Hopefully the weekend will bring along a couple of oppurtunites for shagging. Last AF was the first post-pill so I guess I've got no idea who long my cycle is, but it always used to be 28 day. Working on that premise Sunday is mid-cycle. But who knows!

I'm not a chocolate fan thankfully. Give me a cheese and onion pasty and a glass of chilled white wine any day. Not together though. I'll be a nightmare to live with if lucky enough to get a BFP - no drinking for 9 bloody months. Hellish!

I think my last AF was the first 'normal' one post coil removal, but it only lasted five days which seems unusual. I'm guessing mid cycle might be next weekend or just after.

told DP, he was over the moon - was pretty stunned even though we were trying, didnt think it would happen so soon.

He's realised he knows nothing about pregnancy / childbirth, and coz Ive done this before he's a bit freaked out today.

He said this morning that he's cool about a pregnancy... but it just dawned on him that there will be a tiny baby who he will be responcible for.

He also said that now we will have to get married (aww gosh how romantic)

I think that the sperm can live for three days, and possibly the egg too, so I would keep at it for the next few days.

Sperm can live up to 5 days depending on health of the man and X chromosomes last longest, eggs live between 12 and 48 hours depending on the age of the woman and genetic factors but remember it takes a while for sperm to meet egg....it's a long way for a little sperm!

If you have sex every other day then you should have plenty of swimmers!

My debrief (and a lesson on why tests are a dangerous thing):

I peed on a stick. And it was negative. So I convinced myself that it was a defective test (one of the 2 line ones) and did it again and it was negative. So I wailed a bit and then realised that if I was so scared about testing maybe we weren't ready for a baby. Then I realised that actually I did really want a baby so I tested AGAIN (stupid girl) and it was still negative. But there's been no sign of anything and I'm having to stop myself testing from again except I think I know in my heart of hearts that it's not happened this month, I just don't know why I haven't had a period for 6 weeks and that's stressing me out more than possibly being pregnant, which I would actually quite welcome after being so petrified! Argh. My head is a mess.

I think AF is on it's way on what is about day 17. (Just as well we did manage a good shag last night then!)

I'm taking a leaf out of frakkin's book and I'm not even going to google "implantation bleed". I think yesterdays foul mood plus the craving for pasta, bread and potatoes means the writing is on the wall. I'm just going to put it down to weird cycles post pil.

Poor you frakkin, it is stressful. My last period was two and a half weeks late, and I spent £50 on tests. I hope AF makes an appearance for you soon.

I'm trying to chill out too although I'm worried I have missed day 14.

Do you count the first day of AF as the first sign of anything even if just spotting?
In which case day 14 was yesterday or is day one the first day of proper bleeding? In which case 14 is today.

Have shagged at least every other day so might be alright, though that egg living for 12 hours has worried me a bit.

Day 1 is the first day of proper bleeding rather than the day of spotting as I understand. I also didn't know that you are most fertile days 11-14 of a normal 28 day cycle rather than days 14-16. (Using the ovulation calculator on the right hand side of the page)

I know I'm trying to be relaxed and casual about it but I want it to happen so badly.

I'm not sure how long my cycle is so guessing at 28 or 30 days with a luteal(sp) phase of 14 I need to be on the case tonight.

OH is strangely resistant to getting the snip. I do not want to have accidental babies in my 40's even if it is unlikely, so we discussed whether we wanted to add to our family of 3 kids or get him seen to.

He likes the idea of another, final baby but not sure about the responsibility as he is older, even though I am SAHM. He realised he is going to have to have the snip sooner or later and seems to have chucked away the condoms without confirming, YES I am on board with this baby idea. I am enthusiastically taking this as a big YES and jumping on him every chance we get. Is this his way of saying he is sure, lets go for it? Worried in case he is not and just avoiding snip but it is not like him to be careless.

So we seem to be in the demographic for this thread. I don't want to get too serious and start measuring stuff though. And I don't understand any of the acronyms!
