Well done Stac14 - you must be chuffed to bits - when do you think you will be able to test??

Mize · 07/05/2009 19:22

Hi ladies
On the issue of "unexplained " infertility - I have a very dear friend whose wife was having a very hard time conceiving. They did all the tests - she was ovulating and his sprm count was fine. After many many tests, they found out that her body - birth canal - not sure what to call it - was actually toxic to his sperm. They were dying before they could get to the uterus. I'm really not sure of all the details, but basically they had a procedure where his sperm was deposited directly into her uterus. They are now expecting their 2 nd child this summer - this is their second time using the procedure to get a BFP
Just wondering if either of you ladies with the " unexplained" diagnosis had heard of this before ?

I conceived DS on Clomid - just here to see how others are faring with it and scatter some baby dust !! Good luck ladies !!

beanieb · 07/05/2009 21:21

congrats stac14 How long have you been on clomid?

amelied I have had an HSG and apparently no blockages but someone else has suggested I should push for more investigation.

Mize I have wondered if this is what I have. My GP suggested they might do a post coital test to see if I am fighting off my OH's sperm so maybe I should push for that too? I am guessing the procedure your friend's wife had was IUI?

stac14 · 07/05/2009 21:57

Hi beanieb I have been on clomid for 3 cycles, first was 50mg then it was upped to 100mg for the last 2 cycles, didnt ov last time but did this time. Begining to think it takes a while to get into sme peoples systems where as with others it happens right away. I have pcos so don't ovulate or very rarely ovulate on my own. If I were you I would definately push for the tests on offer, they can't say unexplained infertility unless they have ruled out all options. xxx

amelied If my cycle is 28 days then I am due on next wednesday, DP got so excited about the oving he wanted me to test today but it is way too soon and I dont want to get my hopes up. How are you coping with the 2ww?xxx

lisylou Has the news sunk in for you yet? You mentioned before you will have a c-section hope you dont think I am being nosey but how come? xxx

Clure · 07/05/2009 22:15

stac thats brilliant news. Fingers crossed for you

amelied · 08/05/2009 09:32

Hi Stac14

In the past the 2ww was a nightmare and looking back I was wishing my life away.

Now I have set myself a list of projects/tasks for that particular time and I find it goes by quicker.

Have you got a shiny clearblue digital for next Wednesday on standby??

stac14 · 08/05/2009 12:45

Hi amelied I do have a stash of pregnancy tests but I have a bit of spotting today so dont know if af is here early or if I am having implant bleed. Af has been all over the place for so long I dont know whether I am coming or going lol Are you set for testing? When can you?

Thanks clure any news from the consultant? It was a lovely surprise to be told I had ov'd. How are you?

Think af is here already but at least I ov'd yay lol but its very light so will let you know later xxx

stac14 · 08/05/2009 13:11

Hey ladies, its defo AF, how can you go from a high to a low in quick succession, wow ttc is s**t soz for language xxx

amelied · 08/05/2009 13:36

Hi Stac14 - sorry you have started early; yep I've been there short months, long months! Why is this process so fecking easy for other people???

Have my packet of two Clearblue digital awaiting for next Thursday although on saying that the unwrapping of the cellophane on the box is enough for AF to arrive!!

cynical - moi??

stac14 · 08/05/2009 13:59

Hey amelied feel better now, still not a significant bleed and I have no cramps which is unusual for me but I think its here, call it womans intuition lol, so will see how it goes then its back on clomid tomorrow night
I think we drive ourselves mad with the waiting and hoping then the sight of af we're off and greeting lol as the others have said CD1 is the worst day

so sorry stac, its a pain in the whatsits - this ttc business. I have finally managed to speak to consultants secretary who was a bit shirty with me (had written another email) anyway, she said consultant had written some notes but was out of the office. She read that he'd put that I take the provera three times a day (?!) but she needed to check that it was 10mg. I gave my mobile number as I was taking DD out today. Needless to say she hasn't got back to me

I have GP appointment monday (for a numb finger!!) but I was going to use it to chat to him if I got no joy with consultant. Another weekend of being in limbo

Hello to the rest of you xx

stac14 · 08/05/2009 19:40

Hi Clure, the last time I was to take provera it was 10mg twice a day but the norethisterone was 3 times perday at 10mg so maybe you just need the higher progesterone in take. The secretary shoudlnt be being nippy considering you have been practically ignored for 3 weeks. Ask your GP they may be able to help or they may get a better response from the consultant on your behalf

tetleytea · 09/05/2009 08:34

Hi all!

feeling a bit overwhelmed today...went to gynae for an internal scan yesterday and she said i have a big fat follicle...said the best thing was to give me a shot of gonadotrophin (is it hgc?) so that i'd ov 36 hours later....ie tonight! So now i've got dp with a day of work commitments plus 2 birthday do's tonight for him plus my parents arriving this afternoon to stay....aaaurgh! Have to attempt to grab dp at lunchtime ...hope i can dd to sleep at the right time...feeling v stressed!

AND to complete the picture i get the news that my dearly beloved ex and wife have just had 2nd baby...i bawled my eyes out in the bathroom, feeling really emotional...

boo1981 · 09/05/2009 10:02

hi every1 hope ur all ok? im on cd 15 now. i've been doin my temp and it dipped a few days ago, but have also been usin ovulation sticks as they were with the thermometer. the sticks haven't showed i've ovulated yet. but there is a faint line so it's looks as thou according 2 the ovulation sticks that i will ovulate 2morrow but my temp already dropped 2 days ago!!!! im a bit confused. i have pcos but do normally ovulate on my own.

beanieb hi im on clomid but do normally ovulate on my own. im on 50mg this is my 2nd month. but my dh has low count and low motility. i think my fc put me on it as we can't afford ivf and this is our last hope. how r u?

tetleytea hi it's so unfair isn't it my ex who i have a dd with has had another dd recently and it upset me as i so want another. hope ur ok?

baby dust 2 every1

how is every1 else? xxxx

beanieb · 09/05/2009 10:20

Hi Boo I am ok. Tested this morning. I am on CD 27 and usually have a 26 day cycle. Clearblue Digital said 'not pregnant' so I am guessing my period is on the way soon, maybe slightly delayed by the Clomid?

tetleytea sorry to hear you're down, it sucks doesn't it. Am pretty sure members of my family will be pushing another one out in the next couple of years.

Worked out today that if I don't get pregnant next month then I will be 40 having my first child if I manage to ever get pregnant

Clure · 09/05/2009 13:59

beanieb if I do manage to get pg, I will be 42! Its a frustrating enough time even when your clock isn't ticking loudly. (hug)

hug also for your tetley and boo what a rollercoaster this is

I've just had a nice relaxing couple of hours at the hairdressers, so feeling a bit more chilled.
Hoping the rest of you ladies are having a good weekend xx

beanieb · 10/05/2009 11:00

Hiya all, my period is now 2 days late. I tested yesterday and got a negative. Can anyone tell me how likely it is that my period would be delayed on 50mg of Clomid (First month) as I just want it to come now. Am pretty sure there is no chance that I am pregnant as it would be showing by now surely?

tetleytea · 10/05/2009 11:13

Hi beanieb - i think anything's possible, really. Clomid might or might not affect the length of your cycle. Are you normally bang on time with AF?

It's like a west end farce here today. Managed to do the deed yesterday lunchtime, miraculously. Was "supposed" to ov last night, according to the gynae, but this morning temp still down and can still feel loads of pressure around my ovary. So pretty sure i haven't ov'd! Dammit!
After all this clomid, injection etc am determined to give it my best shot this month...but how?..parents here to stay & in the kitchen drinking coffee, we live on one floor flat so impossible to sneak off, 2 yr old dd running around, no lock on the bathroom door (never a problem till we have visitors, then we remember we've done nothing about it)....

!!

KiwiKat · 10/05/2009 11:20

Hello everyone, can I join the group? I've been talking to Tetley, Beanie and Fruitbowl on a TTC thread, and they recommended that I come on here, as I just started clomid yesterday. I'm CD3, ttc#2. All a bit scary really, but it sounds like there are plenty of people here who can answer my questions, which is reassuring.
