ET sucked. Either you are all incredibly stoic and have major pain thresholds or I am pathetic. Don't get me started about the holding the pee in thing, the nerve in my back that was trapped by my mega full bladder that practically paralysed me or the cold sweats and decidedly 'average' embryos.

This morning we had 8 'average' embryos and 1 'good' embryo that had hardly divided which in my uninformed opinion sounds totally pants. (sorry that you have to hear all this again Caitni if you have been on the other thread). So one good and one average went back in and I am sat at home totally traumatised by what was, and I do not exaggerate, one of the worst experiences of my life. If child birth is like that this could have been a mistake...LOL .

I am totally self absorbed and not enquiring about anyone else for which I apologise. I do of course love you all and hope you do not live in Cumbria. xx

digitalgirl · 20/11/2009 20:25

Oh bucky I've never had ET so can't compare it to childbirth but it sounded traumatic but maybe, like childbirth, you'll forget all about it once you have a little wriggly bean growing inside you.

Doesn't average mean you have just as much chance as anyone else does of the embie being viable? And doesn't good mean you actually have a better chance?that's got to be positive right?

Got my fingers crossed. And a big mug of hot chocolate here for you.

I am still waiting for the spotting to stop. But where I thought I'd be absolutely desperate for it to finish I'm actually in no rush to bring on the next cycle.

Hope everyone else is ok.

MrsHappy · 20/11/2009 20:31

Bucky that sounds no fun. IME if people are messing about with my cervix it really helps to be relaxed (lots of deep breathing), which of course it would be flipping hard to be if you needed to pee. I know bugger all about embryo grading, but there is this website which I have looked at for lots of things over the past couple of years. It says that 2 cells after 48 hours is fine. Please don't fret- I really doubt that embryos can be judged purely on their looks.

And for the record I can promise that childbirth (even though I haven't done the crowning bit ever!) is now't like having a catheter put through your cervix! For a start, it is something your body wants to do! When it comnes to it you'll be fine .

DG glad you are ok.

PandaEis · 21/11/2009 09:05

hi ladies

bucky poor you i can assure you that in comparison to childbirth, i would definitely say that having a catheter put into your cervix with a full bladder is worse!! i was DYING for a wee while having my HSG and it was not pleasant!! CB is suchan empowering and urge-led experience and i am 100% sure you will do great when giving birth to the little bean growing inside you now as you are now, for all intents and purposes, pregnant!! get your feet up

xx ei xx

Caitni · 22/11/2009 19:48

Evening ladies

Bucky I'm so sorry that ET was so horrible . Still, hope it's (becoming) a distant memory now that you have the pair of them safely on board . I agree with the others (and especially Lottie over on Assisted Conception) re the grading. The consultant and embryologist I spoke to both agreed that there was no better environment for the embryos than the mother's womb, as everything else is an approximation. So they are really in the best place for them . I'm keeping everything crossed for you that you get the positive result you deserve

Digi hope the spotting stops soon xx

Ei loved your description of child birth

MrsH hope your family is thriving - LOVED the latest pictures on FB. P is one cute little baby (I was aaaahing so much that my DH actually had to sneak a look too ).

Big waves to everyone else. Hope everyone has had a good weekend. We've had a lovely weekend here, just me and DH (for the first time since early Sept!), and managed to get some baby organising in (we bought the car seat! And sorted some other stuff, so suddenly can start crossing things off my (many) lists )

Madoldbird · 23/11/2009 11:27

Bucky I checked in on friday, but haven't had time to post. Sounds like it was a horrible experience for you, but i'm pleased that you now have 2 safely on board (and don't worry about grading - we were told that there is little difference between success rates for all but the "worst" grade).

Sorry - got to dash - I'm being summoned as usual!

readyfornumber2and3 · 24/11/2009 08:30

Bucky Sorry ET was unpleasant but yay for having to on board You never know you may be joining MOB and myself in the hard slog of multiples

MrsH Hope everything is clearing up with dd2 and that she is feeding better, how is dd1 enjoying her little sister?

Caitni Glad you are getting to cross things off your lists (I always have multiple lists on the go lol) and your little one will be here before you know it

DG Hope things are ok for you x

EI How are you? How is the weightloss going? Love your description of childbirth x

MOB How are the boys? cant believe how fast they are growing up!

Hi to anyone else I have forgotten x

Well things are very busy in the ready household (nothing new there!!) as we are in the middle of moving house, we got the keys on friday but its been a slow process as my Mum had a knee operation last monday and is unable to help with the kids so its took longer than we hoped but we should be done by the weekend, we need to be anyway as dps Dad is visiting saturday and his Mum on sunday!

I cant believe we get married 2 weeks monday it has come round so quick! My dress has arrived and fits really well so the dieting seems to be working (have lost 21 lbs in 4 weeks)

The twins are doing really well and are getting really cute with all the smiles and gurgling and as they only wake once in the night we are keeping on top of our sleep lol

ds1 has calmed down and is lovely with them now and loves cuddling upto them

I have done all my christmas shopping and just need to wrap it all and then do the big shop before we host christmas lunch and a party boxing day! I cant wait for a rest in the new year lol

xxBuckyxx · 24/11/2009 19:50

Hello folks . I've cheered up a bit now...

Ready so glad everything is going so well .

Thank you everyone else for being so supportive. I'm only on day 4 of my 2ww!! Maybe Day 6 if I am counting from EC..., still no testing till at least next Wednesday!

My boss is away on holiday and I am in charge so work is super stressful , not really compatible with being all calm and serene and creating a nice environment for Embies to want to hang out in.... Still, I really feel that what will be will be and as long as I behave myself and don't act like a fool, I can't make much of a difference now. I am trying to plan lots of things to distract me for the next week...Hope it goes quickly.

Do we want to have a pre christmas meet up? I haven't seen Mrs H, Caitni and DG in ages and it would be great to meet you in person MOB. Ei, its probably a bit far to come if unless you have a London trip planned but if you do let us know. RFN2&£ not sure where you are and you sound super busy but you are more than welcome to join us. JB, O7MTW and anyone lurking who we know and love you are welcome too. xx

xxBuckyxx · 24/11/2009 19:52

Um I didnt mention PnM but only because it goes without saying that she is invited

Madoldbird · 25/11/2009 09:46

OOH! Yes please to a meet up!! I really, really hope i can make it this time

Bucky I think the 2ww is the worst bit of IVF, but it sounds like you are busy ATM, so hopefully that will help a little. Try not to worry about stress etc. I'm of the opinion that once they're in there, that what will be will be. I was really ill on my 2ww, and had a horrendous cough - I was absolutely convinced that i had coughed them out!!

RRN2&3 You must be geting very excited about the wedding!! Don't get too exhausted with everything going on though - hope you get a rest at some point over Christmas.

Love to everyone. XXXX

Caitni · 25/11/2009 11:51

Morning ladies

Bucky being super busy at work sounds like a great way to get through the TWW (MOBs right that it's really hard mentally). I'm still super excited for you and your two embies . Would LOVE to meet up - let me know the date and I hope I can make it (currently stressing about how little time I actually have left before Christmas . When I am going to be able to buy presents??)

RFN2&3 less than 2 weeks to your wedding - woo hoo! Very excited for you

MOB I remember your tww illness - LMAO at worried you had coughed them out! Bet you look at them now and laugh about things like that . I'd also love to meet you properly at the meet up (feels like I know you of course so strange when I remember that we've never actually met ).

Big waves to everyone else. I'm swerving between being comedy busy at work and just not caring enough to be bothered! Roll on the weekend (and it's only Wed ).

xxx

JollyBear · 25/11/2009 13:33

Hello everyone,

bucky So sorry not to have popped in before, I've been thinking about you. The 2ww must just be agonising. Being busy at work should keep you occupied but make sure you let your DP spoil you when you get home.

I'm up in Lancashire (thankfully not Cumbria, poor people), so your wonderful sounding dog lady would have been a bit far. Thankfully my mum found someone to take the dog. She now has a home where it is just her and her new owner and is doing really well.

I'm glad everyone is well, 2 weeks to the wedding R4n2! caitni You must be getting a lovely tum on you now. I really want to catch up properly, I'll bob in one evening this week. Work calls, sorry!!

digitalgirl · 27/11/2009 20:06

Hi ladies, how's the 2ww bucky when are you supposed to test?

Christmas meet up sounds fab.

Have a job lined up to start mid-jan. So my compensation for not getting pg this cycle will be the distraction of having a regular job and being an employee again.

Oh dear, sounds like I've fallen off the 'casual' ttc wagon and straight into the pit of obsessively planning bfn distractions.

xxBuckyxx · 27/11/2009 20:53

OK, I will do a FB invite thingy...hope I have more success than last time ladies.

PandaEis · 28/11/2009 09:17

hey ladies
DG welcome to the obsessive TTC side of the fence hope you are feeling well
bucky how are those beans holding up? hopefully, depending on when you lot fancy meeting up, i will be able to attend this fabulous event me and DH were thinking about taking a little overnight trip and i have a cheap offer for a hotel room so i might figure out a way that i can orient this overnight stay with the meet up
hi to everyone else
xx ei xx

PicknMix · 28/11/2009 22:39

Hello everyone!

i apologise for not being around, been all over the ,place recently....

Just wanted to pop my head in but am just off out again now so it's just a post and run job to tell you I love you all and will be back to actually write something worthwhile soon.

PnM xx

MrsHappy · 29/11/2009 21:22

Evening all

PnM welcome back Mrs! Did you have fun in China? I bet your DH was pleased to have you back - it feels like you've been gone for an age!

Bucky when can you test? Don't worry too much about being busy at work. I kind of think that if it is going to work it will IYSWIM.

Caitni were you shopping around my neck of the woods on Saturday at lunchtime? I thought I saw you when I was out with my rabble. If it was you the bump looks fab!

DG the new job sounds like excellent timing. Just think, when the ttc works, it'll be so much easier going on mat leave with some mat pay coming in...

Hello to Ei, JB, GG (if you ever lurk), MOB and anyone I have stoopidly forgotten. I have to go to bed now because I am pretty tired. DD2 is so sweet but work too. DD1 is being a lovely big sister, which is great to watch. Hope everyone is well.

xxBuckyxx · 30/11/2009 18:48

MrsH official test day is Friday but of course I tested today. It was a BFP, pretty clear BFP, but I have had cramps all day and some spotting so far, so not overly optimistic right now ....

Just waiting to see if AF turns up proper...

Welcome home PnM we missed you loads. xx

MrsHappy · 30/11/2009 20:00

Now Bucky, do you not have to wait until Friday to be certain that the trigger shot is out of your system?

Don't worry about the spotting - I am sure that all sorts of strangeness can happen with IVF (or indeed any pregnancy). I guess on Friday you'll know for sure.

Fingers crossed.

xxBuckyxx · 30/11/2009 20:49

The bleeding is really heavy now. It is 14 days since the trigger so it should be out my system now. I will guess it was just a CP...this is like my second BFP...so pretty sure it's over. .

That's it for me I'm afraid. I'm out. Had enough. No more ttc for me.

PandaEis · 30/11/2009 21:49

oh bucky have you spoken to your clinic? did they give you progesterone? i have heard that helps in the early days of IVF pregnancies. im so sorry this is happening. you deserve to have such a fantastic pregnancy and a beautiful baby at the end of it...not this shite all the time(excuse the french) im so sorry xx

digitalgirl · 30/11/2009 22:55

Oh bucky so sorry to hear you're bleeding. Please take care of yourself.

Madoldbird · 01/12/2009 09:18

Oh bucky, I'm so, so sorry to hear that. Lots of love. XX

Caitni · 01/12/2009 11:57

Oh Bucky so so sorry to hear this . It's just so unfair. Thinking of you and sending you massive cyber [higs]

JollyBear · 01/12/2009 13:55

Oh bucky I'm so so sorry. Take care >
