Rom - mate {{{{HUGS}}}}}, me thinketh you are going to be one of our "triumph over adversity pregnancy stories" on another thread....you mark my words!!

teuch · 16/05/2005 11:55

busy thread already! looks like I will be testing with Frizbe and Handbag...when you aiming to test and what you using?

Going on last cycle I reckon I would have been due AF (note positive language..instead of AF IS due ) a week on wednesday (CD35) so I will try to hold out until then.

Any symptoms?
Teuch x

romilly · 16/05/2005 12:01

frizbe and bella thank you
and bella i really hope and pray you are right!

who is our first tester on the thread then? frizbe/handbag and teuch????? are you paying attention head office!

Frizbe · 16/05/2005 12:05

Oh gaw'd are we the 1st ones spotlight on us three then

HandbagAddiction · 16/05/2005 12:12

Eek - how nerve racking being some of the first to test!

I was thinking of trying to hold off until at least Monday - which would be CD31 but DPO14. However, this weekend I have my sister hen weekend and we're off to a spa for the day followed by dinner and much drinking. Given the fact that I've signed up for a mud wrap - I'm a bit concerned about what it might contain, etc.
So I may be tempted to do a test on Friday morning - just in case .

No noticeable symptons although getting some odd tingling in my boobs. Having convinced myself last month that I was pregnant, I'm making no such mistakes this week and in fact, i'm busily convincing myself I'm not pregnant so that I can avoid the disappointment!

Frizbe · 16/05/2005 12:21

Handbag, you best test 1st on Friday then! I'm gona hang on until the following Friday if I can, just to make sure I'm well over, as I was 5 days late last month! although I have accounted for that this time, so as AF should be here on 24th I reckon if its not I'm bound to cave in before the Friday

MINNIE1 · 16/05/2005 12:35

Wishing you all the best with your new thread, and sending you baby dust.. Cant wait for all the orders to deliver.

rom just read your story (((hugs))) well im having a really shit day thought i was ok went to go to work been in floods of tears since 7 this morning drove to leics from staffs couldnt go into any of my calls sobbing my heart out to my boss, freind and mum not hubby as hes not being v supportive at all keeps changing the subject so we are really clashing badly things that bad today ive gone and poured myself a vodka and coke everyone always says im such a strong person well today im broken i feel like the my hearts been ripped how can i have a positive on fri only hrs later for it to be taken away again and now be negative lifes bloody shit sometimes !!!

teuch · 16/05/2005 12:58

Debbsy - it is soooo hard sometimes . Most of us on here have been through the mill so at least you know we are all here to support you.

I also had bad weekend with DH but remember they just feel so helpless and men tend to like being able to solve things - they just can't solve these situations and don't know how to deal with it. My advice is just tell him straight what you need from him - they ain't mind-readers! Whether that is a cuddle, a sympathetic ear or something else. And we also can't expect them to react in the same way we do as it ain't their body and it is 'just different'.

big hugs pal - hope your day gets better x

Diddle · 16/05/2005 13:00

oh debbsy, yes life is shit i know just how you feel, the tears keep coming here too, sorry that you're DH is being an arse, he might not be sure hwo to deal with it though, men are funny things. He'll come round once its sunk it and he realises what an unsupportive person he is being.

Debbsy · 16/05/2005 13:04

thanks teuch thanks diddle

milosmum · 16/05/2005 13:07

hi all- good so see some newbies on here- welcome to all
rom- hope head office are very remorseful at keeping you waiting!!!
im on 9dpo- so im waiting and waiting and waiting to test! ff says not to test until 28- sod that!

Diddle · 16/05/2005 13:11

thanks for all your opk advice, might wait this cycle with crossed fingers and then try opk,s if no luck this time. we'll see

Bella23 · 16/05/2005 13:16

Debbsy - arh bless honey. My advice would be to let out all your emotions, have a good cry as I promise it will get better. We can't always be positive, sometimes its just not possible!!
As for sharing with your Hubby......well I am afraid that they just don't get the pain we feel, can feel quite isolating but you've just got to realise that its not their fault they just don't get it sometimes!

{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}

Harrizeb · 16/05/2005 13:55

Oh Debbsy I'm so sorry . Sending you hugs and hope that DH is able to be more supportive soon. Changing the subject is typical of a mate of mine, until he's got his head round something he'll avoid the subject. Doesn't help you atall though. Look after yourself and give yourself some space to cry, just cause people see you as strong doesn't mean you not allowed to cry. xx IYSWIM?

teuch · 16/05/2005 13:57

Okay girls - what are your views on behaviour in the 2ww re drinking, coffee, etc?

Last time I was really good and stayed off everything 'bad' as soon as the ewcm appeared but this month (since no indication that I even O'd) I ahve not been so well-behaved...

What's the general consensus? Proceed as if pg/proceed as normal with caution or proceed as normal regardless? I know the medical recommendations but it makes the 2ww all the more difficult and it's not easy explaining to folks why you suddenly stopped having coffee or wine!

Also, I have a night on wednesday...

Bella23 · 16/05/2005 14:12

Teuch - I have tried the "non drinking" for a whole month with no success so now I have realised that I simply can't go without booze every time the 2ww comes around or I shall turn into a loon waiting !!!

Concensus on other threads seems to be that a few drinks before a BFP has no adverse effects.

Hope this helps

romilly · 16/05/2005 14:15

debbsy - so sorry to hear your having a tough time now. bella is right, you do need to cry and get it out. god knows, i had a good cry this weekend, several in fact. i am not all surprised it is hitting you now - i was more amazed that you were sounding so ok. and as for the men, they have no idea - and can be tactless and hopeless and infuriating. it just isnt the same heartbreak for them i dont think. well, not all of them anway.

romilly · 16/05/2005 14:16

teuch - ditto bella

it could be the last drinks for a while, hopefully!

yellowbear · 16/05/2005 14:17

Hi rom, still lurking and keeping up on everyones news. Not quite ready to join the dec thread yet, got a scan on thursday so I may feel ready after that.

Sending lots of babydust your way.

Harrizeb · 16/05/2005 15:33

Ok I have managed to confuse myself completely. Was going through my diary this morning to check what CD I am and discovered that AF is due saturday. My bits are really heavy and getting sore and they haven't done that about AF time since before i was pg with DS, then on Saturday at the Baby show, my friend was talking to a lady about breast pumps and I felt like my milk had just come in, i wouldn't have been surprised to see damp patches on my t-shirt!!!! I know that this has to be my brain playing tricks on me but it's got me wondering!!!

romilly · 16/05/2005 15:36

ooh harrizeb - could it be our first order is in already?! keep us posted...

yellowbear - all the stickiest stickydust in the world for your scan this thurs. we'll be thinking of you.

Frizbe · 16/05/2005 15:38

Teuch I ditto also! especially carry on with the coffee, as IME you'll probably go off it if you are preggers anyway (either that or crave it, when you can't have it!)
Milos Mum your a day ahead of me n Handbag, so you get to be this thread's 1st tester! hurrah! (unless there is anyone else out there to beat us to it?)

Debsey, I'll can only echo what everyone else has said below me, big hugs hun.
