Hi everyone. I am starting up a new thread since our old one was reaching the 1000 post limit.

Here is a link to the old thread.

haha - not really no. really thought I might have been this month. makes it even worse when I know 10 people who have gotten pregnant in the last year either by accident or with minimal effort. final dose of clomid when AF does turn up, and we can't afford IVF.

stac14 · 18/05/2009 14:16

Hey lucyg
Won't they offer you any other treatment? There is letrozole which is like clomid but without the side effects, or what about trigger shots, surely they can offer you more assistance rather than going straight to IVF. xxx

lucygrif · 18/05/2009 14:21

will say what they suggest on 29th but we asked them before and she said that they had to leave us to it after this, that there's nothing else they can do for us

Clure · 18/05/2009 18:38

lucygrif so sorry, its so pants. Hope you have a more successful chat with your fertility consultant, hopefully there's other sorts of interventions they can offer you.

Hi stac still waiting for AF. I finished provera on Saturday. Have been feeling a bit "pre-menstrual" in that I feel every little thing annoys me and also feeling a tiny bit crampy. We shall see!

hope the rest of you ladies are ok. x

MamaMaiasaura · 18/05/2009 21:44

Had the scan today and discovered that there were four eggs there ready for release, so they've said no bd this month, and they will halve the dose of clomid for next month. At least I'm producing eggs, I guess, but who knows what quality they are.

Lucygrif, it's an awful feeling when you've somehow convinced yourself that This Is It - sorry you're feeling so low.

amelied · 19/05/2009 08:55

Morning Kiwikat - are you not sorely tempted - I would be I mean not all four would fertilize (fingers crossed) but a set of twins would be lovely .

My hospital doesnt do the scans just a 21day blood test - would love to know what Im growing in there.

Not on Clomid this month (would have been round#4) as I was scheduled for an internal investigation scan (the one with the camera - name escapes me!) so did what they told me, not to take Clomid and then find out that they are not doing it until the end of July!!!! So that gives me 2 months naturally (if you like).

And the rollercoaster goes round again...

stac14 · 19/05/2009 10:28

Hey awen
I was a bitch at first but it calmed down after I had took it for a couple of months, but I changed from norethisterone to provera so maybe you need a change.

kiwikat I would be so tempted too, even though I dont want twins, triplets etc lol but I suppose you have to go with what you consultant says

amelied I'm the same as you only get cd 21 bloods, kind of glad though as some1 I know got scans then didn't ov even though folicles were there so think it can go both ways

How are the rest of you ladies? xxx

lucygrif · 19/05/2009 11:39

CD33 and still no AF. Will resist testing a second time until Thursday. Have had horrendously sore boobs since last Sun/Mon and seem to be easing off a bit now. Have also had some cramping etc and after the BFN yesterday I am thinking AF must be on its way. Strange how your body clock gets messed up. Am normally 30 days bang on but on my month off from Clomid I was 8 days late.

KiwiKat · 19/05/2009 13:24

I am sorely tempted indeed, Amelied and Stac. DH and I discussed it at length this morning - he thinks we should go for it. I wouldn't mind twins at all, in fact would welcome it with open arms, as I'm 43 and time is a-snapping at my heels. Not keen on having 3 or 4 babies at once, though. DS, nearly three, would be left out in the cold somewhat, no matter how I tried for this not to happen.

My grandmother had twin boys (one of which was my dad), then 18 months later, a second set, meaning she had four boys under the age of two. To this day, I am humbled by her juggling ability.

How irresponsible would it make me if I just went for it?

amelied · 19/05/2009 14:15

Kiwikat Hell, I would go for it but that's me. My father is a twin but sadly it hasnt happened for me.

I would love a set of twins, then DH in for snip, job done!!

lucygrif · 19/05/2009 14:20

go for it kiwikat!! x

amelied · 19/05/2009 16:42

gone quiet on here. Maybe Kiwikat is busy ...

lucygrif · 19/05/2009 16:59

AF has arrived, can't believe it. Even with the BFN yesterday I still thought I might be. Oh well, more practising!!

amelied · 19/05/2009 17:04

Hi Lucygrif sorry to hear that you are out. At least you have the answer now and look ahead to next month...

I was convinced last week too and even took a test on the monring of Day 28.

Eat lots of chocolate - thats my perscription

OracleInaCoracle · 19/05/2009 18:00

hi, can i jin please? have 1 ds and have been ttc#2 for 3.5 years. had several mc's and 1 ep but saw cons yesterday and he's started me on clomid from today 100mg CD2-6 and scan next weds!

Clure · 19/05/2009 19:47

Hi

kiwikat my friend was in a similar position to you, she went for it and an early pg scan revealed twins but she lost one of them, this was still very early on in the pregnancy. Think I'd be cautious but tempted.

Awen I've been really short fused and hot flushy on provera. I finished it on Saturday and waiting now. My last lot of provera didn't work and so consultant trebled the dose. What dose are you taking?

stac how long after finishing provera did your AF come (sorry probably asked you that zillion times - memory of goldfish)

hello rest of you ladies

Alfiemax · 19/05/2009 20:30

Evening Ladies,

I am still having trouble getting on mumsnet. It's doing my head in as by the time I get on here there's loads to catch up on. I get it in the address bar then it just sits there loading but never comes up

BeanieB congrats hunni. Have a happy healthy pregnancy and make sure you keep us up to date. Don't worry about falling first month, it's what we all hope for and I'm sure no-one feels that you have been lucky. As like all of us you were prescribed it for a reason and that's just as deserving.

Lucygrif sorry af got you ((((HUGS)))) for you. I sympathise with how the docs are being with you. I was basically told that it's 6 months of clomid then IVF, no other options. I have an appointment next Friday and I am going to stress to them about my short luteal phase because I know there are other things they could do for me. Good Luck for this cycle hun and tons of BabyDust.

Hello to everyone else, I hope you are all well, and the clomid is being good to you.

Clure I really hope your af comes now as you must be sooooo frustrated, I can't even begin to imagine. Awen the same to you also. Good Luck to you both.

Kiwikit I would deffo go for it. You never know, and I think most of the time the docs are trying to scare monger anyway. Get busy in the bedroom lol. Send you loads of egg vibes.

As for me, well CD26. Af should have been here yesterday, but seem to be having another longer cycle again. Last month I got to CD28, with no help from clomid. So not getting my hopes up again as I was sorely dissapointed last cycle. It was the most I'd got my hopes up for a long time. I don't feel any different apart from the lack of sore boobs. normallt from ov to day after af starts they are agony. But only just started to get tender today, and thats with a bit of prodding (probably why they are tender).

Hoping to be able to get on here more bloody often. Not sure why I have so many problems with this website.

clairebear88 · 19/05/2009 20:30

hi

sorry your out Lucygrif, try to stay positive.
Kiwikit - just go for it, i know its a little irresponsible in the hospitals eyes but just think if you hadnt been going through all this you would never know how many eggs were in there so would be going for it anyways. Good luck

My mate has just told me she is gonna start trying for dc #4 with her new partner ( of 6months ) and I bet she falls straight away. It has really enraged me for some reason, there has been loads of other friends but they have not bothered me as much as this. AArrrggghhhh.
I promise to cheer up x

fruitbowl · 19/05/2009 21:20

Hi everyone

Wondering if KiwiKat is doing it (childish sniggering )

LucyG - god it's so awful to come back to earth with a bang when you've convinced yourself this is THE month. So sorry. Hope you find a way to move forward after your appointment.

Hi LissieLou (waves) and welcome. Good luck with the first round (ding ding)

Hi to everyone else x

KiwiKat · 19/05/2009 22:29

Oi, you cheeky fruitbowl, I'm certainly not doing it! Although I've just told DH of your responses, and he's taking off his jumper rather hopefully as we speak ...

All of today I was thinking whether we should go for it or not, and do you know what I decided I'd do? Whatever you lot suggested. Which is not exactly rational, is it? I mean, how do you explain to the doctor how you're pg with 4 babies, when they explicitly told me not to try? A group of women I chat to on the interweb, but have never met, told me to go for it.

Makes me sound clever ...

fruitbowl · 19/05/2009 23:05

Best get to bed then!

stac14 · 20/05/2009 11:13

kiwikat I agree with Clairebear I dont get scanned so I will never know if 4 eggs are on the loose so to speak lol and you never know it may be your lucky month, tell the clinic it was an accident lol, your on the same CD as me and I think I am oving at the mo, but then I took my clomid later this month

clure I dont want to dishearten you but it took 12 days for me to come on, was starting to get very hopeful lol

awen has the she devil calmed down any?? I've had the clomid slump for the past couple of days think its starting to lift though

alfiemax hopefully there is no af at all, have you tried contactimg mumsnet to ask why you cant get on?

Welcome lissielou you will like it on here, as you can see we're all quite open and honest

amelied · 20/05/2009 12:08

Well Kiwikat was there candles, moonlight and Barry White on the cd ...

Lol at your husband starting to take off his jumper !

OracleInaCoracle · 20/05/2009 13:14

thanks for the welcome, only just scanned thread but kiwicat i think you should just do it. you are not answerable to the docs, and shouldn't have to explain!!

is it normal to feel the side affects on the second day? ive got a stinking headache and feel v bloated and tearful. dont know if its my period though.
