Thought I'd get a new thread started as we seem to have run out of space

Let's hope this one brings us all lots of luck!

Nanny, I'm 36 so like you, also getting worried. I'm not too bothered when baby comes along ... I would just like it to happen sooner rather than later.

Have a good, lazy Sunday everyone.

essenceofSES · 21/03/2010 08:13

Morning!
I'm another one with the "age thing" hovering above me as I turned 37 in Feb.
As for a December baby, I'm the same as Lychees, don't mind when, would just like a happy & healthy baby

Medee · 21/03/2010 11:56

Congratulations, Harry!

I'm still pissing on sticks, on about day 21 and still waiting for the peak, which to my previous calcs is around another 5 - 7 days away.

Harry2007 · 21/03/2010 15:47

Hi all,

Thank you all so much for your support and congratulations

I spent the day at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff yesterday watching the rugby - I'm a Taff you see!

From the stats, it looks as though we'll have quite a few testing at the same time before long!

As for birthdays, all being well, this baby will be due in November, dp dec 9th, brother in law dec 15th, brother dec 28th, mother dec 31st, in laws anniversary jan 5th, ds jan 15th, sister in law jan 24th, me feb 4th!

Keziahhopes · 21/03/2010 19:16

I too have age against me, coming up to 35 - and really don't mind when the birthday is of a baby, more concerned about having a bpf than when it is now.

Gosh, Sounds like winter will be a good time to celebrate in your family

Lychees · 21/03/2010 20:02

Having only used the CBFM for one cycle, can I ask if anyone knows if it's true that this time, it'll know my cycle better and I will not have to use all 20 sticks in one month? Or did you find that you end up using all 20 sticks for a while? I have a longer than average cycle and didn't peak until CD17 & 18 last time. Thanks.

Medee · 21/03/2010 22:19

that's certainly what I am hoping for, Lychees. It's been asking me to pee since day 6 and if this cycle is like the rest, I will be Oving on day 26-28. New packet of sticks on its way already.

Keziahhopes · 21/03/2010 22:20

Definitely I only used 10 sticks the 2nd month, 20 the first sticks. Although last month I had a weird month and used 20, but guess that is my body for you!!

After 1st month, I only had to start using sticks on day 9, as my peaks tend to come day 14ish.

What I have learnt is to buy in advance, it was expensive going to a chemist to pay full price compared to my friend Amazon!

BabyHoping · 22/03/2010 09:04

Harry I´m so happy for you! Those are great news!!! I was hoping you were pregnant from your symptoms, buy did not want to put hopes too high either.
Hope we get more great news this month!

In my cycle, I´m still at low, no highs or peaks, also this month have been a bit stessful so ovulation might get a bit delayed.

Lucy, I usually ovulate around day 15.

Lots of clear slippery and stretchy CM - like eggwhite - is supposed to be an indication of ovulation and when you are most fertile. It'll be white or creamy as you approach ovulation, and not so stretchy. And after ovulation it goes back to not much being secreted and it is sticky and not stretchy at all.

I haven't been charting recently but I have in the past. You usually get a temperature surge after ovulation and it may be that you had that, but because you started charting slap-bang in the middle of the cycle you can't see the before and after picture, which is markedly different.

The CBFM tracks the LH surge, which happens just BEFORE ovulation. If you were using both methods, I think you'd get a 'peak' on the CBFM which usually indicates ovulation just about to happen, your chart would theoretically show fast rising temps, possibly the day after.

I'm not an expert though - so if anyone here can clarify the bits I've got wrong please jump in!

I am so about the arrival of AF today that I'm going to start charting this month myself and throw everything at TTC.

Good luck with everything Shaggy* sounds like you've had a shitty time of it.

Nanny when we originally started TTC I really didn't want a Nov/Dec/Jan baby as DH, my mum & SIL all bdays during festive period and it's a rubbish time to have a bday! However as time has gone on I really couldn't care less as long as I had a healthy baby.

Don't think it'll be me though, am not feeling lucky this month, am on CD14 & still low fertility on the CBFM .

BabyHoping · 22/03/2010 17:06

boba82 I´m exactly like you, on cd14 and still on low... I feel a bit demoralized also but hopefully ovulation will happen during this week. Just in case, I´m BDing at least every 2 days, I do not want to miss a chance and although my cycles are quite irregular I do ovulate in most of them. This anxiety is probably not very helpful in ovulating...

Harry do you have any tricks/advices you want to share? Whaever it is, BDing positions, number of times, etc... lol

vnewmummy · 22/03/2010 17:26

Hi,

I am not sure if I am putting this on correct thread or if I should try a new one!

It is my first month using CB monitor and I am on day 13 and it still shows low. I thought I ovulated around day 14 but no sign of even a high day.

Feel bit sad about it as I dont have many months left to try. (doc said around 12 months as I am 41 and have had my fertility tested)

Is this normal or am i simply not ovulating??

Please let me know if you can help...

Thanks

boba82 · 22/03/2010 17:38

vnewmummy this is also my first cycle on CBFM so I'm not sure either.

babyhoping I am also feeling a bit down. We have SWI every 2-3 days this cycle as I too do not want to miss an opportunity.

Have started to get a few cramps on right side since last post so hoping this is an OV sign? Would just be nice to get a BFP on something, even if it is only an OV test on the CBFM!

Lychees · 22/03/2010 19:12

Hi vnewmummy, I had my first cycle using the CBFM last cycle and got highs from CD13 I think, with peaks on CD17 and CD18. My cycle was 32 days long that time.

I think sometimes, you can get a peak without highs as it is possible that your oestrogen level rises just as LH is detected also. Or perhaps your cycle will be longer this month so you will be ovulating later.

My cycle has been varied anywhere between 28 and 40 days. I've found that stress and too many soya products [contains phyto-oestrogens] lengthened my cycle.

Harry2007 · 22/03/2010 19:20

No tricks really babyhoping I ovulated on cd20 and bd'd on days 18 and 21, that's it really! We were both extremely stressed with work, hence the lack of bding -I think we only managed it one other time during the month and that was on a low day.

Don't lose hope vnewmummy the first cycle using the CBFM is often slightly odd because it is learning about your cycle. I had 13 high days starting on cd8 but even though cd8 may have been higher than cd7, it probably wasn't high in comparison to cd18 if you see what I mean. I'm sure that if I had needed to use the monitor for a second month, the readings have been more regulated.

They sound like ovulation pains to me boba, get bding!

Hope everyone else is ok x

vnewmummy · 22/03/2010 19:50

Thanks for responding - it does help knowing im not alone.

My cycle is usually 28 days long and as i only had a hycosy scan last month that showed my ovulation day to be day 14 or 15. I guess even if the CBM said high rather than low I would feel bit better.

Next month I have clomid 50mg to try out and the month after IUI!

OMG talk about a tight schedule! Tick tock - feel like I am watching the clock in more ways than one.

I dont think my CBM will work next month if I use clomid so was really hoping a drug free month would work..

xx

vnewmummy · 23/03/2010 06:58

Day 14 - moved from low to high. Yee haa there is hope!

cupc4kes · 23/03/2010 09:10

Morning all

Im on Day 11 and had my 1st peak for the month.Last month I had 5 high days then 2 peak then another high. This month Ive had so far 3 high days and 1 peak so I dunno whats happening this. How many peaks can you get in 1 cycle??

vnewmummy · 23/03/2010 09:24

Hi Cupc4kes!

Im not sure but after studying manual it looks like 2 - 4 peak days is normal.

How many months have you been using CBM?
