30s TTC - Butterdish Smashing World Record Attempt

1000 replies

PollyPoo · 18/02/2010 12:20

Line up, line up for the world record attempt for most dropped butterdishes per fred.

The bar is here, along with squishy sofas, some fluffy beanbags, low lighting, and most important of all, free booze.

I have installed some naked waiters (Morgan from being human, together with Russell Howard) - they have trays of champagne cocktails that can never run out, so dig in laydeez and lets make this a fred to remember.

thanks beshie... saw the gp, he is a good 'un though so I have reasonable faith in him... he has said to go back if anything worse or if we have more than a couple more days of it.

He is not throwing up in the day. Mostly once or twice night time/early morning. He tries to be convincingly 'fine' the rest of the time (as you know he's a little dynamo ans doesn't like to lounge about!) However his energy levels are so low... he is eating a little and I'm making sure he's not dehydrated.

Would've stayed home today but he is 'ok' at the mo and I am leaving him with v v trusted person... but all I am doing at work is worrying about whether we are going to be vomit city again tonight. I just want it to stop now.

And me n mr gin are supposed to be having our night away (gig n hotel) that was my anniversary pres to him back in Nov... is on fri so dunno if we will be able to go. Although if moo not better by then fuck knows what will be going on.

Glad you're okay by the way...was worried about you!

Ariesgirl · 02/03/2010 12:51

Ginhag very sorry to hear about your poorly boy. Easy for me say, but small children can be absolutely spectacularly ill, so much so you think they won't last the night, then recover obscenely quickly, wondering what all the fuss was about. I don't have any myself obviously but taught Infants for years after running kids' adventure holidays so have seen lots and lots of poo and puke. Hope he gets better soon, poor little man.

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 02/03/2010 12:57

Lyra - thinking of you and your Dad, matey.

ginster - hope Mani is on the mend soon, sounds nasty.

Everyone else - random violence - I can't keep up these days, wish there was some sort of headline ticker for the most important bits. Blasted work is keeping me otherwise occupied [totally unreasonable emoticon]

Look out below!

RunLyraRun · 02/03/2010 13:02

Thanks for yet more love, BESHes

Poor Mani, really hope he is better by tonight - please give him gentle headstroke from me, Ginny. Crossing my fingers that you get your night away with Ginman.

RunLyraRun · 02/03/2010 13:04

VAG, hello! Been thinking of you. Can I stalk you over to the Deli for an update, or are you not posting anywhere at the moment?

RunLyraRun · 02/03/2010 13:10

I stalked you, you've had your scan. Hurrah so far!

ginhag · 02/03/2010 13:16

oh vag that's great! I don't go to the deli, so thanks to lyra for that... hope you're feeling ok vag. It is a scary and confusing time Or maybe that was just me....

Thanks for the wishes for mani beshes. I just really hate seeing him upset, and as muse said, it's tough when you don't know why it's happening... I actually wish one of us was throwing up too, at least then I would know it's a bug.

Scorpette · 02/03/2010 13:21

Gin, a big hug for you and a big hug avoiding his tummy for Mani. I 'hope' it's 'only' a bug and he gets over it ASAP. Is horrible to be powerless when the ones you love suffer, especially when it's a wee one who doesn't understand what's going on properly.

Helloooooooooo VAG! Been missing you - can I have a snog? You're my wife now, Dave!

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 02/03/2010 13:27

Woohoo Scorp-love is all mine!

Am ok - still very daunted by the whole prospect of this actually being real, which I know BESHes don't really want to hear about. Am in a highly surreal parallel world a lot, a place where food is bland and sitting down is really nice, where I feel snarly every evening and sleep badly despite being exahusted. It's safe to say I haven't got my head round it yet. But I am still lurking and stalking you all, and thinking of you and wishing you could be where I am, as I know you'd appreciate it properly and not waste it navel-gazing and anxiously hair-plucking.

ginhag · 02/03/2010 13:34

not entirely true vag... I for one hated being pg (and as mentionned previously was not good with the newborn bit either) and I think a lot of beshes are very focussed on The Line and may experience the odd panic etc once there...is normal my love.

I get what you mean tho, there are a lot of us that are desperate to be pg. Don't want you to feel guilty tho, you are dealing with enough complex emotions as it is!

Dunno if it helps but despite what I said above re pg and newborn... I am still one of those what is desperate to get pg again! So it must be a good thing in the end. If that makes any sense at all. Which it probably doesn't. But it does to me. So nyyyaaah.

Muser · 02/03/2010 13:36

Are you kidding VAG? When I get a keeper I shall probably spend the 9 months swinging between major freak outs that something will go wrong with the baby, that I've made a huge mistake, and that I will be a crap mother. I fully expect to be one of those women who announce, in labour, that they've changed their minds and please can I just have a kitten instead?

VoilaAnotherGimlet · 02/03/2010 13:41

Fanks ladies - I think it's absolutely true that I thought I had thought about life-post-bfp, but it is becoming very clear that I hadn't at all. Hey ho. I am sure it will be fine eventually...(as I tell myself). Hormones have a lot to answer for, if you ask me.

ginhag · 02/03/2010 13:43

vag the next bit is when you think you've thought about life post-birth and then you realise you haven't really done that either [totally unhelpful but honest emoticon]

ginhag · 02/03/2010 13:46

oh and muse just described me

Headbanger · 02/03/2010 13:53

Witty you're plainly diffed, pal. I've got my top off.

Muse It feels peculiar, being pleased that someone is haemorrhaging from their genitals (I cannot be arsed to spell check that, sorry), but am glad for yer, and rooting for you not to ever have another drug again, aside from a little light gas and air one day before long...

ginny can't imagine the stress of that. BESHslaps to you. Hope he recovers soonest.

Meanwhile, someone make a space in the pit for me, do. The droid has started its first faint bleeping and it's made me unaccountably sad. I fink I'd almost thought those negatives were just too early or summat. Not looking forward to inevitable strain of trying to instigate SWI this cycle, but who knows...last cycle it did lead to some seriously fun times (once the weeping and snotting and recriminations were over)

PollyPoo · 02/03/2010 15:02

Lyra sweetie, good luck and I hope all goes well with your dad. Big squeezes to you and your family.

And GinnyGinGin so sorry to hear poor Mani been so poorly. Really hoping he perks back up to his usual energetic self, its always so worrying when they are poorly. Not sure if I mentioned a while back, we had the paramedic out for Boo in the middle of night - she'd had temp, rash and then went all floppy and unresponsive. Was fucking scary, but within 20 mins of the paramedic arriving, she woke up and wanted to start playing doctors with the stethoscope. Big smooches to you lovely. x

Afternoon slagbags,

Lots of posting going on...love to Lyra...the usual for Muser thank god things have finally started happening for you...you'll be woofling like the rest of us before you know it

ChoChoSan · 02/03/2010 16:18

Don't know why I referred to 'norks' there - I hate the word...is there any word LESS evocative of breasts?

Muser · 02/03/2010 19:02

BaZOOMbas!

Ariesgirl · 02/03/2010 19:16

Bazookahs.

Mine are killing me but sadly not spilling out of a 34DD bra.

Scorpette · 02/03/2010 19:27

Jugs! Baps! Knockers!

I personally have always hated the word 'tits'. Made it very hard being a member of the Young Ornithologist's Club when I was younger

Muser · 02/03/2010 19:42

Melons! Pillows! Booooooooobs!

Muser · 02/03/2010 21:02

Bosomy talk kills thread.

One Born Every Minute time. Ickle baybees ago-go!

Scorpette · 02/03/2010 21:47

I wonder if Joy is actually still in labour right now? Poor BESH.

Muser · 02/03/2010 21:58

I am way behind as my mum phoned when it just started.

I am hoping Joy gets her baby before the end of the episode. I love Joy. I am enjoying their argument about Thai and Italian names sounding stupid.
