chocolate cake and mohitos are on offer

Ariesgirl · 22/06/2010 20:17

Hi Felicity. Lovely to hear from you and I hope you enjoy your last day of term and that you have plenty of "Best teacher EVER!" presents. What subject do you teach?

I've been a bit quiet as we've been madly busy due to this fabulous weather we're having. Which is great but does not aid SWI, it must be said. i.e there has been none thus far and we're on Day 16. Sigh. Just too knackered. Also I suspect MrA has a crush on someone, who's gorgeous and 22. How depressing is that? He denies it of course .

OP posts:
Miffles · 22/06/2010 21:10

Hey all...biggest congratulations to Muser. It is so encouraging to hear about BFP. I don't know your history, but really hope this is a sticky bean

Zippys and womanly - hope your appointments go well. I'm waiting for all of our preliminary tests to be done before we start the wait to see a fertility specialist (would never call it an infertility specialist!). Isn't it annoying that we can't SWI like others and plan and scheme in the same way...but it'll happen when it happens, and there may be more of a story involved!

Just to clarify - i actually walked the Race for Life!! still feel a sense of achievement, as completed it with my mum who has cancer. But don't want people to be out off that you can only do it if you run. I'd say 300 people ran it and 2700 people jogged or walked!!

Bellaby · 22/06/2010 21:10

here Aries - join me in a glass of wine

MrsWajs · 22/06/2010 22:42

Just popping in quickly to say to flick yes I would definitely recommend SWI'ing after peaks as I don't think mine predicted ovulation exactly, just the hormone surge before it. Temps are on the up now (slowly) and have continued SWI (with the exception of the one day we missed) so keeping fingers crossed!
Time difference was the reason I wasn't temping whilst away, well, that and late nights/early mornings and lots of drinking

LankyLegs · 23/06/2010 08:53

Morning all,

Felicity enjoy your last day - am very envious of your whole summer off!

Bellaby agree - since reading about the iphone 4G I think I might have to get myself one

Aries did you manage to seduce Mr A?! Hey a 22 year old chick does not have a patch on you - she is a baby not a WOMAN! I hope you got your sexy arse into some action last night!

MrsWajs would totally recommend you get yourself checked out if you have the slightest suspicion - like I said I didn't have a clue but now having had the results back a few things have clicked into place. And yes - silver lining (as the GP put it) don't have to ever pay for prescriptions again - not that I ever had many before!

Muser how is it settling in?

Penguin have you caved in and tested yet? Actually just noticed you are CD 23 so probably a bit early. Hope the waiting game isn't too frustrating

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!! Yay! Thanks for the wishes all! lanky if it makes you feel any better we start back at work in August so when you are having proper summer I'll be back at work.

Glad you're well aries. Hope you got some action last night, like lanky said, that young whippersnapper has nowt on you lady! I got three presents, not that great! DH (primary teacher)is always laden down with wine and chocolates (he got a PSP from one of his class at Christams ) and I usually get a couple of bits of tat but it's the thought that counts right?! ;) I teach secondary humanities. What did you used to teach?

Thanks mrsW for the CBFM advice

Back later xx

Bellaby · 23/06/2010 09:08

Morning All

what a beautiful sunny day - days like this should be declared a national holiday. Especially with England playing this afternoon - I hope they can finally put in a good performance. Slovenia only has 2m people!

Felcity hooray for the holidays . Hope your DH shares his spoils with you - definitely better to be a primary teacher for that

chat later xxx

superpenguin · 23/06/2010 09:58

Hello everyone!

Lanky - in a marginal correction to the list I am actually on CD24 today, BUT still WAY too early for stick-peeing-on.

Is it too early for ridiculous symptom spotting?...

agree with others about the general outdoor warmness we are having this week! shame I am stuck in the office all day every day and not out there enjoying it!

SaorAlba · 23/06/2010 12:08

I'm noticing myself get nearer and nearer the top of the list which is pretty scary. CD 27 here, but I have no idea how long my cycles normally are, so I'm trying my hardest to hold off until Sunday. It helps that there are no pg tests in the house and I'm pretty short of cash at the mo. Bought some internet cheapies which will probably arrive today so will have to exercise serious willpower tomorrow!

Don't think I feel pg but it's almost impossible not to symptom spot. Nipples are pretty tender and I've got slight cramps, but these could be impending AF or just the fact that I've only been off the pill for a month so my body is probably taking some time to readjust.

Got a day off tomorrow so will need to work hard distracting myself from poas. The garden and housework will be getting an unusual amount of attention!

penguin when are you holding out to?

kkas · 23/06/2010 13:22

musern supercongrats!

kkas · 23/06/2010 13:22

sorry - not sure where that N came from!

zippys · 23/06/2010 18:55

Well good and bad news from appointment - firstly I am ovulating, so thats really good news.

I have sent for a raft of further tests, checking for rubella immunity, usual hep tests and clamidyia (sp!). Booked for an ultrasound to check for PCOS, and also DP has to do a SA.

If all of these come back clear then have test to check if tubes block (cant remember the name).

If any of these show anything I will be referred to the nearby city but at the moment there is no funding. So I will have to wait and see, back in 8 weeks so shall see where we go from there. But I kind of feel a bit more relaxed about it all but I do think if we need IVF etc then we would wait till after the wedding which would be early next year, but I maybe getting a little ahead of myself!!

I also managed to get my smear done at the same time, so at least that was a bonus!

One thing she did say was that I need to stop SWI, ie stop timing shagging sessions. I need to have sex 2 -3 times a week (not any more). She said dont temp etc and dont have more sex around OV as the stress creates cortisol hormone which inhibits fertilisation. It is so easy for her to say but not too easy to follow

Anyway I am still at work but wanted to give you an update. I may get back on later but have LOADS to do before I leave work .

haloflo · 23/06/2010 19:04

Wooo England! flick you are defiantly a good luck charm!

Congratulations muser am very pleased for you. Just echo what has already been said, I hope you have a very boring trouble free next 8 months.

flick Schools out til August, I'm very jealous! You deserve a good break after the work you've been doing though. I have to say I'm really looking forward to my one week off now. Nothing much planned, a night away in Leeds (staying in an ultra modern apartment which looks amazing) and yes SWI'ing will be going ahead after my initial debating. I mean this could be the month couldn't it so I can't stop! I'm hoping the combination of time off work and a few drinks whilst away will do the trick. The night away is on CD14 for me I think. That could be very good!

roses Thanks for the good wishes. Sorry to hear you have been in hospital but glad your LO is ok.

bellaby Talking budget probably is a bit controversial so I won't go into my opinions but I have to say its made me worry more than ever about the future. I work for local government and am nervous about my job and jobs in the area I live in which the main employers are public sector. DP works for a high street electrical retailer which will be hit by the VAT rise and some colleagues were given 30 days notice just today. I'm very thankful he wasn't one of them. I'm just going to hope things work out and might leave splashing out on a ipad for another day although you are making me want one so much!

lanky I have an iphone and love it (not just because I can go on MN anytime although that's a bonus!) I use it as a ipod too so I reckon it's a bargain! I hope you are ok about the thyroid news and you never know, finding out about it might be the trigger you need to get your BFP. Anyway cycle buddy how early are you starting SWI? DP will be drunk tonight and is away tomorrow night so CD10 is going to have to be my start date, hope it's not too late!

aires I too hope Airesboy came to his senses last night and you managed some SWI.

penguin It's never too early for symptom spotting. Spill all!

soar Good luck when you get your tests. Tender breasts are a good sign. Fingers crossed for you. Hope you manage to keep yourself busy tomorrow.

zippys I hope you aren't too snowed under at work. I've just seen a graph on the weather with the temp going up and up so this weekend could be a scorcher. I hope ERTD is coming to an end shortly and you are still doing better.

Ariesgirl · 23/06/2010 19:13

Zips, you may be interested to know that two ladies over on the BESH thread who were literally just about to go down the IVF road (had appointments booked and everything) have both conceived on their own in the last few weeks. Well, not on their own as such but you know what I mean. And they're well, well into their thirties too. Just thought it may give you a bit of inspiration during dark moments.

If I get pregnant this month, it will be the biggest miracle since December 25th 0000 . I'm afraid MrA is being an utter wanker and last night preferred to watch naked Australians than come to bed with me. Sure makes a girl feel good about herself
