So a slightly lighter and less scary thread for those who are chucking away the pills and the condoms and hoping for the best!

Ah, nice! Proper city... nice countryside nearby... enjoy! Bet you can find some lovely places for a dirty weekend of strenuous research!

Yep, this is No.1. [terrified emoticon]!

OnlyWantsOne · 09/03/2010 12:57

dont be scared - all will be well..

I can strongly recommend not getting too freaked out about stuff too quickly.

It will do you no good.

Just keep shagging will be just fine, and don't for heavens sakes, lay back and start thinking about babies whilst you and your DH are at it as it were....

LOL :P

We get interrupted by DD some times, thats terrifying!!!!

BrassicaBabe · 09/03/2010 13:18

Welcome OnlyWantsOne

Having a busy work day today. Humph!

This would be my first. Terrified isn't the word. I'm still not 100% sold on the idea. My list of things to be terrifed about is as long as my arm.

But I still want my period to re-start. Body, you will listen to me, I am your master!!

pipistrello · 10/03/2010 08:06

My first too.

Clifton area of Bristol is really nice. owo - antique shops and delis and a pretty square and so on.

BrassicaBabe · 10/03/2010 10:57

Did anyone watch One Born Every Minute last night?

That receptionist makes me laugh. Poor love has probably been unkindly edited, but she comes across as a do-nothing chocolate eating monster! It makes me laugh!

pipistrello · 10/03/2010 11:46

I missed it, but know what you mean from the earlier programmes. She looks all darkly lumpen and brooding - I think the camera angle over her desk is really unflattering (and that's saying something, considering all the other shots are of women in labour).

30andLurking · 10/03/2010 12:00

Morning.

Thought I wasn't going to watch it as DH was around, but he actually said he felt he should see it, so we watched it together and although there was a bit of squirming (putting an epidural in... shudder) from both of us, actually it was a really good one to watch and talk about - especially when that lovely 17 year old lad turned out to be a really good birthing partner.

DH did wake up in the middle of the night having some wierd nightmare though, so hoping the two aren't related!

BrassicaBabe · 10/03/2010 13:00

I have to watch that problem while hiding behind my laptop screen, toes wriggling. DH won't watch it , but he was snoozing on the sofa so I indulged myself and my mad curiousities (sp?)

I thought they were all quite lovely on the programme last night, which is why the receptionist comes off as funny as she does.

Am I allowed to say here I would want an elective CS?

OnlyWantsOne · 10/03/2010 15:15

don't aim for a CS - seriously, labour can be ok, dont start getting scared now :P

ilovetochat · 10/03/2010 19:18

i second not to aim for a cs, i had a natural birth with dd and i want to do it again if i get the chance, infact i want a home birth. i didnt scream/yell/swear and didnt have epidural (which did look horrible last night).

PrivetDancer · 11/03/2010 07:58

I third that, cs is not easy option. I had a natural birth and was on a complete high for days afterwards, whereas people I know who have had sections, well you're in agony initially, and stuck in hospital too.

I got a bfn this morning, am not v regular but longest cycle would have me due Saturday. Not surprised though, I don't feel pg.

30andLurking · 11/03/2010 08:11

Well I'm aiming for a few labour based around a few yoga breaths, maybe a bit of aromatherapy, some plinky-plonky music, a cashmere birthing dress, and a Scientology-silent, natural, drug-free, pain-free labour.....However I fully expect to last about 5 minutes getting redder and puffier and swearier, before yelling GIVE ME THE GOOD DRUGS!!

Ach, it's all a very long way away at this stage

pipistrello · 11/03/2010 13:23

I really like the idea of a home birth too, iltc , but fully expect to freak out if I ever get to the stage of actually having to HAVE a baby, and to leap gratefully into the comforting safe clinical embrace of the nearest man or woman in scrubs.

This weekend is meant to see the start of some serious (though still fun) shagging, as opposed to the current knackered occasional post-work fumble, which is frankly not enough to get a super fertile rabbit on clomid pregnant.

tanmu82 · 11/03/2010 14:50

personally, I had my two in a 'home from home' suite (MLU) down the coridoor from the delivery suite and it was great. I would much prefer that to a home birth. No mess in my house! And it is comforting to be able to have a natural birth in homely surroundings with the back-up option of help on the doorstep so to speak. I'm looking into a MLU again for this next one. I live near Oxford now so am hoping to go for the new MLU at the JR - the Spires I think it's called.

CS scares the daylights out of me.....

PrivetDancer · 12/03/2010 09:08

oh my. I swear I saw the faintest shadow of a line this morning. DH couldn't see it, but then he couldn't last time, and I just dropped her off at nursery. omg.

30andMerkin · 12/03/2010 09:19

Hey Privet... how interesting! Just wanted to say good luck and keep us updated on this one!

PrivetDancer · 12/03/2010 11:06

thanks! There's half a bottle of wine in the fridge, will be drunk tonight before I know for sure

pipistrello · 12/03/2010 12:53

Wow privet! Are you going to retest tomorrow (when wine is safely drunk) or in a few days or what? I'd probably have peeed on 10 sticks on a row by now.

PrivetDancer · 12/03/2010 13:57

no, will not be able to wait for a few days, definitely tomorrow morning, if not before!
I've only got cheapo tests from ebay (which are perfectly fine tbh) but might pop to chemist and treat myself to a posh one.

BrassicaBabe · 12/03/2010 14:06

Wow Privet, hopeful congrats and all of this from just shagging?!

You are an inspiration

pipistrello · 12/03/2010 15:48

My God yeah. I must think of you and shag harder

tanmu82 · 12/03/2010 15:49

we are dropping from this thread like flies.... congrats Privet

BrassicaBabe · 12/03/2010 16:05

I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. Still no AF!

I'm putting hideous mood this week down to shites at work rather than PMT!

PrivetDancer · 12/03/2010 16:12

I'm not convinced yet! but thanks. would be quite a turn up - it took 2 years last time and there hasn't been a lot of shagging going on this month.

please don't think of me while you're shagging.

pipistrello · 12/03/2010 19:02

Hee. Sorry privet. Didn't mean it like that!

Think period is just starting here too. Roll on next
month then.
