MrsWajs · 21/06/2010 11:09

Morning all,

I am sad this morning as MrWajs has gone back to work Our holiday is well and truly over now!
We have a trip to Ireland to look forward to in 2 weeks time for my friends wedding so I suppose that'll keep us going, the only thing I'm worried about is that either ERTD or possible BFP will be due on the day of the wedding, not sure if that's a good thing or not. If ERTD comes then I'll no doubt be pissed off and if it doesn't I'm gonna be like a cat on a hot tin roof wondering!!
Also in saying that, does anyone know if your peaks on CBFM are a definite indication of ovulation?? Just wondering as my temps don't seem to match the peaks. I had a rise today but didn't seem to have one when I was peaking and I stopped POASing after I got my 2 as I thought that was it. Now I'm a bit confused as to when ovulation was!? Have SWI'd throughout the whole time anyway so should be covered except for yesterday which would have been my first day after second peak so hopefully haven't missed anything there!

God just re-read that and it sounds very confusing!!

Anyway catch up time . . . .

Kaloki Again just echoing what everyone else has already said in that your wedding is your wedding! And I firmly believe you should stick to what you and DP want and can afford to do but I know it can be difficult when it comes to family, you can be a bit torn!! Hope you're feeling a little more optimistic about things today and have managed to smooth thing over with your dad.

Muser Sorry to hear you're a bit stuck with your cycle just now, I know how it feels when absolutely nothing is happening! I had a 45 day cycle in March and it totally did my head in! Obviously nothing in comparison to evil and pinkies long cycles but still it is stressful when you don't know what's going on.

Speaking of which evil do you have to go back to GP after the 6 month mark?? I'm a bit surprised they have done anything so far?

Lanky Glad you enjoyed your holiday, mine was good, accomodation didn't ruin it I was just disappointed at the money we'd spent to go somewhere so average! Nevermind though, won't make the same mistake again. Sorry to hear you got ERTD tho and hope everything goes well at GP this evening.

SaorAlba Good luck with POAS abstinence!!

Bellaby Your trip sounds amazing - I am very Hope you have a fab time - you deserve it!

Cavemum I have to agree that there is never an ideal time to TTC plus you never know how your body's going to work so I think the best idea is that you continue with your plans as they are and just hope that it all works out well. I sometimes can't help but think there is an element of fate attached to falling pregnant, i.e it'll happen when it's the right time for you. Or maybe that's just what I'm telling myself cus it hasn't happened for me yet!

Miffles Well done on race for life - I ran it one year and vowed never to repeat it again without proper training! I think I could tackle walking it though. Might give it a bash next year!!

AlmostKnockedUpGirl I have indeed been busy this weekend

Zippys Very sorry for BFN. Big hugs for you.

And hello to superpenguin, flick, aries, flo, kkas, bobby, womanly and anyone else I've missed. As usual forgot to read previous page before starting post!!!

Bellaby · 21/06/2010 12:06

lanky your holiday sounds amazing. I've never been to Tuscany but have heard great things. And you can never go wrong with cheap wine straight from the producer! I saw a gynaey consultant who was talking about the possible next steps. However have just realized that we have to put TTC on hold now until after the holiday as we will be taking Malaria tablets which don't mix with pregnancy or ttc

kaloki - I would not be happy at all if my MIL started asking me questions. Make sure you tell her to butt out next time (or better still get your other half to do so)!

MrsW - hope you aren't feeling too lonely today and can enjoy the next couple of days before you go back

Bellaby · 21/06/2010 12:08

And after your comments Aries and Lanky I'm going to completely give up on trying to predict when I ovulate!

evilgiraffe · 21/06/2010 12:42

Thanks for comments all - the GP did loads of blood tests at around three months which all came back normal. He said to come back if there was still nothing at six months as it is quite usual for it to take six months to come back, so I'm trying to wait patiently until then. I suppose I am relatively young to be TTC so there's no big problem with the wait aside from it being frustrating. I am loath to start agnes cactus or similar until the six months is up - don't want to add in another variable!

haloflo · 21/06/2010 19:34

Evening all.

zippys So sorry for ERTD and your BFN. I hope you are feeling ok today. I'm sending you vibes to help you stay strong.

mrswajs I did miss your post about your peak because I typed it hours before my internet would let me post it. With your peak this time the only thing I can think is that the CBFM is still getting to know you. I don't think it confirms ov, like ov sticks it only detects the hormone surge which triggers ovulation. For me I got a high temp the day of the second peak, a lower temp then a second rise so I was unsure of ovulation day. If you got it covered then don't worry too much I reckon & hopefully the rise will be confirmed soon.

womanly Your MIL sounds like hard work, poor you getting all that quizzing. When's your Race For Life? I've never done one before and am very excited. Don't be impressed by my running. It's not a pretty sight but I'm quite competitive and hate to be defeated so I just chug on. If you want any tips to get started try something like www.runnersworld.co.uk/racing/six-week-beginner-5k-schedule/67.html

almost Did you sign up for the Race for Life then? When would it be? Check out that link above you haven't done any running for a while. It really works.

miffles Well done on Race for Life!

kkas Any news about your job yet? I also am too addicted to stop TTC but that job really does sound much better for you and your future family. If you decide to hold for a bit and have a break we will be here and time really does fly by faster than you think.

bellaby An ipad! Wow! Let me know what it's like. My DP loves gadgets and it rubs off on me. Your holiday sounds amazing too. I think it's great to have things to look forward to.

cavemum I'm glad you are DH are forming a new plan. Fingers crossed it happens when you try 1st time around.

muser Fingers crossed ERTD keeps staying away.

lanky A cycle buddy! How exciting! My last cycle buddy graduated a few weeks ago (luckyseven) so I'm clearly lucky company! I hope tonight's result's go ok. Your holiday sounds amazing. I'm glad you had a good time. Do you work? I hope you don't have to go back too soon.

flick We better win tomorrow! DP and I dare not make football related plans for the weekend in case we don't make it through but don't want to make other plans in case we do. Hmm reminds me of TTC a bit - never sure what plans to make! I'm so glad you are on countdown to end of term and TTC finally.

For me ETRD is over (yey) so heading into the nice relaxing waiting to ov phase knowing it's still too early to SWI. Also just 4 days to go until I have a week off. All is good in world. I hope everyone else is ok today.

PinkiePoo · 21/06/2010 20:17

Evening all...

Pinkie did a bit of a disappearing act, trying not to get all crazy lady on TTC.

just wanted to say salty BF - YAY for the BFP! Chuffed for ya

cavemum sorry to hear bout ya dad. My sisters wedding is in Aug, and it has caused a few arguements, nothing major, its just emotions. Talk to him, if still no luck, then a big count to 10, and carry on regardless. Its your day. The way you intended it to be.

As for me....still no ERTD....not even gonna POAS. No point, i know its a long cycle, AGAIN!
Also, DP, lost his job, so living off my salary for now = BAD TIMES. He said we should put TTC on hold until things are settled. Wise words, but totally devastated, as its not what i want. Spent whole day in floods of tears, being a selfish brat, ha ha. Just hard to sink in.

So I guess this is goodbye my lovelies. Could someone take me off the list??

Good luck to EVERYONE, and if i ever come back i hope to see none of you on here

luckyseven · 21/06/2010 20:39

mrs w just saw your post about the monitor and the temps. It took four months for my temps and the monitor to match up and that was the lucky month. I think we based swi around the monitor more than temps so maybe missed a trick there. On my phone so next time i am at the computer will check back on my temps to see if there was a big difference. Sounds like you have kept your options open anyway!

Ariesgirl · 21/06/2010 21:19

Pinke my love, sorry to hear that. Times are definitely hard and it's so awful that people are having to delay or avoid having much-wanted children because of the feckin recession. It makes me so cross.

Pop back whenever you want.

OP posts:
Muser · 21/06/2010 21:24

Really sorry to hear that Pinkie, I hope he finds a new job soon. What awful times.

haloflo · 21/06/2010 21:39

pinkie Really sorry to hear that. I hope something comes up for him soon.

CaveMum · 21/06/2010 21:42

Pinkie really sorry to hear that. Fingers and toes crossed that he finds something soon.

Take care and hope to see you back again soon: at the rate things are going I shall probably still be here!

Bellaby · 21/06/2010 23:38

pinkie sorry to hear that. Hope things sort themselves out for you both soon. Do pop back when you are ready xxx

Bellaby · 21/06/2010 23:42

haloflo - should be fast asleep but I have my new iPad so am lying in bed playing with it. Seems amazing so far. Probably good job DH & I are putting TTC on hold for the holidays - not sure he'll be seeing much of me away from this for a while

Budget tomorrow....let's see what that brings

Muser · 22/06/2010 07:49

I got a BFP

CaveMum · 22/06/2010 08:11

MUSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!!!!

Have you told Mr Muser yet?!

Muser · 22/06/2010 08:31

Told him at 4.30am when I tested! I needed the loo and didn't want to risk testing on not FMU. He said "mmm, wrhhhh, hooray" and went back to sleep.

he's being a lot more cautious than me given our history.

luckyseven · 22/06/2010 08:32

wow muser congratulations. Fast work looking forward to hearing how you told dh or maybe like me you told the frolickers before dh! Sh!

Muser · 22/06/2010 08:40

Not going to get too excited just yet, given my history. Got to make an appointment for tests and an early scan to make sure things are where they should be and this one is progressing.

It's a bit hard as I'm really happy but also very apprehensive. Fingers crossed for a good sticky one that has stuck in the right place.

zippys · 22/06/2010 08:43

Oh my god, sat here making notes from the previous page then saw your post Muser YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY - you derserve it. Sending every vibe I can that this is on a sticky and the one

Pinkie sorry to hear your news, I hope you are back here soon. Whenever it is i am sure I will still be here!! I hope your DP finds another job soon. We are here is you need to scream or cry even if its nothing to do with TTC.

Kaloki - how you doing chick? I hope you managed to talk to your Dad. I think we will have similar problems as we are only planning on having 20 people to the wedding so I think people could be upset. I really hope you are feeling more positive.

Bella - v v jealous of ipad, we are just debating about getting one but you may have just swayed me . I dont know how much you have found out about clomid but I think there is quite a bit on these boards (but dont you dare go leaving us!! . Oh I baked a raspberry muffins and a chocolate cake, anyone fancy one??

Miffles well done for doing the race for life, I always say I will do it but then the dates around here seem to clash. I WILL do it next year.

Cavemum - hope you are feeling a lot better now you have a plan.

Evil - I can understand you not wanting to add another variable, I just hope ERTD appears for you soon hon.

Lanky Tuscany sounds amazing, we go on holiday in three weeks and I cant wait, just worked out I will ovulate the week before holiday, so I was thinking if I OV late then should catch it

Womanly cant believe your MIL. Mine doesnt know we are trying and I think unless we go down IVF then I think I will keep it that way.

Mrs Waj I see you dilema re wedding. Keeping everything crossed that the ERTD does not appear and the lucky CBDM works its magic.

Well no real news from me, ERTD is getting less painful - was horrible on Sunday. Infertility appointment tomorrow, quite scared as to what they will say.

May not be here much over the next couple of days due to the budget as I think all hell could break loose with call and meetings with client trying to work out how they will be affected. This is when working in tax may not be much fun!!

zippys · 22/06/2010 08:46

Sorry Muser cross post, I hope I am not too excited for you as I know it must be hard right now. xxx

womanlytales · 22/06/2010 08:48

Congratulations Muser - - very happy for you and DH.
Pinkie Sorry about the current situation - I hope your DH gets a job quickly and you're back with us to ttc.
halo my race for life event is on July 10 - so a few more weeks to go yet. I got a friend to register so that we won't have to run..lol Currently am fundraising and feel really good about how generous folks are being. I pray that we do get a cure for cancer and one that applies across all types..
So my specialist has put me on a medication free follicle monitoring month - - have a scan on Day 9 and then a couple more backed with tests to confirm if I am or not ovulating on my own. Anybody else here who has done this? If they find I am not ovulating on my own then they will put me on Clomid presumably...Will see how it goes and report back. Many paths to that bfp

womanlytales · 22/06/2010 08:54

zippys I think we must have posted at the same time - because I just saw your post Best of luck with your fertility infertility (Never understand what doctors hope to achieve from calling this infertility when we're their customer and they KNOW how much that term alone can upset us....) appointment.

LankyLegs · 22/06/2010 10:08

Muser Congratulations!! You totally deserve it with everything you have been through. I hope its sinking in - but understand you airing on the side of caution. Try to enjoy it just a little bit though!

Pinkie sorry to hear about your news - always welcome back here. Wishing you all the luck and i hope your DP is ok after the job loss. Crikey its not good out there is it...

Zippys hope work isn't too mad today and more importantly wishing you lots of luck with the appt tomorrow too. I know it must be scary - but just think its all steps in the right direction. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions!!

Womanly sounds like things are moving on for you too? I haven't heard of the scans you are referring to but it all sounds positive to figure out what is going on? Your MIL - jeeze what was she on? I don't get the insensitivity of people sometimes.

Halo glad ERTD is over - me too Am looking forward to a few days of not worrying about when to SWI or not! Hope you are looking forward to hols! I am afraid back at work

Bella what is the ipad like? My DH hates gadgets (can you believe it) well he mainly hates all thing Apple and thinks its a massive marketing ploy blah blah blah - he bloody works in marketing so not sure what he is going on about! So other than my ipod all things Apple are banned in our house. Although I really do fancy the iphone which I might get....

My docs appt was ok yesterday - I could not concentrate all day with the fear of bad news. When I got there she said ' well the good news is that all your fertility related hormones are fine - you seem to be ovulating etc etc'.... big phew and then thought hang on - why call me in then? Basically I have an underactive thyroid (Hypothyroidism) which is easily balanced with drugs but if left untreated can cause loads of other problems. Not sure how I feel about it - its quite common, but I guess I never felt like I had any of the symptoms - not overweight or excessively tired etc (not more than everyone else after a days work). Anyway - have to take thyroxine every day for the rest of my life. She also said that it might be the cause of no babee yet but she couldn't say for sure. So we are still continuing with scan and DH sperm tests regardless.

On other news - who is watching the tennis? So bummed I am not at home to watch it. Can't believe Federer's match yesterday. Very exciting

OneOf8 · 22/06/2010 10:33

Congrats Muser!!

4.30 am! thats dedication! even at 6 am, I'm like a mole in a hole with the squinty eyes getting out of bed - I refuse to open my eyes until the alarm goes off!

pinkie sorry about your news, hope everything settles soon x

Zippy Good luck for tomorrow

Womanly Sounds good, either way, things are moving forwards ? Still surprises me that one person will get support and another has a hard time even getting a GP appointment.

Hope everyone else ok?

MrsWajs · 22/06/2010 11:05

Morning lovelies,

Pinkie I am so sorry to hear about DP's job, I totally know how you feel from going through the same thing earlier this year - it also affected my cycles too, although I know you have had longer ones previously. I hope everything works out well for you and we'll see you back here soon!! I hope not to be here myself but you never know!! Missing you already.xx

lucky think you could be right about the peaks and temps, I seem to be getting my sustained rise now but wasn't temping all of the time I was using CBFM so it's difficult to ascertain when the rise might have started!! I'm worried that FF is gonna put my ov date at day 19 which was the day after both my peaks and the only day that we didn't SWI Hoping more than an anything that we've done enough!! Also a bit naffed off cus DP suggested SWI that morning and I said no cus I was so bloody knackered from doing it 8 days straight (just to make sure!)but he seems to have a knack for knowing when's a good time and I should have learnt that from last time! Oh well guess I just have the next week and a half to worry about it all!

Muser Congratu-bloody-lations!! Feel a bit silly now, having suggested you might just be having a long cycle!! How many DPO were you when you got your +VE?? Just so I know for my time!! Keeping my fingers crossed that this one sticks for you

Zippys Hope everything goes well for you tomorrow and that today isn't too stressful either - I saw on the news that everyone is gong to suffer from this budget apparently - DEEP JOY! Like we aren't all struggling enough at the moment!!

Womanly What meds have you been on previously and maybe I've missed this bit already but how long have you been under a specialist?? Just curious as you are only on cycle 4? Sorry I'm probably sounding really stupid here and have missed a vitally important part of your story! I had a friend who had those tests and they put her on Clomid afterwards, although she was ovulating it just wasn't at the right times etc.

Lanky I am intrigued by your hypothyroidism, I suspected a while ago that I may have had it but DP laughed it off when he read about the symsptoms so it's interesting to know that you didn't feel you had any of them! I was going to see GP at the time and ask for blood test but didn't bother cus thought I might look silly but will definitely be broaching it when I go next (i.e. if ERTD arrives this month)Bit of a bumer that you have to take a tablet for the rest of your life but there are 2 positives to take from that - a) you'll get a baba and b) all your other prescriptions will now be free also!! And sadly no I am not watching the tennis - it's bad enough that I am having to endure fooball every night!! Really not a sport watching fan!!

Hi to everyone else - better go and do something constructive with my last day off and not waste hours on here!! Be back later.
