For anyone old and new trying to conceive their first child. Lovely friendly ladies with a penchant for acronyms, charts and unsuitable snacks await your arrival with open arms. Here's the blatantly copied and pasted List from the last thread. If anything's wrong, I absolve myself of any responsibility!

I've moved lipstie from the waiting list as I see she's on the main TTC list now and on cycle 11 and not 7 hope that's right??

MrsWajs · 25/06/2010 10:54

Well I never got back to post again last night as I was SO tired!! Two days back at work and I'm wiped! What's that all about?? I'm obviously secretly hoping it's a symptom but trying not to IYSWIM?
Bit pissed off as FF still hasn't detected ov on my chart, think it's maybe because I haven't been temping consistently throughout my whole cycle although it's pretty obvious that ov has been and gone!? Pretty sure it was either CD18 or 19 which means I'll most likely be due ERTD on the 2nd or 3rd July (3rd is the day of the wedding!!!)
Just wanted to say to Superpenguin it is probably way too early to test - you are on almost the same day as me and our cycles sound similar. Maybe wait until CD29 comes and try again?
And also Saoralba probably a wee bit too early for you too, if you ov'd on day 20 then you might be having a 34 day cycle (based on an LP of 14 days)so it may be too soon to detect a BFP. Of course I'm not saying everyone has an average cycle, just imparting some of my knowledge from experience. It all comes down to personal choice at the end of the day - some people prefer to see a BFN others prefer for ERTD to arrive! Hope neither of you think I'm being rude by suggesting this and of course you could both still end up with BFP's - which I sincerely hope you do

Going to read back a few pages and post some more!

MrsWajs · 25/06/2010 10:58

Sorry super I didn't mean "way too early" in that post - I got the days mixed up and forgot to delete it before I posted. Maybe just a little bit too early yet!!

MrsWajs · 25/06/2010 11:19

Zippys I know it's a bit late in the day but glad to hear you're ovulating also! And fingers crossed for all your tests - hope they get to the bottom of the problem.

Womanly Very sorry I didn't realise you'd been through all that already before joining MN
So I take it you are on meds for the PCO? And that's what you meant by a medication free month? I'm a bit slow but I catch on eventually. Well I hope it goes well without the meds this month.

Lanky The low mood could be a result of the underactive thyroid as I know it can cause that but strange that you're only feeling like that now, I'm not sure how long the thyroxine takes to kick in? Hope you're feeling better soon though.

Aries Have you whipped DH into shape yet, I hope so.

Bunny Congrats on baby boy Like cavemum I had also just joined when you got you BFP! The time has gone past so quickly!!

Sorry no time to catch up with everyone else as have to get ready for work but hope everyone has a good weekend and the weather stays nice! Will probably be lurking over the weekend and back posting on Monday as we have DSS staying with us this weekend.

LankyLegs · 25/06/2010 13:15

Afternoon ladeeez,

Wow - baby news - congrats on the little boy bunnygirl that is super cute! I can imagine what you mean about boy v girl - but obviously super happy at whatever it is and that its a healthy baybee!
hermy how wonderful - I seriously can not imagine what it would be like to have a pram and cot in the house! Does that sound weird - you know what I mean! Seems like a far far reality. So sweet that you are sorting out all these bits!

How are all the other Frolickers today? Ugh - wish I was at glasto - best friend is there and am secretly jealous at fab weather and brill line up. Hey ho - am heading the Big Chill in August to get my festival hit. Anyone else venturing to festivals this year?

Womanly oooh it will be your time very soon - after reading everything you have been through. I have heard doing the lap often clears out the cobwebs and lots of people get BFPs. Its only a matter of time

Halo I am with you - and going to try every other day and then a few for luck nearer O. I hope you are gearing up for SWI-a-thon - good to get all those chores done before a weekend of shexy time! Although it sounds like you got your wickedly ways with your DP last nite!

Soar and Super fret not with BFNs - you still have time - hoping its your months. Hoping its everyone's month to be honest! Good luck with the symptom spotting.... and keep us updated! Soar hope the car situation resolves itself if you are taking it to France? Maybe hire one?

MrsWajs when are you POAS? Hope you have a wonderful weekend with DSS! And where are you off to for next holiday? Lucky thing!

Thanks to all for advice - I really don't know what came over me and Mr L was worried and like you thought it might be a side effect of the levothyroxine - am starting to feel a bit better now. But I spent a lot of time in the work loo trying to rectify my soggy mascara splodges on my face. It has been so weird feeling so down - really nothing like me. Anyway - am feeling on the up now thank god and looking forward to a busy weekend!

We are moving flats (down 1 floor!) long story - but we have sold the flat we live in and brought another one in our block that needed renovating - which has just been finished so moving into that flat this weekend - but its already on the market to sell - and hopefully will soon be trying to buy a house! Also viewing houses this weekend . I can not wait to have own front door and garden! All a bit confusing but very exciting to be moving 1 step closer to house purchase.

I am rubbish at the weekend with logging onto computers (I resent looking at a screen 5 days a week - but all the more reason for iphone I think!) so just wanted to say have great weekends - and hope we get some BFPs..... good luck to all those shagging.... ooops sorry SWI-ing!

SaorAlba · 26/06/2010 14:16

DP yesterday took it upon himself to discuss TTC with me. He said "Saor, I don't want you to think that we're going to conceive straight away. My mate's brother and partner took over a year to get pg, so it might take a while."

I resisted the urge to say "duh".

DP's other words of wisdom were last night when I said no to a glass of wine. His response was "Is this cause you think you could be pregnant? Well you should just do a test on Thursday if your period hasn't arrived by then, and if it's negative then you can drink for the two weeks that we're on holiday."

I suppose he's at least taking an interest. CD30 today. No sign of ERTD. No sign of BFP either. Will do a test tomorrow morning and see what's what.

MrsWajs You're right, it was clearly too early to test, but I'd just got some internet cheapies through the post and I had to check that they were working

Super How you feeling? Any interesting symptoms? Nothing going on here.

Lanky Hope your move is going okay

Ariesgirl · 26/06/2010 17:13

Blimey Soar, your man sounds entirely clued up. Mine doesn't even know what a pregnancy test looks like let alone when you can test.

His dickheadedness has subsided somewhat at least. For now.

OP posts:
MrsWajs · 26/06/2010 20:06

Oh god, how depressing is this, DP, DSS and I were at a BBQ this avo and stupidly I said I would go home with DSS and put him to bed etc. Now I'm sitting here on my tod feeling super bored and have just realised that the only nights I have ever spent away from DP have been either when I've been working or when I've been out with my friends - not entirely used to the feeling of him being out with his friends without me!

Bellaby · 26/06/2010 21:32

Poor you MrsW. Hope you have found something good to watch on tv and that your DP won't be out too late. I can never sleep when My DH is out

Love your DPs words of wisdom soar . Good luck for your test tomorrow

What an amazing day although I spent most of it indoors having a clear up.

Hope everyone has been enjoying the sunshine

Xxx

Morning all.

cavemum How was the house viewing? What you looking for in a new house? Somewhere bigger for a family? And I really hope things happen in November for you, there's no reason why it shouldn't as I think the challenge for some of us in the early months is our bodies coming off hormonal birth control and you will be over that hurdle by then. We'll all be here for you when you go for it (which will come sooner than you think - how is it nearly July 2010 already??!)

bunny Woo, I'm glad everything is going ok and a boy! That's great news!

penguin Boo, sorry about BFN. Any more news today?

soar Sorry about your BFN too. Did you test again this morning? Or you holding off as per your DP. He sounds very sweet to be so knowledgeable. I had to google the two things wrong with your DP and the poor fella! I hope things aren't too uncomfortable for him. Do they just go away or will he need treatment? I hope the car is getting sorted too so you can start looking forward to your holiday.

mrswajs Argh I hate it when ERTD is due when you have plans especially a wedding. I really hope it's nowhere to be seen this month. If I were you I would just override the ov date myself - it's a purple line which is less fun that the red one but still makes your chart look good. Keep us updated with symptoms spotting. I hope you were ok last night. I quite like it when my DP goes out. I get to chose the TV, come on MN and paint my nails. I hope you managed to entertain yourself.

lanky I hope the move is going well. And house viewing too? Oooh this another search for a family home? We live in a flat too and I keep pestering DP to move but he's having none of it and insists we wait for another 2/3 years. Pfft. I want a garden! I hope you are busy SWI'ing this weekend and have caught some of Glastonbury on TV. I have been to Leeds Festival for 5 years out of the past 8 and am a bit gutted I'm not going this year. When tickets were on sale in March I was convinced I would be pg by then. Ah well. I keep telling myself I hate camping, am too old and the toilets are just far too disgusting to cheer myself up when I start wishing I was going.

zippys I hope your ok and aren't working over this weekend.

kaloki You ok? Not seen you hear for a while? I hope you are busy with good wedding plans and dress making.

bellaby I hope your house is now lovely and tidy and you can enjoy the sunshine today.

Not much new from me, just waiting for a positive OPK. Went to watch Get Him to the Greek yesterday at the cinema - it was ok, quite funny but not as good as I hoped (controversially I like Russell Brand) Also went for a run and nearly melted in the heat. Yuk. I planned on going again this morning but we will see. Have a great Sunday everyone - I hope England stay in the World Cup although I'm not very optimistic!

almostknockedupgirl · 27/06/2010 09:24

Hello everyone! Briefest of pop-throughs because this weather is too glorious to be believed!

After ovulating yesterday, I'm now in my first 2ww. Here's hoping I don't lose my mind completely.

SoarAlba your DP sounds really sweet, bless him. My DH has taken quite the interest in my health since the contraception was binned. I'm slightly regretting telling him some of the things you're not meant to eat in pregnancy now. Nevermind...

Superpenguin we didn't manage your impressive level of shagging. If things don't work out this month, then next month for sure!!

CaveMum · 27/06/2010 10:03

Morning all, been very busy these last few days so apologies for the lack of posting.

Hope everyone has been enjoying the weather, though I must say I can't imagine coping with being pregnant in this heat! I hope our grads, who may still be lurking, are managing to keep cool!

haloflo thanks for asking about the house viewing. It went very well I think. I must admit I was a little disappointed when we first went in as it has a very small living room and an average sized kitchen. However they have extended massively (it was an old 2 up 2 down workers cottage) by adding a integral double garage and utility room downstairs and another 3 bedrooms and an ensuite upstairs!

We are looking for a family house, we currently live in a 2 bed Victorian terrace which is lovely but we've outgrown it! We are lucky enough to earn good money and after spending quite a bit doing this house up we've been saving the pennies to put down as a deposit on a new house.

We hadn't originally planned to move until next year so that we can maximise our savings but with DH potentially going to Afghan next year it means we either move before he goes or postpone it till the end of next year at the earliest, which doesn't appeal to me.

The main thing with the house we've just viewed is that it is so cheap! The couple that own it are divorcing and want to sell as fast as possible. When comparing it with like for like properties on our area it is almost £100,000 cheaper!
I will pop off and find a link for it so everyone can -be nosey- have a look

On the ttc front ERTD turned up last night so at least the mega cycle (36 days) is over!

I will pop back in a minute with the link.

CaveMum · 27/06/2010 10:22

here is the house.

The photos do not show the new bedrooms that have been added upstairs as they are not quite finished, but they are all doubles. The garden is also mahoosive! Nearly a third of an acre!

I really like it and can see the potential, but DH is concerned about how much money we would need to spend to bring it up to scratch!
Personally I would be looking at converting the garage into a new living room, as the property has a massive drive that can easily take 4 or 5 cars, which would mean the house is less top heavy.

The problem is that the sellers want a quick sale so are refusing to accept any offers from anyone who is not in a position to move right away. They already have 2 offers on the table from people who have houses to sell and our house is not even on the market yet!

We're getting agents round next weekend to value our house so we'll have a better idea of whether or not we are able to move quickly. It is more than likely that we won't be able to get things moving fast enough to get this house, but you never know!

MrsWajs · 27/06/2010 15:00

Oooh cavemum LOVE the new house - it looks lovely!

Symptom spotting like a biatch today - bloated to the max (that's maybe an ERTD type symptom tho!?) have put on 0.8kgs in less than a week!! Today have implantation ov-type pains and feel really periody but hopefully it's not the dreaded period as it shouldn't be due til Fri/Sat next week!!

Anyway that's all for now will be back later on.

evilgiraffe · 27/06/2010 17:51

Wow, cavemum, nice house! Got my fingers crossed for you!

Kaloki · 27/06/2010 18:39

Just popping in, not doing so great tbh. But thought I'd say hi.

zippys · 27/06/2010 19:43

just popping in as should be working! But wanted to pass on hugs to Kaloki -sorry to hear things are not good. We are here is you need to talk, or moan, or whatevever. x

Bellaby · 27/06/2010 20:52

cavemum the house looks lovely. Hope you manage to get it

kaloki - sorry to hear things aren't so good. As zippys said we are all here for you. Big Hugs

What a disappointing day on the football front . DH cooked a lovely BBQ that cheered me up. Plus the house is now looking much tidied than it has done for over a year!

Hope everyone else has had a lovely weekend.

SaorAlba · 27/06/2010 22:28

No time for a proper update, will be back on tomorrow. Love the house cave

Bfn this morning. Don't feel either pg or pre ERTD, so could be a long cycle.

I was just lurking around and thought I'd say hi

Muser, I don't think we've 'spoken' before but congratulations!

Good news re you ovulating Zippy, hope the rest of your tests are as positive.

Kaloki, I'm so sorry to hear you are going through a bad time, the thing with your Dad a few pages back really hit a nerve with me. DH and I were married four years ago and it brought out so much family politics that I was glad when the day was over. Don't get me wrong it was a wonderful day but some of the guests, supposedly close family, did and said things during the run up to and on the day that I will never forgive or forget. The two of you enjoy your day and remember the most important thing is your life together afterwards, not just 'the' day - best wishes for all your wedding plans

Hello to everyone else, I'm sure I'll be popping by from time to time - mumsnet is a great place ttc or not!

Hey everyone,

How are we all? Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend - gorgeous wasn't it? I am not going to mention the crapball situation.

Kaloki Sorry to hear you are not feeling great. Feel free to vent here....

Hello Claire where have you been? Hope you are well - keep us posted on your news!

Soar sorry about BFN - still hope yet since ERTD hasn't arrived yet? Your DP sounds very clued up about it all. That is most definitely good in this situation!

Cave Shexy house lady! Loving it! good luck with that! Have just realised how stressful house buying, viewing etc is. After dealing with flats for the last 7 years am starting to realise that house purchasing is a whole different ball game and you have to keep your wits! Keep us posted on how you go with it - love the kitchen!

Almost - first 2WW hey? Lets hope its your last - from my experience it can be nail biting to obsessive! I hope you manage to get the equilibrium on symptom spotting and keeping sane

Halo have you got a positive yet? Hope the SWI is going well ! I haven't had one yet either but don't think I will be ovulating until Thursday. Keeping fingers crossed for this month for us. Although now on to cycle 9 I am feeling a bit more 'bah' about it. Almost getting a bit bored of not getting pregant and all the symtom spotting etc. Do you know what I mean? Just going to keep doing what we do and what will be will be.

Our move down 1 floor to the other flat went well - although was criminal being indoors a lot of Saturday. We did see a gorgeous house and we are thinking about putting in an offer but now sure yet. Anyway we were at the Out-Laws yesterday in Kent and they drop a bombshell on us telling us they are moving to the SW!! We are looking at houses more towards Kent as it is half ways between both our sets of parents. I guess at least we will an excuse to head to the SW for long weekends - which will be lovely as I love it down there! Does anyone know Porlock? I have never been there -but looks gorgeous - I think it is near Minehead.

Bye for now

Hi Lanky, Exmoor is very lovely and Porlock is great if you like very steep hills. Useless fact of the day: I believe it is home to the steepest A road in Britain. It's full of terrified middle-aged tourists gripping wild-eyed to their steering wheels. I don't know about actually living there though - Exmoor, though beautiful and wild, can be terribly bleak and lonely in the winter and the locals hibernate and don't talk to incomers between the months of October and April. In fact, I think they sacrifice unwary passers-by and hang their innards from yew trees.

I just made that bit up, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did .

Hello,
Just popping in briefly to say hello. Am feeling blue which is weird - so am keeping this brief with a promise to catch up later in the week.
Fingers crossed for all those POAS.
