Oh, and sky, thank you for making the list!

ImmaterialGirl I took a test on CD 30 and got a bfn. Was thinking about testing again this weekend but I may not because I really don't think I am pregnant and would hate to waste a test. I was on the pill for about six years but had irregular periods before then so who knows what will happen now.

aly323 · 08/08/2009 01:34

Thanks all for the friendly welcome!

The testing thing is crazy. I had no idea how addictive it would be. It's amazing how much they can charge for sticks and monitors (not to mention treatments, etc.). I never thought I would jump in so quickly, but here I am in the first month with a cabinet full of dollar store OPKs and HPTs. I flew through the expensive ones I started with, so I figured I had better start using the cheapies. My plan is to use the money I save for a sushi dinner and a fun treat to cheer myself up if AF comes.

Just wondering if any of you long term pill users have had AF come and stay regular right away. I was on ortho for 12 years, depo before that for a few months, and Norplant for 5 years even earlier. I hope the many years of "responsibility" don't come back to bite me in the butt.

CurlyCasper- It'll be great to have a cycle buddy! I'm hoping to wait until the 19th to test (DH's b-day) but I doubt I'll be able to hold out that long...

aly323 · 08/08/2009 01:47

CurlyCasper- shoot, I just realized that you won't be TTC until next month! The wait must be driving you nuts. However, it'll be so helpful that you've had this time to really get to know your cycle.

ImmaterialGirl and Fulhamgirl- It looks like we all went off the pill about the same time. I've had 2 AF's, but that only gives me one full cycle from which to guess my UCL. That one was 30 days. I also went 35 days from going off mid pill pack to my first AF. I'm hoping it stays pretty much the way it is.

Here are my stats- TTC#1 UCL 30? CD 21 DPO 2

CurlyCasper · 08/08/2009 06:25

aly hmm, suppose there's not a great deal of point in having a cycle buddy when your cycle will soon be irrelevant for 9 months! But good luck, when I get AF, I hope you're getting a BFP.

Getting a bit frustrated. We agreed to try in June, had to be three months of meds, that made it late September. Then my cycle meant it would actually be early October. Now, if I have to have the rubella vaccine (find out weds) it will be early Nov, to allow that out of my system. The summer baby I hoped for is moving increasingly towards the autumn... Of course, there's not guarantee I'll catch on straight away anyway...

Temp climbed again this morning - 4 days past ov - finally an obvious pattern! starting to think about other signs - such as skin breakout around ov. anyone else get this?

Ozziegirly · 08/08/2009 08:00

Welcome aly and good luck to you too.

Well DH was back from his business trip so I jumped on him this morning but I feel I may already be past ovulation this month. All good practise though...

I did have a spectacularly raunchy dream last night though which I wondered might have been caused by some hormone surge (or maybe just by having DH back)......

Ozzie, congrats on DH's return, I'm sure he appreciated the welcome! Who knows, it often seems as though it's the BD that people least expect to work that actually takes. Congrats also on the raunchy dream. I love those, but have never timed mine out to see where they fall in my cycle. That would be an interesting research project!

My dream last night was crazy. My mom, who died a few years ago at 52, was pregnant (and still alive in the dream). She had a big healthy girl baby and sent her to live with her ex-husband's new wife and daughter. I asked her why she didn't stay with us since I could take care of her and my mom said, "oh she will later." I remember feeling mixed since 1.I really wanted my own baby and 2. She had named the baby something that sounded like Armani. I'm sure a therapist would have plenty to say about that dream!

CurlyCasper, although this month is a possible for BFP, it's also just as possible I'll sill be at it when you start. I'm sorry the timing keeps getting pushed back. Has it been difficult without the meds? I asked the midwife about MMR vaccinations. She said I'm good with what I've had. I know I had it once in grade school, but I may have had it again later due to lost records. Funny, as much as I hate shots, you would think I would remember.

ImmaterialGirl · 09/08/2009 18:38

Evening girls,

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

aly and ozzie argh, another potential symptom to think about, weird dreams? I had a really vivid dream last night that I was in a plane that had to do an emergency landing on the highway. (Everyone was fine in the end). And I hardly ever remember or have strong dreams...

Although I probably shouldn't be symptom spotting, as on CD15 and not sure if I've even ov'd yet
We've BD'd every day for the past five days and will probably go another five before I give him a night off

ImmaterialGirl · 09/08/2009 18:39

Does anyone have info on luteal phases? Help

aly323 · 10/08/2009 00:17

sky27, I don't know if this is helpful, but I've been reading up on them quite a bit. There is a lot of info online. The info varies, but it appears that anything over 10 is generally ok. 12 and up is better. It seems that I have a short LP. It runs somewhere between 9 and 11 days (I'm not certain since I just started out). I've read that although 9 is short, many people still manage to implant and carry ok. Issues arise if the luteal phase is too short and the fertilized egg doesn't have adequate time o implant.

I've supplemented with b6 vitamins, but am only taking 50mg (I've read that you can do 50-200extra. This is supposed to help lengthen the luteal phase. Another option that appears online a lot is progesterone cream, which can be purchased in any pharmacy. I'm personally reluctant to start messing too much with hormones without checking with my doctor. The midwife okayed the B6 and was clueless about the cream. It seems there are many other options your doctor may wish to pursue if your LP is too short.

I hope this may have helped a little.

ImmaterialGirl · 11/08/2009 11:29

sevans! I know we're all nagging you, but did you test?

fulhamgirl hmmm, sounds a bit early to come on, could it be ovulation that you're feeling? I'd make sure I BD tonight if I were you just in case!

I have no idea if ovulation can feel like period pains though? I've never really paid much attention to what's going on in my body before, and now I'm registering ever little twitch thinking 'oh, wonder what that means!!?'

fulhamgirl · 11/08/2009 12:31

ImmaterialGirl! I know what what you mean im the same thinking what could this mean lol!! The pains are werid though as if they are

I will do its his lucky night lol ;)!!

Your around the same cycle as me im really excited for everyone as we are all nearly there.

Sorry guys are we all on cycle one? Its this the first month everyone is trying?

xxxxxxx

Trying4Baby1 · 11/08/2009 16:17

Hiya all, can you please add me to the list. I was on the pill for 6 years and my first AF appeared earlier than I would have expected. I suppose it depends what kind of pill you were on and how regular you were before you went on the pill. Hi fulhamgirl I'm not on cycle 1 but hope it goes well for you! Good luck everyone!! Here's my stats
Trying4Baby1 TTC#1 Cycle 2 UCL? CD18

ImmaterialGirl · 11/08/2009 16:25

fulhamgirl your man is a lucky one tonight! I've been BDing every day for over a week, thinking I'll let him off for the night, but then I'm all 'what if it's tonight? Just one more!!'

And yes, getting more and more excited as we're getting there. Starting to see why everyone is going on about the 2 week wait being crazy though!

Also yep, I'm on Cycle 1, unless you count the time after I came off the pill before I got my first real period, where we weren't officially trying, but I certainly was thinking about it a lot...

Trying4Baby1 welcome! Yay for more first-timers! Hopefully we'll all get lucky this month and then we can move over to the pregnancy section together
