I thought I'd start a thread for all of us who worship at the shrine of Toni Weschler, spend whole seconds analysing cervical mucus, slip over in the shower checking cervical position and spend two minutes every morning flicking their heads from side to side in a valiant attempt to stop a baby pulling the thermometer out of their mouths. Ladies, this thread is for all of us, may it see many many BFPs!

LittleSilver - it reckons that AF is due on 17th of May and given a test date of the 21st (yeah right, as if I'm going to wait until then!!)

spilttheteaagain · 07/05/2010 21:40

Well done IfAtFirst, it does feel like a sense of achievement to know you've ovulated and managed to have sex on the right days, doesn't it! Fingers crossed for you.

Am going to poas on Sunday morning if AF doesn't beat me to it... here's hoping...

decafgirl · 07/05/2010 21:50

Ooh, spilt good luck for sunday!

The resolution didn't really hold but as temp usually goes up on cd20 and today is cd19 I have been rather busy!

We've managed to DTD CD15 17 & 18 (he really pissed me off on CD16!!) Am so knackered after staying up watching the election but going to have to 'man up' and get on with it again tonight - I bloody hope my temp goes up tomorrow! xx

spilttheteaagain · 07/05/2010 22:13

I feel your pain decaf. It's bloody knackering isn't it! Far more exercise than I am used too

decafgirl · 07/05/2010 22:19

x

LittleSilver · 08/05/2010 06:11

yes, nothing worse than knocking yourself out SWIing and then your temp doesn't even have the courtesy to go up on schedule!

spilttheteaagain · 08/05/2010 08:15

Well my period turned up dead on time this morning... harrumph. Better luck next time eh?

Who else is in the waiting zone? Good luck to you all

decafgirl · 08/05/2010 08:21

Oh bugger spilt sorry hon.

Temp did go up this morning (woohoo) so I guss I'm officially in the waiting zone now...

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 08/05/2010 11:32

Sorry to hear that spilttheteaagain Here's hoping that the next 4 weeks are lucky ones and fly over for you x

careylouwho · 08/05/2010 11:40

Hi everybody,

I've not posted on here before but I started charting on Fertility Friend this month. Anyway, it's said that I ov'd on CD 18 (it's now CD30) for the past 12 days but with today's temp it's decided that I ov'd on CD27!!!!! So frustrated.

I only came off the pill at the beginning of March so it's likely that things haven't settled down yet but I'm pretty sure that I ov'd around CD18-20 as that corresponds with CM and CP. I was hoping that the temping thing would make it all clearer but I'm not sure now. Anyone else get such weirdness?

Thanks for any help/advice/condolences...

LittleRedRobin · 08/05/2010 19:15

careylouwho - I know you can manually overide the day fertilityfriend say you ovulated and set your own date for that cycle. I think EWCM + sustained temps would be the day I'd go for. Is it possible today's temp should be excluded from the chart i.e. did you have a very restless night, not much sleep, too much to drink etc?

LittleSilver · 09/05/2010 07:17

Bad luck spilt.

Hi carey and welcome. FWIW, the first month I used FF something similar happened to me. It's a pain, but don't worry, it does get easier!

Hi everyone, please can you have a look at my thread asking whether chemical pregnancy can mess up your cycle? I need your collective charting wisdom on this one, but posted more widely in case anyone else has had a similar experience after a chemical pregnancy. Thanks!

careylouwho · 09/05/2010 09:53

Thanks LittleRedRobin and LittleSilver I decided to ditch one of the temps that seemed out of place and was after drinking wine the night before which also probably made me sleep with my mouth open . Now it's saying CD20 which fits with the other signs so not to worried now. My temps have sort of stepped up twice rather than shot up IYKWIM, and I think that's the issue. Thanks for your help!

BabyValentine · 09/05/2010 15:19

Hi ladies,

I am new to this thread and was hoping for some advice.

I will try to keep things brief (!)...TTC#2 since January, cycles are variable - average at about 32 days, but had a 42-day cycle last September, and a 17-day cycle in February. I have read TCOYF and have been temping since January, so I know from my temps that the February cycle was anovulatory. Ovulation for Feb/Mar, Mar/Apr, and Apr/May were CD10, CD20 and CD15 respectively.

Today was DPO18. Negative test this morning. Period just arrived .

So, obviously (and tragically), when I woke up this morning on DPO18, I was convinced, courtesy of Toni, that I was pregnant. I thought that once you reached day 18 without your period, you had cracked it.

And, this new info (today being CD1 ), means that my luteal phase has been 16 days (Jan), 14 days (Feb/Mar), 15 days (Mar/Apr) and now 17 days (Apr/May). I thought it shouldn't vary so much. Should I be worried?

BTW, had day 3 and day 21 (or in my case day 27) hormone tests and thyroid function tests which are apparently all normal.

Hope someone has some words of wisdom .

LittleSilver · 09/05/2010 15:27

A warm welcome to you valentine.

Re the 18 dpo;I believe that it is only significant if you temps stay elevated for that long; did that happen to you? It's not just a question of not getting your period.

My lp varies too, I don't think it's terribly significant, unless of course it is short.

Could you explain a bit more about the blood tetss do you thinK?

OP posts:
BabyValentine · 09/05/2010 20:07

Hi LittleSilver, thanks for replying...

My temps have been 97.6 for the last 3 days which is at the low end of my normal elevated temperatures (usually they zigzag between 97.58 to 97.9; pre-ovulation temperatures are anything from 96.9 to 97.45).

However, I slept badly last night (torn between excitement and terror, I guess) - usually I have my alarm set for 5:30, wake up, take temp, and with luck go back to sleep - but I often sleep poorly, and this doesn't seem to have too much effect on my temps.

The hormone tests I had were for FSH, LH, prolactin and thyroid function on CD3, and then progesterone on CD27, which was 7 DPO. They came back as 'within normal range' and 'levels indicate ovulation'.

Going to speak to a doctor this week though, I'm a bit concerned that I have had a long (possibly anovulatory) cycle, a short anovulatory cycle, and now a varying LP. But, you make a good point, at least I am worrying about it being too long rather than too short!

BabyValentine · 10/05/2010 20:37

My temp was back down to 97.3 this morning, so perhaps yesterday's was a rogue temperature. Or maybe I would have got a positive HPT slightly earlier in my cycle, but then implantation failed - is that a possibility? I guess that must happen quite a lot, but it is only spotted during charting?

How much does your LP differ by, LittleSilver?

BabyValentine · 10/05/2010 21:17

Just had a thought! I took EPO this month from period to ovulation - could this have lengthened my LP?

(Apologies for treating you as some kind of oracle, LittleSilver, but you sound knowledgable!).

LittleSilver · 11/05/2010 08:20

Not an oracle at all I'm afraid! I expect EPO has the potential to affect your lp, but you'd have to consult someone qualified to tell you definitively! I think sometimes rogue temperatures just happen (nice idea for a t-shirt there; I had one this cycle for no reason that I can define at all! BV, I'm afraid I'm not having much joy in deciphering your temps as you are temping in Fahreinheit (are you from the US?)and I can't work them out! My lp is around the 10 mark, so I'd like to lengthen it.

CD 28 today (UCL 29). Temps still climbing (normally they peak on CD27)but do not have good feel as am a bit twingey this am. Hey ho. Am going to be really good as not test (if witch doesn't come) til temps high for 3 more days than normal.

Anyone else due to test?

Hi all. Just wanted to say good luck to littlesilver try to hold out if you can (says the woman who has nooooo patience.)

Anyway, hope you get your BFP.

BabyValentine · 11/05/2010 19:54

Not American, but I am charting in Fahrenheit - I thought that it'd be more accurate. (It'd be 36.05 to 36.36 follicular; 36.43 to 36.61 luteal in Celcius).

Thanks for your help, LS, I have my fingers crossed for you.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 11/05/2010 20:27

I'm currently 9DPO (god how I love fertility friend) and I'm getting some wierd cramps. How exciting!!!!

spilttheteaagain · 11/05/2010 22:29

Hi BabyValentine, I also chart in Fahrenheit because I think it's more accurate too. 1 deg celsius is about 2 degree F so in theory, using fahrenheit means you can be more precise with your temps, and see smaller fluctuations.... well it's my theory anyway!

Best of luck to Silver and IfAtFirst, let us know how you get on. Fingers crossed for you both!

decafgirl · 12/05/2010 20:41

Hi ladies, I thought I'd pop in to see if you could help me. I have a cycle length of 33/34 days and my temp goes up on CD20. Everything was going to plan until I had some brownish pink streaking on Monday lunchtime (CD22) which looked like blood in mucus. This coincided with a temperature dip and I have to admit to getting my hopes up a little bit. I have had some cramping too.

However, my temps have stayed on the low side and today they're even lower but I was up about 30 minutes earlier than usual.

Could this be pregnancy even though my temps are low or should I be giving up this month? I have never had any mid cycle spotting before so if it's not implantation do I need to see a doctor?
