I thought I'd start a thread for all of us who worship at the shrine of Toni Weschler, spend whole seconds analysing cervical mucus, slip over in the shower checking cervical position and spend two minutes every morning flicking their heads from side to side in a valiant attempt to stop a baby pulling the thermometer out of their mouths. Ladies, this thread is for all of us, may it see many many BFPs!

Empty - don't panic! Think positively, your hormones are clearly increasing according to the clearblue, and brown spotting is quite often not a prob. I know you've been through a lot to get here and it is a worrying time but I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Can you speak to an out of hours GP to put your mmind at rest?

bessie26 · 09/08/2010 20:32

Don't panic empty - as the others have said, brown spotting isn't always as bad as it seems. My friend had "horrendous bleeding" (her words) during her pg & has a beautiful baby girl.

Suggest you phone the drs first thing & get a scan booked. In the meantime try not to fret too much.

hippychick66 · 09/08/2010 20:37

besie26 Can't get an appointment with my lovely GP - she's just too lovely and popular.

So I have an appointment with someone else I don't know tomorrow. I will not leave without the drugs.

I have had to take the boys to 3 appointments now and they have to wait outside. The 10 yr old asked if I have something seriously wrong wth me - bless him.

I think I have defo ovulated. My boobs feel like they are responding to progesterone.

I do remember one day when the pain was worse and it could have been ov pain and UTI. That day was just after we SWI so hopefully I'm still in the game Grin.

emptyshell · 09/08/2010 21:05

Going to ring the doctors in the morning. My husband is wonderful - not all men would inspect soggy bog roll to confirm it's definitely brown and in no way shape or form red.

theteasonme · 09/08/2010 21:08

Empty, don't panic, it's about the right time for the burrowing in, implantation. I know it's hard but rest and try not to think the worst xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Well ladies, I had my first (and potentially last) appointment with the fertility people today. DH sperm is fine. My irregular cycles aren't irregular enough for clomid. I have to try for another year before they poke at my tubes with dye etc. They did give me an internal scan though and found my ovaries are covered in cysts. The only option in the long term is IVF but at the moment there's nothing they can do for us. We don't qualify for IVF on the NHS as we already have a son. So, I really need to get pregnant natually! I think I'm in shock. Confused

Oh, and there was definately no baby in there this month Sad xx

theteasonme · 09/08/2010 21:09

x post empty. Pleased you're heading to the docs...god love your DH Grin xxx

hippychick66 · 09/08/2010 21:29

theteasonme sorry to hear that you have cysts. Can't they do something about that? I hope you get the natural conception you long for - good luck lovie.

empty Dh's can be fab can't they. My Dh has inspected spotting on toilet roll quite a bit over the last year for me. It is true love isn't it Smile.

Fingers crossed that it is just the little one burrowing.

Keep us informed as much as possible. xx

LadyGoneGaga · 09/08/2010 22:24

Empty I had this with DS. Lasted about 5 days then went away. You should ring the midwife and they will get you a scan at the EPU although it is prob too early to see a heartbeat yet in any case they can prob tell you more. I know it's hard but try not to panic.

Orchid12 · 10/08/2010 09:57

teason - sorry to hear that you weren't offered more at the FC. How long have you been trying and how irregular are your cycles? I'm in a similar position to you and am curious to see what might happen to us if we go to the FC too. Fingers crossed you (and I!) get PG naturally soon Smile

Danilou22 · 10/08/2010 12:56

Hello Ladies,

I am back from my travels! I have had a quick skim over the most recent posts. I hope everyone is ok and I am sending best wishes to Empty.

As for me ..... still no AF!!! Now on ...wait for it ....cyle day 76!!! According to FF I ovulated on CD54 and I should have tested on saturday. I was not convinced I ovulated then and as I have not been temping (as on holls) I am not sure if I should be a little bit hopeful or not. I am thinking prob not as I have absoloutely no symptoms at all. My temp is up today but as I am not convinced about when I ovulated I am in the dark really Confused i can't bear the thought of getting a test so I might wait a week or so Hmm

I have to wait for AF to come before i can go for the next lot of blood tests so am actually rather frustrated!

What will be will be I suppose.

LadyGoneGaga · 10/08/2010 12:57

Empty any news? Have fx for you.

Can anyone take a look at my chart...could that dip be what I hope it is?

emptyshell · 10/08/2010 13:06

Docs weren't too worried - getting a scan in a couple of weeks at 7 weeks as it's too early to see anything yet.

Orchid12 · 10/08/2010 13:13

She'salady - looks interesting!!! (and good) Smile

theteasonme · 10/08/2010 16:58

Hi orchid they said clomid was pointless as I've had 9 periods in the 12 months we've been trying which they consider to be pretty good. I don't present as a typical PCOS sufferer so she was pretty surprised when my ovaries were covered in cysts. The internal scan was rather uncomfortable (just so you know!) but not unbearable.

I really don't know what else I can do. I suppose it's another 12 months of trying and hoping but it all just seems utterly pointless. Sad Even then she said she'd prefer us to have been trying for 3 years before considering IVF. Shock

hippychick66 · 10/08/2010 18:57

empty hope all goes ok at the scan. i hate the first few weeks of pregnancy - all that studying bloody loo paper is soooo stressful. Thinking of you lovie.

dani OMG how do you cope with such long cycles. i would be loopy. Mine are so short. this month i think i ovulated on day 8!!!! Luckily we got a swi in on day 7. I am now day 16 and feeling like AF is due. the shortest cycle I've had so far was 21 days and I feel like this one could beat it. I'm so sorry you're having to cope with these wapping long cycles - any point in testing - FF says you should Grin.

theteasonme what age are you? if you don't mind me asking. i only ask cos I am amazed that they think it is ok to tell you to try for 3 years before moving on. Angry

theteasonme · 10/08/2010 19:50

Hi Hippy hope you're well Smile I'm 29.

I was a bit baffled too but she said something along the lines of IVF taking away 3 months of 'normal' trying. (they ban sex incase you end up with octuplets Grin)

The thing is, my DS is 3 now so we'd potentially be looking at him being 7 before a baby came along and I just think that's too much of a gap so in reality we wouldn't put ourselves through it. So, for me, it's fall pg naturally in the next 12 months or nothing which is a tricky thing to come to terms with. xx

bessie26 · 10/08/2010 20:02

dani am impressed with your restraintat not POAS - how long are you going to wait for?

teason is it too late to lie about how long you've been trying?

ladyggg fingers crossed!

my temps have started to drop, so I'm expecting AF to show soon Sad. On the plus side this does give me a bit more time to try to get my hypothyroidism sorted out (Dr says she needs another blood test done before she will prescribe me anything, and I can't have that done for another few weeks ) and we have a friends wedding to goto this weekend, so perhaps I'll get to have a little drinkie too Grin

Danilou22 · 10/08/2010 20:23

Bessie, I am only not testing because in my heart of hearts I know i am not pregnant it is just my body playing games like it has been since I stopped the pill!

I might get one tomorrow and then try not to talk myself in the fact I am pregnant before I test! Only symptom that I have has come out today and I am crying at anything and everything!

Will keep you all updated, I can't believe this I really thought that my cycles were sorting themselves out after the 5 months it took me to get one when I stopped the pill Angry

Enjoy your drink x

theteasonme · 10/08/2010 21:02

Smile wine is definately the upside of not being pg!!

bessie26 · 10/08/2010 21:45

dani I'm sure I've said all this before, so forgive me for ranting on Blush, but my cycles were 2-4months after coming off the pill. After a year I went to see an acupuncturist who told me to take Agnus Castus & my cycles went down to 5 weeks straight away (I got my period about 2 weeks after my first session, so I'm convinced she managed to push an egg out!)

I find Acupuncture very relaxing, and it's nice to have someone in RL to obsess over my chart with Wink

teason the problem with this restricted drinking lark (I only drink while I bleed... and possibly the weekend after) is that the wine I'm drinking is getting more & more expensive! Grin

hippychick66 · 10/08/2010 21:46

dani I feel for you I really do. As much as we moan about bloody AF - we need the bitch to come regularly !!! Sad hang in there.

theteasonme Envy 29 - erm yes I vaguely remember being that young. I agree though - is it too late to lie about how long you've been trying - could you have been trying since your little one was born???

Mine have a 3 year diference and it is a lovely gap but then again I am now trying for another and there would be about an 11 and an 8 year gap. My boys are really hoping for another baby and i know they'll be fab big brothers - so try not to despair too much about a larger age gap. I mean maybe don't let it be the deciding factor. Smile

theteasonme · 10/08/2010 21:53

Thanks hippy it's nice to hear about larger age gaps Smile I think it probably is too late to tell fibs now - she seemed to be writing down everything I said yesterday!

bessie I think that's going to be my new motto - I only drink when I bleed !! lol Grin although a tough one to stick too!

I'm now looking into low GI diets (even though I'm not overweight) - anyone have any experience of this? Confused

theteasonme · 10/08/2010 21:54

Oh! The next person to post will be number 1000! xx

(sad old bugger emoticon)

hippychick66 · 10/08/2010 22:04

We've come a long way since dear old silver got us all together.

Some are merrily on their way, some (like me) have faltered, slid down the snake and gone back to the start and some are struggling with horrid irregular periods and the like.

BUT, we are all still together and supporting each other. Here's to many more successful pregnancies when we continue on the next thread!

Love to all Wink. xxx

theteasonme · 10/08/2010 22:15

Yay!! I think you win a prize hippy hmmm... ...here's some firestation playmobil, a nice glass of rose and...ooh, and a handful of chocolate buttons. What more could a girl want?!

xx
