Anyone feel like joining this bus??

I'm 36, TCC 1, never wanted children and now have done a complete u-turn!

TCC 1, Cycle 2, UCL 28-33ish, CD12

Yes, Trigger -

I now realise that most of what I thought I knew came from films or TV...

skihorse · 04/06/2009 15:06

Yay Liz! So glad you've popped up - I thought I was on the only one in the lowlands! Where are you? I'm down in Limburg.

Note to new members: First rule of 30s TTC'ers - "Don't talk about childbirth"

All: I'm currently having some bizarre Dickens style scenario with Ex's past, present & future popping out of the woodwork & trying to woo me. Are my barren ovaries suddenly hot property?

triggerhappybaby · 04/06/2009 15:35

Perhaps it'll be the stimulation they need to start twitching with excitement and pop an egg out!!

Nocoffeenoworkee · 04/06/2009 19:25

Evenin' all. Well work was completely non-eventful today, everyone I work with is doom and gloom as equity partner profits have fallen to the low hundreds of thousands (eveyone together: awwww) and no bonuses or payrises this year. Way I see it it's the perfect time to get knocked up, and so I have taken a whole day off tomorrow to practice being a stay at home wife. In my dreams...

Anyhoo, bless him, DH knows today is optimum GOF day and was waiting at home with flowers and a verrrry suggestive look in his eye. Love him!

cheggers · 04/06/2009 20:48

well on the flip side, i absolutely loved my job today.

no one batted an eyelid when i told them i had to disappear for a couple of hours (as i then flounced out the office to go home for a shag )

one bloke did ask me if i had anywhere nice to go to. must say i floundered a bit there .....

thought we'd buggered our timings up this month coz i'd hit ttc fatigue and wasn't charting properly. then magically all the planets lined up so to speak and knew I had to work late so it had to be then. got a parking ticket for the privilege though even though i'm a bloody permit holder! too eager to get upstairs

hi to the new girls. no one offered you a bevvy yet?

Nocoffeenoworkee · 04/06/2009 20:57

Yes, sorry new ladies, where are my manners? Are you canteloupe bellini, wine or gin and tonic?

Cheggers, you are a total role model, I bow before your audacity! Have a glass of champers.

laurielou · 05/06/2009 08:06

Morning ladies,

Welcome newbies - possibly too early for a bevvy? Ah, as is commonly said its cocktail hour somewhere.

Today was my second "pee on a stick day" to see if / when I ovulate.

lizkin you're in the right place for naivity on PG. I thought it was something to be avoided at all costs - how was I to know that its more difficult to become PG than refuse a slab a chcoclate?

skihorse how bizarre with your ex's all turning up. Have to say I'd rival Linford Christie if some of mine made a reappearance

Think this weekend or thereabouts is OV time (but not really sure) so bringing on the A Game.

Have a good day, x

laurielou · 05/06/2009 08:08

Oh, meant to also say cheggers admire your commitment to the cause & flouncing out of work for a shag - good work!

VeryAnnieMary · 05/06/2009 08:15

Hello Lizkin welcome to the cool-girls-club!

VeryAnnieMary · 05/06/2009 08:17

Cudos to cheggers for leaving work specifically to hump - excellent commitment to the cause.

skihorse - it wasn't the ex that caused you to flee the country, was it?

skihorse · 05/06/2009 08:54

VeryAnnieMary inlaws? Gin is mandatory. I actually ran out of gin last night so have to do a gin run after work today.

Yes, the whole ex's business is very odd. But no, not the one which made me do a runner - him and I actually get on OK these days - it's just I was devastated when we split up - I was in my final year at uni and I fell apart.

There was an article in the Times the other day about TTC - basically re-iterating the taking a happy care-free relationship to one which involves wanking in to pots and sex-on-a-mission. I showed it to OH who told me that he sometimes felt I only wanted him for his sperm. Which is of course complete and utter nonsense, I need him to take stuff up to the attic too!

Cosmosis · 05/06/2009 09:59

skihorse, don't forget the very important lawn mowing and removal of spiders duties.

anyhow, I may possibly have been rather ahead of myself on the old period front as I have still only had spotting and my temp hasn't gone down. So.... ?

Nocoffeenoworkee · 05/06/2009 10:06

Oooh Cosmo, could it be?? I sincerely hope so!

triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 10:06
triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 10:08

cosmo you realise of course you will have to shut the door on your way out and hand back the key

skihorse · 05/06/2009 10:13

AND THE GIN! HAND BACK THE GIN!

Nocoffeenoworkee · 05/06/2009 10:17

Bloody hell Cosmo, this seriously puts the pressure on the collective drinking, coffee, extreme sports and swearing club A game...

Cosmosis · 05/06/2009 10:44

nocoffeenoworkee sounds like you work for a very similar firm to my DH!

Anyhow, it's all a bit of a bugger actually because I went to the docs on monday and he's put me on citalopram and told us to lay off ttc for a month or two as they don't recommend being pg on citalopram.

So anyway, maybe that, and also yesterday's invitation on a skiing hoiday in March has done the trick?

triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 10:52

IN-EVITABLE!!!

I hope we're not all going to get competitive...

Cosmosis · 05/06/2009 11:00

Oh I forgot the other one, I bought a mooncup the other day too (I'm a secret hippy even though I don't look the lentil yoghurt knitting type).

triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 11:15

Looks like you might have to take it back

skihorse · 05/06/2009 11:18

I used to have a mooncup but ditched it a few months ago actually because they come in two sizes and I'd bought the "small" size years ago. But apparently after childbirth - or just being ancient (like us) we need jumbo size.

I was planning to get another post-preggo.

What's the Citalopram for Cosmosis? It might be recommended that you don't get pg whilst on it - but there are plenty of women out there on a whole combo of anti mental-illness drugs who do get pregnant. Even with such things as lithium - what's worse? Druggie-mummy or stabby-mummy?

Where are you going on your ski hols ?

Cosmosis · 05/06/2009 11:26

Yes, ski I was mightily offended that you are deemed to have a bucket fanny just because you are over 30! Is that down to the amount of sexual partners they think you'll have had at that age do you think I nearly bought the smaller one just to prove that I am still young and tight

Citalopram is for depression, have had it in the past but was on fluoxetine then. Ridiculous, I'm actually happier than I've ever been in so many ways, but depression's not really about unhappiness I suppose. A friend of mine was on it throughout her pregnancy so it can be done, but they prefer not to if possible.

Location not totally decided yet, probably 3 valleys somewhere. I'm actually a bit of a rubbish skier, I've only been twice before, but it's fun and the scenery is pretty!

triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 11:28

@ jumbo size

DP says I'm as tight as a duck's chuff.

Not really sure how tight one of those is though

triggerhappybaby · 05/06/2009 11:34

it's not another word for windsock is it??
