Glad to see AF made a reapperance milesygirl

I'm very impatient...I just want AF to arrive now so I can get on with it, but there's another 3 weeks nearly for me to go yet

Can I ask a question? I have regular cycles (27-29 days normally), I get EWCM and increasingly horny around OV time (sorry if TMI!), I also get a +ve on OPKs and increased temperatures afterwards, and yet blood tests show that I'm not OVing. Is it possible to get all this and not release an egg every month?

I must OV sometimes though, as I got PG in January (unfortunately I had a m/c at 5 weeks)

Just wondering if anyone else has a similar problem? The specialist has diagnosed me as 'Anovolutary Disfunction'

Roobedoo · 14/08/2005 18:24

Sounds odd to me as I thought if you got the temperature shift (lasting a few days) then you had def ovulated. Poor you though - very frustrating.

Twiglett · 14/08/2005 18:26

Loubie

don't know if it helps but every female has anovulatory cycles (cycles when they don't release an egg) and they still release hormones because otherwise there would be no period at the end IYSWIM

Loubie37 · 14/08/2005 18:54

I think I must have more anovolutary cycles than normal then...I've had my 21 day blood levels checked 4 times and not once did they show I had OV'd!!

But, like I say, I must do occasionally otherwise I wouldn't have got PG in Jan?

Oh well, at least the Clomid should sort that out for me

Fingers crossed for everybody, I hope we all get what we want so much

katierocket · 14/08/2005 19:06

well I'm on day 13, got the egg symbol on my persona (although can't trust that as it says in instructions not to use if you're on fertility drugs) but I have the weirdness feeling; the same as when you really need a wee and are holding it in. That slightly painful bladder feeling. Odd. god I hope it's this month, the whole TTC thing does get very boring after 15 months.

Loubie - if you've got pregnant before then you must have oved (obviously!)

Loubie37 · 15/08/2005 09:22

I can't remember exactly when the blood tests I had done were now....if I remember rightly the first one was January and it came back borderline and that was the cycle I got PG. Maybe that's why I m/c because my progesterone level was too low.

I then had them done in Feb and that came back too low which is why I was referred to the specialist. I definitely had them done in April at the hospital ready for my first appointment and that was low too, so maybe I've only had them done 3 times, not 4.....it all goes into a blur after a while!

The strange thing is though, that even on the months I know I haven't OV'd, FF has always given me cross hairs, so I now take what it tells me with a pinch of salt!

katierocket · 15/08/2005 17:14

well we managed to BD on days 10,11, 12 and 13. Today is day 14 (have egg symbol on persona and did yesterday)do you think we should do again tonight? bloody knackered!

katierocket · 15/08/2005 17:15

can't believe I am asking on a public forum whether to have sex tonight!!

Roobedoo · 15/08/2005 18:53

It gets a bit dull doesn't it! DH and I have taken to early morning quickies to get it out of the way! I'm on CD16 and I haven't ov'd yet so have to keep going. Going to have v busy week if I get the injection tomorrow. Anyway, enough about me - guess you should keep going just to be sure, if you can bare it! BTW, very impressed by your efforts so far. Assuming egg sign on persona means its a good time for BD.

Twiglett · 15/08/2005 18:54

you might as well

can I just mention that our consultant told us to have sex every other day for the best quality sperm

Twiglett · 15/08/2005 18:55

you can use standard ovulation predictor kits on clomid I think

curvybebe · 15/08/2005 19:32

Hi Milesy,, As u know i was on clomid and although i had to double my dose it works i have 2 daughters to prove it!!

milesysgirl · 15/08/2005 19:33

hello curvy i see you getting the hang of this!!!!

Loubie37 · 15/08/2005 19:36

We were told that too Twiglett - apparently 3/4 times a week gives the best results. We tried the 'Sperm Meets Egg' plan last month but to be honest didn't get on with it - we'd rather just DTD 'as and when' IYKWIM

Good luck tomorrow Roobedoo, hope your follicles are the correct size!

katierocket · 15/08/2005 19:40

yes we've been trying it every other night (or less sometimes) for the last 15 months so this month decided to really go for it. In Zita West's book (conception / fertility guru woman albeit a bit yurt-ish) says that it's a myth about the sperm quality thing and just to do it as often as poss.

It does get a bit wearing though doesn't it ? DP is not very good and just getting on with it, he seems to think that every time has to be a major bloody event!

Twiglett · 15/08/2005 19:42

snurk

katierocket · 15/08/2005 19:42

let us know about the injection Roobedo, what does it do again? (does it shoot the egg out? IIRC)

loubie - what is the 'sperm meets egg' plan? sounds like a new type of diet!

katierocket · 15/08/2005 19:43

Twig - it's hard to be a sex godess every night you know.....

Twiglett · 15/08/2005 19:44

was snurking in recognition of 'he seems to think that every time has to be a major bloody event!'

wham bam thank you man is what you need

katierocket · 15/08/2005 19:45

god I wish Twig, he just seems to have a problem with that concept. It's like "come ON, get ON with it man".

LunarSea · 15/08/2005 19:56

Really hope it works for you katie. Well I've got a couple of (very minor) bits of good news. Have managed to persuade another GP practice to take us on, so once the paperwork has gone through hopefully we'll got some more positive reaction from them. And have arranged to see a consultant privately - he does say bring a referal letter from your GP, but hopefully he'll just accept that GP isn't being helpful, and see us anyway, as it's not as if insurance is paying to need the letter from that point of view. Nothing really that dramatic, but hopefully a step in the right direction.

Roobedoo · 15/08/2005 20:20

Katie - lol imagining 'major events'. Know what you mean about wanting him to get on with it though - sometimes feel like shouting JUST GIVE ME THE SPERM!
