clure - im going to leave the tests in the draw for time being - going to try and hold out until next thursday - will just hope no af shows up! Hope your back heals up!

Lissielou - if it were me i would go for it - ok chance of a multiple pregnancy but its true there is no guarantee they will all fertalise.

amelied · 27/05/2009 17:22

Thanks Clure - I could cheerfully eat my desk at the moment... .

Sorry to hear of the "bag of sand" incident, take it easy

OracleInaCoracle · 27/05/2009 17:23

thats the point i made. even if the tubeless eggs travel theres no guarantee that they would fertilize.

clure sounds v painful. rest as much as poss.

peju, leave testing for as long as possible!

stac14 · 27/05/2009 18:31

Hey clure poor you with muscle strain, I am due CD 21 bloods tomorrow so keeping fingers crossed I have ovd again this month at least means we are moving in the right direction

Hi hope my bloods were all very low indicating no ovulation, I was then put on clomid unfortunately for me it took till 3rd cycle of clomid before I ov'd, do you have pcos?

amelied well done on the will power to do that diet I am not that good lol I am just sticking with a low fat/cal diet but not denying to many treats, I agree its a great cause

lisielou I would be so tempted to go for it, its so hard for us already to be told not to do it when theres a chance you could fall.

xxx

AttilaTheMeerkat · 27/05/2009 18:51

lissielou

Would also go for it.

Clure

Mega ow!!. Hope your back gets better soon.

Hope

GP can and should refer you to a gynae for further evaluation and diagnosis (you need that first and foremost). With a level of 2 its likely that your LH and FSH levels are well out of sync as well. A day 3 test can be done to determine this. If LH is higher than FSH this is one possible indicator of PCOS. If periods are irregular as well the test can be done according to calendar days.

Attila

OracleInaCoracle · 27/05/2009 21:16

thanks all. the more i think about it the more convinced I am that this is our best chance. for the last 18m most of my ovarian activity has been on my tubeless side, so 2 good eggs on my good side and nice thick lining seems like a good omen to me!

paddington21 · 27/05/2009 21:21

Hi all all over the show today!
lissielou if it was me i would go for it!
hope my first results were low but then after i ovulated on clomid it was 92 and i didnt take all my 50mg dose. So do not be disheartened. I would ask for provera to bring period on.. i am very impatient though and dont like waiting- i didnt have a period for 7 months though.

Hey stac ooh the twoweekwait website sounds like a bad idea for me but hey you know im going to take a look! Will have a look on ask jeeves too and let you know.

Hope everyone is doing ok we need a bfp soon!

hope and dust x x

pinkypanther · 27/05/2009 21:55

lissielou - I would go for it too! My Consultant said she had never seen a set of Clomid triplets (or higher) in 10 years...

Finished my Clomid today - still no side effects. In the absence of medical monitoring I have now started charting to watch for the temperature spike - to see if it worked. Fingers crossed!

KiwiKat · 27/05/2009 22:43

Not that I can talk - but Lissielou, I say Go for it! too.

Really interested Amelied that you're talking about losing weight - I was a good stone lighter when I conceived ds, (and four years younger, but who's counting) and I wondered how much of an impact that would have on my conception rate? I'm certainly not obese, but I'm also considerably heftier than I would like. Anyone know of any info/stats about this? Have knocked the drinking on the head completely to help this ttc thing along, so maybe I have to be just that much more committed and start to lose a few pounds as well.

Hmmm ...

Clure · 28/05/2009 08:36

Kiwikat The weight thing is interesting. I'm about half a stone lighter than when I conceived DD and a whole lot fitter. In one respect being fitter is good, but i do worry that I may be over doing the exercise even though my consultant was non commital on that subject. I think if you're not lots overweight then there's certainly no harm in tweaking your eating to become more healthy - that can't hurt!

My back is so much better this morning, last night had a soak in hot bath, and went to bed with heat patches on. So relieved, its amazing how much a few pulled muscles can stop you doing so much!
On day 3 of clomid. Haven't had any side effects though I'm constantly thinking everything could be!
Even my strained back!!
Hope the rest of you ladies are well, I'm enjoying half term at the moment. Looks like rain again!

amelied · 28/05/2009 09:13

Morning KiwiKat

I was reading Zita West's book and there is a section on weight. She says that even taking 10% of your body weight off can make a huge difference to your fertility. I am looking to take 25% off as I am a bit "upholstered" if you get my drift ...

Morning Clure glad to hear your back is getting better - lots of hot baths and my DH swears by heat patches.

Well today is weigh in day, I have been on the scales and there has been a good loss (will be water) although not sure how much as my scales and the CDC's scales were different so I will have to learn some patience and see how I get on at 7pm tonight. I do feel different, but dont see much difference in my clothes. It is a strict diet but hopefully, there is a brilliant goal at the end of it!

Happy Thursday everyone...

Clure · 28/05/2009 09:18

amelie well done you. Keep it up xx

amelied · 28/05/2009 09:49

Thanks Clure - May need you all to tell me to step away from the sticky buns now and again!!

amelied · 28/05/2009 14:21

It's quiet on here today...

amelied · 28/05/2009 19:34

9.5lbs loss - WooHoo

Clure · 28/05/2009 20:49

Blimey thats brilliant

KiwiKat · 28/05/2009 21:59

Amelied, that's fantastic - well done! You have inspired me, and I'm now going to have a second cup of tea instead of a little smackerel of something. Clure, glad you're feeling better, too. Pinkypanther, how are you doing, post-clomid?

KiwiKat · 28/05/2009 21:59

well done amelied thats a fantastic weight loss xxx

amelied · 28/05/2009 22:19

Thanks Girls - it is a disciplined diet, and I'm rubbish at sticking to these things but it is only for 10 weeks and I owe it to myself to help myself and (Please God) a future baby.

Nite x

pinkypanther · 29/05/2009 08:31

amelied that is amazing - well done!

Kiwikat, I am fine thanks, no side effects to speak of apart from maybe being a bit bloated. I don't think it is working yet as I normally get a distinctive pain in my side when I ovulate, and I haven't had that yet. Probably a bit too early. Have warned DH that his part in all this starts this weekend

Peju25 any news from you?

OracleInaCoracle · 29/05/2009 08:40

morning ladies, how are we today?

weve all been ill here. ds threw up at my dads house on weds evening. i was up sick from 1am-7am and then dh was ill from 10am+ (of course he was much iller than us) so only managed 1 romp (CD10) since the scan. however, CD12 today so havent missed the boat. just a shame that we are both still peaky!

peju25 · 29/05/2009 09:46

Morning all - well im still not testing going to leave it until next thursday, think af will arrive before then as been having af cramps all day yesterday and again this am - back to the docs for me i think - but i have got a nice holiday in the sun to look forward to first!!

mummycat1 · 29/05/2009 20:36

Hello all just popping by. I have been looking on here now and again so haven't disappeared completley! Was very excited that Clure finally got her AF!! Good luck to you.

I got my AF again . It came yesterday and was a day late so of course I tested and got BFN. Feel a bit rough. AF has nasty symptoms! Also woke in the night with an overwhelming feeling of anxiety about never conceiving. This is now cycle 6 of Clomid for me. I'm CD2. They have given me enough Clo to do 8 cycles. I'm wondering if we are missing something. I always respond well. Always have two or three eggs ready to go. Always have the HCG injection and then BD loads at the right time and in the right position and always have very strong Cd21 bloods and then never conceive.

I had some success with Robitussin last month and have started to take it again today. We have also been having lots of fun in the bedroom and getting each other wound up. Have borrowed the Karma Sutra from the library for this month! So at least my sex life is positive

Last time I was at the FC the nurse questioned whether or not I actually have PCOS as she said the way I was responding suggested that I don't and the lap didn't spot any abnormalities. So maybe my original diagnosis was just an easy way for them to explain my problem back in 2005?

We spent yesterday eve checking the HEFA site and finding out about IVF. Turns out that one of the best FCs in the country is on my doorstep. Which is lucky for us. NHS here are also good. So looks like we'll be taking a hefty loan out in a few months time... Just need to check out waiting lists now.

Lots of baby dust to all of you *

MamaMaiasaura · 29/05/2009 22:32

Stac & attila - thanks for advice re doseage. Have taken 150 cd2 & 3 and cd 4 & %(today) taken 200mg. No bad side effects noted yet. Fingers crossed this gives boy the kick start it needs.

lissielou - ditto on the 'go for it' sorry that you've been all 'peaky' though

Clure - Hey cycle buddy, ouch on the back strain how are you finding the clomid?

amelied - fab on the wight loss. THat is a really good amount. I think weight does have an effect and i should lose a bit i reckon.

Good friend had her baby delivered by section (breach) couple of days ago and he is on a heart monitor and will need op, but what exactly is a wait and see His mum is being amazing and very strong. They are in different hospitals but hopefully she'll be with him from tomorrow. Cried so much for her and him. Her dh is being a completel rock and looking after their dd1.
