Thanks claire - I would be so happy if it happened, but I just don't have any symptoms at all.

Still, maybe I will be lucky.

Mind you, I don't have any AF symptoms either (apart from the couple of spots!)

Ok.

I just took a test.

There is a faint line.

I think I'm pregnant.

I am sitting here sobbing and laughing at the same time.

I can't believe it!

I don't think it's true.

Oh my god.

zippys · 16/12/2009 09:08

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS OZZIE!!!

I am so pleased for you, I have been reading down the thread ctahcing up and thinking oh it sounds good I wonder if Ozzie has tested yet, and then was your latest post!!!

Ozziegirly · 16/12/2009 09:12

I just can't believe it!

I literally have not a single symptom - apart from no period and a nice pink line on a stick.

Shit! I even had a glass of wine with lunch today (client christmas lunch, I"m not just a lush) as I was so convinced I wasn't pregnant.

zippys · 16/12/2009 09:15

Sorry got so excited on last post I sent it before I had finished.

Another lightening post from me again, broadband should be back up by this weekend will catch up properly.

No real update from me, still feel sick on a morning going back to docs next week, but think it is not pregnancy related as I have had a period and had 3 BFN's! I am in 2ww right now, AF due on Boxing day, but I do have 2 tests at home. If AF symptoms I may try testing on Christmas eve, how good a Christmas present would that be!! , although not getting hopes up as hardly BD'd this month and dont feel pregant!!

zippys · 16/12/2009 09:16

Dont worry about one glass of wine, you will be fine, I am so happy for you.

Dont worry about the symptoms I am sure they will come, just enjoy that pink line

Ozziegirly · 16/12/2009 09:22

I keep staring at it, thinking it was all a mistake.

I"m home alone at the mo, and keep saying "I'm pregnant" outloud and then bursting into tears

I really hope it's good news for you too - it would be an amazing Christmas present.

I may hold off and tell my parents the news on Christmas day as well, it'll make their day!

So bizarre as this was the one month I wrote off as we were away.

And we literally did NOTHING different to the previous 8 cycles - had sex on CD11, CD13 and CD15 and that was it. And this was the one month I didn't do the grapefruit juice and evening primrose oil (as I couldn't really cart it up to Queensland).

Just goes to show, it is sheer fluke when it happens.

zippys · 16/12/2009 09:29

Do think that it comes down to relaxing? As you said you didnt think it would happen so it has?

I know I keep thinking of how good it would be to be able to tell my parents on Christmas day - what a present! I would try to hold off till you tell them it will make thier Christmas.

I may not be pregnant but I think I have hormones on the loose right now as sat here with a tear in my eye. As much as I have been really pleased for alot of the other BFP's, like Pixie said the other day there was a few of us who were all on the thread at round the same starting point and therefore to see you get your BFP makes me belive mine may also be round the corner (and everyone elses )

zippys · 16/12/2009 09:30

sorry this morning my posts are full of typo's - maybe its the excitement

Ozziegirly · 16/12/2009 09:37

Aww, zipppys that's lovely!

I really hope it happens for everyone really soon. I was sure we were doing something wrong as it wasn't happening.

Thing is, I didn't feel all that relaxed on holiday! We were away with my parents which is why I had ruled anything out this month - so it wasn't exactly a romantic getaway

Maybe that's the trick everyone should try - quiet sex, with your parents in the next room. Maybe this is why so many teenagers get knocked up.

CJ2007 · 16/12/2009 10:32

Oh wow Ozzie!!! What amazing news! So pleased for you....

turkeydrumstix · 16/12/2009 10:35

Ozzzzzzziiiieeeeeee!!!!!! - OMG!! I am so excited and so happy for you! And so so jealous . Ahh, thats made my day! And like Zippy says, that must mean good things for us "oldies" on the thread. Yay!!!!

I don't have any symptoms of pg yet - that is obviously a really good sign! Lol!
Isn't Mumsnet a weird place? Yorks - when I heard that you were "awash" with EWCM I was really envious! What a thing to be jealous of!! I took my EPO religiously from CD 1-16 this month and didnt get any results at all Maybe it takes a few months.

Welcome to the madness Ceebs !

Honey - sorry about Af, but I can guarantee that you will have lots of fun (is that the right word with your new fertility kit. I am totally addicted!

Ozziegirly · 16/12/2009 10:59

THank you!

I just told DH and he is now grinning like a loon and getting excited too, bless him.

I refuse to get too excited as I know the risks, but it is a wonderful feeling!

Yes, I reckon it is a definite good sign for us " thread oldies"!

I love your christmas name turkey

chalky3 · 16/12/2009 11:51

Congratulations Ozzie, that's the best Christmas present ever!!

CurlyCasper · 16/12/2009 12:24

sevans · 16/12/2009 15:34

Hi ladies. I apologize for being so absent. I have been crazy busy at work! I don't even know where I left off. I am still bleeding. This Saturday will be three weeks of bleeding red (I spotted brown, old blood, for about a week before that). Last week when I did my blood work my hcg levels went up again and the doctor wanted me to come in last Friday for a second opinion from a different doctor. The other doctor gave me three options.

  1. to continue to let it go naturally but he would give me pain meds and antibiotics
  2. to give me a medicine that would speed up the process by causing my uterus to contract causing more pain but again he would give pain meds and antibiotics
  3. do the surgery (a d&c)

I decided to go for option 1. If I can get the pain under control I am good. The pain was very bad last week! I have to go back tomorrow to see him again and do more blood work. I pray that my hcg levels start to go down instead of up! There is still the chance I will have to do the d&c but I hope not.

Sorry but I haven't read through all of the posts except for the ones on this last page. Congrats ozzie!!! That is wonderful, wonderful news!!!!!

aly323 · 16/12/2009 16:38

Oh Sevans, what a rollercoaster. It seems like a good idea to just let your body do what it needs to do for now, but I'm sorry it is so painful and taking so long. Hopefully tomorrow will give you the results you want.

Ozzie, now I'm at work and can give you a real post. Generally, the news of BFP's give me a mixed reaction. True happiness for the person getting it, but a load of self pity for myself, along with a crazy sense of feeling desperate (i.e. what do I need to do different? what's wrong with me? what can I take? etc.). However, this time, I really just feel happy for you and have a nice general feeling of hope. It's so nice.

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if you had been on the pill before ttc (if it's not too personal)? I was just reading some literature saying that despite the fact that the hormones from the pill leave your system immediately, the effects it has on your system usually take longer to wear off. Since the pill was providing hormones, your body needs to learn to make and regulate them again. The article I read said that women who took the pill usually take 1-3 cycles longer to get their BFP.

I get to see the acupuncturist again today. They are going to give me some herbs and I'll be asking about my soy. I'm looking forward to it. I really like going!

Ozzie I get what you're saying. Good on yer for holding off testing. I am still optimistic as you don't have to have symptoms to be pregnant, but its probably best not to get too excited, particularly if there's a chance your cycle could be knocked out cos if the flying.

Claire Good plan to not have any tests in at all. Its probably the only sure fire way to hold off testing.

It did just strike me, when you mentioned being due Boxing Day, what those of us on the 2WW over Christmas are planning to do re booze? I have cut right back recently and now average about 4-6 units a week. If I was pregnant I wouldn't be drinking at all, but given that its unlikely (but possible) that I will be, I don't particularly want a totally dry Christmas (I don't especially want to bring our TTC status to the attention of our extended family) but neither do I want to put the bean at risk if we do get lucky this week. What are others planning to do?

claireinthecommunity · 16/12/2009 19:31

Sevans I'm so sorry that you are still having to deal with the physical side of things, I really hope too that you will get through this soon, with as little pain as possible

WhiteRoses, that is such a wonderful thing (the USB), you're giving me ideas... DH and I have recently had a sought through and clear out and came across CDs of our photo's together from year 1, we spent a couple of hours looking through them and reminiscing. I love the idea of adding photos of our child/ren to our CD collection but your Christmas tree decoration USB idea is fab! I had the idea that each Christmas our child/ren would choose one new bauble/decoration to buy (or make) and put on the tree, starting with the 'baby's first Christmas' one. I too love the idea of starting a family tradition off
