Hi girls, this is the new, combined thread. I figured that only those lucky enough to manage it this month would make it into spring, so I'm aiming for a big summer belly. Good luck to all of us!

Yay I got a smily face on my OPK this morning - I know it's not a guarantee that I will OV but it would be so good to get a BFP on my last try before starting Clomid

Artoo · 16/08/2005 08:54

Lovecloud,

Are you tracking your temperatures with fertilityfriend, or just getting it to predict ovulation based on your cycle length?

If you're predicting without using temperatures, there's a good chance it won't be accurate. Also remember that sperm can live for up to 5 days (I think), so if you bd-ed at the weekend and ovulated on Tuesday you'd still be in with a shot.

There's some good information on fertilityfriend on ways to check your fertile signs with your CM - look for "egg-white" consistency to indicate most fertility.

I'm using fertilityfriend to track my temperatures, and it's learning what my cycle looks like and predicting my ovulation days. All you need is an oral thermometer, and the discipline to take your temperature at roughly the same time each day before you get out of bed.

Hope this helps, and fingers crossed that your bd-ing will come to something

Hugs,
Artoo.

lovecloud · 16/08/2005 12:12

Hi Artoo

Ferilityfriend.com is just basing it on my cycle dates so like you say it will not be very accurate.

We bd a few times the end of last week and the weekend before and then on Saturday and yesterday so either side really. If i did ovualate on tuesday then and i was pregnant it would most probably be a girl right? I was going to try for a biy for a bit fun but when it came down to it, we wanted felt like having sex on the wrong days so and just thought we would see what happens. I am not really bothered as long as I have a healthy BABY!!!!!!!!!! Most of my friends have boys and are pregnant with girls so they all want my dd's clothes.
How are things with you?
Have to say i know it would be too early to feel pregnant but I have been weeing for England, feel like I need to go as soon as I drink or move around.

Artoo · 16/08/2005 13:14

Ooooh I hope that's a good sign lovecloud

No progress here, still waiting for my smear results. I was told 6-8 weeks, and it's 6 weeks on Thursday, so here's hoping for something soon.

Been tracking my temperatures on fertilityfriend for the last month, so I have a feel for my cycle; it's predicting my fertile time to be next week, so if the NHS get a move on we might be on for this cycle, if not it'll be next month.

Hugs,
Artoo

sarjon · 16/08/2005 13:42

Hi, just thought I'd let you all know I got my af this morning so fingers crossed for another month of trying !!!!

Hope everything is ok with everyone? I apologise I don't have time to read all the new posts now but will do tonight xx

MandM · 16/08/2005 14:17

Oh Sarjon . What CD were you on? Good luck for next month

Hello to Twirl and anyone else who has joined this thread since last time I posted - which feels like ages ago!

Lovecloud - the weeing thing definitely sounds like a good sign! I'm exactly the same, plus my boobs are really heavy and 'full' feeling IYKWIM.

On CD28 today, so the big countdown is on. Got AF on CD33 first month of trying and CD38 last month. Am going to hold off from testing until at least CD40 (I think )

Roobedoo · 16/08/2005 15:13

Ooh MandM and Lovecloud - how exciting! I will be keeping an eye on you two...

sarjon · 16/08/2005 23:16

I was on CD45 - I am fairly irregular and never know that exact date my af is due but this was quite a long one for me.

Am using fertilityfriend as well and am thinking of starting to take temps as working out my ov days is a bit difficult!!

sarjon · 16/08/2005 23:25

Got my fingers crossed for both lovecloud and MandM!!

Dana - do you keep track of your temps when you have a long cycle? I noticed you said your cycle was 45 days as well.

Artoo - good luck with results, heres hoping the NHS are actually punctual for you!!

I apologise if I've missed anyone who is testing soon....fingers crossed for all that this month will see some graduates!!!

Littlestarsweeper · 16/08/2005 23:39

Evening all, Not a clue what my CD is as my diary not with me. I had 3x embryo's transferred last thursday and due for pregnancy test on the 27th,(if not before) tee hee Good luck everyone.

Loubie37 · 17/08/2005 08:41

Good luck littlestarsweeper, I really hope you get a BFP.

Sorry to hear AF arrived sarjon

Good luck everyone!

Dana · 17/08/2005 09:35

Good morning girls, hope you are all well!!

This thread moves fast now. So much to catch up on after being away for a few days, so sorry if I miss anything out.

Starsweeper, good luck for the 27th. (if you can wait that long )

Artoo, hope you get your results before next week!!

LilacLotus, so at your night out with your DH. Haven't had a night alone with DH for aaaaaages. Hope your romatic weekend will result in a BFP this month.

MandM and lovecloud - sounds promising, fingers crossed for both of you!!

Sarjon, sorry about AF. Long cycles are a pain aren't they Can't complain though as last cycle was the first after coming off the pill. And yes, it lasted 45 days. I am not temping or using ov sticks as it's only 2nd month and we're trying to take it as it comes. Have been BDing every or every other day since CD10 and still at it .

On CD29 now and no sign of AF. Have had lots of "Egg-white"CM the last couple of days, so maybe ovulating. I had the same around this time last cycle and AF came 15 days later. Sounds about right doesn't it?

2 questions: Does your CM change (from EW to whatever) once the egg is released or can you still get this after?
Does anybody get pain during BDing around ovulation time? It was really sore for me last night (I know, TMI , but can't ask anywhere else) and was wondering if the two could be connected....

Roobedoo · 17/08/2005 09:43

Dana, the CM is apparently meant to dry up after ovulation although this doesn't happen to me. I also get pain when BD around ovulation. I have always put it down to either your cervix being lower around this time or swollen ovaries. Feels like DH is banging against something!

Dana · 17/08/2005 09:50

Thanks Roobedoo, that's exactly how it feels. Could be ovulation then I suppose. Lots of BDing for me then (despite the pain, ouch ) and then just another 14-16 days to wait, as if it hasn't been long enough already this month!!
Did you have another scan yesterday? How are you doing?

MandM · 17/08/2005 09:57

Morning!

Dana - definitely sounds like you could be Ov'ing. "No pain, no gain" you know!!! Fingers crossed for you!

Is anyone due to be testing soon, apart from Littlestarsweeper if she gives in to the temptation?

Time for a big batch of BFPs I think!!!

Roobedoo · 17/08/2005 09:57

Yes, had the scan. 3 ripe juicy big follicles so had the injection to send them on their way. Prepared welcoming party last night and have to BD today and tomorrow. Got told I can test on 2nd Sept and not before because the injection can give a false positive apparently, so that is 16 days away - sounds like we'll be testing around the same time.

MandM · 17/08/2005 10:05

Roobedoo - how exciting! Fingers, toes and everything crossed for you here!!!!

Dana · 17/08/2005 10:10

Ooooh, fingers crossed roobedoo (love that name!!). Bring on early Sept. for the two of us.

MandM, how are you? Definately time for a batch of BFP's - maybe you could take the lead!?

MandM · 17/08/2005 10:27

Hi Dana - I'm fine. Still running to the toilet every half hour and still got swollen boobs. Dh said last night that I look like I've got 'pregnant boobs!'. I asked him if I looked liked I'd got a pregnant stomach, but he wouldn't answer that in case it got him in trouble!!!!
Really desperate to be pregnant this month (I'm getting impatient and this is only month 3!) but I'm determined not to test until at least after CD38 - whether I last that long remains to be seen! Just hope AF doesn't rear her ugly head before that day.
BTW, dh announced last night that "absolutely no way do I want twins" when we were talking about the fact that they run quite strongly through both of our families. Don't think there's much he could do to change it if there's already two in here!

LilacLotus · 17/08/2005 12:10

sarjon, sorry about AF coming

mandm, that's it, you're having twins now! your DH should know better than tempt fate like that!

i'm so confused. i was supposed to be ovulating on monday, but no ovulation pains and CM was not egg whitey. now still no pains apart from little cramps that last for 2 minutes and then go. arrghh. why is my body so weird when TTC and otherwise it's all so normal and spot on? but we've been BDing once or twice a day for the last week so hopefully that worked. AF is due on the 28th.

got my fingers crossed, girls. let's get some BFPs this month!

jersey · 17/08/2005 14:37

Hi everyone, I've dipped in and out when I thought I was preg accidently a little while back, false alarm . Going to start ttc for no. 2 xmas but convinced DH to start in November with, the unlikely to work first time reason! YEAH!!!! .

So only 2 months to go. Does anyone know when you come off the pill your take everyday at the same time, do you start ovulating straight away?

With DS1 came off the 21 day on 7 day off pill and took 4 months with help from temp checking to get preg.

Any advice welcome as we would like to get preg. as soon as possible as I am not getting any younger and want a third child as well .

my stats, as not posted before:
me 34
DH 39
DS 13months

Thanks everyone and goodluck

Dana · 17/08/2005 15:03

Hi Jersey, great news about Nov. Not long to go then
From personal experience, I would recommend to come off the pill a couple of months before starting TTC and use other contraceptive, as it can take a while before your cycle gets back to normal. But a lot of people conceive first month before even having a "proper" period, so it is definately poss to ovulate straight away. Everyone is different I guess. Don't have any experience with the pill you take everyday though...

MandM, at you DH. Think he will have to take what he is given...
My DH is convinced we are going to have twins this time, as it runs in his family + he once went to a fortune teller, who told him that he would marry a foreigner and have twins - quite spooky.

LL, just keep at it for another wee while to make sure. Sounds like you have been doing well

homemama · 18/08/2005 09:25

Morning everyone, not much to report from me really. I'm on CD20 although def not expecting to be pg this month as we weren't trying. Just slipped up one night the day before OV.

Good convincing Jersey. I used that one on DH to conceive DS. Told him it takes an average 6-12mths. Two wks later, we were staring at a blue line! I agree with Dana re coming off the pill now as it could take a few months for your body to regulate itself.

Is anyone testing soon? With all the BDing you girls are doing, someone must get a BFP this month!

MandM · 18/08/2005 10:30

Ok, it?s confession time. My willpower got up and took hike in the middle of the night and I gave in and did a test this morning (CD30).

Nothing after 3 minutes so I left it and got back in bed, but between 10-20 minutes later looked at it again and there was a definite faint pink line.

The thing is, how do I know if this is a very early, faint positive or an evaporation line? I?ve had a look through the archives and lots of people seem to have asked this same question but I can?t find any definite answers. Does anyone know what an evaporation line looks like? Colour, shape, likely position in window etc? Also, can an evaporation line appear that quickly?

This line is pink, although much paler pink than the dark line in the control window, the exact straight edged shape, size and position as where a positive result would show?

If there is a possibility that it is a faint positive, who soon do you think my HcG levels would have increased enough to give a definite answer?

Heeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllppppppppppp! [grin

Dana · 18/08/2005 10:43

Oh MandM, I don't know what to say. Combined with the symptoms you have and that it could be a bit early days still, I would say it's possible that it is a BFP (Oooh, really hope so!!!! )
But as you know my own experience of looking at a test after the timelimit isn't great.
I had evap lines on 2 tests where one was quite clear and blue (this was a clear blue one).

But as I said it could just be cause it's too early. I have seen many examples of that on MN, where it resulted in pregnancy.

Think you might have to wait a couple of days and try again. Sorry, not much help I know

Fingers and toes crossed
