Let's hope this one brings us all lots of luck!

Please encourage me cause I am still on lows and it's cd13. The previous months I was having highs by now am I not testing properly. I normally collect the smaple when I wake up then dip the stick for 10 seconds then put in the monitor. Then I put monitor away out of prying little eyes and hands and then come back in 5 mins. The test this morning diddn't look like the liquid had gone all across the test, would the monitor know if there wasn't enough. Really tiered and headachey this last week. Can any one give me some advice.

Lychees · 27/03/2010 21:01

Hi Nanny01, can't offer advice on whether the test was done properly, perhaps someone else will know but I didn't start to get highs until around CD14/15 last time, I think and I had a 31 day cycle so it could be that your cycle is a bit longer this month.

Also sometimes, there is a chance that oestrogen might not be detected until there has also been a release of LH so you end up with no highs but will have peak days.

Hope you get your high/peak soon.

I'm only on CD9 and had to test today for the first time this cycle. It was a low but then I expect it to be low for some time yet.

fairy06 · 27/03/2010 21:25

Hi ladies, I have been reading through all the previous posts and wanted to share my experiences, hope that's ok!!
We have been ttc for 7 months and this is second month of using cbfm. I had a peak on cd16 the first month. This month I didn't get a high until day 16, had highs everday until cd 26 when I got a peak! I had almost given up hope for this cycle but now I am totally confused. I am on cd29 at the moment. Has anyone else had a peak so late?? X

Nanny01 · 27/03/2010 21:52

thanks, I guess all sorts of things can pset cycles and have been quite stresses this month to.

Well another HIGH day for me too, am feeling a bit down as I'd expected a PEAK by now but after reading lychees and fairy06 comments I am going to continue hoping!

nanny I have been feeling exactly the same for the last week and a half which is strange for me as I never get headaches, maybe these are symptoms of late
ovulation?

vnewmummy · 28/03/2010 16:49

Girls -when i was on day thirteen I had lows with a headache too so maybe a good sign.

Today is day 19 for me and I am back to low. So I had day 14 -15 high, 16-17 peak, 18 high and today low. It doesnt give you much time!

On 2nd day peak I was so obsessed that my DH just felt too much pressure to perform and he could not! Bit of a shock as never happened before and next month he has told me not to tell him when and what day it is.

Cant help but feel disapointed as only 2 peaks and one managed shagging on 1st peak. Do you think there is still a chance for me?We still had it on high day before and after peaks.

Xx

Keziahhopes · 28/03/2010 17:52

Well got my peak today [smile} I am so relieved after last month being totally st month. 3 high's then peak on day 16... only problem is I cannot test get my blood test done 7dpo as everthing closes foe Easter... will have to wait another cycle now, but as don't see consultant till end June that is ok...

vnewmummy - your pattern is similar to mine - only ever 2 peaks,2-3 highs before. Whilst some people manage to SWI each day, we were told at the hospital to only SWI every other day - so sperm could replenish and to increase chances of conceiving - so what you managed sounds just right! Sperm can survive for up to 5 days as well.

vnewmummy · 28/03/2010 18:34

Hi Keziahhopes,

Well done on that peak - it does make you feel better. As you same we same the same and thanks for info. FC that I will still have a chance.

Why do you need blood tests, sorry if that is nosy. Are you taking any medication?

I have a consultant too at UCH and next month i am going to try clomid if I have no luck this month.

Good luck xx

vnewmummy · 28/03/2010 18:36

opps sorry for mistakes in last message!

it should read - as you we are the same.....

Nanny01 · 28/03/2010 19:33

Finaly got a high now looking forward to the peaks. God luck to everyone approaching their peak days.

Keziahhopes · 29/03/2010 00:51

Ooh Nanny, glad you got your high

vnewmummy - my blood tests are for my consultant for fertility... seen once, ordered more tests - bloods (my 2nd set) my husband to have a second SA and a scan for me (not the one with dye a more basic one). Bit frustrating to not get anything else than tests and come back in 3months... feels slow. How did you get to clomid stage if you don't mind me asking? And I do take medication, but not for fertility - or not yet. My prolactin level is over 800 but consultant who is also the endocrinology one said it wasn't high enough to treat - but everything I read said it is too high to allow conception/implantation. Am on month 19 ttc , mmm ... something kinda tells me that somehting IS wrong.

Angelgirl79 · 29/03/2010 11:57

Hi All, I was unable to get on over weekend but back online today. I am back on lows now (had one high day after 2 peaks)and waiting now to see what happens fx.

Vnewmummy, we had same problem on second day pk but i am still hoping that it is more about quality than quantity!

Hi all, well another day another HIGH for me, am totally pissed off and am pretty sure I will not be getting a PEAK. The onlt good thing is the CBFM seems to be confirming my suspicions that I am not ovulating, good proof for GP I suppose.

vnewmummy I agree with Keziah every other day is what's recommended.

boba82 · 29/03/2010 16:50

Oh my God I am so depressed , have just counted up all my HIGH days and have had 7 in a row. Has anyone had this many and ended up having a PEAK or am I likely to return to LOW?

vnewmummy · 29/03/2010 17:38

Boba82 - please try not to feel to down. Looking back over some of the postings it looks like it has happened to others. Also if your cycle is usually 35 days then hopefully there is still time. FC for you x

Angelgirl79 - good to hear I am not alone. It was such a shame not to make the most of both peaks.I only had one high followed by lows.

Keziahhopes - I have had full investigations over last couple of months. Had scan to check out my ovarian reserve, then had blood tests and a hycosy scan. All looked ok but my consultant thinks my age is holding me back plus PCOS. I decided to try CBFM for a couple of months, then do clomid only for another two and last hope would be doing clomid and IUI together. So I have given myself 5 months then i am giving up. I currently take metformin. Why is your consultant making you go for more blood tests?

Now a message for all of us....The statistics say that within 2 months of using CBFM 78% success rate. That means a couple of us should have luck this month. Big FC for everyone.

xx

Lychees · 29/03/2010 17:46

Try not to get down about it boba82, I think I got six or seven highs before I got a peak last cycle and it was my first cycle so who knows what will happen with this one. Also, just because you don't ovulating on one cycle, does not necessarily mean you won't for subsequent cycles. As you said earlier, if you don't get a high, you can let GP know and this might hurry along any testing. Chin up, hun.

I might be peaking around Easter this cycle and we are visiting family so I'm a bit worried that bd'ing may not be practical/possible .

Anastasia1979 · 29/03/2010 18:31

Hi Ladies, hope you don't mind me butting in with a question, I feel like I need some advice.

I'm on day 17 of my first CBFM cycle, and I've been on low the whole time, is this even vaguely 'normal'? I had a mmc and erpc in January, my first period after was 8 weeks later and I started using the CBFM.(So i'm guessing that it's showing that my cycle is not back to normal yet)

Am very keen to get pg again, was thinking of going to Dr at end of this cycle if no ovulation but DH says it's a bit early and I should wait....but I don't want to wait and wait and watch time slip by.....

All thoughts would be welcome and appreciated.
xxxx

boba82 · 29/03/2010 18:42

Hi anastasia think it says something in the manual or on back of sticks box about use after mcs.

I didn't get a HIGH until day 16 and have still not received a PEAK but I have not had a mc.

Are your cycles usually quite long?

Anastasia1979 · 29/03/2010 18:58

Yes I know boba, I was a bit naughty and didn't want to wait to use it!

I reasoned that as I was no longer testing as pg it might be ok. And to be honest, I don't know much about my usual cycles as I was on the pill for years, came off in October to ttc and got pg straight away. I guess that speed gave me unrealistic expectations about how quickly I'd get back to normal after the erpc.

I'll keep POAS and hope that something changes at some point!

Harry2007 · 29/03/2010 19:27

Evening ladies,

I'm not going to pretend that I'm up to speed with the thread but I have been lurking since I posted my BFP.

Anyway, not good news I'm afraid. Started bleeding yesterday afternoon and went to the early pregnancy unit this morning. I had an external and internal scan and there was no obvious sign of a pregnancy. I had bloods taken and my hcg level was 249 which is low, got to go back on Wednesday morning for another blood test, but all the signs of a miscarriage are there.

I'm absolutely devastated

essenceofSES · 29/03/2010 20:09

Harry - ((((hugs))))
I've only been lurking too as not actually using CBFM yet but saw your post and had to respond.
I've had personal experience of mc twice and so have some understanding of what you're going through. It is devastating and nothing I can say can change that.
Please take it easy on yourself though. Rest as much as you can, watch crap tv and eat chocolate (or whatever you want).
How's your DP/DH doing?
Do keep posting here and offload.
Thinking of you.

Keziahhopes · 29/03/2010 20:46

boba - last month I had high's from day 9- day 26 when I gave up using sticks!! Proof I did't ovulate that month and a month we know my prolactin was over 843. Vnewmummy - blood test repeated because of my increasing prolactin level and my lowish progesterone level when had last one. Am waiting for scan - then guess in June if all ok will then have to wait for scan with dye etc. Are you going private?

Harry - I am so very sorry to hear your news. ((((for you)))) x

boba82 · 29/03/2010 21:19

Harry so sorry to hear your sad news, take care of yourself. (((hugs))) x

Vikks · 29/03/2010 21:49
