Morning!

Kaloki Sorry things aren't going to well for you at the mo, just echo what everyone else is saying, you know where we are if you need a rant/hug

Womanly Hope things are ok with you and this is just a one-off down day - I think we all have them from time to time.

Well on Saturday night I just ended up going to bed at like 9.30pm!! Very early! Down-side of that being that I woke up at midnight to find the dog curled up beside me in bed and still no DP to be seen! He eventually stumbled in at 3am after much phoning and texting! I was unimpressed to say the least as I couldn't sleep properly til I knew he was home, so it's fair to say I was a wee bit tired at work yesterday!! Hey ho, couldn't be bothered with an argument and everyone needs a blow-out once in a while and I did offer to babysit in the first place, just didn't think it quite meant ALL night!! I had the last laugh though when DSS got up at 7.30 with a rough DP in tow!!
So symptoms for today and last night include much of the same - tired and constipated (TMI?) and the dreaded thrush is rearing it's ugly head again could set my bloody watch by it! Had another slight temp rise today although stil haven't hit 36.8c but hoping that's ok. Really not wanting to openly obsess/get my hopes up about it but if I can't do that here then where can I? I think DP secretly has his own hopes up a bit but doesn't want to go on about it too much incase we're disappointed again. I have no real reason for thinking it could be my month other than I'm getting tired of waiting and doing the same things month in and month out and getting nowhere!

Anyway enough obsessing for now. Had my parents round for tea last night so there is a kitchen full of dishes calling my name, so I better go and do something constructive before I go to work!

superpenguin · 28/06/2010 10:50

Hello everyone.

Saor sorry about your BFN and your car and DP's health. Sounds like a lot of stress all at once so hope ur ok. Is the car sorted out?
As you said you might be having a long cycle so there is still hope! And I'm glad I'm not the only one who dreams about POAS!
It's nice to hear DP is taking an interest in TTC though.
My DH seems only interested in football.

MrsW you were completely right, it was way too early for me!
When are you testing? Those symptoms sound hopeful!

Lanky glad to hear the move went well and good luck with the next one!

Cavemum the house you looked at looks fab! Don't pin your hopes on it though if you haven't sold yours yet. Hope it works out for you though.

Kaloki hugs. hope you are ok.

As for me, I have had no more symptoms other than continuing slight boob-tenderness. Even DH noticed my boobs were looking bigger, (and completely failed to notice my drastically different shorter haircut)!! Maybe I just need a new bra.
Last week I was convinced I was pg though, but this week I feel I am not.
Anyway, ERTD is roughly due tomorrow but could be later in the week as think I might have ov late. I will probably test again on weds if no show.

Bellaby · 28/06/2010 10:54

lanky - Porlock & surrounding area is lovely. I was there on my recent walking holiday with my Mum. Only downside is that it is a real pain to get to and in Summer roads down there are really crowded!

LankyLegs · 28/06/2010 11:17

Thanks Aries and bellaby it does sound lovely and I did hear about the very steep hill.... can imagine its quite amusing to watch as a local all the tourists trying to get up it....

Oh and Aries thanks for the tip - I think Out-Laws are thinking about moving in the Autumn so good to know. Although I think they are going to rent to see if they like the area first before they commit to house purchase. My BIL is down there working so the Out-Laws have made good friends with the locals already I think.

Anyway - will be nice to escape from crappy London from time to time! Sorry Londoners - no offence intended! (I was born and bred in London but am sick of it! Cant wait to escape to the suburbs at least) .....

OneOf8 · 28/06/2010 16:36

Hi All, Hope everyone has been enjoying the weather?

Kaloki Hope your ok - sorry your having a hard time x

Aires you crack me up - I love your sense of humour (and everyone elses!) I have some family that way, and can confirm they are not a fan of winter visitors!

Cave the house is beautiful! OMG - looking at our pile of rubble home, I dream of somewhere like that, but I also dream of the 16 yr old Jacob from Twilight after watching it recently!

Hello to everyone else!

Ok, other reason for posting is we had the "12 week" scan today and everything was as it should be for this stage !

At 11 weeks (plus one day) Blob is now baby-looking!! One unfortunate picture looks like Joker from the batman cartoons, but was all are totally amazing - NHS and we got 7 stills!

I am now ready to let go of the ovulation sticks (which I used a few, but gave up due to cycle lengh) and P. tests - these did take a real bashing as was testing weekly during the long cycles and then fairly reg after as was in shock!

Both were internet cheapies so happy to donate to a good home, where they shall be loved and pulled out of the sock draw (which is where I kept them ) to enjoy until display a double line status!

Will have to count for exact number if this makes a difference, all sealed etc, so happy to forward. If you let me know, I'll give you my email and then you can forward on your postal address (or work address if pref) I will send in discrete brown envelope without advertising what they are!! I also promise not to keep or sell your details to any 3rd party - and my membership to Stalkers'R'Us expired last month so your more than safe!

Just let me know x

Bellaby · 28/06/2010 21:46

Oneof8 - great to hear that everything went well with your scan

lanky - I hear you on London. We tried commuting for the last year but found it too tiring so are now renting a little crash pad in London again for during the week. I really look forward to Friday's now when we get down to the countryside. I do still love London however and think its one of the most diverse cities in the world so it's quite nice having the best of both worlds.

just wrote a really long message but lost it so going to have to try and remember what I said.

MrsW - I hope that your DP is making it up to you. I hate it when my DH goes out super late - he always seems to 'forget' to text to let me know and then insists on keeping me awake to talk when he finally does get home in the early hours. Wants to tell me how much he loves me and all the other stuff he never normally says - very sweet but not always well received when I've not slept!
I have to say as well that your symptoms do sound very promising - will be keeping a close eye on you

Superpenguin - LOL at your DH noticing your increased boobage and not the haircut . I think that is a good symptom though - it was one of the only things I really noticed during my 4 week pg.

womanly - I hope you aren't still feeling too blue. We are all here for hugs/chocolates/glasses of wine - delete as applicable

No news from me I'm afraid - think I'm going to be quite dull for the next month and a half. We've put our TTC on hold until we return from our holiday in Indonesia because of having to take Malaria medication which definitely doesn't mix with baby making. DH & I felt like naughty teenagers when we were in the contraception aisle in the supermarket yesterday

I went to Bikram Yoga for the first time this evening. For those of you that don't know what it is it involves cramming as many people as possible into a room that is heated to 40 degrees Celsius for 90 minutes and trying to hold various poses. I both loved it and hated it at the same time. Have never sweated so much in my life. Just hope I have the courage to return.
Again - not something to be mixed with pregnancy so this will be a short lived hobby

Hope everyone else is well - clearly the nice weather is keeping people away from their computers unless everyone is too busy SWI to be on here

Lots of love

Bellaby

Kaloki · 29/06/2010 00:10

Doing a bit better today.

Interestingly on CD 14 exactly I am obviously ovulating. Got the EWCM, the mittelschmerz (love that word) and brownish spotting. All signs of OV, first time for a while that it's been so obvious.

Also, new word for you, "Spinnbarkeit" is the "stringy and stretchy" quality of cervical mucus at the time just prior to ovulation. Apparently.

felicityFlick · 29/06/2010 06:02

Hi Lovelies,

Just popping by from my hols to say hello. Glad you're all having such great weather at home!

Glad you're feeling bit better today kaloki xxx

MrsWajs · 29/06/2010 06:30

Aww kaloki Yay for you and your mittelschmerz and spinnbarkeit!! Glad you're feeling a little better

And yay to Flick too for getting to start TTC finally! Can't wait to see how it all goes for you!

I am a happy bunny again this morning as temp has taken another leap! 36.78 this morning - still trying not to get too hopeful but it seems to be on a steady rise now Fingers tightly crossed! Just need to get through the next few days as on previous cycles it has tailed off about 12 or 13 DPO!

Eeeee I'm stupidly excited!

Off to work - back this avo!

CaveMum · 29/06/2010 07:44

[whispers] Morning all. Feeling a little delicate this morning as DH and I were at a black tie dinner last night. May have had a LITTLE too much free champagne

Thanks all for the comments on the house. I'm not getting my hopes up but we've got some agents coming round to our house today to value it so we'll have a better idea of our situation.

Fingers crossed for you MrsWajs. It sounds promising!

Bellaby that yoga sounds interesting! I can barely function when the temp is in the high 20s, let alone 40 degrees!

Flick have a lovely rest of your holiday and good luck when you crack the CBFM out!

Waves to everyone else, must dash and finsh tidying the house!

SaorAlba · 29/06/2010 08:18

Hi all.

I've finally got time for a sneaky post on the PC. Been keeping up on my phone but it's almost impossible to do much typing as it has a tendency to disagree with me about which word I'm trying to type.

DP's health issues mean he's in pain quite a bit, and can't go on long walks or go cycling or running, or pretty much any exercising type things. Normally cysts or varicoceles don't cause this much pain, and it's taken him a long time to get referred to a specialist about it. One of the problems is that if it's one of these things that is causing the pain, there's not a great deal they can do for younger men. A lot of the surgery involves doing things that can affect fertility, so they refuse to do it until a man has finished having a family. Hopefully now he has a specialist he'll be able to get some non-surgical pain relief though.

Lanky Glad your move went well. Hopefully you find somewhere lovely soon.

Cave Good luck with the valuation!

How's it going Super? I'll be checking back tomorrow to see if you've got a BFP yet

MrsWajs Temps looking good. I'm still holding off on temping - I think I would be too obsessive and it would all end in disaster!

Hi to everyone I've missed

Things are looking up for going on holiday. If the DP's not fixed we're going to hire one, as mine's really not in a fit state to be driving hundreds of miles in. Hiring one would cost about £500 for two weeks, and although it's an awful lot of money, it's better than not going on holiday at all.

I'm kind of in a weird limbo situation about it. Sometimes I'm really worried as we're so close to the holiday and things are still not certain, other times I'm thinking that if it's all meant to work out it will all work out, and if it doesn't work out we'll go away in the tent round Scotland .

ERTD arrived yesterday (I think, it was a bit stop-start, but I'll know for sure today), so a 32 day cycle for me. I'm actually quite pleased as I was a bit concerned that my cycle would be really long. It also means that I was probably right about ov being around CD19 or 20, tis nice to know that I have some idea about what's going on with my body, even after so many years on hormonal contraception!

Also, if ov is again around the same place this new cycle, will be able to have lots of holiday shagging .

Hope you all have a lovely day

Morning all.

Bellaby doing yoga in a 40 degree room sounds like a nightmare to me! actually the yoga sounds ok, it's just the heat I object to.

Saor sorry to hear about the ERTD. Hope you have a fantastic holiday though!

Cars are a pain. I spontaneously for no reason thought to check when my MOT was due to run out yesterday and found to my horror that it ran out 3 months ago!!! ooops!
so DH is taking it in today and I am taking his car to work instead, which is rubbish as my car is much nicer hopefully will all be ok though.

I have not tested again yet, thought about testing on sunday but then decided I didn't feel pg and it was still a little early. Then my plan was to test this morning, but for some reason decided not to when I got up today, will wait a bit and see if ERTD arrives. Is theoretically due today based on an average cycle for me BUT I have a funny feeling I may have ov late, in which case ERTD might not come until Friday anyway.
Was very irritable last night though which may be a sign that it is on its way. I'll keep you posted!

by the way, does anyone know what happened to the 4 people who are ahead of me on the list?
evilgiraffe, florin, takethatlady and streathamranger???

WhiteRoses · 29/06/2010 09:33

Hi,

Just popped in to see how you're all doing (nice to see Claire). Anyway, I don't think any of you seem to know yet about our latest Folicker baby! Curly posted over on the Grads thread yesterday.

Thought some of the oldies might be interested!

claireinthecommunity · 29/06/2010 10:27

Glad you are feeling a little better Kaloki (I've been lurking to see how you are doing) [stalker emoticon]

Champagne CaveMum!!

Wow WhiteRoses, Curly has had her baby! Time really does fly by...

I'm doing fine, very busy with work, having the occasional baby niggle but also feel at the moment stopping ttc is the right decision. Can't stay away from this place though!

(sorry I haven't responded to everyone)

womanlytales · 29/06/2010 11:43

Morning all,
I am feeling better today - thank to all for posting messages.
Bellaby - Bikram Yoga sounds like quite a workout -- was Murray also doing it to help improve his fitness levels? I certainly retain a lot more water than normal folks..so think all that sweating would be good.
Thank you for the choc/wine and hugs - all helpful though I am going with the hugs for now.. Choc and Wine for after I lose some weight.
MrsWajs Fingers tightly crossed for you - hope the temp stays up
kaloki Glad to hear you're feeling better. Fabulous that you have all the signs..
Whiteroses Thanks for sharing Curly's news.
Felicity Yeah on the CBFM - best of luck with using that.

My news - I had the first scan yesterday as part of the follicle monitoring thingie the specialist recommended. They spotted a follicle at 15mm and a couple of others smaller in size. I get to go back tomorrow to see if this one grows and then eventually bursts - ie, to confirm ovulation.

MrsWajs · 29/06/2010 15:12

Another short post but just checking in then off out again!

womanly Sounds good to me, I remember vaguely my friend having the same tests as you're speaking about and I think she was always going on about 12-16mm follicles!! Random I know. Are you having your uterine lining measured as well? Think that was another thing they did with her.

SuperPenguin Evilgirraffe is still very much here but I'm not sure we've heard from Florin, takethatlady or streathamranger for a while.

Hope the hangover clears soon cavemum and good luck with your valuation.

Glad to see you're still lurking claire and you're feeling good about things.

Saoralba Temping is indeed obsessive but I like it cus it kind of means I know before arrival of ERTD what's happening so it's not so much of a disappointment when it appears!

Still trying to keep my sensible head on for the next few days as I know I could wake up tomorrow and temp be back down again and the game over for another month!

LankyLegs · 29/06/2010 16:28

Very quick one from me. Just wanted to say good luck MrsWajs hope this is the cycle for you!

Womanly glad you are feeling better - I hope these scans give you some further reassurance - will be great to see O actually happen!

Claire nice that you are de-lurking even though you have things on hold with TTC etc. Always welcome here

Great news for curly a real live baby?! SO that's what happens at the end of all this TTC debacle! Seems a million miles away........

Saor Sorry about ERTD - but sounds like you are looking at the up side already which is good - at least like you said its good to be having ERTD after being on the pill for so long. Besides - being on holiday and having fertile period is muchos better. Can shag to your hearts content! Either way - with your holiday - time away is great! Hope you do manage to sort out the car thing too. Also sorry to hear about your DPs health - hope as you said, that he can get some pain relief to manage that now. Life is never easy and straight forward is it - its a bit crap sometimes really.

Bellaby Good on you girl! I have done bikram yoga and its mental isn't it? Actually it sounds like my gym last night - 100 sweaty people crammed into room full of machines giving off even more heat. Anyway - I am liking your idea of escaping to countryside every weekend and doing the mon-fri thing in town. We are trying to find somewhere that's a half way house - 25 min train commute max - but everyone has the same idea=very expensive suburbs around London. However, am super exciting about having a garden for the first time in 8 years - isn't that bonkers?!

Super well done you for holding off the testing - it is best to wait and see what happens. I have to say even though I like peeing on sticks and I have a stash of 4 HPTs plus 10 cheapie HPTs every month I never quite manage to test - ERTD always turns up and I do manage to hold off testing too early. I feed my POAS addiction on the cheapie ovulation sticks instead.

Flick are you having a nice holiday?! Hope so! TTC at last! thinking of you and your wee pots hidden in various suitcases!!!

Kaloki pleased you are feeling better and hurrah for snotty stuff and middle pain stuff!!

Waves to halo if your are lurking

That was supposed to be a quick post?! Have managed to put off what I was supposed to be doing this last hour!

Anyway - finishing up here and then off to eat lots of sushi with best friend who I have not seen since January - jammy cow had 6 months leave of absence and went travelling around the world - so looking forward to hearing all the details . I just hope she doesn't ask me plans about babies she asked me why I didn't get pregnant on my honeymoon since all her other friends have! Will have to impart words of wisdom on her when she starts TTC!!

superpenguin · 29/06/2010 17:21

sorry evilgiraffe I didn't mean where are you, I know you are around but I just meant what's happening? in a general sort of way!

but you are right MrsW I don't think we've heard from the other 3 at all in a good long while.

womanly that sounds promising about your follicles!!

evilgiraffe · 29/06/2010 18:36

No worries, superpenguin, nothing's happening. As usual. I'm going to my friend's house to see her newborn baby girl tomorrow though, which should be fun even if I do get an attack of the green eyed monster

CaveMum · 29/06/2010 19:28

Evening all from a very sticky Suffolk! It's been very warm here today, rather uncomfortable!

Hangover disappeared pretty quickly, thank goodness. We had a lovely evening - a champagne reception and private viewing of the stallions at Banstead Manor Stud, followed by dinner (with free wine!). Poor DH was sweltering in his DJ but I got away with a strapless knee length number so didn't get too hot.

Down to today's news. The Valuations. We had 3 agents round (god I sound like Sarah Beeny!) and they all came up around about the same figure. Hand on heart it was less than we had hoped for, but the main thing is that it was more than we paid for it!

So having had a long talk about things DH and I have decided that we need to switch our focus to saving as much as possible to put together a decent deposit. That means we say goodbye to the house we viewed at the weekend. It is probably a good thing as it does need a fair bit spending on it.

You all must think I'm mad, swinging from one extreme to the other with constantly changing plans!

We are still going to TTC, though again we'll probably wait till November, and DH is going to let the powers that be know he is willing to go to Afghan early next year. The intention will then be to move later next year, hopefully after a baby has been born!

I know many of you have already said that having a baby in a 2 bed house is not a problem, but DH has finally convinced me: particularly when he pointed out that turning the spare room into a nursery is the perfect excuse to stop unwanted family guests trying to stay when the baby is born!

Anyway, enough of me boring you all with my life story! Hope you've all had a cool-ish day!

Kaloki · 29/06/2010 21:29

You know I was all positive about the OV signs? Well I've spent today in bed as I got really bad mittenschmerz and nausea last night (was awake till after 5am), then this morning instead of spotting there was a dark brown clot. Niice

Feeling distinctly crap now.

kaloki keeping fingers crossed that the signs will align for you. Hope you feel better today (((hugs))).

evilgiraffe enjoy your visit with your friends baby. We're due a visit shortly from a lady in my office and her little girl Chloe who is almost 4 weeks old! It will be very hard to hide my and also dodge the "You'll be next!" comments!

Have a good day everyone, and stay cool!

I've done it! My first stats! It was easy! After five months that is truly pathetic isn't it? Sorry to have been so lazy, and sorry if my confidence in its easiness was misplaced and I've actually completely cocked it up.
