Well trigger I didn't like to say....

skihorse · 05/06/2009 12:43

trigger more to the point - how does he know? If you have a child I would suggest that trips to the park to feed the ducks are strictly off limits until your DH can explain his intimate duck knowledge.

triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 12:50

Good point, my equine friend, good point.

See, on a scale of chuff sizes, I feel I might be slowly degenerating, rather in the manner of mooncups let's say. It used to be a gnat's chuff, but now it's a ducks. I might be wrong but I don't think that represents an improvement

Cosmosis · 05/06/2009 12:52

It's when it gets to elephant you need to start worrying

triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 12:59

It's going to be Blue Whale if I don't curb this fixation with chocolate buttons anytime soon....

SarahAbroad · 05/06/2009 14:00

Everyone is so busy this morning! Perhaps someone could do some FAQs for the mooncup website...I can just imagine the pictures of ducks' duffs, etc.

Welcome, lizkin. I am trying to stay intentionally naive so I don't drive myself crazy with all the TTC stuff. On the other hand, as VAM says, how are you supposed to know when to do the "deed" without peeing on sticks, etc. (We've decided we're just going to go for it every night this month and see what happens. After that, I'm buying a fertility monitor.... I quite like cheggers approach...sneaky lunch date and all.

Cosmosis, fingers crossed for you (both re the period or lack thereof and the depression). I've been there before (on the Citalopram and all). For me, the worst part about the Citalopram was that I only had to look at a glass of wine and I'd get hideously drunk. Not really fair. The best part, on the other hand, was that I felt better (human) after taking it for a while.

Nocoffee, I am desperate to ask where you work but won't.... It sounds like the firm of solicitors where I was a partner (NOT equity) until the credit crunch crunched me....

triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 14:08

We're on every other night but that cos I quite fancy DP and not because I feel I have to He's a handsome fella he is

Nocoffeenoworkee · 05/06/2009 14:52

Sarah, I'm sorry to hear you got crunched, what a pain in the arse. I think it's fair to say I haven't exactly narrowed the ballpark by telling you all that profits have dipped and no-one's getting any benefits this year so I'll keep you and Cosmo guessing! Most comparable firms are giving the same message. Grim. I reckon they could be more amenable to flexible working weeks in this climate though ;-)

So who's celebrating Friday then? I certainly am. I'm currently convincing myself that OV isn't quite over and will, ergo, have a series of proper drinks tonight. And then have a weekend of bonking for England! What else can a girl do when it's raining?

Nocoffeenoworkee · 05/06/2009 14:53

PS Trigger I'm in the same smug boat

Cosmosis · 05/06/2009 14:56

It's ok *nocoffee" I've just reread your post and realised that there is no way you could work for the same firm as my dh because you mentioned bonuses. Anyone who works for the same firm as him would know there is never a chance of that, even in a good year

thanks for the good wishes sarah, it's amazing when you mention it how many other people have been in the same boat, it does make you feel less alone. Sorry you got crunched.

triggerhappybaby · 06/06/2009 13:45

Any news Cosmo?? I can't bait my breath must longer!!

skihorse · 06/06/2009 14:37

I haven't been crunched yet and thank god here in NL if they want me to piss off they have to pay. A LOT! One of the lads got a 250k kiss off!

BUT... we're still turning billion dollar profits and still firing people... the government is NOT taking a kind view on this... and former employees are sueing... it'll be interesting here!

n.b., if they offered me a cool quarter of a mill you'd not see me for dust!

Cosmosis · 06/06/2009 15:29

Sorry girls negative test, so dunno what's going on. Temp was a bit down this morning to so maybe period really is on its way.

triggerhappybaby · 06/06/2009 18:29

Sorry to hear that cosmo what a poor show.

Do you want an Eccles Cake wot I've just made?

Lizkin · 06/06/2009 21:22

Good evening girls,

Sorry, I disappeared yesterday and missed all your messages. skihorse to answer your question I'm in Utrecht, not been to Limburg yet (only been here a year and a half) but they tell me it looks just like England. I like Utrecht though, all the pretty canals but not as touristy as Amsterdam (course now I've said this on MN the tourists will doubtless be flocking in!)

Have taken note of the don't-talk-about-childbirth ban. Not another word. Will remain blissfully ignorant from now on. Do love the tight-as-a-duck theme though. Not going to ask DH what he thinks of mine (I'm worried it might put him off).

Right. I think there might still just be a chance of conceiving tonight so I'm off before it gets too late!! Said to DH today that it's not only his sperm I'm after...

Good night!

cheggers · 07/06/2009 10:06

arr trigger hope you're around when i have sad news. i'll take an eccles cake over a virtual hug any day

although saying that i'm also trying to shift a few pounds. i always wanted to be one of those 'moms' whose pregnancy was just bump and still looked good in a pair of jeans.

ski was it you who said you were low carbing??

i'm doing a sort of hybrid between slimming world and south beach. low carb most of the time but i can still occasionally have my ainsley harriot yellow flavoured cous cous and baked beans. favourite comfort food

this is the first week i've managed to be good all week - so i'll see tomorrow if it's worked.

even done an hour on the wii fit this morning so am feeling virtuous. it's amazing what you can do when you don't wake up hungover!!!

oh and good luck cos hope the news is good [unsuresmiley]

cheggers · 07/06/2009 10:08

oh and for a cool quarter of a mill - you wouldn't see me for dust either.

one of the benefits of this baby making malarky is that i CAN'T WAIT to have a year (at least) off work

skihorse · 07/06/2009 12:09

Lizkin - I can beat you, I've been here nearly 9 years and I've never been to Utrecht. Well, I've been through on the train obviously but never got off and had a look around.

It is me who's low-carbing although I don't go mad with it and I have loads of veggies. I just find the minute I put any processed carbs in my mouth my arse grows a size. I did body pump this morning, am riding this afternoon and tomorrow am doing step and balance. Phew! Should keep me out of mischief for a little... although not sure about the timing because am due to OV tomorrow - but then keeping me knackered/busy will stop me stressing!

triggerhappybaby · 08/06/2009 08:20

cheggers "...when you don't wake up hungover"

Cosmosis · 08/06/2009 10:21

Oooh trigger thanks for the eccles cake, yummy!

I now have full on period, must be something to do with testing that brings it on!

laurielou · 08/06/2009 10:33

cosmosis sorry to hear that (period not enjoyment of eccles cake).

I'm still peeing on a stick each morning (much to DP's amusement) to try & determine when I ovulate. I can't even seem to manage that right, no second line yet.

Also, should I be concerned about DP's fascination about me peeing on sticks? Is there a well known fetish for this?

Cosmosis · 08/06/2009 10:57

Ah well, at least I get to try out my mooncup. [slightlynervous]

donttrythisathome · 08/06/2009 11:02

Morning all and welcome lizkin. laurie I don't have the +ve on my pee stick yet either - last couple of months I got it around day 15, although last months was a bit confusing as never got a really strong line.

VAM the confusing CM could be that your body tried to ov, so produced the CM, then didn't ov for whatever reason, then tried again (so more CM a few days later). According to my book anyway....

Trigger lol at the hungover mornings. Despite my promises not to drink around the time of ovulation (only then, feck the rest of the time, including the 2ww) I mixed red wine, white wine and champagne at a friend's 40th saturday night. Big mistake...

I'm off to West Cork for a week on Friday. Can't wait..although going with my family so hope there won't be any bust-ups....

triggerhappybaby · 08/06/2009 11:03

Oh lord... which size did you go for??

donttrythisathome · 08/06/2009 11:06

I've been using the mooncup for 3 years and love it. But it does leak a bit so next time I'm going to try some of the tips on here for correct insertion.

Or just admit I need the ginormous baggy fango size, or fanny exercises
