Hi all

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine ( not that I can see it much from my desk in the office )

Well I had my monthly cd9-12 scan and it showed 2 good size eggs so they gave me the HCG injection again so all good.
It seems when I take the clomid a bit later it seems to have a better reaction. I take it cd 2,3,4,7,8 ( miss 2 days in the middle )
Weird but hey it works so who am I to argue. I still have 1 month left on clomid as miscalculated so hopefully I will get lucky this month or next.

Clure - Hope you had a relaxing holiday. I know a bit about this HCG injection as Ive had it for the last 2 months. All I know is they can only do it if 1 or 2 follicles show on scan and they are similiar in size. Its just an injection into your belly or leg and you will definatley ovulate 36 hrs after. I do not know if PCOS prevents this injection though.

Paddington - After I had the HSG I was a day early but everyone is different and if you was a bit stressed about the procedure it may put you back a couple of days. You never know you may get a BFP (stranger things have happened ).

Vic - Welcome to the forum and hope you get some useful info and support from the lovely ladies on here

Hi all,

It's not sunny here and my ds has a tummy bug!

It's nice to chat to others in a similar situation who can help. I hadn't heard about the HCG injection, can I be nosy and ask why they give that to you?

Also, Claire, how many months are you allowed to be on clomid at a time?

Clure, thanks for your advice about taking clomid at night time. I will definately try that, I have only taken it once before but it didn't seem to like me very much!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 17/08/2009 16:12

Am back from my hols as well and I'm half knackered through jet lag!.

BeanieB - am very sorry to read about your miscarriage.

Sending a warm welcome to all newbies.

Attila

Clure · 17/08/2009 17:09

Thanks for that clairebear I will raise this with the consultant next appointment. I don't have PCOS but have imbalanced hormones and low egg supply so I'd need to chat to him to see if this would be suitable for me!
welcome back Attila

paddington21 · 17/08/2009 19:48

stac14 · 18/08/2009 20:24

Hi ladies
sorry I havent been on for a while, it was my 30th on Friday so been really busy all weekend.
Welcome back clure and atilla also hi to vics23

How are you all doing? paddington have you tested again?

I have been bleeding on and off since the scan is anyone aware if this is normal? Also should I have took the clomid by now?
clure metformin is a pill given to help with pcos which can be used in conjunction with clomid.

How are the rest of you girls? xxx

Vics32 · 18/08/2009 20:52

Hi everyone,

Hope you are all OK this evening. AF is 3 days late, this NEVER happens to me, but only BFN's to show for it Goodness knows what's happening here!!

I had an ectopic preganancy a few years ago, I'm concerned it may have happened again. Trying to stay upbeat, but not really feeling it I'm afraid.

Happy birthday stac!

Take care all x x x x

clairebear88 · 18/08/2009 21:20

hiya

The HCG injection is given to make your eggs definately release on time. Its good so you can time bding better or if you release late (short luteal phase ) this can prevent pregnancy too so it makes them release on time.
I have to pop along to the hospital pharmacy and pay £7.20 then go back to nurse and she does it for me. Im not sure if its only used alongside clomid but its just an extra help.

vics - If this is your first month on clomid it can throw your cycle out so can be early or late. I reacon this does smooth out the longer your on it. I was given 6 months worth of clomid which I think is standard. I was on it for 5 months last year too with no luck. I definately notice a positive difference when taking it before bed so good advice

welcome back atilla glad you had a good hol

hope you had a good bday stac.

cxx

paddington21 · 18/08/2009 21:52

hey clairebear thank you for your info £7.20 is not bad at all i was expecting a couple of zeros on that.
agree with clairebear on this one vics hang on in there 1st month is always odd.

hey stac! hope you are well 30th woop woop! i have heard the bleeding is normal. i still have no af and its my bday 2moro

i am refusing to test again basically because if i see one more blooming negative test i will quite honestly throw it far out the window and perhaps tantrum... i admit now although no af the hormones and irrational thought are very much alive.

hope and dust x

KiwiKat · 18/08/2009 21:57

Happy birthday Stac! Hope you partied hard and had a fantastic time.

Clure · 18/08/2009 22:21

hiya all! hoping you are all well. I'm having a lovely extended holiday, DH and myself took DD in the bike trailer and did a lovely 30k ride in the sunshine

Happy birthday stac hope you are recovering after scan, I agree with paddinton in that some irregular bleeding is to be expected

clairbear thanks so much for your information on HCG shot. I feel this may be another next step for me when I see consultant (fingers crossed they won't move my appointment again!)
paddington hope you receive all your birthday wishes x

I'm CD4 and had a really rough af this month (provera induced) feeling better today though.
Off to the beach tomorrow

babydust xxxxxxx

Clure · 18/08/2009 22:21

sorry Hi kiwi x

stac14 · 18/08/2009 23:15

Thanks for the birthday wishes girlies

I knew there would be some irregular bleeding after the scan but its been nearly a fortnight now. Does anyone know if I should be taking clomid?

clairebear Do you pay for hsg? My cons hasn't offered me anything as I already have a son, he also didnt advise that I would be able to pay for jabs or meds, can you give me info?

paddington what you got planned for your bday?

Hey kiwi whats been happening with you?

clure do you live near the beach? ds went back to school yesterday so I am back to boring housework lol

clairebear88 · 19/08/2009 15:00

Hi

Stac - getting confused with HSG (xray with dye for tubes ) and HCG ( injection given to release eggs )
HSG - I had all my tests done on NHS so free and my HCG injections just cost me the prescription charge ( £7.20 ). My clomid costs me the same for 6 months.
I live in Essex so not sure if it differs around the country

I just hope after next month when clomid finishes I dont have to hang around for an app as ill be 33 in March and still no DC. I never dreamt it would be this hard.

xx

peju25 · 19/08/2009 17:48

hi all - dont know if you remeber me was on here a while back then couldnt get my comp to load this thread for ages!!
been ttc 2yrs+ took the clomid and bfn. Been off clomid for 3 months now.
came back to this thread as know you guys know how it is with these sorts of problems!!
Have PCOS. just decided rather than go back to docs to see if anything just happens!!
Well im on cd 49 today longest ever cycle did a test on cd44 and BFN.
Guess ive still got the tiniest bit of hope but too scared to take another test in case of another BFN am guessing it poss a missed cycle although never missed before.
to top it all the girl i sahre a room with told me she is pg 2 days ago so quietly left the room and cried!
sorry to rant but guess you got to let it out somewhere!
Do you think tere is still a chance for me??? dont know if it maes difference but hae been using cheapie tests.
did have bad period pain a week ago but still nothing and now all i have are heavy boobs and feeling bit queasy but this could be impending af??

Paddington - i have heard that you should ask docs advice on this one they may give you something to start you.

peju25 · 19/08/2009 17:51

paddington - ok i see i didnt catch up and read last page!!! hope you get some good news!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 19/08/2009 18:45

peju

Fellow PCOSer here.

I would not be retesting at all in your circs as cycles persistently over 35 days in length are more often than not anovulatory. If a test was negative on day 44 then there is a high chance that it will be negative again. Seeing repeated negatives as well can be soul destroying as I can attest.

You say you had clomid and it was unsuccessful - have you had any further treatment since?. I would seriously consider going back to the gynae if you were being treated by such a person beforehand. If you were not I would request a referral to such a person asap.

Hi clairebear thanks chick i did mean the hcg lol but still dont think i will get it as already have ds and he says everything else requires monitoring which the nhs wont supply so I am hoping that losing weight, metformin and clomid will work for me

xxx

KiwiKat · 19/08/2009 21:29

Hi all, had a meeting with a nurse to talk about beginning ivf - it seems to have happened very quickly, and dh and I are both reeling a bit. We're just at the beginning of the tww of clomid cycle 4, for which we have high hopes, as we've been taking vitamins and I've been having acupuncture. At least we have two more cycles before the ivf begins.

How's everyone else?

paddington21 · 20/08/2009 09:59

hi all, good news kiwikat, least things are starting to happen. are you doing ivf privately if you dont mind me asking?

hey stac, had lovely bday thanks didnt do too much but out tonight with the girls woop! i have however just discovered its a level results today so i think i will be drinking surrounded by 18 yr old's- oh how to feel old when i go home quite merry at half 10!

the doc said wait until monday if no period and no bfp- i have to do a test, i will not be happy about that!
then provera then up to 150mg for 5 days.

clure was it yourself who said about missing a day and getting bigger follicles? i get a follicle scan next month woop!

having a slob day with dp today making jam

xx

Clure · 20/08/2009 17:47

hi paddington - no sorry it wasn't me who said about mising a day and getting bigger follicles - I haven't been offered any monitoring at all!

hope everyone else well?

KiwiKat · 20/08/2009 22:56

Happy birthday Paddington! You show those young 'uns how to party!

Yep, paying for ivf ourselves, just one more incentive to get there naturally, if we can.

stac14 · 20/08/2009 23:37

Hey kiwikat has your cons offered you the egg sharing program? Mine said if I share my eggs I would get ivf for £700 may be worth looking into if you have to go down the root, but I'm with you naturally is way better

Hey clure hows you been?

paddington you may get bfp hun, fingers crossed

hope everyone else is well xx

paddington21 · 21/08/2009 10:23

hey, sorry clure... whoever did say that could let themselves known.

kiwikat- I would go privately as well when it comes to it- i have a funny feeling it will. Fingers crossed for the natural way!

i did try to show those young'uns until at ten dp's car blew up on a motorway. no nice wkend away for us now and no car living in a village so isolated that where public transport is some far away fantasy! sorry am quite grumpy.
Also why oh why when your out and meant to be having fun does the wicked witch choose this very time to pop by? AF is truly here only a week late so getting on the clomid tonight. it would explain my mooods agression and crying though.

here we go again ladies!

hope everyone else is ok sorry for massive rant i have no one in rl to rant to!

stac14 · 21/08/2009 14:19

{{hugs}} paddington back on the train hun, hope your ok.

My af has been here for 2 weeks now, still dont know if i should have took the clomid, got my gp on monday to find out were my metformin is, so hopefully by teatime monday I should be on that

Hows everyone else today? xx
