mrs w so sorry how rude yes it came on saturday morning. Dh was wondering what the postman wanted so i just mumbled oh pg stuff. Not sure how i would explain pinging a cbfm round the uk. These two threads are my secret and have kept me sane these last few months!

haloflo · 22/07/2010 20:11

Evening all.

So sorry about ERTD Karstan and Florin I hope you are both getting looking after and treating yourself to a bottle glass of wine.

Newpeople - Hello, this is a brillant thread.

Anyway, the news we have all been waiting for.... I got a BFP yesterday. I kinda knew I was already as I was a week late and my symptoms were the same as last time. It was a nice bold dark BFP which reassured me for about a minute.

I wasn't going to test but then the free tests mumsnerves gave us the link to in May arrived. I couldn't stop myself! Am excited/terrified/anxious all at the same time.

Please please please could you keep my on list for a few more weeks days as I am far to scared to graduate. The only thing I can handle at the moment is one day at a time.

Sorry about the lack of personals, i've been lurking but finding it hard to take everything in.

MrsWajs · 22/07/2010 20:19

Oh halo sooooooooo happy for you!! And also a little bit sad cus it means you'll be leaving us again for grads

Well done you (and Mr. Halo, obviously) I knew you were being quiet for a reason!!

zippys · 22/07/2010 20:40

Wooooo hoooo. Congrats halo so pleased for you. Will be sad to see you leave but also so happy, you bloody deserve it. Let's hope this starts a run of bfp's.

TomboyWife · 22/07/2010 20:55

Big congratulations halo!

And sorry about ERTD Karstan and Florin.

As it seems to be a trend today, I too will confess to being very somewhat lax about drinking. When we first started TTC I felt guilty about having a pint and a half of beer on a day when there was no way I was pg. Fast forward to today, and, well... If I'm on the 2ww and I think there's a chance we've conceived, I cut way back. If I'm not, I don't.

It's that eternal balancing act of wanting to be good but also not wanting to put my life on hold for heaven knows how long. I also remain thoroughly unconvinced by the new "don't touch a drop" government advice. As far as I know, the change wasn't based on any new medical evidence.

CaveMum · 22/07/2010 21:04

YAAAAAYYYY!

halo I'm so pleased for you! How did Mr Halo take the news?

Well done to both of you!

luckyseven · 22/07/2010 21:31

halo massive congratulations i have tears in my eyes this is the news you deserve. I hope everything goes smoothly. See you in the grads when you are ready!

Florin · 22/07/2010 21:49

Oh halo i am so so pleased for you. You so deserve it I hope it all goes well big hugs.

Kaloki · 22/07/2010 21:59

zippys · 23/07/2010 08:11

Morning everyone, I am so glad its Friday - I am knackered!

Halo sorry for short post last night I was on my phone. How has Mr Halo reacted, I bet you are both so pleased, but I can also understand your worries. As Pixiestix said you knicker check until you hold them in your arms, and then the real worrying starts . Stick around here as long as you want. Was it ok for me to move you to BFP?

LankLegs I am with you feeling like a barren old hag (or bag hag or previously mistyped ) who drinks too much. I was really good to begin with but now unless I actually have some symptoms of pregnancy then I drink away, after this long trying you cant put your life on hold for that long.

3 children sounds like a good number, I would like twins first and then another (yes I know how mad that sounds when at the moment just falling pregnant with one seems impossible!)

Karsten sorry to hear about ERTD I hope you feel a little better now and hopefully this means you will have regualr cycles.

Gardenpixie its so annoying isnt it when everyone around you seems to be falling pregnant . I have to admit my DP doesnt know about all my TTC stuff, that and this board are my little secrets. (obviously he does know we are trying!!!)

Highheels I would test pre holiday just so you know. If it is a BFP then at least you have a guilt free alcholol fueled holiday to look forward to.

SoarAlba hi, hope you had a good holiday. You never know if you SWI once thats enough. Whiteroses got her BFP when she only SWI once. I know how you feel about lurking though, sometimes you just dont feel up to posting.

Superpenguin, hi chick, thanks for the lovely comments, its nice to know the grads still look in on us. Sorry to hear about morning sickness and tirdness.

kkas if you are lurking - how is the job process going, keeping my fingers crossed for you hon.

Looking at the list I am scarily near the top which means ERTD is looming . I also received my free pregnancy tests from the offer mumsnerves mentioned months ago. Although I dont think I will be using them, I used to advocate POAS but I think that as the months roll by, the urge to test reduces as you dont want to see a BFN.

bunnygirl80 · 23/07/2010 08:16

Just popped by to see how you're all getting on and I see halo has got a BFP

CONGRATULATIONS halo

Hope to see you one the grads once you're ready to come back across and join us

Muser · 23/07/2010 08:17

Just popping in to say a huge congratulations to halo, lovely news.

fudgecat · 23/07/2010 08:18

huge congratulations halo

The kettle is on and we have plenty of biscuits waiting for you for when you feel ready to join us over on the grads

zippys · 23/07/2010 08:19

Could someone please slap me, I promised this month that I wouldnt look at any dates. But I have just looked up when I would be due and also when 12 weeks scan would be so I could tell people!!!

CaveMum · 23/07/2010 08:28

for Zippys

I'm joking deary, of course it is totally normal to be looking at dates. Heck, I've not even started ttc yet and I keep on working out when I need to get pregnant in order to have a summer baby!

Have you decided when you might test? Keeping all fingers and toes crossed for you.

highheelsandequations · 23/07/2010 08:32

Congratulations halo, it's really nice to read some hapy news in the morning!

gardenpixie and zippys I think I will take your advice and test before I go if ERTD hasn't shown, at least it means I will be prepared either way. going to leave it as late as I can though so if anybody hears me talking about POAS shout at me to stop!

tomboy as far as I can tell the advice of not drinking at all has come about because its easier than defining 'withinn reason' or 'a small amount'. The doctor said to me that whilst ttc at least, she would not recommend cutting out alcohol completely.

zippys fingers crossed that ERTD stays away. I think they should markt tests for people that have been ttc for ages. They could be digital and have the option of "pregnant" or "have a glass of wine" as a result. And come with a big bar of chocolate included! Actually I really wish that you couldn't buy the bloody things and we were back in the days when you had to wait until ERTD was actually properly late and then go see the doctor, save a lot of tears and disappointment.

Everyone else, good morning and hope you're all well and smiling! I've been getting cramps last couple of days and desperately resisting the urge to google early pregnancy symptoms again. At least if it is ERTD starting early/on time I can enjoy my holiday, get back to trying instead of waiting, avoid weeing on expensive bits of plastic and try out my shiny new thermometer Plus it would mean the clomid is definitely regulating my cycles.

highheelsandequations · 23/07/2010 08:33

highheelsandequations · 23/07/2010 08:35

OneOf8 · 23/07/2010 08:50

Mroning All!!

Just luking, as didn't get a chance last night - BIGGEST FATTEST CONGRATULATIONS HALO !!!!

Can understand wanting to take things a little slow - but really pleased for you!

Hellos to everyone else!

Karstan · 23/07/2010 09:00

cavemum glad to see I'm not the only one still clinging on to the absurd belief that I can time conception and hence baby arrival. I've always thought I'll stop ttc ing around Christmas, I want baby to have a nice gap between Christmas and birthday! Of course if I'm still here by then, there's every chance I'll be reconsidering these ideas

highheelsandequations · 23/07/2010 09:11

On a completely non ttc note..

Have been very disorganised and failed to get an appointment for a leg wax. Have been being so good and getting waxes not shaving since Easter hols and determined to keep it up, so question is.. Has anyone used home wax for legs? And if so any particular sort you'd recommend? strips? hot wax?

kkas · 23/07/2010 09:27

halo congrats!!!! so happy for you

highheels sorry - i'm a shaver... can't take the pain of waxing so i have no advice for you on that one!

zippys thanks for asking re job. still no news i'm afraid. i had another interview last week and they said the next (and hopefully last) interview would probs be by phone with the company's general counsel, who is in NYC. but that hasn't been scheduled yet. but i am seeing the guy who would be my boss next week (he's currently a client) so i'll hopefully see what the deal is then. this is taking so long!

sorry i haven't posted in a while. i have been lurking and keeping up to date with you lovely ladies but not much goes on with me for the first 2-3 weeks of my cycle since i usually ov late around Day 20-21. i know i said i would take a break this month but i think it's unlikely we will. who knows how long it will take to find out about this job and i just can't stop myself wanting a baby. i had a dream last night i was breastfeeding. really weird! but oh so wonderful. and i distinctly remember DH saying in the dream, "baby is crying. let me go get her for you". HER! a daughter! anyway... maybe it's a sign. plus i can't let next week go to waste as we will be in hotels/B&Bs for 4 nights over OV time in edinburgh. holiday SWI is always better, isn't it

so sorry for me me me post. i really should post more often rather than saving it all up for one go....

big hello to all our newbies too. it's so nice to have new friends especially when you've been on this thread as long as i have....

LankyLegs · 23/07/2010 11:13

Halo Bloody brilliant news sweets - I hope you both are taking it all in. I can imagine you are feeling a bit apprehensive, but try and enjoy it just a little bit!

Zippys some wet slaps with a kipper here for you! I would say stop looking at dates and diaries - but I am not any better. My fave is the pregnology website where you can tap in all sorts of due dates and see progress of baby - er HELLO I have not even conceived yet?! I was exactly the same with drinking super careful etc etc - did it help - no - so I too became more lax. You are quite high up the list my dear..... hope ERTD stays away chica - another BFP would be brill!!

HighHeels I'm afraid I am a waxer - but only in the salon so have no advice for home wax strips. Hot wax is the best - much better for the skin. I only have my bikini line done and normally shave the rest - I think I would get the hives if I had to let me leg hair grow so long to wax!

Kkas no worries for lack of post - the first half the cycle is always a bit slow. Still waiting to hear about job news though? Sounds like you might get an update next week - good luck!
