Hello Gin guzzlers,

How is the Tuesday gin sesh going with you all?

So sorry zips about your BFN- it is the worst feeling in the world to see a BFN, even when you have convinced yourself that you haven't got your hopes up Hope your sickness is a little better now you're back on your diet? I guess it is kind of an incentive to stick to a diet though? Did you say you were seeing the consultant this week?

Mr. Aries is lucky to be still standing (with nuts intact)it seems Bloody men!

Sorry to hear that you are still having cramps kaloki when are your results due? Exciting news about the wedding stuff. Can't wait to see pics.

kkas about that face book status. Fingers crossed for job news for you soon.

lankys ahhh bless ya, I missed you all too!
Cats are being moody buggers and seem to have turned a bit wild. I don't feel as if they are mine anymore My sister has actually not been around since I have been home as she has been on holiday to wait for it...... Benidorm with two friends and one of the friend's mum. She arrived back this morning at 5am and is in an AWFUL mood so me and my wee pot and sticks are keeping well out of her way! I think I might have to start carrying the CBFM and all of it's paraphernalia around in my hand bag as I really don't want her to find it all and tell my mum!
Must add porn star cocktails to my list to try! Are they are well recognised cocktail- as in if I ask at the bar for a 'porn star' are people likely to know what I mean or do I need to order the parts separately? I might try this weekend as I have a big night out on Saturday and a wedding on Sunday.

Welcome tigerseyemum if you want to be on the list then let us know your info. Cycle number is how many cycles you have been trying, UCL is how long your cycles usually are and CD is what day of the cycle you are on.

Have a great holiday higheels

gardenpixie as the others have said not talking is not a necessity for SWI. Grab him, do it and then continue not talking to him. Sod's law says that will be the time you make a baby!

Am not up to much today- just been out for a wlak with my mum and now having an afternoon rest while trying to stay out of evil sister's way. My DH left to go back to visit his parents this morning. I'll join him up there on Saturday so I hope that the CBFM does not show any unexpected highs or an early peak between now and Friday! Trying to be good on diet after going into Boots and weighing myself on those scales that tell you your body fat %! Maybe that was the kick up the bum I needed to be good until the wedding I have on Sunday.

Hi to everyone - mrsW, only two days/nights to go now!!

Are you there flo? Hope you're ok and just busy resting up

xx

TomboyWife · 27/07/2010 18:55

So sorry about your BFN zippys.

I think my three-month post-injury cycle may have been a blessing in some ways -- our sex life is much better after a little spell of not worrying about doing it at certain times. The SWIing this month is actually fun, rather than, "Oh God, we've got to do that again. I don't want to do that. I'm too tired to do that. I'm so bloody sick of doing that. Let's never do that again."

I've also made a GP appointment to talk about why we're not pregnant. Not looking forward to going down the medical route, but we're not getting anywhere on our little own, so...

Ariesgirl · 27/07/2010 20:34

Evening all. I've kind of made my man sound like a total twat quite a lot. He's really not honest. He just doesn't have a way with words and isn't bothered too much about having kids.

hey FLick yeah I love Dubai this will be my 6th time I think, lost track lol. I can't wait!! Got to try to chill out though about TTC. If my cycles are going to go back to normal I should be having ERTD just when we re are coming home, so will see what happens with that I guess.. If it doesn't turn up I guess my cycles are not back to normal yet,
oooo yep the displays are a nightmare , the TA's are ace at them but I have had to do mine on my own and god they look terrible lol, luckily I only have Year 1 so they shouldnt notice my rubbish attempts!

cherrycobbler · 27/07/2010 23:00

aw zips sorry to hear about your BFN. I was v much hoping that you would be hot on the heels of flo with a well deserved BFP. The only way to get through a breakfast gin hangover is to keep drinking, so sending a crate of rose prosecco your way.

flick i had porn star cocktails at a separate establishment to the lovely lanky so I do believe they must be genu-wine cocktails.

tomboy good luck at docs.

I am SO bored of being on the 2ww. I have convinced myself that This Is The Month. This is despite zero symptoms and v poor timed SWI'ing. In fact, as I type I feel pretty pre mentstrual, despite being a week off my period. Clearly AF will come earlier than usual just to mock my self conviction! I dare not go on pregnology though, I already work out every month what the three month/ nine month mark would be (and whether there would be any matters at work due to kick off next year I could get out of...), it would be the end of me!

gardenpixie · 27/07/2010 23:05

Aries don't worry, I don't think you've made him sound like anything horrid, I just think we get to sound off here without worrying about what people think ... or at least I hope that's the case..?

Much better to have somewhere to do that than not be able to talk about it.

Hope you are ok xx

gardenpixie · 27/07/2010 23:10

Hope everyone else is having a good tuesday ... just been prescribed clomid which in a way is great as I'm hoping it's going to help although am also convinced now, having seen my blood test results, that the reason I'm not pg is because I'm actually a man (raised testosterone levels) and a drunken old hag to boot (my diagnosis rather than the drs). Hmmmm, maybe a few more G&T's are in order!

cookiemoo · 28/07/2010 08:10

Hi everyone!! I've changed my name from cj2007 and it's lovely to be back and see all the bfp's that have happened whilst I've been gone! We're still trying here and have started the ball moving with the Gp as still no bfp for us! I've had bloods, all normal and dh just submitted sample for analysis. Fingers crossed all ok there....

I'm gonna try and keep up with all the developments on the thread! X

LankyLegs · 28/07/2010 09:35

Morning all,

Aries Your man doesn't sound awful - he just sounds like a man.... he sounds like most men.... Us girls stick together so just showing you some support If you can';t have a pop here in cyberspace then where can you?!

Cherry lovely to hear from you. Your 2WW sounds like its dragging - god I hate them to. Bloody awful! How can we distract you hmmmmm.... another cocktail perhaps?

Flick boo to your moody cats - why can cats feel like they hold grudges?! Anyway - Sounds like you are having a lovely time. With regards to pornstars - all good cocktail establishments should know what they are but incase they don't they are fresh passionfruit vodka martini's with a small shot of champagne on the side. Try it try it. Yummy.

Tomboy your post made me giggle. I know what you mean about that and its nice to get it back to pre-TTC. Its good to get the ball rolling with the GP if you have been trying for a while. I know its not ideal - but at least you feel like you are doing something about it.

Gardenpixie - wow on clomid. How are you feeling about that (apart from feeling like a man which is clearly not true)? At least its positive in getting you to ovulate - have you not been ovulating to date?

Hello to tigerseye and welcome back cookiemoo Tigerseye not sure how you give up chocolate? Not that I eat much but I love the stuff around ERTD time. Well done to you though!

Zippy's how you doing today my dear. Any sign of ERTD? Hope not....

Soaralba keeping a lil eye out for you too! Hope you are not going too mental with the 2ww.

New cars Cavemum and Zippys aggh am jealous! We are holding off getting a new car until sprog arrives. Love the sounds of both your. A5 convertible - ooooh how nice! I love the new A5 and A6... drool... sorry am a bit of a motor head.

Waves to everyone else.

Very boring here... not drinking and just shagging at the moment... although we are really not trying this month (can you tell that I am talking total crap) ok I am not expecting to get pregnant but shagging nonetheless. Like I said previously if I didn't know my body so well and didn't know about sodding ovulation then I would truly just do it when one felt like it - and we kind of are this month but big O is tomorrow .... I fink.... Ugh someone extract all this TTC info from my head please - I really don't want to know about it anymore!!!!!!!!

i had my first ever positve OPK yesterday. not necessarily because i have never ov before (i hope!) but just cuz this is the first month i have tried them. i must admit it was amazing seeing two lines after only ever just seeing one on those little pieces of plastic! secretly i was hoping that somehow the opk company had mistakenly put a pg test in the wrong packet and it actually meant i was pgers.... a girl can dream i suppose!

crazybutterflylady · 28/07/2010 10:27

peeps around door Hi everyone... room for a newcomer in here?? This thread seems really friendly, hope you don't mind me crashing?

I am: crazybutterflylady TTC#1 Cycle 1 UCL 30 CD 13 (I think??)

Obviously I am CONVINCED I am pregnant. But I am a newcomer to this, give me time to bump down to earth and realise I am being crazy...!

x

gardenpixie · 28/07/2010 10:49

Hi Lankylegs [smiles]... not thrilled about clomid to be honest; I think I have been ovulating but the trouble is my cycle is usually around 30 to 35 days but can wierdly spin out to 45 or 50. That means I don't know when to start pestering Mr Garden - so the dr said because of that, and because the blood tests suggest I'm actually a man, that it might be worth trying clomid.

I have to wait until the next ERTD to start it so in the meantime I was thinking I'd stock up on timberlands and lumberjack shirts ...

Big Wednesday waves to everyone and hello to crazybutterfly

womanlytales · 28/07/2010 11:39

garden I am a bit miffed for you - did your doc actually say you're a man... That's just not right. I've been on Clomid [did ovulate as a result though didn't fall pregnant] - and am not thrilled about taking it either. However it looks like that's the route I will be asked to take since I am not ovulating on my own. Of course in the meantime I am trying raspberry tea nad have grapefruit juice and soy products on my list to help along with something Chinese - Dong Quai anybody know what that is all about? Any case - have also cut out easy sugars - chocolate, sweets and the white stuff ..and trying as much to stick to brown stuff basically also to reduce my BMI down to the acceptable levels... In total I think this might boost my natural chances of ovulating on my own..and then there's Clomid -- while it confirms ovulation - the rate of successful pregnancies is not that high - but better that otherwise.

Anycase - just wanted to write in to say - that the doctor was very insensitive and should be ignored completely!

womanlytales · 28/07/2010 11:41

Also plenty of cheer and good luck to those looking to poas or in their 2ww. Fingers crossed for you.
[waves] to Halo and [pokes] *MrsWajs -- hope you're doing ok.

gardenpixie · 28/07/2010 12:18

Thanks womanly - I am trying to take a bit of comfort from the fact that at least taking clomid means I'll be doing something rather than not but it's still a bit disheartening. I am bit concerned as the dr said it can cause mood swings - did you experience that at all? I am mardy enough already without drug induced grumpiness!

Will investigate Dong Quai too; I already eat low GI things as I have insulin resistence but I think I will be more rigourous about it (no more accidental ice cream ) and see if that helps too

crazybutterflylady · 28/07/2010 12:32

gardenpixie I had reflexology this weekend and the therapist was telling me that it really helps with TTC, that they 'unblock' obstacles... worth a try - and if not it is the most relaxing thing! If you tell them at the beginning of the treatment why you are there, they will try harder on that part.
Good luck - and ignore what the stupid Dr said xx

LankyLegs · 28/07/2010 12:54

Garden did the Dr say that you are a man or are you drawing your own conclusions from the testosterone?

Regardless will you please stop beating yourself up about it.! I demand you walk past the Timberland shop and straight into Selfridges and get yourself a hot new red dress or alike.

I hope the clomid works for you - like womanly I have read lots of things about it, but wishing you tonnes of luck.

Humph - doctors hey?

Hello to crazy nice name too (still getting name envy?!) oooh reflexology - are you ok about people touching your feet? I can't bear it - I have to gag myself from not laughing when I go for a rare pedicure.

Womanly what is Dong Quai - is it a Chinese herb... hmmm . I didn't realise you took clomid - sorry it didn't work for you. How is it being back from hols?

I just purchased a gazebo - I have no garden but thought it would be fun to have one whilst camping at the festival next weekend. Am getting slightly crazed at the one click shopping on Amazon I have set up - dangerous.

Also MrL is going to be home early from a conference so am thinking of skiving off early too and spending late afternoon in bed for some more shagging action. Am I a bad person?!

gardenpixie · 28/07/2010 13:04

Lanky DEFINITELY go home and shag! That's what afernoons are for!

Dr "joked" about testoserone levels and being a man while "joking" about the scans showing I had all the right female bits in the right places so I think she was trying to be a bit light hearted but still made me a feel a bit

I love your advice about a hot dress from Selfridges; that can be my afternoon skive retail business immersion plan. Sounds like you have a much more exciting plan up your sleeve though

crazybutterflylady · 28/07/2010 13:06

Hi Lanky

You can have name envy and i'll have leg envy, how about that?

I am also a bit funny aboput the foot thing and worry in pedicures that i am going to kick the beautician in the face - but this therapist was really good and it wasn't at all ticklish, in fact I fell asleep!

She sort of pushes on the pressure points but very gently, hard to describe, I think you'll just have to go and have it done yourself... any excuse.

And I say go home and get on it...why the flip not?

x

crazybutterflylady · 28/07/2010 13:15

gardenpixie I can't believe the Dr was a woman, that's even more appalling! I don't know why... but it is. Silly cow. Maybe call her Mr instead of Dr next time - see how she likes it.
Happy shopping!!

LankyLegs · 28/07/2010 13:22

Oh garden light-hearted or not - he should have realised you are a woman and a sensitive being. Some of those 'consultant/doctors/think I am god' really have very little sensitivity or compassion - you would think its part of the job description though right?

Ok - get internet shopping girl - look there is a sale on here go on... you deserve it....

Sorry I am such a bad influence when it comes to a)shopping and b) drinking....

Crazy maybe I would like it - hmmm might have to give it a go esp if you can get a baby at the end of it? Great! And what about acupuncture - any lovely Frolickers done that one yet?

I seriously have 'gullible' and' mug' written on my head though - you could sell me ANYTHING - f*ck I just brought a gazebo and don't have a garden?!

Ok - afternoon shagathon has been activated - text sent to MrL to see what time he gets home......

LankyLegs · 28/07/2010 13:24

OMG - the doctor was a woman... I didn't even read that bit!! Ok - I don't swear much (that's a complete lie) but what a BITCH. Does she have no sense of woman/sisterhood????

crazybutterflylady · 28/07/2010 13:27

You don't have a garden??? What are your plans for said Gazebo?! Haha I love it.

I have had acupuncture before, but not for conception, and love that too. I am a treatment fiend!

The therapist on Sunday said she felt 'something arund the ovary area' and I hadn;t told her I was TTC before the treatment. I said there was a teeny weeny chance I could be pg and she said 'I am sure you are'.

SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM.

So I am blaming her for my current I-Have-Every-pg-Symptom-Going craziness
