Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Clure · 03/04/2009 11:13

Hello all!

Awen hope your scan goes ok, I've not had one so can't be of any assistance but good luck anyway. Also glad to hear your poor DS eye healing up. Reading what you said about April time two years ago, it was beginnig of April that I took my first round of clomid 4 years ago and conceived DD.

Islegin and sgibbo you must be excited! fingers crossed for you both!

hi stac hoping you are ok, have you begun the provera today?

Well here's a turn up for the books- just had a phone call from consultant's secretary who said my prescription was ready to pop in the post, she said as it's second class and coming up to the weekend she offered to drop it through my letterbox on her way home. She said she drives along my road. Wasn't that nice of her. I was a bit emotional after that!

Just had a nice little run to limber up for my half marathon which is coming up on Sunday. I'm a bit concerned about beginning the provera whilst doing something so physically demanding. (depending on whether I can get to the chemist by then)
Can anyone tell me what side effects I might expect on provera?

hope everyone else is well x

stac14 · 03/04/2009 11:27

Hi Ladies how are we all today? Think our list has went a bit mad at the moment lol

Clure I started provera last night, it says on my box to take 2 per day but think that would make my progesterone levels to high since everyone else has been prescribed 10 mg. Thats nice of the secretery to drop the prescription off for you, will you start tonight? I get moody on it, like pmt and feel quite hungry don't know if anyone else get this, maybe I am just a grubber lol

Awen Wow maybe you will be getting bfp at the same time but two years later lol, I had an internal scan to see if I had pcos, its less uncomfortable than a smear test, so for us girls its a breeze lol. Glad to hear ds2 is getting better, I know what you mean about easter hols I am at a loss as to how to fulfill his time off

How is everyone else? xxx

katlokna · 03/04/2009 12:33

Hi everyone.
I am currently on Clomid which was increased to 100mg last month as the 50mg was not working. No joy so far so at starting blocks again. I am currently on CD4 but am feeling very hopeful as the blood test I had done just over a week ago conf I am ov. Look forward to us all getting BFP's soon.

amelied · 03/04/2009 14:18

Had scan, was only alittle uncomfortable and over quite quickly. Ds2 crieed throughout. The FC did it herself, she said that i have lots of follicles as you would expect with PCO but not a larger one, so looks like i am not ovulating, unless i already have which is unlikely. She is going to scan me again on Monday in case i am a late bloomer. Difficult as to where to go after that as she would ideally like me on Metformin but i am still breastfeeding and am reluctant to stop. FC supports this as does dp. He still on 3-4 a day and needs it to help sleep as well. Maybe it will mean waiting till ds2 is a bit older. Risk of taking metformin and bfing is a hypo.

hi cycle bud. Will still be doing bunny excercises this weekend despite scan, just in case.

Welcome Kat - added you to list.

stac14 · 03/04/2009 15:24

Hi Awen
Don't get down about it, you could be a late bloomer, you were for ds2. Whats dos the metformin for?

My consultant doesn't want to up my clomid from 100mg as he says it can be dangerous for people with pcos, have any of you heard of this?
Well thats the easter holidays officially started in sunnyish Scotland lol have to find cheap ways to keep a 10 and 11 year old boys amused for pretty much 2 weeks, during that time I will have af and start clomid (poor boys are nt going to like me )

Welcome to the thread Kat

sissy0928 · 03/04/2009 16:50

AWEN, you hit the nail on the head with me, I'm on every day looking at other scans, etc...I'm so excited I can't wait to see what's next!

Much luck to you with the follies, and you never know, you could have a repeat of 2 years ago, and have a surprise!!! Baby Dust!

AttilaTheMeerkat · 03/04/2009 17:05

Hi stac,

re your comment:-

"My consultant doesn't want to up my clomid from 100mg as he says it can be dangerous for people with pcos, have any of you heard of this?"

Yes I have in that clomid should be given with a degree of caution to all PCOS patients anyway. It can cause an exaggerated rise in LH levels and impede fertilisation. This is why women who are given clomid should be monitored carefully whilst on it.

With best wishes for Easter

Attila

stac14 · 03/04/2009 17:15

Thanks Atilla I'm glad he is being cautious but I asked him about scans and he said there was no need for them. I'm just worried that I could stay on 100mg with no ovulation but I have decided to give it 2 months and if I haven't ovulated then I will be asking what else can be done.

Just had a nice relaxing bath, DS was out with friends, was just watching the film ps.I love you, when he came barging in looking for grub and caught me blubbing at the film, you should have seen his face, he was so concerned until he realised I was crying at a film, so promptly told me to 'get over it' lol just thought i'd share as that made me smile xxxx

Lisylou1980 · 03/04/2009 18:15

Hi Ladies
How are we all?

Clure · 04/04/2009 12:56

hi,

Have got my prescription, it's for provera 10mg and take it for 5 days. I'm just off to chemist to now xx

stac14 · 04/04/2009 14:46

yay clure we will be cycle buddys this month lol I am on my 3rd day of provera, I also have 10mg but it says 2 per day on the box, wasn't sure what to do about that so I decided to take onein the morning and one at bedtime. Maybe mine has been prescribed at that cos my progesterone levels are very low who knows lol

Hows everyone else today?

paddington are you all organised for the move? I know its easy to say but try not to stress, it will be over and done with and you will wonder why your were worried lol

baby dust to us all Lets hope for lots of easter eggs

katlokna · 04/04/2009 16:09

Hi Paddington. I see we are close cycle wise. I'd just like to say good luck with the move and let you know what my mother in law told me; New house, new baby. Not sure how much truth there is in that but my DS was conceived about 3 and a half months after we moved into our new house. I was also on Clomid for him and was lucky as I fell pg on the first cycle.

mummycat1 · 04/04/2009 17:56

Awen You could still ov. What size were your follicles at? Fingers crossed for your next scan.

Paddington Moving house is exciting. Think of all the positives. Good luck.

Clure I'm so pleased that you have the Provera and that things are starting to happen for you at last.

Hello to everyone else.

I'm just drifting along nicely without the clo. Going to Poland on Thursday for a week so busy organising stuff and really looking forward to it. I will be taking some OPKs with me even though I'm sure that Attilla wouldn't approve. They work fine for me.

paddington21 · 04/04/2009 18:09

Hey katlokna fingers crossed for us cycle buddies this month! I love your mother in law's words and your story made me smile.

Am reasonably organised still one room to pack. Trying hard not to stress DP is doing all the hard work anyway im just going to be making it look lovely! Moving is so exciting and hopefully all being well it will the perfect love nest!Xmas Wink

mummycat have a brilliant time in Poland.. OPKS well they worked for me last month matched the blood test result so fingers crossed.

stac hope the provera is doing the trick!

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying the sunny spells

Clure · 04/04/2009 18:26

Hi all

Have just taken my first provera tablet! Good to be taking that first step on the ladder

Few girlies went out last night to a friends house for a girlie night and I had a couple too many wine's. I meant only to have 3 max as this is my race weekend. Damn! Can't say no to a glass!

DH now cooking big scoff, carb loading for my half marathon tomorrow, feel bit nervous now!

Does anyone use the OPK (who is not a PCOS sufferer) and are they successful?

stac would be great to have a cycle buddy, how long after taking the provera is it usual to see AF?

mummycat thanks for your kind words. Have a fab holiday

paddington hope that packing going ok

Hope all you ladies are good x

islegrin · 04/04/2009 21:53

Excited for you Clure - finally able to get started on provera! Hope all goes well.
