Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Hi Paddington,
Took tablet one yesterday so i'm on CD 5 today, you started yours yesterday too didnt you??? Fingers crossed for this month

paddington21 · 01/04/2009 17:35

*clure I had noresthistrone before i was given provera.

lisylou hurrah we are cycle buddies just er.. your a little ahead but not!
Fingers crossed hun!

stac14 · 01/04/2009 17:43

Hi paddington How did you get your gp to change you to provera? Do you still take it? I worked out that with taking the norethisterone I actually have a 50 day cycle, but I am going to phone my consultant back tomorrow, asked my gp to give me the 10mg for 5 days he says he has to wait to get letter from consultant (bloody men!!!)

Hi clure Did the GP get back to you? or did you manage to speak to your consultant?

Hi Awen How are you? Hows DS2? Hope he is better. Just wandered how long your cycles are as you need to take provera?

Think I am just fed up with it all being so long and drawn out, thats the other reason I wanted to ovulate this month as af would come itself
Soz for moaning girls XXXX

Clure · 01/04/2009 18:24

stac you sound as frustrated as me! i'm so fed up with being passed from pillar to post! I sent a very wordy email to consultants secretary - she must have thought "gawd we've got a right one ere" I just needed to outline my case hoping she can pass it to consultant. I'm so not good speaking on the phone. no email reply, just got to check my answerphone messages. good thing i'm not teaching tomorrow so will try ringing. hope you ok

hi paddington did you prefer provera or northisterone?

hope all you ladies are good.
i'm off for a short run (get it out of my system

paddington21 · 01/04/2009 21:20

Hi all.

Clure provera was much more efficient for me on the 10mg one a day for five days. Came on quickly and painlessly.

Stac would be inclined to do as clure write a letter- your well within your rights to.
I didnt have a problem with northisterone- I didnt feel I had a proper bleed in terms of days- bit long and (TMI pre-warning) colour. I dont know what the difference is but I told my fertility consultant she prescribed provera. Once your sorted maybe say to the consultant/gp to get the provera noted on your file as repeat prescription because if you do need it again-fingers crossed never! You wont have to faf about you can just give the letter to the pharmacist and you get it immediately.

Please dont feel bad about moaning were all here to listen and rant and rave. Sorry for mammouth post!

paddington21 · 01/04/2009 21:24

Ooh forgot to add stac this is my first AF without provera. Not sure how long my cycles were without it as I dont have AF's at all without some kind of intervention- provera or clomid.

stac14 · 01/04/2009 22:30

Hi paddington
I am going to phone the consultant tomorrow think I need a plan to see how to get a more realistic cycle lol thanks for the info.

How is everyone else tonight? xxx

paddington21 · 02/04/2009 10:52

Sounds a good idea to me stac see what the consultant says he/she hopefully can sort things out.

how is everyone else doing this fine morning?

Ooh quick question i've had no side effects so far on my 2nd cycle of clomid i felt utter cr** this time last month.

xxx

stac14 · 02/04/2009 11:32

Hey girls

I spoke to the consultant and she is phoning my GP to get him to prescribe provera for 5 days yay so I should be back on the clomid for next week woohoo I am far happier than I was yesterday. Unfortunately because they are trying to cover all angles to see if I have ovulated I will still have a cycle that lasts about 42 days but its better than 50 lol

Clure did you have any joy with your consultant? Mine was off but I spoke to his partner, I decided I wasnt being out off till Monday as this is driving me insane lol

Paddington I have been weepy and crappy on both my cycles of clomid but I have been relating it to the progesterone, the doc says it is normal to feel a bit down but symptoms should ease the more you take it, lets hope we dont have to take it too often. I also take mine at night which I have found lessens my side effects. Hope you feel better soon

Clure · 02/04/2009 13:22

AAAAAAArh! very frustrated. Have just left another message with my consultant's secretary in the hope she will ring me back. I can't believe that a GP can't prescribe something which is obviously available because its not "on their system"
stac glad you got your provera at last! I'm really kicking myself now that I didn't take the prescription for the progesterone when the consultant offered it

paddington good to hear you've no side effects this month. On the one cycle I took last time I can't remember having any side effects.

hope all is well with the rest of you. x

stac14 · 02/04/2009 13:35

Aww clure you sound so fed up chick, the gp must know what your talking about, and as far as I can make out from what the consultant said today it doesn't matter if you take the 5, 7 or 10 day course it all does the same thing, I just wanted the one that only take 5 days as my cycle is so long already, have you tried phoning the GP back to see if they have head from your consultant? Or maybe even speak to someone else in the consultants office, thats what I did today and she was phoning my gp for me. Hope you get the help need chick, let me know how you get on xxx

Hi Ladies, I just wanted to check on everyone and update you as well...had my scan yesterday, not much to see of course, but we could see a tiny flicker of a heart beating, I feel like I can officially be happy and know it's real! Will just cross my fingers that this baby sticks!

I hope you are all very well and Baby Dust to all!

stac14 · 02/04/2009 18:56

Hiya ladies
Picked up my prescription but I am a bit confused, as it is for 10mg Provera two tablets per day, whats everyone elses dosage on this?

Hi sissy soo pleased for you, keeping fingers crossed for a sticky one for you, please keep us posted. How many weeks are you?
XXX

paddington21 · 02/04/2009 19:54

Hi everyone glad were getting some good news! were people's Af's longer on clomid/ Im on day 4 (clomid day 3) and Ive had 5/6 day ones in the past but I dont feel its going to that short this time.
sounds terrible and negative but I am just waiting for another bumpy ride this month... I know its silly.

sissy congrats on your scan!
stac pretty sure mine was just one day 10mg for 5 or 7 days. All does the same thing I imagine. Least you have the provera now.
clure hurrah! fingers corssed the postman brings you tablets tomorrow.

hope to all xxx

Lisylou1980 · 02/04/2009 20:08

Hiya just to update i am on cd 6

sissy0928 · 02/04/2009 21:32

Thank you Paddington and Stac! I am 6 weeks and 2 days today! Fingers crossed for everyone!!

Clure · 02/04/2009 22:17

congratulations to you sissy, lovely to hear your progress

stac and paddington hi, not sure what I'm getting. GP did a print out of the letter they recieved from consultant and all it said was 10mg of progesterone for 5 days - I would imagine its provera. stac did you only take one tablet a day previously?

The other thing I read on the letter is a bit worrying is stating that my "FSH and LF levels have come back as high "but in reverse order to what you get with PCO - this may well be due to premature menopause, but these levels need repeat testing before this assumption can be made" [hmmm]

I suppose I'd better get on with it then!!!

Clure · 02/04/2009 22:18

sorry that should read FSH and LH levels
