Hi all

Stats then:

  • CD17 of a cycle which varies from about CD26 to CD33 (normally CD28/29)
  • Month 9 of TTC for baby #2
  • DD is now 3y 1m - she took a while to concieve (15m, an early mc and then about 14/15m thereafter)
  • having a break from all the temping, OPKs, etc. this month or so - too stressful I think!

Have no specifics for the order - just a happy, healthy baby would be good. Think I will leave the twin orders for others though!

Debbsy · 15/05/2005 19:27

i had a laproscopy they are v good and they photograph your organs and it pinpoints anything its only a tiny op.You go down to theatre and they put you to sleep then they make 2 tiny cuts one just above your belly button, and the other just above your pubic bone (its so the camera can pass through)its a camera on the end of a long tube and they then take pics of your tubes ovaries womb etc my dr came and showed them to me and dh afterwards it was v v good as u see all your bits v clearly and they show you whats what. You bleed afterwards for a few days and its a bit difficult getting up for a couple of days but after that your fine.A scan is like when you have a baby with the jelly and they put it on your belly but if they cant see clearly they use something else that goes inside you to see more clearly ( i had 25 of these scans when i was ill and they are nothing to worry about honest) good luck bcos you really do need to find out why your bleeding all the time and you watch it will be something like a cyst or fibroid and then depending on the size they just laser it away problem solved and you can get on with ttc

Debbsy · 15/05/2005 19:28

good luck anyway hun thanks milo im suprisingly ok though think i expected it from fri as its happened b4 thanks though xx

charleepeters · 15/05/2005 19:30

awww thanks debsy your a sweety im sure i will be ok and if its anything worse that i will get through it i have been through worse and i know you will all be there to help me, but im thinking positive and hopefully we can get on with having lots of babies soon thanks again

Harrizeb · 15/05/2005 19:48

Hi excellent thread title well done Munz.

Been off enjoying the sunshine that we've had here over the weekend, DS has been a fiend all weekend not sure what that's all about although it could be the terrible twos in full flood. He's been practising for about 12 mths so think he's finally got the hang of it.

My stats:
Me 34
DH 32
DS 23 mths
First month of TTC although we seem to have missed a vital ingredient - no bding happening here so far - tried this morning and got interupted by DS - see if we can finish it tonight you really didn't need to know that!

On Day 12 or 13 of a normal 28 day cycle so might be about ov day, completely by chance if it is.

I went to the baby show yesterday with a friend who's 25 weeks with her first - it was great, found it far more useful now than when I went before having DS had far more of an idea of what to look for etc. Have decided on my push chair for this time round, if we get there that is .

Enjoy your evening
H x

darlingbud · 15/05/2005 20:10

I'm quite new to ttc thread so here are my stats.

I'm 29 next month.
Dh 33
DD is 2.4 years

Only been ttc #2 for a week so very new to this.
Finished pill packet on 2nd May and has the usual af. Didn't start taking it again on Monday 9th and started another af on Friday 13th May. Since then been in real pain in my stomach (contraction like cramps lasting 4 seconds) and lower back pain. Hopefully will be gone soon.

Any advice on what I should class as cd1?

romilly · 15/05/2005 20:30

Tabs - i would take the first temp reading as you really need at least 3 hours sleep before taking it - so your 2nd reading wouldnt apply. its annoying when that happens right when you need an accurate reading.

Love to all x

Tabs · 15/05/2005 21:36

Thanks Rom. I was afraid that you'd say that, as it's exactly what I would have said to anyone else asking the same question. I did (just) get 3 hours sleep between 6 and 9 though, although the 6 o clock reading was much closer to my normal time.

So I wonder what's going on with my body? Had +ve OPK on Thurs, and EWCM from Mon-Fri, but dry now, so just doesn't make any sense if I haven't ov'ed.

And tomorrow's temp will be no use as have to get up at 4:30am to take DH to airport.

Was feeling really positive about this month, but now I just don't know what to think.

Tabs · 16/05/2005 05:55

Feeling cheerier today - had v high temp despite taking it at 4:30 today, so def ov'ed and BD'ed at right time, even if I'm not sure when that right time was!! Have decided to discard yesterday's temp altogether, and let FF make what sense it can from the rest of them!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend and looking forward to another week at work!!

Debbsy - sorry to read about yesterday's test. Sure the holiday will do you good.

Darlingbud - think cycles can be a bit up the creek when you first stop pill, but I'd count Friday as CD1.

HandbagAddiction · 16/05/2005 08:19

Blimey Munz - 40 posts and the thread was only started on Sunday morning! Looks like this is going to be another busy one!!

Hope everyone is OK - I'll chat and catch up with everyone in a bit more detail later...but thought I'd take the time to post up some stats as I'd like to join in again this month!

I'm 35
DH is 41
DD is 20 months
TTC #2 for two months
CD24 for me today - but I think I ov'd late last month so am only DPO8. No massive symptons this month - unlike last month where I was convinced I was pregnant because I had 2 weeks of chronic PMT.
Using OPKs because I'm so impatient, have a need to be scientific and can't handle the 'let's just try it and see' approach.

Wishing everyone lots of luck on this thread and looking forward to sharing some highs and lows with you all over the next month or so!

teuch · 16/05/2005 09:57

happy new thread all!

Stats - me 27, DH 27, unexpected BFP in DEc 04 (1 unprotected!!) with missed m/c in Feb 05 at 11 weeks.
Cycle 3 (actively trying for 2) - usually 31-35 days with ov around CD19/20.
Currently CD26 but not using any tracking methods - no sign of ewcm this month so despite bedding at least every other day ALL month, not very hopeful.

WARNING!! Possibly TMI...although no ewcm, was quite creamy about CD14-16 then totally dried up, until yesterday (CD25) when it became really creamy again. Almost like a bout of thrush coming on (which I am prone to, and could possible blame on all the lager on saturday...) Also, CP has stayed low all month (tho I must admit not really knowing what I am digging around for ! But is now unreachable...which is where it was before O last month and stayed there!!

Very confused.

Oh, and this should technically be our last TTC for quite some time as personal circumstances are set to change dramatically next year and pregnancy/newborn would be difficult (not to mention risky...)

Sorry for long, boring post. Good Luck one and all!

Bella23 · 16/05/2005 10:28

Morning Ladies.....

Well am in the throws of bding in the morning but have to admit would have prefered the extra sleep this morning instead!

CD13 so hoping to OV in the next few days.

Teuch - mmmm, not sure what to make of EWCM...possible it could mean good news as I think if pregnant then it changes a little for some people.

Handbag - you are in the right company on this thread as none of us are of the "Lets wait and see variety" ...we have NO patience!!

Tabs - glad you are feeling a little bit brighter

Wendy - how are you honeybun?

Rom - new thread - this is going to be the one for us !!

Puppy · 16/05/2005 10:31

Hope you all have a great day.

Diddle · 16/05/2005 11:26

Hello, can you ladies tell me what the benefits of OPks are, apart from obviously knowing when i have ovulated. Can it help me determine a more acuurate due date etc? I'm on my first cycle after my first AF after my m/c and i am wondering whether to use them or not?

yellowbear · 16/05/2005 11:26

Hi Rom, just popping in to say sorry about AF . Hoping this thread produces as many graduates as the last and that you are there at the top!

Good luck to all who are ttc!

Bella23 · 16/05/2005 11:35

Diddle - no don't think they would give a more accurate due date. We on here like them as they can show that you ovulate earlier or later than previously thought. Also the digital ones give a nice smiley face which is a bit of a thrill!.............well you've got to grab it where you can haven't you with this ttc lark!!

Tabs · 16/05/2005 11:36

Hi Diddle

Knowing when you ovulated does help determine EDD, but if your cycles are regular and not ridiculously long then it won't be much more accurate than just using LMP date. And remember that EDD is just that estimated due date.

I think that the main reason why so many of us like using them is to help to pinpoint ov, and thus to time our BDing more precisely, thus increasing our chances of getting pg in each cycle.

Hope this helps

romilly · 16/05/2005 11:38

diddle - you can determine due dates from when you ovulated but using OPK's will not necessarily make it more accurate. OPK's are not 100% reliable but they can be a very useful tool in conjunction with other signs of Ov'ing - watching CM being THE most important. welcome back to the thread and the crazy world of peeing on sticks!

glad to see a few other girls married to older men, LOL!

debbsy - so sorry about bfn after your stressful weekend. you are being v. strong and brave.

charlee - all the best for tomorrow honey

wendy - you asked me on end of last thread how long i'd been ttc'ing for before. well, mr.rom had radiotherapy following cancer when he was 25 yrs old so we were told things might be difficult for us and i had almost lost hope (we hadnt used contraception for years) when i became pg. it was probably one of the happiest days of my life. no, it was the happiest day. followed a few months later by one of the saddest days you know the rest....
