hi jemma 7, how can you resist not testing, you have very strong willpower, what time does dp get home. if i was you, you know the tests would be opened. can i not even a tinsy bit try and persuade you to do it, you could always pretend to dp that you hadn't done it yet. have you had any other sym or continuing.

Jemma7 · 17/07/2003 09:18

Ahh splash - u could be testing to early - if u didn't ov til 5th then it is likely to be tomorrow or Satursay before u can tell! Be patient and try gain tomorrow or you'll end up broke!
Have to resist it - d/p would absolutely kill me if i did it without him.
Haven't really had any more symptons - they just keep continuing - alhtough since the weekend i have been sooooo clumsy - went shopping with my mum and knocked something over in every shop - this has been happening all week but must just be my mind in another place!

quackers · 17/07/2003 09:22

Splash, I do think you tested a littl early. I would wait now until Saturday at very least. If you ov on the 6th and your cycle is 28 days lets say, then prob wait to test 19/20th whci is Sat/Sun, even then you might have fertilsised on the 7th or even 8th if you did it on the 6th as the egg might have come out a little later. Try and hold off until Sunday if poss, your tourturing yourself here!! Don't beat yourself up and if you are, which you could still be it won't be doing the little one any good at all. Hope this helps. xxx

splash · 17/07/2003 09:23

thanks jemma 7, you are keeping my hopes up, i think u have all the good signs of being pg, i read that pg women are 10 times more likely to get thrush, so that maybe another symp. i have it rarely.

splash · 17/07/2003 09:25

quackers you are right, i need to wait. shall get test tom to do on sat/sun morning. thats it now will not think about testing again,.

BigBird · 17/07/2003 09:27

SPlash - agree with Gemma7 - you are prob too early. I ov'd same time as you but on a 28/29 day cycle i'm not due AF till Mon or Tues. Thats why i'm not going to test till next Tues or Wednesday, if nothing has happened by then (fingers crossed). The tests are way to expensive to be testing before you're 'late' IMO.
Maybe wait and try agaon on Saturday or Sunday morning (first thing) - good luck.

quackers · 17/07/2003 09:29

You do have some symptoms so don't give up yet but at the same time, you obviously are very capable of conceiving and will do it very very soon even if its not this month. It so easy to get a test and see and its hard to wait but get the right day first so your'e not disappointed.
Jemma 7, any chance tommorow am, first wee?????? Puurrlease!!!!!

Jemma7 · 17/07/2003 09:42

Not sure, i am in a bit of a predicament now.
It's my birthday on Sunday and am going to be with all of the family - mum, dad, brothers, sisters etc - i don't honestly think i could sit there with them knowing i'm pg (If i am) and not saying anything.
I really want to leave it for a couple of weeks before telling anyone so we have a chanve to get everything traight in our heads but d/p will be shouting it from the rooftops.
Theefore was hoping to hold off til Monday and then i wont feel bad about sitting around all of my family and not telling them.
What a pain - any suggestions?

quackers · 17/07/2003 09:51

I think it's a lovely feeling, just the two of you knowing and having that big secret for alittle while. It depends if you can keep quiet. I think for me I would want to know and keep sceret than not know, but its entirely up to u and your dh!

bunny2 · 17/07/2003 11:58

Helloo everyone, sorry about the delay but CONGRATULATIONS QUACKERS!!! I am so glad for you, well done girl! You have made me smile for the first time today.

I havent been here a while because of house moving nightmares. We were meant to move in last weekend but are now squatting at my parents which is TOUGH Hopefully we will be moving soon but I rarely have access to a pc so cant get to Mumsnet v. often. I have been thinking of you all though and am so chuffed for Quackers. And well done to you too Egypt, ovulation all on your own

I think I am premenstrual, have stomach cramps and I am very tearful (today si the only time I have cried about our lack of house) so I guess I didnt get lucky this month. Ho hum, looks like I'll be one of the longest serving members of this thread then.

bunny2 · 17/07/2003 12:00

Tillysmum Congratulations to you too. It is great to see people getting lucky here. Well done.

dot1 · 17/07/2003 12:49

Hey Bunny - I think I could challenge you re: longest member of the thread...! (mind you, I think Bayleaf could challenge me.....).

Not that this is anything to boast about - just makes me feel old and not very good at ttc....

:-(

quackers · 17/07/2003 12:56

Hi Bunny2! So pleased to hear from you!!!!! We all missed you so much!!! What a pain about the house move. Hope you get sorted soon and move in to your new house. Good luck with it. Thanks for your kind words though, appreciate it. Still linger round here more though than moving on, don't quite feel as though I can let go until I know its all ok. Very nervous as each day passes, trying to compare with last time and hope it doesn't happen again. Fingers crossed though!!!

Jemma7 · 17/07/2003 17:21

Right campers - i'm off for a long weekend now as it's my b'day on Sunday.
Hopefully i will be back on Tuesday with some good news for you all - keep everything crossed for me.

Have a good weekend everyone.
x

hewlettsdaughter · 17/07/2003 17:43

Dot1, you sound so forlorn... hope you are not too down about it all.
I am in a bit of a quandary. STILL haven't come on (day 31 for me - unheard of). Although I have already tested twice this week (with Clearblue - negative both times), I have now bought a Boots test to try tomorrow if the situation hasn't changed.

quackers · 17/07/2003 18:03

Gosh HD, any symptoms????

hewlettsdaughter · 17/07/2003 18:10

Well, I haven't had any this time, whereas the last two times I was pretty sure I was pregnant before my period was due. Have been wondering about my boobs today (do they ache? if so, it's probably all in my head). Don't know what to think, really.

bunny2 · 17/07/2003 19:20

Dot1, I feel down in the dumps too. We'll get there though, I am sure. Chin up love.

HD, good luck, do another test and let us know. We could have a hatrick!

Quackers, so nice to be missed. . We still cant move in as we still have no toilet and a half-finished kitchen. Cant stand it any longer .. Aaaarggghhh. (must be premenstrual, I am normally so calm)

Egypt · 17/07/2003 21:15

Hi everyone. Hey Bunny2 - so good to have you back, sorry to hear about the house pain in the ar... hope all works out well. Been off boards for a day too because a strike of lightening blew our elec out and completely trashed the modem! I'm on dh's laptop, but wont be able to use often unless he brings it home for me. Sorry to hear you think you've had no luck this month bunny2. HD, good luck, sounds hopeful. Jemma7 - definitely sounds hopeful.. you must have the most willpower out of everyone i've ever met! I would have spent loads of money on tests by now! I got a positive LH surge today - whey, BUT that was on an internet stick so going to try a clearblue one in a mo just to make sure. think u could be right about those sticks - was it HD? No, TM. I think.

bunny2 · 17/07/2003 22:08

Egypt, we are just not cut out for thjis internet lark are we? We shall have to post letter to each other.

I'm so glad to be back even if it is on a verrryyy sloooowww connection at my parents.

hewlettsdaughter · 17/07/2003 23:05

Hmmm, bleeding now... looks like I may be saving that test for another time...

splash · 18/07/2003 07:14

sorry too hear that hd, maybe something ws happening this month as your cycle ws longer.r u going t buy sticks this month or persona?
i felt bad yesterday evening, very short temp and almost cried. well did. felt better after a cuddle and some choc, also had ache back- which can only mean one thing.. i think i will use stupid sticks this month.

hewlettsdaughter · 18/07/2003 08:20

Splash, I have bought Persona and started using it today. Sorry you were feeling bad last night - hope it isn't what you think. The wondering am I, aren't I does your head in, doesn't it?

splash · 18/07/2003 09:42

hd no more wondering now,def came on. i would like to buy persona but it is exp, cannot afford it, we should be hitting the right time together this month, keep me posted on days you ov and i will buy sticks to confirm mine. good luck to you gemma 7 hpe it works out for you, and also the rest of us desp trying.

quackers · 18/07/2003 09:53

Oh Splash, what a shame. Really sorry. Persona would realy help u target the elusive date though. I got lucky first time using it but would have missed my ov day if I didn't have it cos it was early last month. Best of luck this month. You are at the very start of a new month and have evry chance this time. If u want Persona, put out a message/new thread as someone will send u one. They can be reset and used by someone else. However you need to press satrt it the morning of your period so you may need to wait till next month. There is always the ov sticks though for this month. The instructions are very clear. It costs about £17 for the month I think. I''m sure someone used to using them will advise you though!!!
HD, never mind chuck, keep going, new p, new month. Get the vino out and get going with persona. Good luck. Thinking of youxxxx
