So a slightly lighter and less scary thread for those who are chucking away the pills and the condoms and hoping for the best!

OP posts:

CD70 here! Celebrated by booking a doctors appointment - because I really love being looked at like a moron and being told that this is 'perfectly normal' after coming off the pill.

Maybe I should have followed the same tack as the other girls at my school and got most of my kids out of the way before my a-levels....

Lovemylulu · 07/06/2010 11:47

Another newbie here, normally a lurker, but am desperately trying to not get too hung up on the whole ttc thing! Have a 2.5 year old and only took 3 weeks of ttc to get pregnant with her so now 3 months down the line of trying for number 2 am very very impatient and determined not to spend a fortune on tests this month or get obsessed with timings! So let's just see what happens

vallinnapod · 07/06/2010 12:13

OK, I promise to be nice (ish) about docs from now on. The thought of sitting in the surgery for no outcome prompted me to see if I could speak to a doctor on the phone, which I could. Nice bloke who agreed that it had been a while and therefore we should do some tests. So got a blood test next Monday and am waiting for an ultrsound appointment (not really the way I expected my first ultrasound ).

We shall now see...

milanomum · 07/06/2010 13:31

Glad to hear you are being taken seriously vanilla - that must be a relief.

I have just entered the 'shag zone' as have decided that fertile period must be somewhere after AF finishing and a new one starting (What does ovulation calculator know anyway?!) ... so if that means jsing for the next 2 weeks, so be it. It's tough work, but someone's gotta do it.
puts on super-shag cape

Lovemylulu - I'd think you were me if it weren't for the fact that you gave birth about a year before me!

Lovemylulu · 07/06/2010 14:27

ermmm think I am me... most of the time anyway

Lovemylulu · 07/06/2010 14:28

PS loving the idea of a super-shag cape

janedoe25 · 07/06/2010 17:08

No luck for me this month, AF was due on sat- no sign of her appearing until this morning! Was starting to get hopeful as AF is usually on time. Ah well, im just thinking of the JS we get to look forward to again!

takethatlady · 07/06/2010 17:51

Hey everybody,

Been ages since I've been on here. Still holding out for the test brassica? Me too, though the temptation is rising. It's like the forbidden apple in my top drawer at the moment - three different kinds of tests, so many days to wait ... I told DH I'm testing on the 11th, and he said, 'brilliant, if it's positive you'll have to name one of the babies after the first scorer in the World Cup'. The first game is South Africa-Mexico. MacBeth anyone? Surprise? Cuauhtemoc?

Grannyapple, you can test with us! Yippee, another one! Wouldn't it be lovely if one of us got a BFP? If I don't get one it'll be okay as I got quite pished myself last Wednesday, and the Saturday before that. I am irresponsible [embarrassed]

Welcome almostknockedupgirl! Let's hope the almost goes awol sometime soon!

takethatlady · 07/06/2010 17:52

PS - I have heard AF referred to as 'lady juice'. I prefer AF

PinkFondantFancy · 07/06/2010 18:45

Yeugh, lady juice!! Minging!! I think that's pretty much the only the only phrase worse than AF!!

How did the exam go gormers? Seriously long journey to get there, no wonder you're knackered!!

Hello to all the new people by the way!!

almostknockedupgirl · 07/06/2010 20:10

Thanks muchly, gormers! And what a journey! No wonder you were shagged. Although it sounds like you've got quite a plan there for the new house!

vallinnapod, so happy to hear your GP was useful. Must be a relief!

Hi lovemylulu!

milanomum, I've got a cape just like that, and a licence to use it. ;)

Thanks takethatlady! I hope so too!

Sorry to hear that your period has arrived janedoe, but I'm loving the positive attitude on this thread at the moment. As well as the willingness to get back to shagging.

Good luck to those who are testing later this week, and hello to everyone else!

BrassicaBabe · 07/06/2010 23:37

Bleugh I agree, def worse than AF!

Welcome recent newbies

I've been lurking all day at work but unable to post. Now hold up in a hotel (work!) using part of my 24 hours of free wi-fi.

Glad to here the docs appt went well Vallinna. It drives me mad when I'm reduced to a yes-girl in front of a medical type. Hang onto a good'un! Fingers crossed for AF before grotty tests are needed.

Loving the super-shag cape milano

Yeah! takethat I was beginning to think we'd upset you . I'm stuck in various hotels around the country until Friday now. D-U-L-L! I've got 2 internet cheapie tests packed with me though! Girl Guide, me! Always prepared! Although I def don't feel pg. What about you? Glad you could join the test-fest Granny

Roll-on Thursday (AF) and/or Friday(test day) Glad I've got a busy week to keep my mind occupied.

takethatlady · 08/06/2010 11:46

I don't feel pregnant at all (not that I know what that feels like). Not especially moody, nothing sore, everything tastes and smells as it should, haven't been doing any 'furkling', as someone yuckily put it last month!

Bring on the test-fest. And when the test-fest fails, the shag-cape will come to the rescue!

NewMrsCharles · 08/06/2010 20:43

Hiya almostknockedupgirl
Are you having the marina out this Thursday?
Im having mine out next Wednesday so really chuffed to have someone on a similar journey to me!

Can you let me know how it goes please?

Good luck to all those JShaggers testing soon, excited for u all!

I didnt see my best friend all weekend to discover it was a 'good' weekend and her husband wasnt away (in the military) so now nervous for her to see what happens so who only knows what I will be like when im waiting for my test!!

haplesshippy · 08/06/2010 21:09

hi i'm new can i join in? I've been a persona gal for a year now so poas is pretty much part of my daily routine, we've been ignoring the red days for a few months now but definitely no baby this month, your baby nephew's christening isn't the best time find that out and DH is saying we should stop trying for a few months till we move into a new house, are you allowed to post on a ttc thread when your DH isn't cooperating?

almostknockedupgirl · 08/06/2010 21:33

If I had any I'd definitely be blowing some babydust around the place in preparation for the test-fest. Good luck everyone who's taking part!

NewMrsCharles, lovely to 'meet' you! I will certainly let you know how it goes on Thursday (hopefully, swimmingly! eurgh), and yes, it is terribly exciting to have a shagging-twin.

haplesshippy, hello! And that sounds rubbish, I'm so sorry. There is a ditherers thread for people who are in similar situations, so maybe that will be a good place to check out as well? Best of luck and fingers crossed for you.

vallinnapod · 09/06/2010 10:31

Ummm, you can all form an orderly queue to slap me with wet fish, slipppers etc...POAS last night. No idea why really. Just got an abundance of cheapy eBay ones and though "What the hell..." Totally expected BFN, still at least I can rock up at the doctors on Monday safe in the knowledge they won't turn around and tell me the reason I haven't been having periods is because I am pregnant!

I'm skulking off to a dark corner now to hide the shame of my blatent JS-ing rule flouting!

Oh and haven't been JSing for two weeks now due to hubby being ill, passing like ships in the night.

I really do deserve the boot from this thread!

gormers · 09/06/2010 13:46

Vallinna - I for one will not be delivering you any slaps! I'd have poas many many many more times than you have, and I think you've been very restrained! Definitely not behaviour worthy of a thread-boot!

Hapless - our initial plans were to wait for husband to apply for & interview for job; but after that I had a bug exam to prepare for; then after that we were moving house and then, no doubt, after that something else will happen! So, we just went for it with the trying - knowing that it may well take a while anyway, and life always has something else to get in the way. And actually, with all else going on, the JS has been a lovely distraction - so tell your OH that!

A day late, but still in my heart of hearts I know it's not going to happen this month. However, if no sign, will test on Friday with everyone else! Why is it that you live a life of normal periods with barely any pms symptoms and as soon a you start ttc - it's irregular periods and swollen boobs o'clock!!

gormers · 09/06/2010 13:47

gormers · 09/06/2010 13:50

Oops, twice! It's because I dropped my phone at the point of posting and thought it hadn't done it the first time! Sorry!!

It's not because I think my opinions are that important

frakkit · 09/06/2010 17:30

Lol gormers your opinions are so important your phone posts them twice! How's the new house?

I am loving the new vocab - test-fest, shag-cape and 'lady juice' (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!) Gotta incorporate these into the new thread title - 'JSers put your shag-capes on in preparation for the test-fest has a nice ring to it'....This is what you get for being immersed in AIBU threads on bilingualism for a couple of days! I must get off MN and put my shag cape on though! We're coming up the window

NMC I got veeeery confused by people have marinas out. Then I figured you meant the coil! There was I coming over all nautical...

So glad your doc is taking your seriously vallinna , that must be a big relief.

hapless welcome! Just go back to 'relaxed shagging with no contraception' and definintely don't worry about not have a 'cooperative' DH. A couple of us have non-geographically cooperative DH/Ps.

Brassica hope you're not going too crazy stuck in your hotel rooms.

takethat tell your DH there is NO excuse for a World Cup theme....it's just the day you find out your pregnant (which is possibly the most exciting day ever but there's no way any of my DC are going to be named after footballers!).

2 days til test-fest so fingers crossed for everyone.

BrassicaBabe · 09/06/2010 23:03

Hello, my name is Brassica and I've P'edOAS (AA-stylee) No kippers needed!

Of course it was a BFN. Internet cheapies are evil. At least I know what a BFN looks like now. So I won't do that whole "is it an evapouration line" thingy. (Does that work as justification?!) I'm now out of P-sticks so will have to make a special a trip tomorrow to buy one ready for Friday morning.

However I've been in a foul mood all day. Choices a)PMT b)overtired and missing new hubbie c)all of the above!

A day late gormers you never know!

Poor new hubbie sending me sexy text messages looking forward to my home-coming. I've not had the heart to tell him it's likely all bets are off due to AF

PSML at NMC and frakkit with their marina/coil chat

canoe · 10/06/2010 07:13

Morning all

Was hoping someone could explain to me the whole 2 week wait thing. I'm a bit confused about what that is and when you start counting.

Having thought I'd be all cool, calm and collected, super patient, and know absolutely whether i could be pg or not. I've realised when it comes to it - I'm actually pretty clueless!

We were away for the last 2 months so i wasn't making a note of dates and timings etc, but there is a chance that unknowlingly we got it right, and I'm now on day 36 of my cycle, which is usually about 26 - 28 days.

I was thinking maybe i should do a test, but i never done one before, and i don't want to waste one by being impatient and not knowing enough, only for AF to arrive the next day!

Any thoughts/advice gratefully received

Thanks

janedoe25 · 10/06/2010 07:35

Well AF didn't come to anything was just a bit of spotting. Done a test last night and iam PREGNANT! I am soooo surprised i didn't think i was pregnant. I don't feel any differnt. Sending everyone here some luck and look forward to hearing about all the BFP'S!

Grannyapple · 10/06/2010 08:28

canoeI'd defo do a test if I were u-being that late, distinct possibility u could be pg....?

janedoe-huge congrats!!

1day late so far-don't feel any different either, hoping I've got what u've got janedoe!!

Bit worried about testing tomorrow now...been 5 days late before & BFN. Worried it's the stupid multivits-seem to screw up my cycle something awful...
