A new thread to follow on from Part 3 - AKA the lucky thread!

Lets get some more BFP's this month

ozzie defo feeling a bit about the BBT thing. mine shows big leaps day after day (36.5, 36.7, 37.2), and I'm (hopefully) at the end of cycle (CD31 and counting...)

But as you say, when you've got a full month or so down a pattern should be evident.

Jas Hope venting on the Facebook thread cheered you up. It had me splitting my sides.

I've just found out one of my best friends is trying as well (already started TTC for #2)

Hello all

It's interesting to read that both you Ozzie and Curly are finding ups and downs in your temps, nice that you can both compare what you find with each other

Hope you are beginning to feel a little better Jas How are things with you?

It's CD12 for me today, DH and I DTD this morning and I'm planning on instigating things over the next few days too

I'm going to try and not symptom spot during my 2WW this month not sure if I'll be able to manage that though

Ozziegirly · 15/07/2009 00:24

Temps still all over the place even though I am expecting ovulation any day now.

But also typically DH has had to go away on business until next Thursday which takes us out of action until then. I'm actually going to join him over the weekend but I think ovulation should have passed by then if it's going to happen at all as I am already CD13.

I'm writing off this month!

I have an exam in just over a week so I've been stressing about that as well. Hopefully next month I can just relax and something will happen.

FYI CC, my temps have been 35.83, 35.84, 36.27, 36.13, 35.89, 35.84, missed a day, 35.93 - so no discernable pattern in the slightest!

CurlyCasper · 15/07/2009 08:54

CITC Have fun and good luck with the sympton spotting abstenance

rimmer dont forget to get a few in before he goes, after all, those swimmers can survive a fair while and might lie in wait!

I finally got two days of the same temp 36.70 today. But CD 33 and still no AF.. Yours all seem around the upper 35/lower 36 mark. I know its supposed to be a small shift after ov, but perhaps yours will head into, say, the upper 36/lower 37 area? That's where I am and I should be post ovulation. we'll see....

They say temp is best to know if you have ovulated (goes up after - when it's too late for DTD) but CM is better for knowing when you are fertile. So combining the two should be a good indicator, assuming a regular cycle. which doesn't seem helpful for me at the mo!!!

xxx

Ozziegirly · 15/07/2009 09:14

THe problem is, I don't seem to have any CM at all. SO I wonder if I'm even ovulating. This is what I was hoping the BBTing would help me with.

Ah well.

This may be a TMI question, but I don't seem to get this "egg white" CM that people speak of, but I do seem to have a "dampness" in my underwear more on some days than others. Is this what I should be tracking?

claireinthecommunity · 15/07/2009 12:10

Ozzie, I have CM and EWCM when I wipe, yet some womens doesn't seem to pass down as freely, maybe you need to have a bit of a feel around down there

I've read on other threads that some women do this to check theirs, so it may not be that you aren't producing any, but just that it isn't passing down as I and others experience it. The 'dampness' you describe could well be your signal that things are getting 'wetter' in there

It's great to be able to talk about this stuff on here, I don't think I could with anyone in RL!

CurlyCasper · 15/07/2009 12:55

ozzie I have to agree with claire, you might have to look a bit further for the right result. I, too, have damper days - but haven't been at that stage yet since i started following all of this. I'm hoping/expecting those to be the EWCM days.

And don't worry about TMI - as claire says, you can say stuff on here that you wouldn't in RL

(Can you imagine walking up to MIL and asking what her CM pattern is like?!?)
x

Ozziegirly · 15/07/2009 15:03

Hmm, that's interesting, and very helpful - my friends and I are quite open at chatting about stuff but I haven't told anyone we are TTC and also I don't think I could ever discuss CM with them!!

I will start having a bit more of a rummage around.

Thanks guys!

sevans · 15/07/2009 15:47

Hello ladies. What a lovely thread. Do you mind if I join?

July is DH and my first month of TTC for baby #1. My last period started June 25 and I got off the pill and we started trying at the beginning of July. I guess my CD is 20. I would expect AF to come July 23 if I was still on the pill but who knows what will happen now that I am off of it. I get irregular periods without the pill and have PCOS so not even sure if I ovulated this month. I decided to do a test on Sunday the 26th if I don't get AF next Thursday.

I look forward to joining this thread!

CurlyCasper · 15/07/2009 17:05

ooh welcome aboard sevans and what a lovely discussion to join us at!

makingafamily · 15/07/2009 19:39

Hi Ladies

Just a quick quote as i lost this thread for a bit. Will be back later to catch up on everyones TTC news

claireinthecommunity · 15/07/2009 22:28

This made me lol curly: "(Can you imagine walking up to MIL and asking what her CM pattern is like?!?)"

ozzie hope you find something interesting in there!!!!!

Welcome sevans and good luck I'm currently on CD13 cycle 2 TTC baby no.1, learnt a lot about my cycle last month which was my first month off the pill. I'm generally charting my CM/EWCM, curly and ozzie are temping too, are you charting at all?

Welcome back makingafamily, how are things with you?

Haven't heard from Jas for a while, hope all is well with her.

JasHook · 16/07/2009 12:54

Jas has gone into hyper anxiety mode and has been told to keep away from the evils of the internet, especially search engines on the subject of "pregnancy and swine flu".

Sorry ladies - I'm a flake...

CurlyCasper · 16/07/2009 13:28

sorry Jas I fear your absence from MN might actually be healthy at the mo! As ever, happy thoughts are winging their way along the information superhighway.

welcome back MAF how's things?

Well, AF finally decided to make an appearance (I think - more of a poking her nose around the door and thinking about it at the mo...) and Harry Potter was bloomin brilliant last night! x

sevans · 16/07/2009 14:22

Thanks for the welcome!

claire - I am not charting but thinking about temping. Maybe I will pick up a thermometer this weekend.

I can't wait to see Harry Potter, curly!!

CurlyCasper · 16/07/2009 19:07

Bloomin eck, if I ever whinge about AF not coming again, send me a cyber slap. Absolute agony!

claireinthecommunity · 16/07/2009 20:29

Good to hear from you Jas, though sorry to hear you are feeling so anxious, I hope things improve for you soon

I guess becoming a parent brings with it it's own anxieties and worries concerning your child, born or unborn. Those feelings will of course be magnified when there is an epidemic/pandemic medical alert throughout the country.

I'm trying not to think too much about it, yet there have been some cases near to where I live.

Curly I feel for you, my first period after coming off the pill really knocked me for six, I'd forgotten what they used to be like. At least your cycles are getting back to normal

sevans and Curly, I can't join you in your excitement for HP, I've never read or watched it, what am I missing?

Trying4Baby1 · 17/07/2009 20:48

Hi there, just started TTC this month after being on the pill for over 6 years. Think I've missed my ovulation this time round but ever hopeful.

Just wondered if anyone can tell me exactly how early is it possible to test and get an accurate result? Don't think it's happened this time but hoping it does as don't fancy the nightmare periods I used to get before the pill, sorry TMI.

As for swine flu, I wouldn't worry too much about it at the moment. I work in pharmaceuticals and they're not too worried yet. It's a case of making sure your general health is good.

If you do get flu like symptoms then contact NHS24 or your doc, and they'll get anti virals to you if you need them. I wouldn't worry too much at the moment, they're more worried about the winter but will hopefully have a vacine produced by then but I don't know how safe it'll be in pregnancy.

There's quite a few cases in my area but you can't allow yourself to worry as that can affect your immune system.

Calyx · 20/07/2009 22:36

Hellooooooo - can I join in? I'm 37, DP (DH in less than a month!) is 42 and we are TTC for the first time. I came off the pill at end of June after over 10 years and started charting temps ooooh.... 2 days ago LOL! Haven't had AF round since stopping the pill so no idea what's happening but am feeling quite excited and happy about the whole thing. Good luck to everyone in the same boat!

Spirael · 21/07/2009 17:25

Hiya, I'm a new face as well. Though I've been ominously lurking around for a bit while I gathered the courage to post...

I'm 27, DH is (imminently) 28, and we're about to start TTC for the first time. I came off the pill about a year ago (not that I've been planning this for a while, you understand... ) and I'm pretty much on regular 28 day cycles now.

I expect the dubious pleasure of AF in the next 48 hour or so, and then once that mess is over and done with I guess it'll be a case of DTD and see what happens! Good luck to everyone else TTC too.

On a separate note, I saw the Harry Potter film at the end of last week, and it was pretty good. Better than the last one, I thought!

Ozziegirly · 23/07/2009 05:02

Welcome Trying4Baby1, Calyx and Spirael, and good luck with it all!

No news from me - just waiting for AF to arrive next week. Temping has continued to be all over the place, but I"m sticking with it to see what happens from the start of a cycle next month.

CurlyCasper · 24/07/2009 14:09

Hi all and welcome to all the newbies. Inexperienced one here, who hasn't started TTC yet.

Ozzie - I'm with you on the odd temps! Just when I started to see a pattern whoosh, up it goes right at the end of my period, when I'm clearly not ovulating/ed. here's hoping the CM pattern is clearer!

Starting to feel the burn of being off my meds now. Shoulders seriously aching, but I'm telling myself it will alll be worth it.

Have any of you stopped drinking before TTC? Or just when you might be PG? I'm off to a beer festival with DH and friends from this evening and not sure how to play it...

x

Spirael · 24/07/2009 17:01

I stopped drinking about a month ago, I've been taking folic acid already and I've been avoiding any meds (pain killers and such) like the plague. I figured I may as well make my body as clean as possible, to give any potential child the best possible start. Though I'm not sure how much it really counts for.

I guess I'm vaguely hoping it's worth something...because this months AF has been a nightmare! I could have really done with some pain killers and a few bottles of wine, to go with the chocolate and ice-cream I ended up eating yesterday!!!

sevans · 24/07/2009 20:01

Hope everyone is doing well!

AF should have arrived yesterday and still no sign. That doesn't mean I'm pregnant because this is my first month off the pill and I had irregular periods before the pill. I am planning on taking a test tomorrow morning if AF doesn't arrive between now and then.

Calyx · 25/07/2009 19:08

Hi all, hope your saturday is going well! I'm quite chuffed as AF arrived yesterday and I came off the pill at the end of June so I didn't have to wait for months and months like I was expecting to. Setting my alarm for 6.30am at the weekend and taking my temp (as that's the time I get up through the week) is a bit of a bugger but I enjoyed snuggling back down to sleep again!

Today I bought shoes for my wedding and put my dress in to be shortened, got gorgeous wee sparkly shoes for my niece and a lovely 2nd hand bag for my sister so it's been a great day, cramps and all!

Wedding in 3 weeks oooh maybe it'll be a wedding night or honeymoon conception... how cool would that be!

sevans did AF reach you yet? Are we cycle buddies?
