Hi all, old and new, this is the thread where all moaning, pieces of tmi, discussions and virtual cups of tea and biscuits come together to keep us sane .. or at the least insane together!

OP posts:
Goodluckbear · 31/01/2010 16:22

Thirdtime - just crossed posts - glad you're online....big hugs

xxxxxxxx

TheKurgan · 31/01/2010 16:57

Thanks so much everyone for all the good wishes! I am keeping my fingers crossed for those on the 2ww, particularly those who are having to wait a long time for their BFP. I know that I am lucky that I seem to fall pregnant quite quickly but not one has worked out so far so I am pretty scared. Best of luck to everyone, particularly third for tomorrow

Dirtgirl · 31/01/2010 17:07

Congrats Kurgan.

Thirdtime, I'll virtually hold your hand. Am going for a scan tomorrow hopefully, although doc said I just have to go to the walk in at UCH so goodness knows if they'll be able to do it without an appointment. I was but that's what my GP told me to do.

In my case however, there's little doubt that my pregnancy is all over. I bled a lot for a week. I'm just glad the bleeding is over. I took a pg test today, just for interest. Very, very faint line but I think that's residual hormones. It was really strong when I had my first BFP. Sigh.

VivClicquot · 31/01/2010 17:14

Afternoon all xx

Congrats Kurgan - glad to see the luck in our lovely thread is continuing.

Still no testing here, but I now have a feeling it's not going to be my month. For the last two months, I've had a browny discharge exactly two days before I've come on, so I've been frantically knicker checking yesterday and today.

To be fair, there's nothing on the knickers but (and prepare for TMI here), I had a bit of a gentle 'rummage' earlier and there was a definite tinge to the CM - although at the same time, my cervix was so high I could barely touch it. If I'm due to come on, it should be a lot lower, right?

However, have checked since and nothing. So very but as I said, I'm starting to think it's game over for this month.

Third honey - will be thinking of you tomorrow. Good luck

xxx

thefatladyscreams · 31/01/2010 17:20

Yipeee - congrats. TheKrugen . Have you told DH yet???

Sunburnt - it ain't over yet. I got a BFN on days 29 and 30 last cycle (usually a 28 day cycle) on internet cheapies before a BFP on day 31. Fingers crossed for you.

Thirdtime - you must be in such a horrible limbo but there is tonnes of support here for you. This Fat Lady definitely isn't singing! I completely understand why you don't want to go to the EPAU tomorrow but scanning back you mentioned that they haven't ruled out an ectopic. I just wondered whether you should go to be on the safe side. Nag over! Really hope you're managing Ok. Take care of yourself.

Cheepz - hope the rest of your weekend was pleasantly chilled.

Tigger - lurk away but feel free to dip in and dip out whenever you want

Liahgen - glad you're in such good shape. Hope your weekend was OK.

sunburntats · 31/01/2010 17:37

Fucking hell, just re counted and i am due period TODAY!!!
Still no sign.

Gonna nip to shop tomorrow after i have dropped ds off and get a test kit...if af hasnt arrived in the night.

WHY ffs have they not invented something that can tell you BEFORE the day your period is due???
By the time we are grandmas theyre will be a product out there that you can just slip your little finger into and it will say "congratulations you are 3 hours pregnant" wont there!!!!

OOOooo, not said a word to dh, dont think that i will, just going to keep it to myself whatever the outcome, for as long as i can.

Thirdtimeluckypleasexx · 31/01/2010 17:47

dirt can you really just walk in, I am working in London tomorrow maybe I should do that?? The place and people are what is making me not want to go in.

fatlady yes I know you're right esp as I have had 2 ectopics before but I'm just doing a little head burying at the moment. Need to catch up with what's happening.

Have been reading about 'breakthrough bleeding' - I know some hope but just not in a good place right now.

Haven't told anyone I'm pg apart from DP obviously, wish he could have stayed with me

Hope everyone is good - not really as much of a girl as I am coming across - sticky luck to all Jan BFPs xx

thefatladyscreams · 31/01/2010 18:22

Sunburnt - oh fingers crossed for tomorrow! Hate to think what tests they will have invented by the time we're old and grey

Third - I'm a head burying expert so completely understand. When I had my m/c, the staff were brilliant - I just wish all EPAU staff realised that it can make such a difference to us. It's a horribly vulnerable time without some insensitive sod making it worse. So vent away to us.

You could always try ringing one of the London ones and see how nice they sound on the phone? You've probably got the link for them, but just in case:

www.earlypregnancy.org.uk/FindUs1.asp

Sending you a big hug and chocolates. It's not over yet - wish I could send you some sage advice on how to suspend worrying but not sure any of us have cracked that one. Take care

thefatladyscreams · 31/01/2010 18:27

Dirtgirl - sorry, I've just tracked back as I'd missed your post about Monday. Will be thinking of you. Hope they at least give you an answer. Take care and hope you're getting loads of support.

Dirtgirl · 31/01/2010 20:33

Thanks thefatlady.

Thirdtime, that's what my doc said. He said I could go to the Whittington but they have a waiting list and you have to have an appointment. He said that at UCH they do a drop in one and you can just go to the Early Pregnancy Diagnostics dept and get a scan. He's given me a letter to take with me. I still can't believe that you can do that and I've not been able to get through by phone, so I'm hoping for the best tomorrow.

Dirtgirl · 31/01/2010 20:35

By hoping for the best,I mean that I'll get one, and that I'll not need any other treatment, am pretty sure I'm not pregnant any more.

SlummyMummy85 · 31/01/2010 20:48

Hope you don't mind me joining in.

MC'd yesterday. Wanting to try again but might wait a bit.

tigger15 · 31/01/2010 21:17

Dirtgirl UCH has a walk in EPU. It's in the basement, (well away from antenatal) starts seeing people around 9am but you can get in shortly after 8am.

tigger15 · 31/01/2010 21:19

Thirdtime UCH were very nice. Not sure where you went in November but I had good experiences with them in the summer.

MrsRigby · 31/01/2010 21:29

Evening

Still no-one going to rob thekurgan of the last BFP of January? Oh well, congratulations again thekurgan .

And fingers crossed for everyone else to get a BFP in February. Good luck all.

sunburntats that's REALLY annoying. Fingers crossed that when you test tomorrow you get a BFP. "Congratulations you are 3 hours pregnant" - now that's my kind of pregnancy test .

thirdtimeluckypleasexx I've been thinking about you. I hope when you go to the EPU that they tell you your bleeding for x reason and the baby is fine.

dirtgirl I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and hope things go okay.

vivclicquot no period, so your still in with a chance. Fingers crossed that AF never visits .

How are the rest of you graduates feeling? My breasts are tender and feel bruised, my tummy feels really heavy and I'm so tired - I'm definately not complaining though .

DH is scratching himself something stupid, he's really itchy and covered in red patches. No idea. Best guess is eczema. He seems to think it's worse at night.

Any normal person would go to the doctors, find out what's wrong and start treatment - oh no, not DH. He'd rather just moan about whatever it is.

Oh well, back to the cross stiching - I swear it's more addictive than, er, actually this is my first addiction .

It's a picture of 2 teddy's playing with bricks and a ball, with the A-Z around the outside and space to put the childs name, date of birth and weight. The mother-in-law brought me this when DS was only a few weeks inside me! I still haven't completed it.

I have a feeling that when DS/DD is born in September/October it still won't be completed.

MrsRigby · 31/01/2010 21:31

Welcome slummymummy85, let me have your stats and I'll add you to the list.

liahgen66 · 31/01/2010 21:50

Hi everyone

krugan fantastic news. Huge congratulations

Good luck to anyone else testing in the next day or so, for anyone who's had visit from dreaded witch already.

Am having serious wobble today, I just feel so empty and drained. Had small bit of bleeding yesterday but not much so physically absolutely fine. But It's so not fair,

Tried to read a book, the bloody young unmarried not in a proper relationship woman has just found out she's pregnant!! i just can't concentrate, nothing on tv holds my interest for more than a few minutes. I just wander around the house, wiping sides down, or picking clothes and toys up.

Did anyopne else have to sign authorisation for your fetus remains to be cremated? I just keep thinking about the moment I saw the letter with West sussex crematorium on it and realised that my baby was actually being cremated. Completely knocked me for 6 I can tell you. I mean it's a nice thing really, at least you know it's been handled sensitively but I just keep getting flashbacks of the moment I saw that letter.

We went to cinema last night and even during Sherlock Holmes it just came to me andI sank into a quiet mood. People keep saying, How are you, and I say fine but I'm not fine. I'm screaming inside but noone really wants to know that do they? What can they do? Just makes peple feel uncomfortable if you cry doesn't it?

Sorry, dh is in other room working and I don't know what to do with myself.

Ok, February tomorrow, onwards and upwards yes?

Cheepz · 31/01/2010 22:43

liah it will get better, I promise you it will, but for now allow yourself to feel bereft. It is unfair, and noone else in RL does really understand (unless they have been there) and they don't REALLY want to know, but we do, and we can listen to as much as you want to say.

One day at a time, maybe tomorrow will be brighter, but if its not allow yourself to grieve. Some people have done something or bought something to remember their babe by, maybe that is something you could think about.

Feel so wretched for you, although I have had 2 mc's I consider myself fortunate they were early and no medical intervention required, its still very hard but I think you are more emotionally invested in a pregnancy with every day so the later the mc the bigger the emotional investment.

Cheepz · 31/01/2010 22:44

slummy sorry you have had to find yourself here. welcome.

Thirdtimeluckypleasexx · 01/02/2010 08:45

Just call EPAU and they said they can make an appointment for Friday to scan me (I explained query ectopic and that I'd had 2 before but Friday is the earliest!) If I'm worried go back to A & E

Don't know what to do now, don't want to make a fus but can't stand limbo!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Third that's seriously crap. Can't believe they'd let the risk (albeit smallish) of an ectopic wait till Friday for a scan!

Congrats to those who've had BFPs since I was last on (approximately one billion years ago. Or Wednesday), and commiserations to those caught by AF.

Even though I'm 90% sure I haven't even OV'd this month, I merrily stocked up on CBDs this morning. Am clearly insane, but actually getting BFNs doesn't bother me as much as POAS pleases me. [freak emoticon]

Thirdtime this is the time to make a fuss, though I know you don't feel strong. Making you wait till friday is completely unacceptable. You are worried about a serious medical issue, you have a right to be seen.

When i had my second spotting with my last pregnancy (did mc in the end) I was in Venice and they scanned me that morning -despite only having my passport and not speaking Italian. You should expect pbetter in your own home.

Stamp your feet or go to A&E

good luck
Sarah
