Anybody got any Veras? Laaaahvely.

Sorry, I had an early 90s-flashback just then

Lyra, it's rubbish the way they're messing you around with letting you know what's going on with your Dad; how anyone thinks that it is acceptable that the only way your family get the info is to expect a seriously ill man recovering from major surgery to be able to pass on loads of details and info The idea that there's no-one about to help you on a Sunday is laughable - does nobody get ill, have accidents or die on Sundays, then? At least this crapness doesn't seem to be reflected in his treatment or care.

Laydeez, I just had a stroke of genius. And by that, I mean 'genius'. Seeing as we already have Euro Jizzney, can we not set up our own BESHpital? There we can receive the treatments and therapies we really need. As well as classes given by Besh Professors, such as how to rub your ovaries widdershins in the right way, wooden spoon whittling and how to care for your used sanitary towel child. I'm onto another money-spinner, I can sense it!

Drombie, good to see you in here Am missing you summat rotten - when are those bosses of yours going to calm down your schedule and let you get on with the important stuff like hanging about here all day?

CurlyCasperReturns · 15/03/2010 20:34

Do we have a payment plan for the BESHpital? I wanna go there!

Lots of catching up to do. Sorry to all who have had a shit weekend. Good to see you around gin. Better to have you here and venting than think of you sitting in virtual silence keeping it all in

camel you might as well snort some of that dust too, if you've got nothing to say. Keep your fingers busy...

Ocarina · 15/03/2010 21:44

I'm not sure alcohol and anything by Microsoft was a good combination but never mind, sure presentation will be fine.

I'm liking the BESHpital idea Can the payment plan involve providing the other BESHes with cocktails or other suitable refreshment?

Welcome wishin, sounds like you've had a tough time of it.

laurielou · 16/03/2010 08:17

Another scorp classic - loving BESHpital. Also like the idea of "womb whisperer". Maybe she can camp out on the alternative therapy room. Which is also kitted out with gin-drips & Danish pastries.

oca as if the arrival of the droid isn't bad enough an early visit? WTF? I kind of feel your pain having had 2 28 day cycles when previously over 30 days.

cho good luck with the IUI.

I think my boyf deserves a round of applause for his performance over last week or so. He's really upped his SWI game - & he's not just doing his duty, he's making sure I enjoy it too. I really hope I win a baybee this month, think he may be too broken to continue with this routine!

laurielou · 16/03/2010 09:02

Is there anyone else here who remembers our founder donttrythisathome? Isn't she due in March? I've been thinking about her lately..........

CurlyCasperReturns · 16/03/2010 09:14

Hi lorr, as antenatal lurker*, I can tell you she's overdue (EDD March 2) and posted yesterday to say she was still waiting... Will be lovely to hear of the first BESH baby.

*I'm a sucker for the birth stories on those threads.

laurielou · 16/03/2010 10:31

gin bit of a satellite delay, we were planning a trip to Boscastle, so will make it Wed to hear Papa Gin. Where do I need to go?

laurielou · 16/03/2010 10:32

Ooh, ooh, fanks for that update casper - which fred is it

RunLyraRun · 16/03/2010 10:37

Fanks all for the sympathy. Dad's surgeon did call me yesterday, explained he has a bile leak and associated infection which they are treating with a drain and antibiotics. There is at least a 50/50 chance it will heal without additional intervention so they want to give it at least a week to see if that will happen, as if not they will have to perform a tricky endoscopic procedure, which they would prefer not to do unless they have to.

Feel a bit better for hearing it from the horses mouth. I've asked her to call me later in the week with a futher update, and we will go down there again at the weekend. Those of you who said the poor communication is not a reflection of poor treatment were absolutely right, and I need to keep in mind that that is the most important thing. Of course would be better if he could go to BESHpital.

Will try to contribute to discussions not about myself today! Yes I remember good old don'ttry

CurlyCasperReturns · 16/03/2010 10:37

March AN Fred for lozza

RunLyraRun · 16/03/2010 10:38

A missed apostrophe, how embarrassing.

laurielou · 16/03/2010 10:49

Fanks casper have intruded on the fred & left message. Has made me feel very sad that I'm not on there legitimately (sp) & made me realise quite how long I've been going..........

lyra really glad that you finally know exactly what treatment your dad is having / possibly facing. Really hope additional intervention isn't needed.

Off to down some gin soaked jam doughnuts..............

PollyPoo · 16/03/2010 11:42

Lyra I'm really glad to hear you've got lines of communication open with your dad's doc. I hope the infection clears up with any additional procedures. Big squeeze to you and your family.

Laurie I am loving the idea of gin soaked doughnuts. Hand 'em over!

Well sis got taken back into hospital yesterday morning. The pain is back and blood pressure really high. She's just had an exam and they reckon the cervix is starting to soften so they might look at inducing her later this week. She is feeling v down and just wants to go home, but I am v excited that I could be holding my little niece in my arms this weekend!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 16/03/2010 11:57

Lyra glad you've managed to get through, sounds like he is getting good care. Do not worry about meme posts - you have a lot on your mind at the moment! That's what we're here for!

Poo - hope your sister is ok and gets her head round it all - imminent new arrival is exciting!

ginhag · 16/03/2010 12:30

lorry The Welly (aka the wellington hotel.) Doesn't usually kick off til 9 ish tho. Bloody folkies....

It is a bit of a 'free for all' singing-wise n that, so can be varied... but my Dad is great. And a bit famous in the locality He's been on the telly and everyfink. and raised a LOT of money for charidee.

My parents are extremely friendly too so you should say hello (they know about you lot)

poo poor sis

ginhag · 16/03/2010 12:30

wow emoticon-tastic!

ginhag · 16/03/2010 12:36

Look here lorry

Scorpette · 16/03/2010 12:52

Lycrashorts, am glad you know what's what now with your Dad and am sending him massive healing vibes to avoid the intervention. When he's better, move him to the BESHpital, where he will get the best possible care. Rumours that it is just like Carry On Doctor are just malicious slander

Poop, is but also exciting about your sis. Poor thing must be worried and stressed now, but she'll be a Mum at the weekend - SQUEEEEE! And you'll be an Auntie and Little Pol will have a lovely cousin to cuddle Best wishes to you all.

And good luck to don'ttry! The first of the BESHes to produce

Bessie123 · 16/03/2010 12:55

hello, hello.

Have you seen the thread in chat about silly thread names? We are on it for anything BESH or PESH related.

laurielou · 16/03/2010 13:14

Ooh gin how exciting! Your dad has a website & everyfink!! He may know about us lot but my boyf doesn't!!! He may be a bit freaked if I start talking to random guys..... so unless I 'fess up fully to the boyf I will be stalking your dad from a distance.

poo how can that news be both good & bad about your sis? Bad that she's going through all these shenanigans, but she's going to win a baybee soon, nnneeeeeeeee!

Am off to have a look-see at the slagging off we're gettng in chat. They're only jealous.........

Scorpette · 16/03/2010 13:23

Oooooh Gin, your Dad is a ledge! Will defo be saying hello to Mama & Papa Gin.

Am also now off to Chat to find us. Tssssk, their jealousy over us cool kids, eh?

laurielou · 16/03/2010 13:34

poo sorri, just realised I completely ignored your request for my gin soaked doughnuts (TM). Not that you're having any, mind

Bit of bitterness towards the B/PESH's there. I can never think of anything witty but cutting to say. Have fought the urge to type "feck off!" Thankfully my esteemed colleagues are doing a classier job than me!

ginhag · 16/03/2010 13:43

Actually I fully understand the definition. We are a clique in that we are a relatively small circle of people with a common purpose. Our thread would not be relevant to those who are not in their thirties and trying to conceive. So in that sense, yes we are exclusive.

BUT we still welcome new people... who are in their thirties and trying to conceive. As they can join our 'clique'.

ginhag · 16/03/2010 13:44

oops. posted in wrong place

laurielou · 16/03/2010 13:50

haha, nice one gin nice post BTW.

sorri? sorry even!
