Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

boodle have been watching with my fingers and toes crossed, stoopid AF.....I was really hoping this was your month xx

Meita · 10/12/2009 10:38

Oh boodle that's so cruel, your body giving you such hopes just to shatter them a bit later. I'm really sad for you - you would have so deserved some good news before christmas.

MrsR I've never had anything like that. I hope it means your body is back to its fertile state. I can so understand how it would take you back to the MC. I'm currently desperately trying not to turn into an obsessive knicker-checker myself.

Cake do you have cheap internet OPKs or expensive ones from the pharmacy? I found that having the cheap ones gave me the peace of mind to use them whenever I felt like it, rather than anxiously estimating if it was too early or too late already or what... Still, I never got a clear positive on those, although I used nearly 50 of them - those two cycles I used them on were probably both anovulatory.

Ladies, I think I should face it and stop denying it: I'm pregnant. Got a first response test (boots has a BOGOF deal atm) and used it today, and though the lines are not fat, they are cristal-clear. There are two clear, unambiguous, pink lines.

HELP!!!

Can I please please please stay here for a while? I feel very lost right now... I'm terribly excited and happy on the one hand, and at the same time worried sick that this pregnancy won't last a week... My last (first) pregnancy was very short, and now in light of Louise's recent experience... My emotions are all over the place. I know I should discreetly make my way over to the pregnancy board but I just can't face it right now. A week? Give me one week, please?

tetleytea · 10/12/2009 10:46

Fantastic news Meita! SO pleased for you!! A christmas BFP! Congratulations

tetleytea · 10/12/2009 11:05

Meita that has been literally the best news I've had for weeks! You've really made my day. Congrats again and please stick around and be our lucky mascot.

boodle really sorry AF mucked you around like that. It sucks. There is very little quick like the disppointment of the Wipe of Doom.

Mrs R I'm having exactly the same thing as you - brown mucus. I'm exactly 4 and a bit weeks post MC so it's def AF on its way. I'm presuming it's my body having a bit of a spring clean...

Hi TFLS! Big wave to you.

Well, as an early christmas present AF is on its way, pretty much like clockwork, amazingly enough given that my hcg levels a week ago said i was practically still pregnant . My worst case scenario is playing out, because I will pretty likely OV slap bang in the middle of the 6-day period in which DP and I will be apart - OF COURSE! So i have 2 options: skip this month& the supposedly higher fertility you have after mc, and spend the hols contemplating time passing over the mince pies with the rellies. Or lose my lovely cheap flights to London and rebook new £200+ flights for dd and me and lose 4 days of my holiday, so that DP and i can have the chance to do the deed

tetleytea · 10/12/2009 11:08

Quick? Meant very little QUITE like the disappointment...

LeeWT · 10/12/2009 11:54

MEITA yeah yeah yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!! So good!!!!!!!!! And of course stay here tho totallys grads are great support no matter what happens :-) oh so delighted sitting with big grin :-)

boodle sorry the wench caught you :-(

tetley everyones different but I'd enjoy Xmas come what may there's a lot of clothes/facials u could have for £200!!

Well it's all go ladies keep up the good work!

tetleytea · 10/12/2009 12:14

Totally agree with you leeWT. It makes me realise how deranged ttc is making me! But I'm the wrong side of 42.5 (note the half!)and it took me more or less a year to conceive before I mc'd. The only way I can handle ttc now is to do everything i can. Christmas just puts things in perspective how much it matters to me....

Sad but true!!

Glasgow85 · 10/12/2009 12:40

Hi everyone i had m/c 13 nov early m/c. Did opk on 28th nov positive result coudnt help but try again i know they say u should wait well my a/f should b due on sunday tempted to test but dnt feel pregnant.

boodleboot · 10/12/2009 14:43

meita that is certainly excellent excellent news.....glad one of us has gotten lucky. Stay here for as long as you like...

i'm over it already....it will happen when it happens.....i seriously have had my fingers burned tho by internet cheapies so WILL NOT be buying anymore of those....

on the plus side you and i *tetley8 can literally be cycle buddys this month what with AF bouncing over to greet us both....enjoy christmas, DO NOT buy more flights....that is craaaaaaaazyness

thefatladyscreams · 10/12/2009 15:14

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeee oh meita that is such fantastic news. I've been having a really crappy day but now got a big grin. I'm so pleased for you my dear. Yes, it is scary. But this is a whole new pregnancy and you have every chance of it going fine. Don't you dare leave us. Forget this stuff about a week - you've got to stay here full stop!! How is your DP?

boodle glad you're feeling a bit better. I've been fine most months with the exception of the one cycle when my body tricked me that I might be pregnant. That one hurt just because I had got my hopes up. It does suck at times. Weird how this cycle was a different length though?

tetley - you did make me laugh with your half! I hate that feeling that every month must count. Pain about the timing but I'd stick with your plans. If you rearrange them and don't get a BFP, you'll only resent it and that will be no good for your stress levels! Much more likely to conceive next month if you're chilled and relaxed. Liking the idea of £200 worth of treats for you

Welcome glasgow85. Sorry to hear about your m/c. I don't think there is anything wrong with trying straight away. I think the doctors just suggest waiting one cycle as it makes dating any pregnancy easier. Just one thought, a lot of us have found our cycles a bit all over the place after a m/c so don't be surprised if AF doesn't turn up on time - always assuming she is going to turn up [hopeful ]

zayja · 10/12/2009 16:23

yea meita!!!!! SO pleased for you, and def. stick around for as long as you like - no need to jump ship. You're our resident fount of knowledge. Seriously.

cake, I'm also missing large chunks of the thread for the last few days. I'll catch up, post and then the next day there are 20 posts before mine that weren't there before!

Sorry AF got you boodle, that stinks!

Welcome glasgow85, sorry to hear about your mc. You'll find lots of support here.

I'm technically on 2ww but not holding out much hope. Was waiting around checking for ewcm so was asking dh to withdraw so I could get a handle on it. Believe we missed the peak day (-ewcm) and bd a day late. Of course you never know...

Cheepz · 10/12/2009 17:18

meita so very very very very very pleased for you. lots of love and hoping very nuch its going to be a long and safe pregnancy for you, please stay, we will miss you too much otherwise, if I ever get pregnant you can be sure I will be hanging around on here. xxxx

barrenbrook · 10/12/2009 18:37

Yey Meita! Chuffed to bloody bits for you! What top news. I have everything crossed for you that this is a sticky bean. What a fab Christmas present. You must stick around otherwise who is going to update the matrix and give us all sensible grounded advice!

Glasgow sorry to hear about your m/c. You've come to the right place.

bigmutha congrats! What lovely news for you too. Fingers crossed it's a sticky one. So exciting to hear all this positive news

We used preseed this month on the key days and now i've got big sore boobs and bouts of nausea. Not getting my hopes up though as this has happened before on the lead up to AF. 8 days and counting.

Hello to everyone else and sorry for those of you that the witch got.

MrsRigby · 10/12/2009 21:39

Evening

Firstly, boodleboot I'm sorry, I really thought you were going to tell us you got a BFP.

And, congratulations meita . So happy for you and a little .

Welcome glasgow85 I miscarried on 17th November and started TTC straight after the bleeding stopped on 25th November. I'm winding myself up at the moment, thinking I'm pregnant. Going to look VERY silly when AF comes for a visit.

Nothing much to report here, will be having sex in about 30 minutes. Can't really be bothered, too tired, but if I don't then I definately won't get pregnant. Besides once DH has seen to me, I'll be so full of semen that he'll have to get up to see to DS during the night - so worth the trauma.

John Lewis (the store) has pissed me off. Brought DH some whisky and glasses for Christmas. Had problems ordering online, so had to phone. Gave the woman all of MY details and 2 hours later they email DH with confirmation of the order. So DH know's 1 thing he's getting for Christmas. Instead of using the details I gave them, they chose to use previous details at this address - my DH. Really pissed off. DH is not easy to buy for, he's very ungrateful and basically a scrooge (though he likes Christmas).

Meita · 11/12/2009 14:37

Hi ladies!

I'm glad my news managed to put smiles on your faces! Sitting here at my desk, thinking that there are women out there all over the country & world, happy for me It's such a nice change from worrying about "when are we going to tell people?" and not allowing ourselves to be too excited for fear of it all going wrong again.

Did a CB digital this morning and it said "2-3 weeks" - according to my reckoning I'm between 4+1 and 4+3 so that sounds about right.

On the other hand, I've had some quite bad cramping and pains today and immediately afterwards the general background feeling of nausea that I have been starting to become used to, just vanished. Also, yesterday my fingers and tongue went all numb for about half an hour followed by a headache - am thinking it must have been a migraine - but aren't migraines supposed to stop when you are pg? So, am quite worried at the moment. In a way it feels as if we were still TTC - I'm still charting my temps for instance, as my last MC was (in hindsight) signalled by a drop in temps and that way at least I would have some warning. So in a way it is like, before the BFP we had about 20% chances of having a baby that cycle, now it's about 70% chances, so it is kind of like a gradual change, unlike the sudden, momentous and huge "wow, we are having a baby and the whole world has just changed"-feeling we had back in July.

I guess you have noticed by now that I am utterly failing at my attempt to remain calm...

DP acts as if he's also torn between excitement and reluctance to risk being hurt again. He had a big day on Tuesday - when we got the first faint second line - and had his picture taken to go on the front page of his university's homepage. On that pic there is a big smile all over his face. He said that when they were taking it, he was thinking "Meita is pregnant!"

So, it is two weeks to Christmas today. I'm just hoping that I'll still be pg by then. Oh, and I think this thread deserves LOTS more BFPs before then. There are quite a few of us who could still get this wonderful Christmas present - go go go everyone! If you conceive TODAY, you could get your BFP on Christmas day!

sunburntats · 11/12/2009 14:47

Hi im back.
Mc number 5 on Wednesday just gone. Got to 10 weeks this time with a heart beat at 7 weeks, so i have actually lost a baby this time . (blighted ovums previous mcs)

I am struggling to cope with it tbh. I am so desperately sad, and bereft. Just cant fathom the unfairness of it all.

Pain was unbelievable, they gave me morphine and gas and air, which didnt really help that much. had contractions every 5 minutes through out the night, eventually passed the baby which fell onto the floor of the toilet. I was distraught. It just came away onto the floor as i was trying to sit on the toilet. I had to pick it up and put it into the bedpan.

5 miscarriages. I am uterly incapable of doing this like every other normal woman in this world does with little or no effort it seems to me.

I do everything right, everything to make things right to grow a healthy baby. We are ready, we will be fantastic parents, ds will be a great brother. he will be 7 in the summer, the age gap will be huge if ever we are blessed with another child.
How much pain can one person have thrown at them?

hoops997 · 11/12/2009 14:50

meita so happy for you, sending loads of sticky, positive vibes, take each week/day as it comes...... xx

hoops997 · 11/12/2009 14:53

crossed posts with sunburn really sad for you, have you been able to get in touch with your consultant? I hope they are able to find out what's wrong, in the meantime please, please be kind to yourself, you have lots of support on here xx

chamoiscreased · 11/12/2009 15:45

Meita fabulous news! SO pleased for you! I know what you mean about not being ready for the pg boards though, it feels far safer here.
sunburn, I'm so sorry. It is terribly unfair. Look after yourself
MrsR I had that brown stuff a few weeks after I miscarried, treated it as ovulation bleeding just to be on the safe side (never had it before), and got pg! So get to work just in case

Meita · 11/12/2009 16:02

Sunburntats, really sorry for you. 5 MCs, that sounds like pure hell. You must be such a strong woman to go through that. Please take care of yourself.

*Tetley, I noticed you are not on the list. Want on?

Runfor, tigerbear, you two still reading this? Any news?

My fingers are crossed in knots for all of you coming up to testing next week - Lee, cheepz, MrsR perhaps, Jollster, BB - lets get a pre-Christmas wave of BFPs. And then a Christmas-itself second wave (isn't there always a after-wave with tsunamis?) with TFLS, Zayja, Tigger and Cake. And everyone else will just have to conceive at christmas. Except for *Tetley who will be away from her DH. Maybe reconsider that re-booking the flight thing? ;)

Chamooooo good to hear from you! Is everything ok over in chamo-land? Hey, just did some sums, you must be past the scary 12-weeks mark by now!

Did you join any pregnancy board thread? Or are you just muddling through on your own?

chamoiscreased · 11/12/2009 16:25

Yup am past the 12 week mark now! Haven't joined any other boards yet, am happiest loitering around here still. Am just beginning to believe this one might be a keeper and suppose I might have to start telling people in RL before they start asking me if I've had a boob job!
Still grinning on your behalf here!

MrsRigby · 11/12/2009 17:52

Hello

meita it's funny you should mention that if we conceive today that we might get a BFP on Christmas Day - I've just taken one of those ovulation sticks and according to that I should ovulate within 24-36 hours. Slight problem though, DH is down in London tonight and not back until tomorrow afternoon. I take a little comfort in the fact that we had sex last night and supposedly sperm stay around for up to 5 days. That and the fact that I'm going to force DH to have sex with me again tomorrow.

  • had a bit of breast tenderness today (admittedly DS was poking them at the time);
  • lower left abdominal discomfort and a heavy feeling;
  • runny nose (DS has also got a snotty nose)

DH has just telephoned, he left his return train ticket here and so will have to buy another tomorrow - first class

sunburntats I'm so, so sorry. It's so cruel what's happened to you and I've absolutely no idea what to say. I miscarried at home also at 10 weeks (heartbeat stopped at 6), I went to the toilet, wiped and on the tissue was a perfect oval shape slightly smaller than a golf ball. DH and I will never, ever forget that sight.

quick one - am trying to not be quite so obsessed at the mo and being here a little less helps, am knackered alot having to work rathr than laze around on holiday

all normal here, ds has cough and fever so fully medicated but expect to be woken up at 3am, dh is at the pub with mates having a normal friday night, my cbfm says AF is due which is early, but ties in with late AF last month and early ovulation this month - i think it measures days post peak for estimating when AF due and I feel a little PMS ish so wouldn't be surprised to have a visitor before the end of the weekend

meita still so delighted for you and chamo nice to hear all is well

sunburn heart aches for you honey and can't imagine what you must be going through.

mrsr keep em coming ...'so full of semen he will have to get up in the night' lmao
