The Sperm Meets Egg plan is where you abstain from sex from AF starting until CD9 (I think), then you DTD every other day until you get a +ve on an OPK, then you do it that day, the following 2 days, miss a day and then have one final effort the day after that.

But we're way to spontaneous for that, my OH doesn't like 'doing it to order' as he puts it. Luckily he's got a high sex drive so I don't have to worry about him not being up for it on the vital days, as long as he thinks he's not got to do it, we're OK.

I don't know about the every other day theory either - it doesn't work for us, we tend to DTD most days from around CD6 until the last week of my cycle by which time I'm knackered and really not in the mood any more

Glad to hear you're getting somewhere lunarsea, hopefully you'll have some good news soon

katierocket · 15/08/2005 21:33

really glad to hear you're changing GPs, Lunar, I really hope you get someone more helpful (and I'm sure you will, they couldn't be less helpful could they!)

Roobedo, - "JUST GIVE ME THE SPERM" - exactly.

Loubie, ah well, you are lucky to have an 'up for it' DP, my friend has one of those, she says he's like a battery "ever ready". And good for you for being spontaneous. My acunpuncturist (now that sounds a bit poncy) says that's the best way to get pregnant, just do it when you feel like it. WOuld take me 10 years to get pregnant if I followed his advice!

Loubie37 · 15/08/2005 22:27

I suppose it helps having a toy boy - he's 25 I'm 37

I'm making the most of it before I'm too old!!

Loubie37 · 16/08/2005 07:35

Yay, I got a smily face on my OPK today - I know it's not guaranteed that I will OV but it would be so good to get a BFP on my last try before Clomid

katierocket · 16/08/2005 08:17

crikey loubie, that's the way to do it (the toy boy I mean!)

good news about the positive on the OPKs, good luck.

katierocket · 16/08/2005 08:18

we didn't manage it last night, both totally knackered. Maybe blown it for this month but we'll see.

Loubie37 · 16/08/2005 08:53

Thanks katierocket

Do you know when you actually ov'd? With the amount of BDing you've been doing you're probably still in with a real good chance, missing one day is unlikely to make a difference as sperm can live for more than one day inside you waiting to pounce

Good luck, I hope you get a BFP soon, I hope we all do

Roobedoo · 16/08/2005 09:07

Yippee - 3 nice big juicy follicles this morning so had the injection meaning I will ov in 24 hours! Very excited. Got to BD for next 3 days. Good luck to me! And of course to everyone else.

katierocket · 16/08/2005 09:17

great news roobedo, good luck.

I really hope we all get BFP soon.

Loubie, think I oved on day 14 and BD on days 10,11,12 & 13 so here's hoping. Maybe try again today (day 15), we were just so tired last night it was nver going to happen.

Loubie37 · 16/08/2005 09:41

Brilliant news Roobedoo! Does this mean you might have triplets?

katierocket - I wouldn't worry too much, there'll have been loads of wrigglers waiting for your egg(s)

Good luck both of you (and everyone else), I really hope it's your month!!

Roobedoo · 16/08/2005 15:10

Triplets are a possibility - I've been having nightmares about it but am trying to concentrate on just hitting one target rather than worrying prematurely!

stilltrying · 18/08/2005 08:35

Just thought i would pop in and see how everyone was doing on thier clomid. Im assuming you must all feel terrible as no one has posted for a while

Loubie are you getting nervous now, i know i am, my af is due in a week and i have butterflies already. Pleasee dont let it be late xx

Roobedoo, could you realy get Triplets? Ive heard its very rare on clomid although twins is more possible. Is the the more follicles you produce the more likely you are to have a multiple pregnancy. It seems a bit odd cos if your not monitered like a few of us we could end up with quads or more

Loubie37 · 18/08/2005 09:37

Hi

I'm sort of worried about Clomid, but excited at the same time IYKWIM. Worried because of the possible side effects, but excited because hopefully we'll be one step nearer that elusive BFP. And I keep dreaming about having twins, that would be perfect for us! (But I'll be more than happy with one god willing!)

I'm on CD15 now and think I may have OVd naturally yesterday, so there's always a chance that I won't need the Clomid....

I picked my prescription up from my GP the other day only to find it was wrong...I should have been prescribed 40 tablets (10 a month for 4 months) but there's only 30....then when I went to Boots yesterday to actually get them, they only had 21 in stock, so not only have I got to get another prescription for the missing 10 tablets, I've also got to go back to Boots to get the other 9, maybe it's fate and I'm not meant to take them, ooh I hope so!

Good luck yourself for next week, I hope (for once!) AF turns up on time, let me know how you get on?

I hope everyone else is OK? Busy BDing maybe?

Roobedoo · 18/08/2005 13:29

Yes - been far too busy BDing to check in! Triplets is only a possibility as I had 3 follicles - of course they may not all have contained an egg so hope at least one is floating around in there somewhere!

katierocket · 18/08/2005 15:19

hello
no news from me. On day 17 and pretty sure it's not worked this time. I know, I know, far to early to tell but after 15 months of TTC you get very used to all stages of your cycle.

Roobedoo · 18/08/2005 20:27

Katierocket - I am feeling a bit defeatist too. I always do this though; think it's my way of protecting myself. I've decided it would just be too bizarre for it to have worked the first month. Obviously still desperately hoping though (and had a sneaky look at a pregnancy book today to see how long it takes from ovulation to implantation - not even sure why, but I really wanted to know).

Loubie37 · 18/08/2005 21:19

Hello everyone

Well it looks like I OVd all by myself this month (had 2 +ve OPKs on CDs 13 and 14 which tie in nicely with my FF chart) so I'll have to wait and see now if I'll need the Clomid. Trying not to get my hopes up too high though....been there got the t-shirt

Good luck Roobedoo and katierocket, don't give up hope yet, you never know till AF arrives!

katierocket · 19/08/2005 07:58

that's good news Loubie, fingers crossed.

Roobedo - I agree, I think it is a way to stop yourself from feeling so disappointed when AF does come, ho hum, role on CD28.

Roobedoo · 20/08/2005 08:39

On CD21 now and last time, when preg with DS, had symptoms by now so feeling very down. I didn't really expect it to work, after all, even though I have pcos we have been BD at the right time for the last 9 months and haven't managed it so why would it work this time. Clomid doesn't actually make you any more fertile does it - it just encourages ovulation and I was doing that most of the time anyway.

Hope everyone else is feeling more positive!

Going on hols in September so maybe the sun, sea, sand etc will be what we need.

Loubie37 · 20/08/2005 09:17

You never know Roobedoo, I've got 2 children and had different symptoms both times, with my daughter I 'knew' I was PG before I tested, but with my son there were no signs at all and I was amazed to find out I was PG.

And even though you're ovulating already, the Clomid will cause more and better quality follicles, giving you an increased chance each month of one (or more) getting fertilized.

Enjoy your hols, it might be just what you need

katierocket · 20/08/2005 15:43

oh roobedo, I know exactly how you feel, it's just so hard isn't it. Who knows, maybe you'll be surprised (I really hope so).

Take care & you Loubie.

Roobedoo · 20/08/2005 18:36
