congrats superpenguin so happy for you!!!

halo thanks for asking how i am. FF has now recorded ov on monday for me and we did get two good SWI seshes in over the weekend so i think i'm in with a chance. of course that makes things rather complicated since i am still waiting to hear about that job offer... but i don't expect that to come through until the end of the month so hopefully will know whether pg or not first and can make a decision based on that. just 10 days to go in this horrid TWW! sending sexy vibes to you!

zippys · 01/07/2010 12:03

congrats superpenguin a line is a line. Although have to admit a little . It really is quite peculiar how some people get pg so quickly and others take forever!! - sorry hope that doesnt sound all negative and horrible. I am really pleased for you, I hope you dont think I am being a cow.

claire lovely to hear from you and glad you are feeling a little better.

No real news from me, just trying to relax a little this cycle but a little while off OV so it may not last. oh and ultra sound appointment has come through so just to arrange for SA to be done and then all tests done.

Good luck team aries and kkas

Anyway have to run, massive wave to everyone else.

LankyLegs · 01/07/2010 12:51

Just popping in quickly to say great news Penguin its been a few weeks since the last BFPs so about time for another one! Hope the line gets progressively stronger. And well done you - first try and pregnant! That's the way to do it.

Zippys you are not being a cow - I think we all feel the same - very happy for everyone on here but at the same time you get the whole 'when me' thing. Its not easy I know.

We sound like we are in the same situation. DH did his SA on Friday - was really quite amusing as you have to get the sample to the hospital within an hour. I left him to go to work while he has a 'peruse' of literature on the web.... and then he went on his little mission darting across London to get the sample there on time! I have my Scan next Wednesday and just had some test this morning to check there is nothing else going on (swabs for STDs - yuck!) I guess its best to rule out anything! Although have not been SWIing with anyone else other than DH for the last 4 years! Anyway - you have just got to think at least you are moving things on - and hopefully will get clean bill of health and if not its great they find out now and try and do something about it - well that's what I keep telling myself.

Kkas sounds like you timed things well with the sessions! Don't worry about the new job thing so much - is there every a right time? Sod's law you will get pregnant and get the new job now.... ! (Hope you do)

MrsWajs Waaaah! I would be going just as mental - hope the temp stays up!

Halo did you manage to get down with it last night? Sounds like you have it covered off though with the timing though. I am probably Ov-ing as we speak - line yesterday - super strong line this morning and now getting slightly lighter line. Managed it on CD 11, CD12, CD15 and this evening hopefully . Ok - your shopping session sounded like hard work. Men are rubbish at these things - but we all give them another try don't we thinking 'of course they will love shopping this time'. My DH strangely likes shopping - but we rarely ever go - maybe once a year together at the most when he does his annual bulk purchase and buys 3 different colours of the same shirts, trousers and pants - you know how they shop girls. Its boring!

Tara for now!

CaveMum · 01/07/2010 18:07

Evenin' all!

Any more news SP? As others have said a faint line is still a line. Perhaps you should test again in a few days with one of the expensive fancy tests - don't they say that the HCG (or is it HGC?!) levels double every day?

zippys I don't think you're being a cow at all, we all get those feelings.
Fingers crossed for your tests, and yours Lanky

Well I acheived a milestone today - holding a baby! My sort-of colleague came in to the office this afternoon with her daughter who is 4 weeks old. All the other ladies (6 children and 3 grandchildren between them) had a cuddle first and then before I knew it she was thrust into my arms!

Despite my fears (and visions of screaming/vomiting/ dropping!) it was fine. She was very well behaved and slept the whole time, despite being made into a game of pass the parcel!

So relief all round - I have some maternal instincts!

Have a good evening all - happy SWI-ing/symptom spotting or what ever else you are up to!

Ariesgirl · 01/07/2010 18:35

I seem to be starting ERTD five to seven whole days sooner than I should be. WTF is going on? Don't say implantation bleed at me or I'll cry. Could possibly be stress, I don't know. And I also feel crampy and bleurgh, in fact not remotely different to normal monthly crap. This was supposed to be my month - I started the bloody thread and everything.

OP posts:
CaveMum · 01/07/2010 18:52

Aries (((hugs))) sorry to hear that your body is playing at silly buggers. Have you been temping at all?do you know when you ovulated?

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Hermya321 · 01/07/2010 19:01

COngratulations SuperPenguin that is FANTASTIC news!!!!

Whenever you feel ready, you can come and say hello to us on the grads thread.

I hope you're getting over the shock .

Ariesgirl · 01/07/2010 19:03

No, I don't know. I don't even know if I did. I never wanted to go down the whole charting route as I didn't think it was for me. I took my temp a few mornings in a row and it was so all over the place I lost patience and DH just thought I was being stupid.

God, I'm so fed up with the whole bloody business. It shouldn't be this difficult. Sorry if this is insensitive to anyone who's having real difficulties, but at the moment I need to vent, and this is the only place I can. I know we only did it once this month, so I wasn't expecting to be pregnant really, but it's the early arrival of ERTD that's really pissed me off. It's as though my body is just laughing at me. I went back to the place I used to work yesterday and ran into one of the cleaners I used to get on well with, and she asked if I had any little ones yet, and I could hardly reply. Bless her - she's lovely and got the message immediately. And OH is away doing highly dangerous things for two days (don't ask) - not that he's much bloody use when he's here.

How do fat, smoking, beer swilling, lard eating chavettes get pregnant, and I can't? Sorry for the self pity. I'll stop.

OP posts:
CaveMum · 01/07/2010 19:30

Aries please don't apologise for feeling this way - it is normal.
Have you any wine/cake/ice cream in the house? If so tuck in.

I don't feel qualified to comment on your situation, and I certainly don't want to say anything patronising but please know that I understand how frustrated you must feel and that ranting/shouting/crying is perfectly understandable.

haloflo · 01/07/2010 19:38

Aires I'm not sure if you want answers but I thought I'd look. It could be some anovulatory bleeding and stress this cycle could have led to you not ovulating? I know thats not a good answer but I thought I would put it out there.

Ariesgirl · 01/07/2010 19:59

Don't want that answer! . Want to be 24 and super-fertile (and gorgeous and sexy and intelligent and married to someone with more knowledge of women than could be written on the back of a postage stamp). WAAAAAAAAAHHH!

Ariesgirl · 01/07/2010 20:00

Evening All

Superpenguin - many contrats. Fantastic news and so pleased that your shagathon paid off! Lucky you on Cycle 1 as well!

Can't believe O2 briefly cut me off the internet today - I didn't know what I was going to do without access to my beloved MN!

Haloflo - sorry to hear about your fight on your night away. I haven't yet gone back to Bikram Yoga despite my best intentions - got sidetracked by drinks in the sun yesterday which has left me feeling tired today. However I will definitely go back next week! Keep us posted on any symptoms during your 2WW!

oneof8 and lucky - it's so lovely to hear from you both and so glad that things are progressing well. How time flies!. Lucky - having just read what you said about Bikram it has inspired me to go more often!

MrsW - feeling hopeful for you.

Lanky - LOL at your husband on his sample mission! I wonder how my DH would react to that. Well done on your well timed SWI this month. Fingers crossed for you

I hope that your tests go well Lanky and Zippys

Cavemum - all that free champagne sounded lovely - glad you were able to tuck in and enjoy . Also pleased that you are getting a plan of action sorted out

Aries - you poor thing feeling fed up. Seems to be no logic in any of this.. Sorry to hear that MrA is away as well. You are certainly in the right place to rant and so many of us in here have challenges of various shapes and sizes. You can share my bottle of wine with me if it helps xxx

Hello to everyone else

You know what the worst thing I've seen recently is? An advert for a comedy about a unexpected pregnancy. WTF? Surely there is nothing funny about that in any way. It hurts to watch that advert. I may have to stop watching friends so it doesn't catch me unawares.

Anyway I'm off for a run. Just in case they start giving out babies to those who put in effort I want to be at the front of the queue.

haloflo · 01/07/2010 20:39

Argh me exercising wasn't intended to make anyone feel bad so I hope it hasn't.

Ariesgirl · 01/07/2010 20:51

Well it makes ME feel bad halo! That I'm lazy and sat on my lardy arse, drinking wine while you make an effort to keep fit. Whatever next?

OP posts:
superpenguin · 01/07/2010 21:00

back for an update.

Haloflo sorry to hear about the hotel let down. Yes men are notoriously crap at shopping, mine is just the same.

MrsW I don't understand the temp thing at all, just seems like a list of random numbers so well done you! but those symptoms sound promising!

kkas double good-luck vibes on the job offer and the ttc, hope it all works out for you.

Zippys and Lanky - good luck with all the tests and whatnot and hope you find the answers.

Aries sorry to hear about the early ERTD and totally with you on the chavettes crapness. Rant all you like!

Bellaby I too would be lost without the internet! (scared emoticon at the mere thought)

Thanks everyone for their congratulatory words. It still doesn't seem real to me and I'm not 100% sure yet - I'm sure I'll do a zillion more tests and it will turn out to be my imagination!

Zippys I don't blame you at all for feeling like that, I would be the same if it were the other way round.

If it IS a positive I really can't believe how lucky I am for it to have happened so quickly, I really thought it would take longer.
Looks like all that shagging I did worked then!!!

Bellaby · 01/07/2010 21:02

me too halo

Don't worry Aries - you & I are giving our livers a full workout

Ariesgirl · 01/07/2010 21:07

Ooh, forgot that I hadn't congratulated you yet Penguin - congratulations! Here's to a boring and easy 9 months.

OP posts:
haloflo · 01/07/2010 21:32

Eugh I feel hot. I hope it was worth it because it would have been more fun to spend the last half hour drinking.

Congratulations supershagpenguin from me too! It is real i'm sure. You got yourself a shiny digital test yet? Let us know when we can put you on the grads list.

Oh a TTC update - I didn't SWI on CD15 as I didn't feel like and there will be none on CD16 either (DP is in the pub). I'm hoping that my lack of interest means that i'm no longer fertile because surely a symptom of ovulation is feeling up for it?!

Ah well. If I don't get pg this cycle I'll SWI more like penguin and exercise less.

Ariesgirl · 01/07/2010 21:37

Indeed halo, I am coming to the conclusion that me getting pregnant will probably involve Lots More Sex (and possibly less time spent on MN )

OP posts:
Hermya321 · 01/07/2010 22:07

Aries You could try reading the 'chavettes guide to getting preggers'? Apparently it involves a heck of a lot of wine (I can see you've started on this), some cheesey music, bright flashy disco lights, a kebab and at some point or another a bloke and of course your bezzie mates (I can see Bellaby is here as well) Hi Bellaby!!
