Here's the blatantly copied and pasted List from the last thread. If anything's wrong, I absolve myself of any responsibility!

Hmmm, no idea what happened there, I'm on a public computer and I appear to have posted as someone else!

Karstan · 14/07/2010 18:59

Right, reposting as me now

I'm not really stressed about the having a baby side of it at all. I've been around babies a fair bit, changing nappies etc. as my cousins are over 15 years younger than me. I've got a biology degree and it included a number of human physiology modules (one lecture someone bought a placenta in - it was amazing!). I'm sure pregnancy will still bring surprises but it's not that info I'm after, as it's pretty easy to find.

It's the practical information that relates to my local area I want to find and it frustrates me that this information isn't online. I know that one of my friends can't attend her closest hospital because it's in a different primary care trust. Is this the case across the country? Do I have to be under an endocrinologist because of the hypothyroidism?

CaveMum · 14/07/2010 19:26

Karstan, I can't promise it will be the same for you but when I spoke to a nurse at my GP surgery she told me I can choose between either of the two maternity units near me as there is no maternity unit in our town and we are equidistant between the others. They are in two separate counties - Suffolk and Cambridgeshire - so I can't believe that they fall under the same primary care trust.

Why not make an appointment with your GP just to talk things through. I made an appointment before coming off the Pill to get a general check up and use the opportunity to ask questions.

TomboyWife · 14/07/2010 19:31

Gosh, how do you keep up with this thread? So many posts to read!

Still no sign of AF, but I've had a funny metallic taste in my mouth for the past few days. I know that's supposedly a pregnancy symptom, but I've had it toward the end of the last several cycles as well as once when I knew there was no chance I was pregnant (day after AF ended). Anyone know what causes it? I suppose when I've had it toward the end of my cycle there could have been something trying to implant but not quite succeeding. But at the beginning of a cycle?

Someone (sorry, I've completely forgotten who) asked how I broke my collarbone. The short answer is, I was riding my pushbike, and then I wasn't.

Just for a bit of added fun in my life, my entire group at work have been summoned to an 'urgent meeting' with a senior manager tomorrow morning. This has happened before, and the thing the senior person tells everyone is usually rather trivial, but it's hard not to worry. Unemployment is the absolute last thing I need at the moment.

CaveMum · 14/07/2010 19:47

Tomboywife this is a fairly slow day! You're right though, it is hard to keep up at times.

Symptom-wise I guess it is a question of knowing what is normal for you.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Collar-bones are not a fun thing to break - I work in horseracing so I know plenty of people who've done the same!

Fingers crossed your work meeting is nice and dull.

What's everyone up to this evening? I'm sat on the sofa with a large glass of wine waiting for Gok to start on tv.

LankyLegs · 14/07/2010 20:22

Kaloki how are you feeling? Pleased the tribunal went well - but worried about your pains!

Evil/Halo your symptons sound promising!!

You ladies deserve BFPs (we all do clearly) but would make my day if you guys got them. Plus we are due a few - its been a while!

Cave I'm watching Gok - but it's a man is being 'Goked' this week! Hmmmm

Am waiting for The Silence to start on BBC1 as kind of watched the last 2...

Karstan · 14/07/2010 20:29

I've had a general appointment with my GP before starting TTC and to check Thyroid levels were ok etc. I just forgot to ask any sensible questions Seems silly to waste her time again. Just impatient I guess.

Bleeding seems to have stopped now, so not sure what that was all about.

As for what I'm up to this evening, I'm currently watching a mega thunderstorm and wondering whether I really should be on the computer. Summer storms are ace though

alien06 · 14/07/2010 21:47

Hey caveMum I have been for a back clicking appointment (Osteopath lol) soo relieving hearing all the cracks :0)
The I went for a nice body treatment Then home to watch Spartacus thingy ( DH has control of tv tonight!) but hey god that is a good programme the men are soooo fit!!
Finish AF so back to the TTC malarkey now lol x

MrsWajs · 15/07/2010 09:07

Womanly Sorry you have to repeat bloods, hope it's nothing too major. I haven't been to Chania, only Malia (classy) and Agios Nikolas so can't offer any suggestions on that front!

Karstan I have the opposite problem with the no.2's (TMI) other symptoms I have found are coldness - that is the worst one, dry skin, reduced libido (always helpful for TTC) and my weight. I don't think it's really concrete stuff tho as I have sufferred a lot of it for a long time and had always just put it down to my norm but since TTC I have considered that it may be thyroid related?! Suppose I'll know more when I visit docs. Also don't want to get hopes up but have you considered that your little bleed may have been implantation??

Feel as though I'm jumping on the band wagon a bit here lanky and kkas but I have also felt this cycle that maybe a break is a good idea?! Maybe it's the 1 year itch!?? I just feel like I've been so 'good' and done everything I should have and still no baby! I'm almost starting to resent lack of pregnant-ness as I feel I'm putting off things I might ordinarily have done because it involves too much of what I shouldn't be doing, i.e going to festivals and getting drunk etc! I know that sounds selfish and maybe some would question my desire/readiness for a baby but I'm just getting so pissed off with nothing happening! Grr clearly night shift is affecting the rational part of my brain!

Florin Your symptoms do sound very promising, I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you! Maybe we will have a holiday baby after all!

Kaloki I'm glad to hear the tribunal went well and hoping for you that the cramps you've been experiencing are something and nothing.

Welcome to cherrytomato hope you've settled in fine and you stay here is short and sweet!

Sorry I know I've missed a heap of you but my brain has turned to mush and I need to go to bed now! Final 8th night tonight then 6 days off - yippeeeeeee

MrsWajs · 15/07/2010 09:10

Sorry kaloki just read that back and I didn't mean to sound dismissive of your cramping, I just mean that I hope it's nothing serious.x

Karstan · 15/07/2010 09:28

I know the opposite problem is more normal for hypo, I think they were prob testing me for hyper.

In the end they reckoned the hypo meant I wasn't digesting stuff properly so too many nutrients ended up in the bowel which upset bacterial balance.

Tiredness I'd attributed to doing too much and getting older, dry hair = too much swimming, being a bit down = having to move back to my parents after living abroad, cold all the time = always been a bit nesh, hair not really growing on legs = I wasn't complaining!

Re: the bleeding, I think it's too early for implantation bleeding, at 5 dpo

Anyway enough about me,

Fingers crossed for you Florin

Good news about the tribunal kaloki, must be a relief

alien enjoy the fun bit ahead

Kaloki · 15/07/2010 10:08

MrsWajs Don't worry, didn't sound dismissive

Pains are still going strong and no sign of ERTD. The GP has given me painkillers that are meant to ease the cramps, he seems to think that easing the cramps will bring on ERTD and hopefully stop the cramps. Can't help feeling a little cynical about that. But we shall see, I'm going to try and get an appointment tomorrow to see him.

LankyLegs · 15/07/2010 10:59

MrsWajs I totally know what you mean. We are heading to a festival in a few weeks and dont want to be on the sodding 2 week wait and not drink, only to then find out shitty period arrives a few days later. So not sure I am going to bother with temping and just give it a break. Starting to feel quite fed up of it and it would just be nice to forget about it for a change.

I think you should book what you want to and just let your hair down to be honest. When the little buggers arrive you won't be able to do any of that!

Kaloki are your cramps bad enough to warrant you to go to A&E? Just thinking what you said about an ectopic, hopefully it's not that - but jsut worried that you seem to fobbed off. Tell me to shut up if I am talking crap.

CaveMum · 15/07/2010 16:20

Hmm, slow news day today.

If anyone is in need of a laugh I've just read the strangest funniest thread I think I have ever seen.

It is several months old but someone linked to it on the "Which Thread Got You Hooked on Mumsnet" thread.

er-to-move enjoy

CaveMum · 15/07/2010 16:21

Grr, that didn't work!

Trying again

Florin · 15/07/2010 22:28

cavemum that is such a cute post you linked to although makes me more desperate to have kids they do some really cute things!
I am knacked but then had a very tiring long weekend even ended up going to bed as soon as I got in last night from work at 6pm and had an hours nap! Today I had extremely mild stomach cramps though so now not feeling very hopeful
I second Lankylegs might as well get on and enjoy ourselves while we can. None of us know how long it will take and silly to miss out on things playing the "what if" game. Hard though. We are talking about going on a big family holiday with my parents and my dsis and bil next summer however I have no idea if there will be 2 or 3 of us joining or if I will be pregnant. I am not planning to book it until 5 months before so we don't have to miss it if I am heavily pregnant however we are going to plan it all out with them so we are ready to book. If we didn't and then they are went and we didn't and we still were not pregnant we would feel very fed up and left out!

Kaloki · 16/07/2010 01:52

ERTD showed up today. So hopefully the cramps will piss off now! Onto cycle 9.. can't believe it's been that long!

Kaloki · 16/07/2010 01:53

Just to add, that wasn't meant as a slight to anyone on a later cycle, just feels half like I've been TTC forever, and half like it's barely been long at all. Very odd feeling.

MrsWajs · 16/07/2010 02:52

Kaloki Not taken in the wrong context at all, I think as the cycles go on it feels more surreal, that's what I've found anyway. When I first started TTC I almost thought (naively) how great it would be to conceive quickly, then as things progress you get a bit more realistic and I suppose prepare yourself more for it. And then after a good while you start to think it will never happen at all, although I certainly think now that I will appreciate it so much more as it hasn't just been handed to me on a plate! Isn't it funny how things work out, I remember when first TTC how nervous/excited I was and wondering if we were doing the right thing etc etc and now although that was a bit nerve-wracking it's a bit sad that I don't really feel that buzz about it now and probably won't until I get the elusive BFP!

Lanky agree that there comes a time when you have to stop planning around the will I/won't I be pregnant scenario!! Thought maybe I should add to my last post that there are other things I have put off other than festival attendance!! Don't want you all getting the wrong idea about me!! Other examples include - not booking a much cheapness Caribbean holiday (didn't fancy flying 10 hours whilst heavily pregnant) and also the ordering of my bridesmaid dress for friends wedding (incase alterations were required) sadly haven't been able to put the dress ordering off any longer as wedding is in October so it has now arrived in all it's boned/corsetted, size 12 glory, so really an imminent BFP now will not impress my friend very much!
Which festival are you going to btw? I have only ever done scottish ones - T and Rockness but would love to try Glasto some year, there's just something about the festival atmosphere that you can't beat! I really don't mind the camping side of it either - much to the disgust of a lot of my friends!

Florin Hope the cramps stay away for you my dear.

Cavemum Loved the sock monster story! Oh to be a child again, nothing to worry about except your imaginary friend suffocating in mummy's sock!! I had an imaginary friend when I was little - she was a mouse called Ellie! No idea where she came from or where she went but she stuck around til I was about 4 I think!

TomboyWife · 16/07/2010 06:45

AF arrived at my house this morning, which is slightly disappointing in that I had a (naive) hope I might be pg already, but is otherwise good news. Finally, the end of The Longest Cycle Eva.

In other news, I found out yesterday that my entire group at work is relocating next year. If I don't want to relocate (which I don't), I can try to transfer sideways before the move or I can take redundancy. I've got at least a year to sort it out, but file firmly under "things I don't need".

After the meeting in which we were told the news, we all went off for a liquid lunch and never came back.

TomboyWife TTC#1, Cycle 8, UCL28, CD1

CaveMum · 16/07/2010 07:24

Oh for goodness sake!!!!! I just wrote a long and detailed respsone to people and the bluddy computer crashed!!!

I don't have time to write it all out again but brief points:

  • Sorry to kaloki about ERTD, that sucks
  • MrsWajs know how you feel about the planning things around a non-existant pregnancy, I think we are all guilty of that to some extent
  • TomBoy also sorry to hear about ERTD, but at least the mega cycle is over

Must dash, happy Friday everyone!

haloflo · 16/07/2010 07:52

Morning.

kaloki Sorry about ERTD, I hope those cramps will be gone soon.

tomboy Sorry about ERTD and work stuff. Hopefully you are due some luck next cycle.

florin I wasn't sure if I had cramps yesterday or if it was just (TMI alert!) constipation? Hope they stay away for you though.

As for me, the days are going oh so slowly at the moment. I keep thinking one day at a time though and am standing firm about not testing at the moment.

I hope everyone else is ok and has better weather than those of us in northern England. (Wind, rain - it looks like autumn! )

CaveMum · 16/07/2010 08:26

TomBoy also meant to say sorry to hear your news about your job. The one positive, if you can call it that, is that you have a year to sort things out.

haloflo keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you. If you don't mind me asking when do you think you will test?
