Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

OP posts:
Cheepz · 13/02/2010 12:48

going to scotlan so not sure how often will post, did test this morning and slightly stronger result so guess I really am pg

muser i was thinking that after 2nd mc in jan, but with a fair wind looks like it might still happen for me, so could for you too - Christmas baby?

hope everyones ok - hope there is internet access where I am goin!

Muser · 13/02/2010 12:49

Only if my HCG levels start falling at some point Cheepz! And then depends how long it takes for my period to come after that. Time is marching on.

Have a lovely time in Scotland, and congrats again.

barrenbrook · 13/02/2010 13:22

OMFG!!!! (and I promise you all I am saying this quietly) Cheepz, SamB and Sarahlou massive congratulations! so pleased for you. I can't believe how many BFFP's we've had on here recently. Top news all round.

Off for my first acupuncture session this afternoon, scared as I have no idea what to expect!

Hope everyone else is well, hi to Meita good to see you're still lurking with us and that all is well with you!

Have a great weekend ladies x

clareanna · 13/02/2010 14:33

hi all - small rant - is there ANYTHING more annoying that old school friends (ie ones you've known forever and therefore have no barrier) saying "how are you? any news? whilst pointedly looking at your tummy) grrrr so rude! nearly burst into tears there and then - but as in the middle of a 3 year olds birthday party, managed to hold it in.
rant over
hope you are all having lovely weekends - I too am very much understanding why this is called the WTF cycle - muser big hug - it's so frustrating not knowing what the hell your body is doing, sorry you didn't get any answers yesterday
but on the bright side - hurray it's saturday!

tigerbear · 13/02/2010 14:58

Afternoon all!
Sarahlou are you ok today?
Cheepz - it's looking like you really are!!!! Have a nice time in Scotland.
SamanthaB - how are you today?

Muser - sorry you're having a rubbish time - it's like a rollercoaster isn't it?

Clareanna - Grr on your behalf - how dare people ask - soooo rude and insensitive!!

Hi to everyone else!

Well, AF was due today, but no sign yet. I guess there is still a whole 9 hours of the day left for it to appear though, so trying not to get my hopes up! It's so hard though isn't it - every single month hoping against hope that this is it, this is going to be time it happens! Only time will tell. On a good note, I haven't caved in and bought any tests

northlondonchoclover · 13/02/2010 16:08

Sorry to hear about your situation Muser, the waiting and not knowing what's going on must be awful. Hope it will be over soon and you can move on.

Barrenbrook- I am on my 3rd acupuncture session and TTC as well. The last time I went, there was one needle on each leg (ankle area), 2 on the pelvic area and one on the arm. The needles are much finer than I though and not as painful as getting an injection. There seems to be a lot of good feedback on the effectiveness of acupuncture so I am keeping my fingers crossed . Would be interested to exchange notes about it.

Clareanna - yeah know what you mean. Seem to have quite a few pointed questions about when we are going to have a child etc.. especially since we have just moved into a bigger house. e.g. when we will be filling up the house etc? I just say, oh lets just see how lucky we are.. or something vague like that.

On a lighter note, this time I tried the lifting the legs up to the sky position after TTC... and DH was like.. "what ARE you doing???" LOL.. the things women do...

Still in the 2week waiting window ...

SamanthaB123 · 13/02/2010 17:08

Hi All,

Muser - I am so sorry for you, what an awful situation. Cheepz is right, you could still have a Christmas baby. When things are going wrong it is really hard to see the wood for the trees.

Saying that, I've just been to the loo and had some ewcm with a tinge of pink. Promptly burst into tears fearing the worst. I can't really see the wood or the trees right now. I think that 16 DPO is a bit late for an implantation bleed isn't it? Just taking it really easy now and hoping I don't mc. It's a weird psychoolgical thing, I really 'feel' pregnant this time, yet now know that it might be about to end. Two early mc in three months would be rotten luck. Symptoms as before, queasy, hungry, exhausted, boobs shockingly painful today.

Cheepz I really hope that this is it for you, fx - have a good time in Scotland too.

Sarah - I hope you are ok? Any more bleeding?

malteser1981 · 13/02/2010 17:17

Hello all,

Good luck to the newly graduated.
So lovely to hear such good news.

I'm still moping in my dressing gown following my miscarriage this week, self indulgent I know, but DH is keeping me in tea and chocolate so why move?

Here's hoping for a smooth recovery and a cycle ASAP.

Once again good luck all.

Muser · 13/02/2010 17:17

Fingers crossed for you Sam. Plenty of women have a bit of spotting in early pregnancy and are fine. If you're at all worried to to your local EPU and have your bloods done.

I'm bored of blood tests now. Have to go for another tomorrow. Happy Valentines Day!

Sarahlou8 · 13/02/2010 17:22

Hi, I haven't managed to read everyones posts yet (will try to later - busy day at work) but just to let you all know I'm ok, no more bleeding.
Still no symptoms, no soreness or sickness but didnt until 6 weeks last time.
Sam try and take it easy. I am feeling your worry because I'm there too - I do wonder if, with a baby trying to embed itself in your uterus, it is inevitable that at some point it will hit a blood vessel and cause some spotting. My last pg I spotted at 6wks, 7wks & 9wks and baby was fine at 10 wk scan. It went wrong sometime after that, but the spotting didn't contribute to it.

Oh dear, a long post for a quick word!
I'll be back later to read through everyone's posts later xxx

SamanthaB123 · 13/02/2010 17:46

Thanks Sarah...I have been reading and searching on the internet and have found lots of information that suggests that pink tinged ewcm is normal in healthy pregnancies so that has reassured me a bit. It wasn't 'bleeding' like a drop of blood at all. The consistency was of ewcm. Just keeping it all crossed.

Muser Thanks for your message too. I'm quiet new to the area that we live in and when I miscarried my doctor was absolutely rubbish. Not only was she not interested but she said that they wouldn't expect to see someone who was pregnant until they had missed two or three periods. I was just sent on my way to wait to bleed. I don't even know if we have an EPU near here. In reality, I could just do a test to check to see if I was still pregnant. I just can't face it at the moment .

Muser · 13/02/2010 17:56

Your doctor is an idiot. Waiting until you've missed 2/3 periods is insane, as is dismissing a miscarriage. You could end up missing an ectopic pregnancy and have someone in hospital. What a complete arse.

Anyway, you can find your nearest EPU using this link: www.earlypregnancy.org.uk/FindUs1.asp

Muser · 13/02/2010 17:58

Not that I think you've got an ectopic, it was just an example.

God, if I'd waited until I'd missed a period I wouldn't have either of my two miscarriages diagnosed, as I have yet to miss a period. And my EPU are insistent that I have to keep coming in for tests because of the risk my pregnancy is ectopic, and not a more straight forward miscarriage.

tigerbear · 13/02/2010 19:52

Well, still no sign of AF!!!
I'm NEVER late! I made a promise to DH to hold off on any testing until at least Tuesday!

Where's MrsRigby these days? Are you ok? Come back!

Curlylox · 13/02/2010 21:44

Hi thank you for your kind words earlier in the week - ot is now exactly this time last week I was in A&E (confirmed miscarriage), it's been very tough but had to hold it together for the sake of our DD (when she was around of course). Feel I want to start TTC NOW, still bleeding a little and having a bit of pain (is the pain normal now??), do I really have to wait until I have 1 period first????

liahgen66 · 13/02/2010 21:48

I haven't.

I had erpc on 28th Jan and we have been at it like rabbits trying this month. Am now on day 16 so counting down and wishing for some of the post mc fertility that everyone shouts about.

(to be fair it did work out for me last time I had a mmc)

Good luck,

They like you to wait to help with dating as much as anything but I wouldn't worry about that tbh, you know when last period so to speak was now don't you?

SamanthaB123 · 14/02/2010 09:14

Morning,

I haven't had any sign of bleeding or any repeat of the pink tinged ewcm since the one occasion yesterday. I am hoping it was sex related and that there won't be a repeat. I've still been taking my bbt and it is still really high so that must be a good thing. I have other odd symptoms as before. Just keeping everything crossed that it will be ok. Last time I mc at 5 weeks with spots of blood and pain on 4+6. Nearly at that now, today is 4+5. No pain at all, just what I would describe as a 'stretching' feeling in my lower abdomen and back. My tummy sort of feels heavy somehow.

Anyway, I'm rambling a bit, hope all well, SB

littlemiss72 · 14/02/2010 09:24

Morning all, Happy Valentines day!

Good to hear all sounds well SamB fingers crossed for you!

We are back to SWI, absolutely delighted just to be close again is a bonus right now. Had to endure an evening meal and overnight stay with 8 couples from work Friday night, two of which announced their wonderful news.. yep you guessed it, due when I would have been. I was pleased for them both, however the pain inside I had to hide was very .

We did however make full use of the four poster bed, huge rainfall shower and the bath for two with champagne

Almost ready to get back on the list.. although this month I think it will just be for fun and not ttc as I'm sure neither of us needs that sort of pressure right now.

Have a wonderful valentines all x x x

tigger15 · 14/02/2010 09:25

AF came yesterday plus a stomach bug so I was having fun trying to work out which bits were period pains and which were bug. I couldn't even sit at the computer the pains were so bad.

Can someone change my UCL to 26 as it's been that for the last 3-4 cycles?

samantha i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, seems a bit flippant for me to blithely assure you "i'm sure it's nothing" when this is your scary time, so will just offer you a hug to get through the next few days till you come out the other side. Stretchy and heavy is normal. Which number baby is this?

Happy valentines everyone, (yes I'm saddo on computer cos dh is at work. ) and already had to rake ds to dancing this morning, so no lovely snuggly lie in for me.

Oh Liahgen -- what a day for DH to have to be working - a Sunday morning too... lucky me, lie in, quick post now on laptop and will get up and face the world... I had just copied the list to start editing, then checked back and you'd just done it! Thanks
On the WTF cycle TTC thing, I did a bit of googling after SarahMum told me why my OPK sticks positive, just so you know, you're likely to ov a lot later this month as your hormones only start their normal monthly cycle once HCG is down to near zero. For the first time in my life I'm looking at an incredibly feint line on a pg test stick wishing it wasn't there at all, rather than desperately wishing it were darker and I could be sure [frustrated face]. But very nearly down to zero now for me.

Pollyanna and others, your talk of how to tell DH about SWI... we had this conversation last time we were trying, and DH finds it a complete turn off to know 'today's the day'.. he does, however, rather like my desire to try at least every other day... So we're sticking with that, and occasionally he'll ask and I'll tell him, but always just after, not before, iyswim! Don't want to ruin things on the crucial day. Also explained that at the crucial time of the month I do generally feel a lot more up for it, so it's not just SWI out of duty, and this helped too. We tried SWOI for the first time yesterday after the mc, I was really worried it would hurt/I'd bleed afterwards, but neither applied, thankfully, it simply made me incredibly sad and I had to try to hide my tears -- on so many levels, grief for the little one we lost, grief for me that I'm not pg any more, that I don't have mat leave coming up timed beautifully with the summer holidays, that it didn't work and who knows when I'll be pg again...... this is so tough. Back to square one, but with sadness not just excitement.

I'm so happy for those of you with BFPs but really feel for you with nervousness -- I think I would be petrified of ever going to the loo again. I have my fingers incredibly tightly crossed for you all.

And MrsG, where are you? I started the list before Liahgen beat me to it and you're very very late, I hope you're ok... that you have good news but you're just not wanting to tell till you're really sure? Do hope so.

Curlylox it's just a horrible time, isn't it. I'm determined to try again already this month (I had ERPC on the 5th), the consultant said it was fine, the only issue is with dating, but scans can do that quite effectively.

Muser so sorry for what you're going through - is it today you have blood tests again? I do hope you get to a resolution soon.

LittleMiss how awful to have two announcements so soon.... though your romantic evening does sound like a wonderful distraction, lucky you Did they know? I have told work, despite my dr's certificate kindly only saying 'post-operative recovery'... it's been so tough I really find it easier that they know what I've been through. In fact, next time (I hope there's a next time fx) I may tell earlier as I'll need to keep my stress levels down and 12+ hr busy days are not going to help.

I have this week as holiday (booked months ago) so plan some fun stuff with DS -- softplay, trips to the park, playdates. If I've learned anything recently it's to really appreciate him all the more............

tigger hope you're feeling better -- updated list for you:
