I thought I'd start a thread for all of us who worship at the shrine of Toni Weschler, spend whole seconds analysing cervical mucus, slip over in the shower checking cervical position and spend two minutes every morning flicking their heads from side to side in a valiant attempt to stop a baby pulling the thermometer out of their mouths. Ladies, this thread is for all of us, may it see many many BFPs!

decaf I would have thought implantation bleeding would be later than 2 days-ish post ov?

I have a feeling that I read that spotting/bleeding mid cycle was sometimes a sign of ovulation, so it could just be that?

Not too sure tbh, hopefully someone else knows!

BabyValentine · 13/05/2010 20:10

Agree re. accuracy spiltthetea, especially as I don't seem to have a huge temperature shift.

Decafgirl, I would agree that 2DPO being a little early to see implantation bleeding, and it is possibly ovulation bleeding - but strange that you haven't seen it before. I sometimes think that I am just hypersensitive to changes now I am TTC, and some I may have experienced before but now noticed, IYSWIM...

LittleSilver · 14/05/2010 12:09

Oh, or heavens' sake.

OK ladies, help me work this one out!

CD30, AF was due yesteday, which would have made me 10dpo (I ov on CD19). Right, so was very twingey on Monday (CD27) and actually thought that af was going to come early (and umm, made a GP appt to discuss this

So far, no AF. One day late now. Temps are actually climbing. So of course, I cave, and poas. BFN. I don't actually think I am pg; timing not fab this month, tho still feasible. BUT if I was I could possibly notshow a BFN yet couldn't I, as even though I'm late I'm only 12dpo, and you won't always get a result with that will you? The only other thing I can think of was taking AC and b vits this month, which could be prolonging my lp, but that doesn't expalin the temps.

If you've made it this far, thanks for listening x

decaf I had a slight bleed around the time of ovulation a couple of cycles ago, never had it before and not hasd it since. I would agree that it's more likely tobe ovulation bleed than implantation (a bit soon for that). Good luck anyway.

littlesilver good sign that temps still up. Might just be a bit early for the BFP. Wait a couple of days and pee again. fingers crossed - all sounds promising.

Don't think the B6 would lengthen your cycle that quickly (it still hasn't lengthened mine!). But i can't comment on AC cos i haven't gone down that road YET!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 14/05/2010 18:34

AF got me this morning

That was my first month charting, and feel as though I got so much out of it. Although, it was a bit concerning that my LP was only 11 days. Lets hope that was a one off!

It's mad how your temp suddenly drops through the floor as soon as your period arrives!

spilttheteaagain · 14/05/2010 18:58

Aw IfAtFirst sorry to hear that.

The first chart is an amazing learning curve isn't it? I felt ridiculously pleased with myself for making a chart that looked basically like the example ones I'd seen. Pretty pissed off that it didn't work first time though!

Have a glass of wine and drink to the next attempt.

LittleSilver · 14/05/2010 19:00

well, about ten minutes after writing that post this am I decided to poas again. No need, witch had got me. Oh well.

spilttheteaagain · 14/05/2010 20:11

It's been bad luck all round this time hasn't it?? Sorry littlesilver.

BabyValentine · 14/05/2010 20:12

Oh no, sorry LittleSilver. Sorry.

New month, new try...

BabyValentine · 14/05/2010 20:14

And you too, IfAtFirst. I am the same with my charts (and I only have three) - I get excited about plotting them [nerdy emoticon].

hippychick66 · 14/05/2010 20:38

So sorry to hear that bitch turned up for a couple of you. Have a large glass of wine or a load of chocolate.

I also felt very excited to see that my chart looked like the one in the book. It's a bit like being at school and looking at other peoples work and thinking, Ahhh so I did do it right after all!

It is defo worth charting. 11 day LP isn't too bad - although 12 would be slightly better. As long as not less than 10 it's pretty much ok.

love to all. xx

LittleSilver · 15/05/2010 19:53

Hey chaps, thanks for all your lovely messages. Talking about being nerdy, I believe there is the potential to take it to the next level! (TMI and really geeky emoticon alert) Ummm, I bought a mooncup today, and to those of you who don't use them, well, they have a volume gauge on the side!!! Am currently trying to work out how I can poss incorporate them into the joy that is FF!

I don't get out enough do I?

OP posts:
spilttheteaagain · 15/05/2010 20:45

Yes I had heard that people put their mooncup in after doing the deed to stop the little buggers escaping...!

Bought DH some zinc tablets today. Stepping up efforts here too! Am on CD8 so still about 8 days ish to go til ovulation... this part of the cycle drags sooo slowly!

LittleSilver · 15/05/2010 21:02

Oooh spilt, trukly excellent idea thanks! (will save me doing those ever-so-casual handstands!)

Yes, I am so with you about this part dragging. Can't even be bothered to SWOI.

OP posts:
hippychick66 · 16/05/2010 12:02

I am truelly bewildered.

i have no clue what a moon cup is - but having read splits post I am begining to imagine one.

Have this image of littlesilver walking like a cowboy cos she is trying to catch all the little men in a cup!!!

My temp went shooting up this morning (day 15) so all on schedule here . Was very happy to update my chart with that one. All the SWI is out of the way now so just gotta wait, wait and wait some more.

spilttheteaagain · 16/05/2010 13:23

hippy mooncup.

It's reusable sanitary protection... but as you see, people do put it to other uses!

hippychick66 · 16/05/2010 13:28

OMG - How did I get to be 43 without knowing about this product????

I am amazed - honest!

LittleSilver · 16/05/2010 19:02

hippy, it's fantastic! Honestly, am on Day 2 of using it and am about to e-mail the manufacturers; it's way more comfortable than a tampon (I don't bleed very much so always found them a little, ahem, chafing), and one doesn't experience Issues With String When One Wees.

hippie have a good feeling for you this month! Fingers crossed!

BV how are you and your charts getting on?

OP posts:
BabyValentine · 16/05/2010 22:16

I use a Mooncup! I'm so excited to see have been enlightened LittleS. Only about 2 people know about my sneaky Mooncup usage in RL because I can't abide the disgusted faces.

I bought one years ago pre-DD and never got on with it at all. Then apres-DD tampons weren't doing it for me (ahem!), so I bought another, and this time chopped the whole stem off, and have never looked back... (bet all you Mooncup virgins are intrigued now!).

The one noticeable difference I found, was the almost complete disappearance of the bad cramps I used to get, although perhaps that is just me getting less as I get older, who knows?

Now I am just left with several thousand tampons - crikey Moses, they were everywhere - handbags, rucksacks, car, airing cupboard, underwear drawer, suitcase, make-up bag, purse. Due to my reluctance in face-to-face Mooncup rejoicing, I am now left with the problem of getting rid of them. Could I put them in the charity bag, do you think?

hippychick66 · 16/05/2010 22:34

Cut the stem off ????

littlesilver Wow, you have a good feeling about me - that sounds great. Are you a bit psychic or is it just cos I've really made the effort with the SWi this month - am intrigued about why you say that???

I don't know if I will EVER be brave enough to try a moon cup but must admit that tampons do seem to give me worse cramps. I always change to a towel as soon as I am back home and not bothered about people seeing a visible line. So i do get what you mean about tampons and cramps. Who knows - I might be another convert.

Of course if littlesilver is right (please, please, please) then i wont need any tampons for a while .

LittleSilver · 17/05/2010 18:53

Imagine a funnel hippy, then with a sort of stalky thing leading down from it (that you pull on to get it out) BV, I had the same issues with tampons post baby (well, maybe the same, I sort of can't keep them in ) But mooncup is fine!

hippy, I can't explain it, was just reading one of your earlier posts and I just had a "feeling"; you're on the 2ww now aren't you?

Danilou22 · 17/05/2010 21:13

Hello ladies,

I hope you don't mind me butting in to this thread but I am wondering if anyone can answer my question.

I am very new to charting and have PCOS so am not sure I am ovulating at all!!

According to my chart I am dpo8 but my temperature is rising everyday, is that normal?

Sorry to be so ignorant in charting matters I am sure it doesn't mean anything I just wondered if anyone had any thoughts.

Thanks

decafgirl · 17/05/2010 21:36

Danilou22 it depends how long your time between ov and AF usually is. If your temps stay high or even look to 'step up' another level, you may be looking at a pregnancy chart. However, it is common for temps to look like they're rising then take a swift nosedive the day AF arrives. Sorry, the short answer is wait another few days!

Danilou22 · 17/05/2010 21:39

Thanks for the reply decafgirl. I will just have to wait and see.

hippychick66 · 18/05/2010 20:09

Yes silver 2ww for me - although it's more of a 10 day wait for me usually. Someone on my 40+ thread said they have a good feeling about me this month too. In the words of Forrest Gump - "I sure hope I don't let them down!"

danilou I agree with silver. Your temp can go up and up and up one bit at a time during the 2nd half of your cycle and it is encouraging. Unfortunately I also agree with her that it can suddenly plummet when AF arrives - taking your mood right down with it!!! Also not sure about PCOS - does it mean you have very long cycles. How awful for you if it does. I really hope your temp stays up. Let us know.
