Will keep shagging with intent then- I suppose we can't go wrong then. DH doesnt mind

We have been SWI every day- our consultant says that is fine if you have a normal sperm count- if its slightly low then every other day is best. Zita West also reckons that as much as possible increases chances by loads - I will dig out the stats later but its a pretty impressive jump. My MC was a result of 12 days of SWI- was tired at the end but KNEW we had managed it, just wasnt to be though

The pain I had the other day has worried me a little- it was on the side where I have had all my lasering for endo- hope it isnt back... 4 months pain free is pretty shite. And if it isnt OV, I dont know what it could be. I do know though that we have been SWI on the wrong days for the past 5 months if this month is anything to go by should have temped sooner!! Did it before for a few months and it is the best way of knowing what is going on.

Is anyone else temping?? What other methods of pin pointing OV are going on?

Hi all - have finally managed to board the bus after 8 days of trying (internet playing up so am on a different computer)

Feeling very positive about November for all of us. Although I'm into my 3rd cycle now and just starting to get really annoyed with all the babyness around - never realised that they are bloody everywhere. It's not fair. I WANT ONE PLEASE! Have found myself scowling at the TV when pregnancy test adverts come on and it comes up 'PREGNANT'. Grrr

Anyway - lots of fireworks around for babies' arrival for those of us towards the front of the bus!!!

Room for one more on the November bus!?

AF just arrived.. was just contemplating going out to stock up on HPT's so at least it's saved me bracing the cold! Was going to get one when I went to Tesco this morning but for the first time ever my stepson decided to come with me! At least he saved me a tenner on an expensive HPT. Cheapy mail order tests here I come!

erm yes..... there is a lot of nookie in our house!!!

My little one isnt so little though- she is 6 so easily occupied and doesnt tend to burst into bedrooms in the evenings or in the morning!!! It does help- there really is no reasoning with a toddler but if She comes into us in the morning and we were planning on some SWI, she is easily convinced that we are still tired and goes and watched disney channel for an hour. We do have to be quiet though!!!

What is this Dr Shettles all about?? I am not worried about the sex anymore- after 3 years I wouldnt care if it had 2 heads!!!

Dont feel sorry- We take it in our stride now!! I wouldnt want anyone to go through what we have been through- I am pleased when I hear people have easy conceptions, thats the way it should be!! In all fairness a lot of those 3 years have been totally wasted cycles- 4 months using condoms because our wedding was coming up, 9 weeks of pregnancy, 12 weeks (yes 12!!!) bleeding from a MC, 6 months on the pill, 2 laparoscopies which both gave me about 4 months off altogether- have just worked that out and thats only 17/18 cycles in all- not that bad really We have done it once even though it ended in MC (my DD isnt my DH's) and I am sure we will do it again. Need to stay positive and keep hopeful. Anger, bitterness and envy really affected me just before my MC- but after that I can cope with anything. And as long as I have my DH, I am quite happy [happy] A baby of our own would just be a lovely bonus!!

Hi all! Just come off from the October bus as AF arrived today, same day as my tests arrived by post so I saved some money at least.

Cycles are a bit up in the air at the moment, usually I'm 26 days regular, but my DD just started in January and seems to have mucked me up a bit, this was CD30. Keeping myself at UCL 26 for the bus for the time being anyway.

We've been TTC for over 18 months now. Wow.

I went to Hotel Chocolat today and bought lovely yummy expensive Rocky Road chocolate. it seemed appropriate.

I would like to join. It seems like a good idea to have somewhere to come where there's empathy for the anger pain bitterness and generally feeling like crap. Especially having had a mc and thinking I should be on maternity leave not putting up with!!

bucks fizz anyone (it is Sunday morning now!)

Welcome to all the newcomers and sorry for your mcs.

I watched Nine Months as we couldn't find anything else to watch, about 10 mins in DH did comment on whether it was a good idea!

ILGH - we started SWI yesterday.

I really hope it works this month. I have started a new job, we are trying to sell our place and I don't think I can take much more ttc - all too stressful.

digitalgirl · 31/01/2010 16:11

ilgh what's the shettles method for a girl? Do you start off stopping swi 5 days before ov?

Report
ILoveGregoryHouse · 31/01/2010 16:56

Hiya digital, regular swi up to CD11/3 days before ov. If still not pg after a few months, go to 2 days before ov and, if you get really pissed off and decide you really don't care one way or another any more, just go for swi all the way through, even on ov day and cross your fingers! That's where I've got to as I have no patience even though we're only on cycle 5.

Report
digitalgirl · 31/01/2010 17:07

V interesting. Don't think I am in with a chance of either boy or girl this cycle as re-worked it out and think we only swi 4-5 days before ov. Been googling my chances and they're 10-13%. Not so great. So will probably be joining this bus next weekend.
