Right think that's it sorted now! Am gonna have a catch up as have been AWOL a bit with work. We're quiet tonight so will give me a chance to do a half decent post!

Karstan I was just wondering if you found out about your hypothyroidism by chance or did you go because of your symptoms? You might have seen posts between lanky and I previously and me wondering if I was affected or not,I find it interesting that you have both said you didn't feel you were overly symptomatic. Of course this is just me trying to find a reason for not getting pg yet!! But you never know. Also didn't realise you were affeted too womanly or did I miss that bit?? (likely )

IfAtFirst You actually describe one of my biggest fears - managing to fall pg after a long time and then miscarrying, I'm so sorry to hear this happened to you. And really about your doctors! Must be so frustrating. You sound like you're ready to get it all sorted out with them though!

EvilG Nice to hear from you again and glad that the 6 month mark isn't far away now. Hope you manage to get some answers and action from your GP.

Kaloki How bloody frustrating having to move house after 4 months!! Hope DP's tribunal goes well and brings you some good news. Also hoping the doctors appointment goes well for you too.

Kkas So sorry about ERTD I was going to ask you whether you were considering seeing GP for tests, as you were at the year mark, but then I noticed your other post about having a break this month so I won't!!
Fingers crossed you get good news on the job front.

Cavemum I checked out the sillhouette web-site - looks good! Very unusual.
It must be so frustrating for you not knowing what's happening with DH's posting, I hope that the next 2 weeks goes past quickly (bit like the other 2ww) and that you find out soon and it's the outcome you hoped for. Also well done on being accepted on to your course!

Womanly Congrats on RFL, DP nad I are often speaking about taking up running again and doing a marathon but we never seem to quite get the motivation up for it!! Hope you have a lovely time in Crete. Which part are you going to? I've been 3 times and really like it there.

Flick What CD are you on now, it is very bizarre that ERTD has chosen not to appear, perhaps it is waiting for you to get home so no need for faffing about with pee in pots and the like?? The body is a clever little thing you know! Hope you have a safe trip on the next part of your journey, back to good old Blighty eh..

Zippys Have a lovely holiday and I hope that the sea, sun and s** help the sickness a little! Quick question for you - did you wait until after your 12th cycle to go to GP or did you go in the run upto it so you were able to get tests etc started when ERTD arrived?

Bellaby If you're into him then I can suggest Frankie Boyles autobiography for holiday reading, I read it while we were away and it was hilarious although I know his humour isn't everyones cup of tea!

Lanky Sorry about your temp drop, I know the feeling only too well! But well done on your drinking efforts over the weekend and am pleased the offer on the house was accepted, here's hoping for a speedy sale of your own!

Flo Well done to you too on RFL! Keeping my fingers crossed for you this month

Aries I suggest IBBA (I'm bloody bleeding again)for next ERTD acronym! It's the first thing I think when the bitch shows up month after month! How is the secret project going btw?

Hello to TomboyWife ugh to your long cycle but I certainly think the stress of surgery etc won't have helped matters so fingers crossed ERTD turns up soon for you. I've stuck you on the list after EvilGiraffe as I'm not sure how many days you're upto but it sounds like probably quite a few!

Welcome back to Alien06 and good luck for your observation thing today!

And last but not least my cycle buddy cherry - I totally empathise with the crazy baby lady crying! I had a little wobble with my temp drop last cycle but have to say DP was a star and very sympathetic to it all. Do try to shield a lot of my feelings from him though as I'm sure he might think I was insane otherwise, given some of the nonsense that goes through my head at times!! Fingers crossed for us this month!

Is Lipstie still lurking?? If so, hello! And also big waves to Florin and Alba hope I haven't missed anyone?

Well I did start this post at about 1am but one of the nurses from another ward came up and read my tarot cards for me - have to say I hope he's not very reliable as mine were all terrible!! I should expect the death of an older man close to me in the next year and also there are going to be problems for me and my partner! Fantastic! Off to google tarot now......

womanlytales · 13/07/2010 08:09

Aries I am totally behind ERTD

womanlytales · 13/07/2010 08:20

Mrswajs we're going to chania - have you been? Suggestions / ideas welcome
Cherry Follicle monitoring is when a woman is monitored [via scans and blood tests] to confirm the development of the egg in a follicle through ovulation. It's also used to help determine when you're most likely to ovulate. Scans are typically done from CD8 to identify the dominant follicle, measure its size and then accordingly predict when ovulation will happen. That's the theory at least FM is typically done when you're given Clomid to ensure that you don't have too many follicles likely to release eggs..thus increasing the chance of multiple births.

LankyLegs · 13/07/2010 09:27

Alrite ladies....

Kkas really sorry about sodding ERTD - its a f*er isn't it? Like your rationale of taking a break this month (am thinking along the same lines) - keeping fingers crossed for the job too.

womanly I didn't realise you were hypo either. Anyway - it sounds like you are having a better week and pleased that SWI is more relaxed!

Cavemum that's great news! Well done. You will manage to fit it all in I'm sure so don't worry. Its great to be doing something esp if your DH might be away etc? Ha - loving your suggestion for next thread...

Kaloki that's a bummer about the flat. I tell you what tho - I feel very nomadic - DH and I worked out that we have moved 4 times since last July. You do become very good at being ruthless about throwing things out though - its good for the soul. However that said - I'm sure you don't what to be flat hunting in the middle of everything that is going on.

Halo pleased your cramps are staying away! Fingers crossed they do.

Hello to tomboywife and Alien. Tomboy - ouch - that sounds pretty awful - how did you manage to break your collarbone? Maybe its the surgery that has put your cycle off kilter?

Aries I have to agree with The shadow of the Wind - have you read Angels Game? - it's just as good and translated very well also. He has another one that is still being translated (its actually aimed at kids - well teenagers but has had really good reviews) so might have to get that one soon.

Bella I am struggling to get into Wolf Hall but am going to get back into it - pleased that you said its quite engaging - gives me hope. I do get like that with books sometimes - some I can just immediately get into them and others it can take a while (I think it depends on what I have just read as well) . Have you read Shantaram? That is also brilliant - another lengthy one. 7 more work days! Ahhhhh you lucky lucky lucky thing

Zippys have a great holiday!!! (p.s - your sickness sounds mysterious - pleased you are getting that looked into - hats off to you for coping with it)

Cherry how is papacherry doing - any progress?

MrsW don't listen to all that taro card rubbish chat - honestly not good/healthy!! I hope you googled rational scientific reasons as to why it is not true! Sorry!

Hello to everyone else

Thanks to all for lovely words about sister - she is lovely really - and I do feel bad for feeling the way I do - so often to avoid her too kkas. Still waiting for ERTD but cramping like a mo fo so not holding out ANY hope. Can't believe I'm going onto cycle bloody 10 and sorry to all of you guys that have been trying for longer. I guess hitting double digits is not helping. To top it all off we were supposed to have 4 viewings on our flat on Saturday and no one turned up - so Mr L and are not getting hopes up for the house as I suspect it will remain on the market.

Anyway - onwards and upwards! I am very much looking forward to many things over the next few weeks - going to see some Shakespeare at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre on Friday, another family shindig at the weekend, lots of boozy nights with good friends planned and a festival in 3 weeks.

Everyone chant after me: must not feel shit about lack of baby, must not feel shit about lack of baby, must not feel shit about lack of baby, must not feel shit about lack of baby!

Feel better -thanks

kkas · 13/07/2010 09:30

well i broke down and finally called mum and sis last night (it had been nearly two weeks). sis is currently living at mum's house so two birds, one stone etc etc. of course they asked how TTC was going and i got a bit emotional but i guess it's good to get it out there. they also asked about going to dr's, so i guess i really should start thinking about it. i think the hardest part will be convincing DH to go along for his tests too!

cherry thanks for asking re job. i have applied and interviewed. saw them again yesterday. apparently the hold up is that they hadn't expected someone they wanted to hire to come along so quickly so they hadn't jumped through all the internal hoops to actually get the job requisition sorted out before i started interviewing. anyway, they said that the paperwork has all been done now so i'm hoping i should hear something by the end of this week. fingers crossed and yes we did buy a tiguan. we love it (DH makes out that he would have preferred a sports car and compromised for my sake, but i know he really loves it too).

kkas · 13/07/2010 09:36

xpost lanky "i must not feel shit about lack of baby, i must not...." laughed out loud re your comment about cramping like a mo fo. that is totally how i felt 2 days ago! sorry to hear you think it's ERTD though the potential viewers were probs just out enjoying the sun. here's to the promise of new viewers next weekend!

LankyLegs · 13/07/2010 10:54

kkas well done for calling sis and your muver! Why do all mum's always ask?! I rang my mum the other day to tell her about the house news - I said 'hey mum I have some exciting news' and she said - are you pregnant then?' Whatever! Just cause she pumped out 5 daughters no problem!! I guess you have to remember that they love you are just worried for you really. Hope you feel better after talking to them.

Re tests - I am dreading DH SA results tonight - really hope there is nothing wrong. I think its hard trying to persuade them - but he will come around I'm sure - its all in the good of getting that baby!

Anyway - you will so much better starting the ball rolling about tests - at least you feel like you are doing something about it. Keeping fingers crossed for you re job - sounds promising!

Karstan · 13/07/2010 11:08

Mrs Wajs: the symptom that sent me to the doctor was having lots of number 2's per day. Not a hypothyroid symptoms. But it meant I had general blood tests which picked it and a couple of other things up.

I'd actually convinced myself it was all in my head but in retrospect I'd had a few symptoms but attributed them elsewhere.

I'm trying to do the same now, convince myself that any little niggle is meaningless and not relevant to ttc. It's difficult...

Thanks for the advice about keeping up with swi, I followed it ;)

Kaloki · 13/07/2010 12:18

Off to the tribunal in a couple of hours. I'm so scared

CaveMum · 13/07/2010 13:45

(((hugs))) to you kaloki. I'll be thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed that things go your way.

cherrytomatobomb · 13/07/2010 16:52

Hiya everyone,

Just wanted to say hello and join you all, if I may??

I have to be quick as just leaving work but will catch up again tomorrow.

I'm TTC#1 Cycle 18, UCL 26-28 CD5

We have tried CBFM for 6 months - no joy. However, I have first appt at fertility clinic next week, so hopefully I can provide details that might help some of you?

DH has 2 children from previous marriage and not had SA done yet. I had Day 21 bloods which came back 43.6 - gp said it was good. Regular cycles although for last 6 months or so AF has been quite heavy for 2 days and painful so I'm going to mention that at appt.

I think I have a short luteal phase as CBFM showed ovulation days 16-18 of 27-28 cycle??

Right, thats brief history. I'm going insane now as its been so long and I want a baybee NOW!!!!!! Why cant I have one????

Oh I also had HSG done 10 years ago as was trying with previous partner and it came back clear... although by the time I had results we had split up.

Sorry I've not had chance to read thread through yet, but will.... thanks for reading!

LankyLegs · 13/07/2010 17:04

Hey kaloki hope it went well me dears. Keeping fingers crossed for you. Xx

womanlytales · 13/07/2010 17:36

kaloki best of luck - hope it went well.
Lanky Loved the chanting - did me good too Thanks.
Welcome to our group - Cherrytomatobomb Hope the first meeting at the clinic goes well and you find some answers.

Update fm me - I have been asked to go in for another Progesterone blood test tomorrow - that means my Mon test must have been low
Then again on the bright side Thursday we're in Crete --
Will probably msg in tom before the hol and then after we get back.
Big wave to everyone and best of luck with POAS -- Fingers crossed for you Halo

alien06 · 13/07/2010 18:19

hey everyone
My observation went well, such a relief!! another thing ticked off my huge to do list before the end of term!! one week left woooooooooooooooo

At least I will be full of energy

CaveMum · 14/07/2010 07:11

Morning all, very very quiet here in the last 24 hours!

Nothing to report from me, still waiting for ERTD to show up.

Welcome to cherrytomatobomb, it's always nice to welcome newbies - you can all keep me company when the rest of the ladies graduate!

alien glad your observation went well.

kaloki how was the tribunal?

Aries you're very quiet of late. Hope the super secret project is going well and that Mr A has bucked his ideas up.

Karstan · 14/07/2010 09:08

Morning everyone.

kaloki hope the tribunal went ok

Currently thinking in twisted logic. I like researching things and finding out as much info as possible but I've decided doing that greatly increases the chance of a bfn. So am trying to remain as uninformed as possible about next steps in the hugely mistaken belief that this is more likely to result in a bfp!

I'd love to do today's list but on my phone makes it difficult.

So no idea where people are, but lots of good vibes to those who are swi, oodles of patience to those who are waiting and a mountain of chocolate to those who are starting the cycle again.

Kaloki any news? really hope it went ok yesterday. Thinking of you.

Waves to cave and Karstan - stop googling Karstan you will drive yourself mad!

Where is everybody?!

GP appt went well yesterday - she went into detail about my scan and also DH's SA! That was the bit I was dreading - everything seems to be OK apart from his morphology which is a couple of % below ideal. But she said that it shouldn't be anything to worry about and since 1 test is not enough often to jump to conclusions (sperm are complex things don't you know)! . He has tonnes of count and really good motility so massive relief! Am getting him on some different vitamins just in case though. She said there is no reason why she couldn't see that were not pregnant yet - but said it can take many couples up to a couple of years to conceive and in the meantime she is referring us to a FC should we wish to proceed that way. The wait time is 0-3 months to even get an appt and then they often repeat a lot of the tests that the GP does. The reason that she is referring us is that although we have been trying for 10 months - I have been off the pill for 13 months (but we were not actively trying the first few months).

Am hoping that its just matter of time and we will get pregnant naturally but pleased we are at least starting the referral process should we need it. Its a big relief and all the stuff that she has found out along the way (cyst, thyroid etc) would not have affected fertility as my other hormones were fine, am ovulating and DH's goods are up to scratch as well ( have done some googling and feel more comfortable about the whole morphology thing).

ERTD arrived today too. Bloody yay.

Hmmm

Waves to everyone else....

Mixed news here. Tribunal went really well, so that's a weight off our minds.

However, just got a BFN. Saw the GP this morning (before testing) and he wants to be able to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. I have to call him in a bit and make a new appointment.

Ariesgirl · 14/07/2010 12:58

Kaloki, that sounds like a bit of a worry. Hopefully the doc is just taking sensible precautionary measures. Thinking of you.

Still here Cavie, just extremely tired and not much else going on except work and worry - all non-TTC related. I'm kind of watching from afar at the moment.

Sorry to hear about ERTD Lanks.

Sorry to hear about Ertd lankylegs.

I'm trying my hardest to stay away from Google but it's difficult not to get carried away! I just get worried I'll get a bfp and not know what to do next, and do you choose what hospital to go to (i live an equal distance from 3), and I read something about not eating peanuts as well as the stuff I'd already heard about, and there's just so much I don't know!

Hi, how is everyone doing? I have been away for a wedding. Dh and i were predicting everyone asking us about having babies but thank fully no one did. Been feeling awful I was a bridesmaid however nearly wasn't came back from hair dressers and apparently I was green so thought I would throw which is very unlike me luckily another bridesmaid did my make up and nails while i had a glass of coke and recovered but had several similar attacks . Plus can't face red meat (which is very unlike me) also got extremely achy boobs and tmi alert my nipples look swollen and the little bumps are much bigger than normal even dh noticed. Not sure if I am getting myself over excited though as been a stressful weekend so could be just that. No Idea when to test though as cycles were extremly long from when I came off my pill but have been shortening by a week each month. Last cycle was 37 days.
Hope everyone else ok will catch up tonight on al the news when I am not at work!

Karstan · 14/07/2010 15:03

Eek, no idea what's going on now. Just been for a wee and I've got bloody discharge (there must be a nicer word than discharge!). Now I've had bleeding between periods before but that's always been around ovulation and I had a polyp removed in May that was supposed to sort that. Oh well, at least I can make an entry in my bleeding diary which I got as homework when I last saw my consultant.

Afternoon all.

karstan Don't worry too much about all the information on google. When you get a BFP just go to your doctors and ask any questions then. Better to get it from the horse's mouth. The NHS direct website is good though - really clear about do's and don'ts. Personally I wouldn't worry about hospital's etc - you have 9 months to sort all that out! (That maybe easy for me to say - I have no choice whatsoever) Also every GP surgery is different. At mine unless you have any worries, questions or concerns they tell you to call them at 8 weeks to make a booking in appointment so there's plenty of waiting around time to research.

florin Your symptoms sound promising and quite similar to mine. Its hard isn't it not to get your hopes up. When do you plan on testing? I have no plans to just yet, going to give ERTD a chance to arrive.

cherry Poor you having a moment in front of DH. Hopefully he will come round and realise how much it means to you (just in time for SWI week.) I have bought The Help to read, its on my bedside table unopened though- I'm intrigued about the link to cakes now.

lankys So sorry about ERTD. Love your chant though. I'm glad to hear all the tests are coming back ok- hopefully your BFP is just around the corner.

kaloki I hope everything is ok and you got another appointment to work out what's happening. Sorry about the BFN too.

Hello to Cherrytomato - I hope this is a lucky thread for you.

CaveMum · 14/07/2010 18:05

karstan have you read Tess Daly's Baby Diaries? It might be worth picking up as it has a lot of stuff in it about the worries of being a first time mum.

Yes it's a bit fluffy and wishy-washy in places but there are also some little gems of info on what to expect. My best friend (one of only 2 RL people who know we are about to start ttc) bought it for me for my birthday in May.

I think it is only natural to stress about pregnancy and having a small person to look after. Goodness knows that the lovely ladies on this thread have talked me down on matters of what not to eat/drink and how to cope with a newborn. Up until 2 weeks ago I'd never even held a baby and I've certainly never changed a nappy!

I also have "What to Expect When Your Expecting" which has lots of useful advice and also a week by week breakdown of pregnancy and what to expect.

Finally, we have the First Time Frolickers Graduate Thread in the ante-natal forum on this site. All of the ladies on this thread that have gained their BFPs make their way over to the thread and you can share tips and advice on handling pregnancy. If you pop over now you can read about the lovely spirael who seems to have had the perfect birth and the perfect baby - sleeping 8 hours a night at just a few weeks old!

Staying stress free is easier said than done and we've all had wobbly moments, but we are all here for support as and when it is needed.
