Hi girls, this is the new, combined thread. I figured that only those lucky enough to manage it this month would make it into spring, so I'm aiming for a big summer belly. Good luck to all of us!

MandM, do another test. With DS I had a very faint line on the first test and tried a different one. That came back pregnant!!!!

Either that or if you can manage try another one tomorrow. How late are you? Sorry if you have mentioned this earlier.

Dana · 18/08/2005 10:44

BTW, I knew you wouldn't last til CD38

MandM · 18/08/2005 10:47

I had intended to last until CD38...really...

LilacLotus · 18/08/2005 10:47

oh mandm, i really don't know, i've never had faint lines... i really hope it'll be a BFP for you!!!

munz · 18/08/2005 10:50

M&M - firstly calm down! secondly an evap line typically has no colour to it (so they say) most test say to disreguard the results after 10 mins, what type test was it u did?

fwiw, I tested with this PG at 9pm got a v faint line after about 8 mins, and am now 10+6 with the viable PG and heard the heat beat, so i'd say the chance are v strong, but try to relax and do another test tomorrow (if u can hold off!)

good luck thou will watch this now closely!

MandM · 18/08/2005 10:56

It was an Asda own brand one. (Got a positive with this make when PG with dd, so thought it was a safe bet)

I'm going to try and wait until Saturday morning before doing the next one! (Stop laughing...I am really...!)

I'm on CD30, but last two cycles, since coming off the pill, have been 33 and 38 days. Normally a very regular 28 day cycle, even without the pill.

Going to feel like a real drama queen if this all turns out to be a false alarm

munz · 18/08/2005 11:00

don't be daft M&M fingers crossed for u hon.

jersey · 18/08/2005 11:26

Fingers crossed, good luck for sat

jersey · 18/08/2005 11:28

Can I ask what is probably a silly question, but I've not used ovulation kits before, when do you use them? Is it just around when you think you should be ovulating? I'm thinking about using them this time as I used temp charting last time, but not sure it will work this as I'm usually up in the night with DS.

Can anyone help?

Dana · 18/08/2005 11:54

Jersey, I haven't used ov kits myself, but as far as I know you use them at the time you think you will ovulate. I think you can get them in packs of 5 or 7 so that you can start on the earliest day you think likely and then keep going till you get a positive. Also think they come with a guide on when to start using them. Sure someone else will be able to tell you more about it.

MandM, just a thought.... if you abandoned your test after 3 min., I suppose there could be a chance that the line came up within the time limit!? Very excited for you, but won't know your result before Monday - arghhhh (unless off course you do a sneaky test tomorrow )

jane313 · 18/08/2005 12:21

Good luck to everyone testing or trying. I just got some ov kits from ebay, a packet of 20 so I will try about a week after af and see what happens. am also using a salvia test kits but that a bit confusing. Have armed myself with most of the herbs, vitamins and crystals recommended on here, just need a bit of stamina now!

MandM · 18/08/2005 12:28

Jersey - I've never used Ov kits either sorry, but I know there are a lot of people on here who have and will be able to advise you. Might be worth searching through some old threads on the TTC board to see what advice there is on there.

Dana - don't worry, I won't be back on MN until Monday myself anyway, so you will be one of the first to know!!! Really going to try not to do it until Saturday, but I'd check on here tomorrow just in case!

Got a date with Noddy and Big Ears on Saturday. Is anyone else doing anything exciting this weekend?!

Dana · 18/08/2005 12:43

Lucky you, meeting Noddy. I think he is pretty cool, but DS isn't too fussed

No exciting plans for the weekend but having a barbeque with the neighbours tonight. Have to find some excuse for not having the 1/2 bottle of wine, I normally would - just in case .

lovecloud · 18/08/2005 14:21

Worriedbev · 18/08/2005 15:16

I hope you dont mind me joining you now that I am pregnant. Did two tests and both positive so only a month pg, but got my first midwifes appointment on 16th September. did anyone else have funny tummy aches when they were first pg and a really bloated tummy. I feel about 4 months pg already, ridiculous. The tummy aches are strange, like stretchy pains if you know what I mean.
Bev

homemama · 18/08/2005 20:59

You're welcome to join us WorriedBev, but you do know this is a TTC thread and that none of us are actually pg yet. Not that we know of
I had constant niggly pains when pg with DS, so don't worry too much.
You may want to join one of the ante natal threads. (though you're welcome to stay)
Good luck with the pregnancy!

What do you make of this? I wouldnt be due until next wednesday and was told by ivf clinic not to test til a week Saturday 27th. Curiousity got the better of me with me aches and pains and all and i did a test this morning. Its very much a bright positive. Cos i tested early does that mean it could be false positive. (I had Embryo transfer last thursday, naturally, no drugs) Im pleased but confused as to why it should be such a strong positive. (unless of course i have succesfully implanted the 3 embryos and am getting treble the hormones expected) gulp!

Littlestarsweeper · 18/08/2005 21:44

Not sure whether to jump up and down with glee or proceed with caution!

jane313 · 18/08/2005 21:44

Could you find out why they told you not to test?

Littlestarsweeper · 18/08/2005 21:50

Well, the clinic i used seem a bit to busy to remember me with me legs wide open last thursday! I rang the nurse who assisted the transfer and she was referring to all sorts totally unrelated to me. For instance.. she said you must not test early because of the drugs you take can give false pos. I wasnt taking any. I have been told before that the hormones that give you the pos reading wouldnt normally kick in until after period is due anyway. So its all a mystery leaving with the conclusion that if all three have implanted OMG! it could be a stronger level of hormones giving me a early pos. Just wondered if anyone else has had similar, not neccesarily on ivf but naturally.

Littlestarsweeper · 18/08/2005 21:52

course all this meandering could of been avoided if i had done as i was told and carried out the test when told (a week saturday)
