vnewmummy this is the 3rd month but peak hasnt ever been this early so I wasnt sure whether I may get more than the 2 peak days Ive had previously.

BabyHoping · 23/03/2010 13:33

Day 15 and still low... waiting for my highs or peaks...

cupc4akes CD11 is early for ovulation but its not unusual. My understanding is that when the monitor detects the first day of LH surge, the peak should not take longer than two days as you ovulate between 12 to 36 hours after the surge. If it does it is because you were going to ovulate but there was some cause like stress which delayed the process.

Keziahhopes · 23/03/2010 18:41

great news boba

I have had 2 peak's on each cycle. Still low, which am pleased about after last month's crazy month with high's all way through!

cupc4kes · 23/03/2010 21:41

babyhoping Well Ive had 3 days of highs and now a peak so what do you think that OV hasnt happened? Ive had lots of CM this month(tmi) as well. If OV hasnt happened would you still get a peak?

LorLa · 23/03/2010 23:04

Hi there,
I wondered if I could join in. We have been TTC quite casually ( well started casually then got more and more obsessed!!!) for the past 6 months. This month I used cheapy OV sticks with no joy and have decided to give the CBM a go next month. It all seems a bit daunting but accurate which is good. But can anyone please explain to me which days as the peak gets higher, you are supposed to TTC. Do I TTC on the 1st high, do I skip a day between (to let DH recover!!!). Thanks in advance for the advice for the newbie and good luck to everyone TTC.

Lychees · 24/03/2010 08:01

Welcome to our thread Lorla.

We bd'd every other day on highs then bd'd on each of my peak days and also on the high on the day after[i.e. three days in a row] and we will probably do the same this month as we just don't have the energy to bd through all the highs and peaks .

My monitor looked like it was showing a 'b' today instead of a '6', I think its okay though as there was no '!' displayed for an error . Has anyone seen this before?

LorLa · 24/03/2010 08:53

Hi Lychees,
Thank you for your reply.....poor DH doesn't know what he's in for next month! Here are my stats:

ttc#2, cycle 7, CBFM cycle1, age 28, ucl 26-28 and not sure what CD means!

FIngers crossed the CBM does the trick for all!

cupc4kes · 24/03/2010 08:55

Hi Lychees Ive never seen it before but I think as long as youve not got the ! then it should be ok.

Ive got another peak today so fingers crossed for this month. Just out of interest does anyone have OV pains? Cos the last 2 days Ive had a pain in 1 side then the other so could this be OV?

BabyHoping · 24/03/2010 09:19

Hi cupc4akes! Ovulation has happened, what I was saying is that when an LH surge comes, ovulation will come so if you had your first peak, its because ovulation is on its way, even if it may seem early. The other point I was making is something that I learned from my last cycle (explained from the monitor guys): Last month I stopped testing and using sticks on my first peak day (also early for me, on cd13) as I though ovulation is here, I will get 2 peak days and I do not need to test anymore. It seems that, in very rare occasions, your peak might extend for more days if your body starts signaling for the ovulation to happen but for some reason it is not fully ready. This is the reason why they advise to use all the sticks the monitor asks for, even after detection of the peak.

Sorry for the misunderstood, I did not want to create any confusion! Also, if you have your first peak on cd11, imagine ovulate on cd12 and add 14 days of lutheal phase, this would give you a 26 days cycle which can be completely normal.

I had my first high day today!!!

cupc4kes · 24/03/2010 09:34

babyhoping I think I read the post and totally missed the point I am a bit scatty at times, lol. Congrats hun on the high xx

boba82 · 24/03/2010 14:36

cupc4kes I got pain in right side Tues night then got 1st HIGH Wed morning and have had more pains both sides last night. I am defo taking these as ovulation pains. Looking back I have had these during previous cycles as well.

babyhoping Congrats on the high, looking @ our stats we seem to be exactly the same this month, hopefully a BFP for us both!

Second HIGH for me this morning, hoping for a PEAK in next few days. I have never had a positive OV test before so am ridiculously excited at this. CBFM has been a worthy and useful investment me thinks.

Lychees · 24/03/2010 16:43

cupc4akes, I have similar pains mid-cycle and it's probably ov pains but I was so out of touch with my body before that I didn't realise.

Congrats on all those highs, ladies.

Remember my earlier question about the number of sticks I might have to use this time? ... well, last month [the first time I used my CBFM], I started using the sticks on CD6 and got through 20 sticks [I regularly have a longer than average cycle]. Today is CD6 of my second cycle and it didn't ask me to use a stick so hopefully, it is "learning" my cycle already ... yay!

boba82 · 24/03/2010 17:51

lychees that's good to hear as I have been POAS since day 6 (1st use also) and was starting to think how expensive this was going to end up. Although I don't know why I am complaining as it is just a replacement for my usual PT POAS habit!

vnewmummy · 24/03/2010 18:09

Hi Girls

I am really sorry I didnt realise that I was jumping in on your thread.

Sorry again

boba82 · 24/03/2010 18:14

vnewmummy · 24/03/2010 18:53

Lychees · 24/03/2010 19:50

Yes, I only joined in a couple of weeks ago and have been welcomed with open arms. You can post your stats and someone will update them each day for you. Or if you'd rather not, you are most welcome to dip in and out for a bit of sharing and caring.

Lychees · 24/03/2010 19:51

Lorla, CD is cycle day.

Keziahhopes · 24/03/2010 22:39

Hi - I not been here all that long either, and it is great those with BFP's still post to encourage us hoping for one soon -

boba - so pleased for you, it is good to have machine to encourage I think... it starts my day off well!

Lychees - it sounds like it is! I don't start using sticks now until day 9, so it is much cheaper

I hopefully will get a high soon!

vnewmummy · 25/03/2010 07:50

Hi,

Thanks so much.

TTC# 10, CBFM cycle 1, age 41, UCL 26 -28days. CD 16

I got my first peak this morning and feel really excited that I am still ovulating. Hope Hubbie is not in late tonight!

So I had day 6 - 13 low, day 14 - 15 high days. Day 16 today - peak!

It really helps reading all the other info and the good news stories keep you going.

Fingers crossed for us all xx

BabyHoping · 25/03/2010 09:49

Hi everyone,
Got my second day of high today but by the look of it peak should be in the next days, as I´m having a lot of (TMI) EW. Also, as promised I´m BDing everyday since the last week, even when I was on low... As you can see I´m putting a lot of energy on it this month... Work is very unpredictable and you never know in which country will you be working next month or how many hours a day... Right now I´m in between projects, with a bit more relaxed life so this month would be perfect...

Nanny01 · 25/03/2010 11:12

Think my cycle is different this month as the cb monitor didn't ask for sticks till 2 days ago ans now I am on day 11 and still on lows. Did get stretchy cm yesterday so not sure what that means.
