Hardly the most original title but I didn't want to loose anyone (well that's my excuse for the lack of originality!)

Your BIL's experience does make you think fingers. How are you feeling now - hopefully right as rain (if you forgive the expression). Dare I ask, have you rebooked with your acupuncturist??

Tetley - hope all goes well today, let us know.

Day 28 here and slight drop in my temperature which I suspect might indicate AF is on the way. Oh well...

Hey all, just a quick note as have little time.

Great to hear about your BFP apples! Sending you lots of sticky vibes.

So sorry MrsR, and cheepz. Lee, good to hear from you, though that is one very sad story.

Regarding Swine Flu, I thought you can't have the jab in the first trimester of pregnancy. I know it's like that in Switzerland, but maybe it's different in the UK? I for one have been thinking it would be good to get the jab now when it can't hurt the foetus, rather than risk getting the flu during the first three months of pregnancy, or if I don't, potentially risk harming the baby by getting the jab in the second trimester.

But so far pregnancy is looking faaaar off anyway. Little is happening in the way of ovulation, and I've started to feel a bit blasé about it all. Was away in Switzerland for some work and had my parents over just after, that's why I have been so silent... busy times!

Got to run, will check in later, hope everyone is reasonably well!

fingerscrossedlegsopen · 24/11/2009 11:29

Hi

Thanks for asking TFLS, lots better although v odd side effects from antibiotics! Will book her again but not til 100% fit as don't want to risk that again!! On the point though, a v good friend of mine tried for 6 months TTC #2 at 39 - no joy. 1 session with this acupuncturist and next month BFP! Just reached her 12 week scan all ok! Gives me hope

Re swine flu I agree Meita and I asked for it now for that very reason (plus asthmatic and had pneumonia earlier this year) - however I am apparently not on the at risk list so will have to wait for the next wave and see what they say. It's a really tough one for us all I think.

Louise enjoy Bruges and Happy Birthday!!

tigger15 · 24/11/2009 12:58

I had the swine flu jab last night. I got offered it for the underlying medical condition reason. I was asked if I was pg and told them I was ttc and she went ahead. Probably seeing the run of luck I'm having at the moment I will turn out to be pg and then it will all go horribly wrong as a consequence. Then again I made the decision based on risk to me and the rest of my family and as a seasoned refuser of normal flu jabs.

Is my cd right in the list? I thought AF came on 29/10 and that puts me a bit further along. I got a positive on the OPK on CD13 and we BD on CD12 and 13 and DH was away on business for next 2 nights. It all looks right but I have a feeling in my gut that it's just not going to happen. Or maybe it's a desire for that nice chilled peroni in the fridge.....

Back to childminder problems which I keep on thinking could have been resolved if only I hadn't mmcd as I would have been close to maternity leave. Must find a good list of jokes to uplift spirits.

tigger15 · 24/11/2009 13:00

Oh and congrats to Apples.

tetleytea · 24/11/2009 15:51

Hi all,

TFLS, sorry to hear you think AFs on it's way, let's hope you're wrong. All i can say is the month i did pregnant (briefly!)i had classic usual cramps for about 3 days before and 4 days after AF was due

Fingers glad you're feeling better.

Well I had another scan this morning and just as i hoped all seems to be well - the scan looked like a very foggy field...weirdly empty...but in a positive way i hasten to add! So now just waiting for the hcg result which i'll get back on thursday.

thefatladyscreams · 24/11/2009 23:15

tetley glad you got the appointment out of the way. Sounds very positive news re the scan. Bit of a pain having to wait until Thursday for the test result but hey ho... must admit I had assumed you would get them today.

fingers - love that story. A little bit of inspiration goes a long way at times. Glad you're feeling better.

tigger alternatively you have got all your bad luck out of the way! I think some of the CDs are out of synch. Hope you get the childminding problems sorted.

Yehhhh good to see you meita. Hope the visit from your parents was lovely and that you're not too manic at the moment. Blase can be good - probably an equal and opposite force to counteract all our obsession! I'm in a much more "what will be, will be" mood at the moment - see how long that lasts

OP posts:
boodleboot · 25/11/2009 13:30

i think i may be a witch - i ask a question about swine flu jab and my son comes down with it the next day....its been very worrying....he is only five and has been soooo poorly. His temp last night rose to nearly 105 degrees....NHS direct said that we just had to ride it out and after getting tamiflu into him it has come right down but man, what a frightening situation to be in....knowing that no ambulance will come and take your child as hospitals are not admitting swine flu victims, hideous...

still, he is much cooler today and not delirious anymore....infact other than bright red cheeks and candlestick snot you wouldn't really know there was much wrong with him

really hoping not to go down with it myself after my continuous exposure for the last 48 hours....fingers crossed it passes me by...don't want to get bloody pig flu on my first 2ww now do i.....especially as i am feeling ultra excited and ultra confident this month {give it another week and i'll be cacking my pants as usual }

good new re the scan tetley fingers i had one session of acupuncture and fell pregnant that cycle last time with my EP...that and Preseed....first cycle i had used that too...have been using preseed this month as so far for me it has had 100percent success rate hee hee...

meita - clearly your administration skills are badly needed on this thread....our list seems to have gone to pot since your parents came, never have we been so disorganised

MrsRigby · 25/11/2009 21:35

Evening

Just found out that we've won the EuroMillions ... £18.00!

DH is on his best behaviour tonight, he's not eating as much as normal (sex isn't going to happen on a full stomach), no alcohol (he doesn't really drink that much anyway) and he's being nice to me. So tonight is the night .

I've been doing a lot of surfing on the internet re miscarrage and it seems that following a miscarrage, your more fertile than usual - for about 3 months. There are loads of women posting on various sites that they've got pregnant again 2-3 weeks following a miscarrage.

Has anyone heard about this or even better experienced it for themselves?

Yes, I'll get pregnant, it's just a case of when - and thats the killer isn't it.

Regarding the swine flu jab, theres no way I'm getting it. It's not been tested (only similar vaccines have been tested) and not enough is known about it. That said, it's been routinely given to all my colleagues at the hospital so I don't know.

boodleboot you really go through it all don't you, poor you and your son. Poor thing. Hope he's doing better and you get a break. I've got my fingers crossed that your the next BFP, you deserve it.

We all do.

Meita · 26/11/2009 09:40

Hmmm it seems the list is a bit difficult to fix! I've tried the intuitive approach and added some days to some people and less to others - over all I suppose everyone will just have to check theirs and correct it if necessary (or wait until the next AF and it will correct itself)

boodle i hope your DS is well recovered and you are not coming down with it too! Though they do say it is highly infectious, so it is quite likely you will get it too. However, it treats different people very differently, with some suffering terribly and others hardly noticing that they have it. So here's me hoping that you are of the latter group!

TFLS any news re AF? A little drop in temperature doesn't really mean anything. On the other hand, a steep drop almost always means that AF is imminent. Hoping you're warm!

Yaaaay MrsR on winning the Euromillions!

There has been so much happening here recently, I don't think I can catch up - though I HAVE been faithfully reading. I will talk to everyone later on and just hope that you are all doing well.

Hi All,

I keep reading that too Mrs R, about fertility being higher straight after mc and i really can't decide whether to go for it again straight away ie as soon as my body decides it's not pregnant anymore! I'm on day 16 post mc and i just got back my hcg level of 182 from the hospital. I think you're pregnant if you're over 25?

I'm in a quandary because on one hand i really don't want an august baby (family reasons, v long story), on the other I'm 42!! And waiting a full month without doing anything seems like madness and really tempting fate!! What to do?

TFLS is being very quiet....let's hope no news is good news

fingerscrossedlegsopen · 26/11/2009 18:52

Hi all

I have also read that Mrs R and seen so many examples of it among friends and friends of friends that I think there is either lots of truth in it or everyone who has an mc keeps trying straight away as they are desparate to get pg and we only hear of those who fall pg immediately? All sounds good to me though. Well done on the win, are you keeping it from the press?!?

Good luck TFLS - fingers crossed for you!

Tetley am with you on the whole quandry thing......WOOHOO some good news for me today which makes the quandry more real - AF restarted post mc. Been feeling v odd and v sore boobs but felt too early for AF as only 3 weeks since major loss but must be the case as scan completely clear. Got more pain unlike usual AF but kind of expected it given what I've read. Did you all have that with first one?

I am now thinking, given other recent health issues and strong antibiotics, do I completely recover, relax, have a few Xmas drinks and get well for a detox in Jan when we can start again or do I go for it, not waste any eggs or time and have a potential August baby (similar issues Tetley)????

Am currently pondering this over a glass of vino. Anyone else in the same boat?? I am v happy to be back in this boat though and feel lucky that AF arrived so soon.

Meita I will update my stats later, thanks for that.

MrsRigby · 26/11/2009 21:04

Evening

We BD last night and already I've got my hopes up . And for a change I actually quite enjoyed it - inside the vagina was a little itchy (I do wash) and his penis rubbed it better (though I'm now a bit itchy again).

I blame the knickers, I don't usually wear underwear, but with all the blood I needed something to stick the sanitary towels too. Can't wait to go back to using tampons, well, that's presuming I'll get a period.

Too much information???

tetleytea don't wait, just go for it as soon as you feel ready. I'm desperate for another baby (2 actually, I'd love 5 children but DH is being a bastard and only allowing me 3 ) and coped very well with miscarriage hence I'm already trying again - 1 week and 2 days later!

I really hope that this being more fertile following miscarriage is true. It would be kind of a nice way of mother nature saying 'I'm sorry, have another go'.

Besides I'm not a patient person, waiting is completely out of the question.

Is it odd that I'm looking forward to BD again on Saturday?

fingerscrossedlegsopen are you joking? There's no way I'm telling the press, every fucker will be moving to Liverpool thinking that they'll win the EuroMillions too. Far too many people here already. I wish DH would get that payrise already so we can move to a farm in the middle of nowhere.

thefatladyscreams · 26/11/2009 21:26

Well I'm out. AF appeared today. A bit disappointed but not feeling too bad. I have had a consolatory glass of wine.

Sorry to post and dash but very long day at work and I'm exhausted and off to bed.

See you tomorrow.

Meita · 27/11/2009 16:39

Dear ladies,

I'm feeling very sad. I just learned that one of the women who I interviewed for my PhD project, lost her baby. The little girl died in the womb, six days after the due date, and was then stillborn.

I only met this woman three times. Once was before she started IVF treatment. She was full of hope that finally things would move forward; also scared, as she had earlier experienced an MMC at 10 weeks. The second time I met her was a day after she got her BFP. She was happy, though in a cautious way; knowing how much could still go wrong. The third time we met, she was 22 weeks pregnant, blooming, so very happy. Then, I was dealing with my own recent MC experience; her very visible bump did not make me sad or envious, but gave me hope.
And now I learned that the girl-baby died before her parents could ever take her into their arms.

This is so desperately sad.
I am going to have to talk to her. I am at a loss of what to say. We are not friends, though our 'professional' relationship was always very warm and friendly. Nothing I can say will really make a difference. And yet I will have to talk to her, and say something. Instead, I just feel like crying.

I'm sorry for burdening you all with this - I just needed to get it of my chest.

boodleboot · 27/11/2009 17:01

bloody hell meita.....that is tragic.....so desperately sad. I couldn't even begin to contemplate what that poor lady and her DH is going through. I would suggest that before you speak to her you pause, take a deep breath and let God direct your speaking....its best to say something rather than avoid speaking to her....

MrsRigby · 27/11/2009 19:55

Jesus christ meita.

I don't know her, but I'm so, so sad reading this.

It must be driving her crazy that the baby died after she should have been born.

Thats so, so sad.

When you think about it, we're actually really lucky miscarring compared to those who have still births or those whose babies die minutes/hours/days after being born.

This is really sad.

Why did the baby die? It just doesn't make sense.

I'm so sorry meita, pass on my condolences when you speak to her. I really feel for her.

CakeandFineWine · 27/11/2009 21:01

Hi all

Sorry I've not been around for ages been super busy but have caught up on all the posts!

MEITA That it such sad news but its def best to say something than nothing the poor lady!! Really doesn't bear thinking about!

TFLS Sorry about AF
MRSR Congrat on your euromillions win I'm so unlucky on the lottery!! Oh and I read lots about the fertility following MC it puts pressure on to think it has to happen sooner I've never BD'ed so much as the month following my MC and my AF was a right kick in the teeth!
TETLEY Good news on the scan x
CHEEPZ Sorry to hear your sad news, thoughts to you and your family
BOODLE I've had my swine flu jab (frontline NHS) thought better to get it now whilst TTC than get PG again and be in early pregnancy in an outbreak! Your poor DS though hope he's feeling better soon. Also I reduced my caffeine to 2 cups per day when pg pre MC and have just stuck with that for now!

Finally APPLES FANTASTIC NEWS!!! Yeah the 1st BFP since I've been on this thread there is some hope

Well I think my AF is technically due tomorrow my 2nd since MC on 31st Aug!!
Got mixed feelings, a bit nauseous, tired etc but some pre-period cramps too so lets watch this space. I did crack and POAS about 6 days ago BFN but would be too early either way me thinks although last time PG test picked up super early?!

I try and keep up and posted with you all!

I AM ON DAY 19 TODAY OF A 28 DAY CYCLE AND BY RECKONING 10dpo. I HAVE HEAVY AND SORE BOOBS. i have no idea why i am writing in capitals....[hmm....i will begin POAS in next two days to watch a line appear as if by magic after 40mins of scrutiny....natural light then strip light, then backwards standing on my head i'm sure...

i have today spent a ridiculous amount of money on christmas presents but am consoling myself with the promise that tomorr is the first sunday in advent and we are putting the tree up with the kids tomorr afternoon.

good to hear from you MrsR and cheepz...

tigger15 · 29/11/2009 09:11

AF came this morning on CD31. Kind of a relief as I don't need to worry about effects of swine flu jab but also I now need to work out what went wrong with the OPK. If you have a positive result and you have BDd the night before and that night shouldn't that be enough? All advice gratefully received.

Meita that is awful. Painful though it is to lose at the early stage most of us do one of my consoling thoughts is always how much worse it would be at a later stage when they are actually nearer people and it is announced to the whole world. I did speak to a friend who has lost 2 at 26 weeks and she said the harder one was when she didn't manage to conceive for a very long time after the 2nd.

barrenbrook · 29/11/2009 11:26

Mrs R So sorry to hear of your loss honey, life is sodding unfair sometimes. Sending you a mahusive hug and large glass of something strong. However your last post made me almost wet myself laughing so I'm feeling like you are bouncing back, yes tmi about the itching but fecking funny!!!

Meita that's just so sad, I'm completely lost for what to say, I can't even begin to imagine how devastated she must be. I'm sure you will find the words when you speak with her, you always seem to know the right thing to say on here

Forgive my lack of posting again, I've been trying to quieten my mumsnet and TTC obsession so have been lurking and occasionally reading. AF got me CD 26 again this month, fecking cycles are up the spout after ANOTHER 2 days of spotting, so that's three months on the bounce. Bollocks!

I read that it could be a B6 deficiency or low progesterone so am trying a B complex vitamin to see if that helps first before I head to the quacks. I also had my first session of reflexology, it was divine! I have no idea if it will help or not but it was heavenly so will be keeping it up.

that being said am not sure dh completed the job last night as a) he had a huge amount to drink, b) it slipped out at the wrong moment and c) there has not been alot of residual 'mess' today... am trying to give mrsr a run for the money in the tmi stakes

either way am hoping if we go tonight as well then maybe ......

boodle step away from the POAS tests... save yourself a fortune

Hi all

Sorry for quick post, been away, now lots of work to do .

Meita god that's so tragic, I was so sorry to read your post. I would echo everything that has been said already and am sure when the time comes you will say the right thing.

Sorry for the AF arrivals and good luck Boodle!!

As for me..still got the kidney pain and really not feeling right. Desperate to try this month but petrified health issues may cause another mc (was kidding myself on last post that could "relax and wait" think I was trying to stop obsessing IYKWIM...but really do need to sort health out).

So booking in at GP this week and will see how I go.

Have a good week everyone, hoping to have some good news from those at the top of the list soon xx
