hello all,
MOB - I think that we do have the same relaxation pregnancy CD. It does have a horseshoe on the front and a very Lancashire sounding lady intoning, dare I say it, hypnotically, about baaaybeees! Not long to go now - have you lost any more plug? If you don't post here today, we'll assume you are otherwise occupied and very close to meeting Lewis and Jensen I hope the weather isn't getting you down too much and I love Readyfor2&3's cooling tips.
Jollybear - ha ha, love the washing up bowl idea . Very Blue Peter resourceful and much cheaper than a paddling pool! I can just see your DD sitting there splashing around in her sun hat. I completely agree with you about sunburn worries for delicate baby skin and shade, sunhats etc. I am 34 and a very pale skinned Celt. Hell, I didn't see sunshine until 23, when I moved to England! I burn in seconds at the moment, so can only imagine how careful you have to be with your DD's baby skin in this heat. DH's best friend came back from visiting a friend of his (an acquaintance of ours) who now lives in Abu Dhabi with his very fair, blonde haired, blue eyed two year old DD. DH's friend, who is a single, lad about town type who doesn't notice anything 'cept beer 'n'birds, said he was shocked to see she had a deep, deep sun tan and burns . Her parents just let her run around the garden or beach with no or minimal protection. Makes me shudder!
butterflEi - I am LOVING the new name . In fact, I insist that you never change it again, because it is so good I can't believe that you haven't POAS yet, you restrained woman! Come back and tell us when you do succumb to temptation. Fingers crossed that your AF has stayed away (premanently, or at least until you have another baby )
Bucky - happy holidays to you in Austria! Are you enjoying the break and the weather is good. 'Tis dreary and grey again in London today, so I think the heatwave is over here.
caitni - Grrr, yes, it's a pain I have to refrigerate the stimming drugs. What did you use? I'm on Gonal F, so it's fridges all the way amd I may also be taking the trigger shot on Saturday which needs cooled! What a palaver it all is , but worth it . How are you feeling today? I had heard that bleeding gums could be a symptom, but hope it has eased off now for you and you've acquired a suitable over the shoulder boulder holder to encase your poor (.)(.) (ha, I haven't used that symbol for ages ). I'm so excited to find out if it's one or two. Have you allowed yourself to be excited yet or are you holding back for now? I know what you mean about the Karen Carpenter connotations of laxitives . I remember trying to buy them once (for a very legitimate need ) and the phramacist refused, simply on the basis I was a young woman whom he suspected of annorexia. Maybe some Fybogel or something like that would be ok in pregnancy? Hope it eases soon
readyfor2and3 - 7 weeks to go fot you . Where has the time gone?! So excited for you. Big happy birthday to your DS! Hope he enjoyed his day and has got over the number 3 obsession.
MrsH - big wave to you! How are you doing at work. I hope it has calmed down for you and you are enjoying it and not suffering the ill effects of a commute in the heat.
Hello to anyone else, or anyone missed.
Now for the me, me, me, me, me update. I had my Day 9 scan this morning and there are about 7 ripe eggs, so not such a great haul this time I suppose it is ok though? (someone please tell me it is ok, to cheer me up ) Funnily enough, I am more anxious this time round that last IVF cycle -not sure why . I am certainly not work stressed , but maybe it's because I'm not working I have more time to dwell or know what could go wrong. It also feels like there is more riding on this cycle. Unfortunately, we're having family ishoooos with my feckless father, which is pushing my blood pressure sky high . He's an alcoholic and has another melt down and my sisters are having to sort out the mess (I'm too far away), but it's all raaaaather stressful and, because it's my dad, quite difficult to ignore. I'll have to get that relaxation CD out again!
It looks like egg collection will be Monday or Tuesday. I'll find out this afternoon when the clinic calls, but prob won't have internet access until Sunday to let you know (assuming you are interested ). If it's on Monday, I'll need to have a very restrained hen weekend indeed in Cardiff! Not only no drinking, but relaxing early nights too. I'm usually known for being a last-one-standing-party-animal, so I think everyone will be rubbing their eyes in disbelief when I go back to my room at 10pm with a good book and cup of decaffeinated tea My room-mate doesn't know about the IVF, but I'm comfortable telling her - she's my old flatmate and very calm and, once I explain, I'm sure she won't freak that I'll be using drugs, needles and swabs in her hotel room I've also bought a teeny, tiny cool bag and ice packs for the train journey for keeping the drugs cool.
Have a lovely weekend ladies and please excuse my mammoth post! I'm off to fit in some reflexology today before my train to see if I can stim my ovaries any more,
