PS I'm off in search of bumsex now. In defence of "accidental bumsex" - a schoolfriend of mine lost her virginity to bumsex... it hurt - but it was her first time so she expected it to hurt! The cad!

Liskey · 26/04/2009 15:02

Awwwhhh cute cats Pistachio they are gorgeous!

PistachioLemon · 26/04/2009 15:40

skihorse ah, I see, I missed that programme, but I do wonder about that too, especially as I have a friend who got knocked up in the first year at uni. Her son is now 17 and she says now she wouldn't have done it any other way. I cannot imagine having a child who is nearly an adult at this stage in my life but actually the strangest thing for me is the fact that I remember his father at 17 and he is the spitting image of him. Perhaps the moral of the tale is that we need to become chain-smoking, nympho alchies and all will fall into place!

Did you find any interesting bum-sex threads yet? And Owwww to your friend losing your virginity to it, did she really not realise?

Liskey, thank you. I love them to bits (well less so when they bring lots of dead/nearly dead things home).

Skater strange to be congratulating you on your period, but congratulations! Now the circus can begin. Where was this masturbatingwife thread you mention - I definitely didn't see that one!

Jools how are you?

Hi to everyone else!

SkaterGrrrrl · 26/04/2009 22:38

The 'masturbating wife' thread is in Body & Soul > Relationships.

Hope you all had a good weekend, I have been gardening in the sunshine and have aching arms and freckles.

Cosmosis · 27/04/2009 10:55

Liskey and Pistachio gorgeous cats!

I have a tabby who is the boss of the house and a black one who is the baby of the houe and a total mummy's boy.

Also Liskey, we're quite close, I'm in Leeds

Liskey · 27/04/2009 13:24

LOL I used to work in Leeds and DH does still. I now work in York which is a rather long commute!

I think all cats think they are boss - ours certainly does!

Cosmosis · 27/04/2009 14:27

Lol, we used to live in York DH used to work in Sheffield, but now in Leeds.

donttrythisathome · 28/04/2009 15:33

Cosmo pmsl at A-game in tent! Pretend you've just met DH at a festival....gin/vodka/whiskey definitely required.

Love the masturbating wife and her DH locking up her vib - the cheek of him! Somehow lead me to reading about vibrating cock rings - may have to come into DPs "A-Game" for me!

Anyway the witch got me on Sunday - oved late due to stress I would say. Any tips on how to chill out for this TTC thing?

My friend back home reckons that the reason she's not getting BFPs is because she's not positive enough and doesn't "believe" I gave her a good talking to - why should she blame herself on top of everything else?!!

Jools what can I say? Except take it easy and be nice to yourself.

Guys, quick question... what do you generally say to cover the fact you're not drinking/drinking way less than usual?

I have several things coming up where there will be lots of hard-core drinking and it's getting harder and harder to come up with convincing excuses. I've tried saying I'm on antibiotics or that I've been ill already and I think people might not believe it again. Unfortunately I can't get out of them either as they are sort of work related and my absence will be noted and reflect badly on me.

Cosmosis · 28/04/2009 17:03

TBH while I have cut down at home, I haven't bothered to cut down for special occasions (is that spelled right, it looks funny), I figure once in a while isn't going to do that much harm.

No idea what I'll say if I ever get pg though. Ear infection is always a giveaway that a woman is pg in my opinion.

VeryAnnieMary · 28/04/2009 17:08

Some sort of crazy detox?

Or that you got really drunk the night before and can't face drinking through your hangover?

I've found that my hangovers are genuinely so bad (at my advanced age) that I really don't fancy drinking much these days anyway - though I do have a drink if I think people are going to jump to the wrong conclusion (ie in-laws) and I don't wish to discuss!

PistachioLemon · 28/04/2009 17:59

Mmmm hangover is genius - I think I will be going with that one. Thank you ladies!

donttrythisathome · 28/04/2009 18:31

Don't know if anyone would like to look at this thread but I like it.

laurielou · 28/04/2009 19:19

Think I'll use the hangover idea, nice one.

The last "outing" I had a chest infection. Then a week later I had one for real! Not so keen on that karma!

PistachioLemon · 28/04/2009 19:34

Isn't it wonderful AND it's infinitely re-useable. Love it!

Aerie · 28/04/2009 20:40

Cosmosis Re: excuses for not drinking for when we all eventually get PG , I think I'll take a leaf out of my best mate's book.

She simply said that she had problem with a recurrent UTI. This worked on so many levels..

  1. Its a bit TMI for most blokes (and some women too) so probably would be too embarrassed to enquire further
  2. Explains frequent visits to loo
  3. Isn't that uncommon compared to ear ache or tooth abscess etc which is what the typical non-drinking allowed antibiotics are prescribed for

I too have cut back on alcohol at home (not necessarily a bad thing TBH), but haven't curbed my social drinking too much. Luckily, the friends we socialize with (i.e. booze all night with) the most, have scaled back their drinking a bit as they consider themselves to drink too much so it hasn't been an issue. Who knows, maybe they are gearing up to TTC themselves

VeryAnnieMary · 29/04/2009 09:25

Yup - wish I could claim ownership of that idea, but sadly...I read it on MN somewhere. As I do all "my" best ideas...

I have the worst PMT - burst into tears for no reason on the way home last night and feel very crabby and unbalanced this morning. Even more so than usual. How's everyone else?

skihorse · 29/04/2009 09:36

Awesome! Got a 730 euro "top-up" gas/leccy bill yesterday which of course makes me feel wonderful. I have a beautician appointment tonight and I usually take painkillers because eyebrow-plucking kills me... but only have ibuprofen in my desk and don't want to risk it.

It's a bank holiday here tomorrow and I've got friday off too so looking forward to a nice long (cheap!) weekend.

PG-wise - I'm due on this week/weeekend - and if I get my period then I'm off to the docs to get told I'm too fat/old/etc.

VeryAnnieMary · 29/04/2009 09:42

Skihorse - eyebrow waxing is a good option - painful yes, but for a much briefer time. Less painful that upper lip waxing though...yes, I am yeti-woman. Actually I was reading a thread on PCOS and managed to convince myself yesterday that I had it due to being covered head to toe in soft, thick downy fur. Nice. No wonder I was crying. I really should stay away from the internet on days like this.

(Also the reason why I have no need of a cat - simply stroke own legs for similar calming effect...)

Cosmosis · 29/04/2009 09:56

Happy queensday skihorse! (did I mention I lived in Holland as a child?)

I love the hangover idea - all my friends know I am a vvv hangoverish person so that would work too. I get horrible ones. UTI one is good too, people won't want to know any more.

I'm also in the position of having to cut down / give up on my hobby when I get pg, so need to come up with an excuse for that. I think I will be pulling alot of back muscles or something

VeryAnnieMary · 29/04/2009 10:07

what's the hobby, Cosmosis?

skihorse · 29/04/2009 10:16

Cosmosis I had no idea you did!

As for the drink, despite our jokes about G&Ts - I'm not actually much of a drinker. Because of my age and increased killer death mega hangovers I'd just say that I wanted to ride/go to they gym in the morning and wanted to be level-headed.

Cosmosis · 29/04/2009 10:53

VAM I cycle, mainly mountain biking - throwing yourself down hills in the rocky north is not the best idea whilst pg I think (especially given the amount I fall off)! I'll be able to carry on road riding, but you have to be careful re heart rates etc so will have to cut down on that a bit as well.

skihorse, my dad worked for Shell so you had to do your obligatory time in The Hague.

donttrythisathome · 29/04/2009 11:01

I recommend

  1. threading for the eyebrows
  2. self-wax job for upper lip
  3. and DPs razor for everywhere else (not everywhere as such...)

Love cycling too Cosmo but only along the seafront. Was thinking of getting into off-road cycling but spoose now is not the time. DAMN another down side of TTC....

As for drink I'm just going to say I don't feel like one - let them think what they want.
