Morning Lucy

The luteal phase is the length of time between ovulation and the first day of your next cycle i.e. The day your period begins. A normal luteal phase is between 10 and 16 days although the "norm" is 14. You need at least 10 days between ovulation and the first day of your next cycle in order to allow implantation to happen. As you can see from the stats, my ucl is 29 days and I ovulated on day 20 so this is cutting it a bit fine!

There is a chance that you can get pregnant by BDing on one of your high days as sperm survives for up to seven days, therefore, it should still be hanging around when you do actually ovulate. I had 13 high days in this cycle, but then it's my first cycle using the CBFM so I anticipate that it will be more regulated in the next cycle and I'll have less high days.

Peak does indeed indicate that you're ovulating.

Hope this helps!

I did another test this morning just to make sure - another BFN

By more regulated, what I mean is that whereas my LH level was reading high on day 8, and it may have well been higher than the reading on day 7, it wasn't necessarily high in comparison to the high reading on day 15. So from my next cycle, it should, in theory, take this into consideration and make the adjustment leading to less high days. Hope this makes sense and good luck to you too x

cupc4kes · 14/03/2010 18:09

Hi all AF arrived so Im now on day 2. It arrived a little late so I was getting my hopes up but it wasnt meant to be so heres to another month.

Harry2007 · 14/03/2010 18:53

Sorry to hear af has arrived cupc4kes I'm waiting for it's inevitable arrival too

I'll adjust your stats (along with mine most probably) when I update the list in the morning x

Lychees · 14/03/2010 19:23

Oops, just read what I put down for my stats and noticed a typo. I am actually CD28 today [I missed a "2" from the front of the "CD" bit of my original stats post].

Sorry about arrivals of AF. I'm also expecting her to arrive in the next few days ... don't think a BFP is on the cards this month.

Harry2007 · 14/03/2010 20:23

Really sorry to hear your predicament Nanny it must be really worrying. I really hope you get good news on DH's job. Remember we're always hear if you need a rant or a shoulder to cry on. I'll be thinking of you today, hope the news isn't as bed as you expect xxx

boba82 · 15/03/2010 13:56

Harry and Lychees have you POAS today?

Nanny01 hope you get good news today.

I am feeling miserable, AF has been coming and going for a week. Wish it would hurry up and make its mind up so I can get back on track. DH is working away all week so prob just as well I'm at beginning of cycle!

Nanny01 · 15/03/2010 14:52

Feeling less misrable as a friend just phoned and said she is getting a divorce at least I love my dh and the only thing we are contemplating is having another baby. It will be another hour before I hear what is happening.

On a good note the only symptoms of af was a head ache yesterday so I am not experiencing the period pain I used to get when I was younger. All the things that happened with my friend have made us closer, I am so lucky to have the 4 kids we already have and a dh who really does love me.

Hebe2 · 15/03/2010 14:57

Hi
Ive just started using the Clearblue monitor and waiting for a smiley face as Ive been trying for 2 yrs.
Do people have an opinion on whether its better to do the deed just after smilely face appears or wait for next day??

Nanny01 · 15/03/2010 15:38

My technique though I hav't got a positve yet is to bd on the egg symbol to appear then bd those days and hopefully a few days before every other day over the highs. HAve you the monitor or the digi opk cause I know they have the smiley faces rather than egg symbol. GOod luck though.

Harry2007 · 15/03/2010 16:21

Any news Nanny thinking of you x

Nanny01 · 15/03/2010 19:14

15% which is worse than we thourght we will loose around £450 a month major acconomy drive. Has AF got you yet Harry?

Harry2007 · 15/03/2010 19:25

Really sorry to hear that Nanny I've just found out that ds's crèche fees have gone up to £1,150 a month - not happy . Af still hasn't arrived, got some niggly little pains though so I assume it could be any minute.

Lychees · 15/03/2010 20:18

I know, Harry, I was out by 20 days on my stats! Can't type fast .

Sorry about your hubby's pay cut, Nanny. It seems like no one has escaped the recession.

Haven't POAS today. Think I'll just wait to see if AF arrives as I have done before. If she doesn't by CD35 than I'll check. But I think she'll be here tomorrow ... I'm unusually tired which is what usually happens the day before .

cupc4kes · 15/03/2010 22:05

Well Ive just had another phone call someone else is pregnant Why cant it happen to us I feel like we have been trying for an eternity and nothing happens. I am so fed up with other people I know having BFP's I am finding it very hard to be happy for them, I know that sounds horrible but I really cant help it.Does anyone else feel like this or is it just me being horrible?? I am sorry to moan but I really feel down today xx

essenceofSES · 16/03/2010 07:17

Morning!

Nanny - sorry for your DH's pay cut. Times are tough at the moment aren't they.

cupc4kes - it can be v hard to be happy when others seem to get pg so easily. I struggled first time round so I know how you feel. Now thinking about ttc#2 and I can already feel the pressure.

Hebe2 - sounds like you have the digital OPKs? I used them when ttc#1 and I'd say on the day the face appears and another twice over the next 3 days if you can!

Hello everyone else. Must get off to work...
Still no sign of AF here. Am I the only one wanting AF to arrive?! Can't wait to be properly ttc!

Harry2007 · 16/03/2010 09:26

Still no sign of af and got another BFN this morning

How is everyone today?

cupc4kes · 16/03/2010 09:50

Morning Harry morning everyone Well I still feel a bit miserable but I suppose I have to look at it like this that it will be my turn soon even though it is hard.

Your cycle seems to be like mine this month Harry are yours normally like this? x

Harry2007 · 16/03/2010 10:31

I don't really know is the honest answer cupc4cakes! I came off the pill and waited for one cycle before we ttc. That cycle was 29 days and it's the only non-pill cycle I've had so that's all I have to base it on.

I know what you mean when you say that you find it hard to be happy for other people who announce their pregnancy. This is only my first month of trying, but for practical reasons, I only have until May to get a bfp so i'm feeling the pressure!

Nanny01 · 16/03/2010 10:48

Whats the May deadline Harry if you don't mind me asking?
