Hi just wondered if people ttc on Clomid wanted to join this thread unless i have been stupid and missed one.

We are due to fertility clinic on 22nd and expect to go on clomid again.

We have 2 dc. Ds1 is nearly 9 and was concieved without fertility help. THis was a big surprise as have PCOS and was told would never conceive naturally.

Ds2 was conceived after 1 course of clomid 50mg. My day 21 test was awful and still no period after 45ish day. Was put on progesterone to induce bleed. Didnt happen as was pregnant.

Was also on metformin but not currently, waiting for all clear next week. I have dodgy lft generally on medication and also bfing.

Ds2 is 1 now and still breastfeeding. Hoping this will not hinder any treatment as really want to continue this too. I am now 33 so fertility decreasing too.

I dont have a cd currently as all up the shoot so waiting to see what happens really.

Hello Ladies, just had a chat with the FC and feeling much brighter. As all my signs are good on Clomid I will be able to see the consultant after I have had my 6 months worth and then I will probably be allowed to have a few more trys. Apparently the negative side effects of Clo are negated by a successful pregnancy. So that takes the pressure off as we only have two months left (May and June).

Talked about IVF. As we are self-funded we have to research where we want to go to - here or abroad and then look at their success rates and prices etc. We then get referred via our NHS FC. She is posting a form out to us so that we can get on a list!

So who knows - maybe it will happen one day...

I also had a good chat with my mum last night. She was really understanding.

Also spoken to two other friends in RL and they are being supportive which just makes me feel so much better.

Hi Ladies,

AmelieD & lisylou I have been feeling the same way wiht clomid, but I also feel hungry all the time, not good for me either as I have struggled to lose 2st already. I have pcos and an underactive thyroid so know how you feel amelie, it's so difficult to shift. DP says he cant see any difference but I feel bloated so who knows, diet class here I come lol

Went to see consultant today, he was really nice but basically I have to take the progesterone to induce a bleed otherwise I wont get one (unless I ovulate) also no cd 10 scans as he says theres no need and last but not least he wants to keep me on 100mg clomid as any higher can cause problems with pcos, so basically have to keep doing what we are doing and hope for the best, if nothing happens by August we will discuss it them oh well lol CD 35 bloods on Wednesday then back on progesterone

paddington21 · 30/03/2009 16:25

Hi girls well you never guessed what came early this morning! the dreaded AF! Am totally gutted but hey least I know where I am and we can start again have excellent feelings about April ladies!
Am just about to test just incase as can have periods and pregnancy... though in my case one is doubtful.

Cant say I have weight side effects but definitely weird dreams.

paddington21 · 30/03/2009 16:34

sgibbo · 30/03/2009 17:01

Paddington21 sorry AF showed, don't be too down, at least you know you can start trying again, I always find it worse when you don't know and you can't do anything else. xxx hugs to you

sissy0928 · 30/03/2009 18:05

Congrats to Ray and Mizzie!!! YEAY!!! So far so good here, took the week off last week to spend break with DD, it was nice and relaxing. Still haven't told a whole lot of people in RL...going in for a scan on Weds so we'll see that everything's how it's supposed to be...other than my boobs killling me, no other signs. The heaviness and cramping went away last week....just bloated now...got brave and bought "What to Expect..." Just scared with my age and all....and tired of those we do tell asking right off the bat, "Are you going to get married?" We will when the time is right!

sissy0928 · 30/03/2009 18:07

Oops! Clicked too fast. Hope it's ok I pop on here and there still, want to keep up on everyone and see all of you graduate!!

Clure Did you get a docs appointment for your provera? I should be back on progesterone by Wednesday maybe we will be cycle buddies this time

Lisylou1980 · 30/03/2009 19:07

Awww paddington really sorry the dreaded AF appeared, i no how you feel!
AF been a very short one indeed this time sat - today normally it lasts a week!!!! ah well month off seems strange not taking the clomid.

MamaMaiasaura · 30/03/2009 21:32

sissy - please do keep us updated

Paddington sorry af got you.

Havent read through yet properly had really bad day, ended up in casulaty with ds2 as he split his face and black eye on the plant pot in garden was horrid, poor boy. He not very settled so not stopping by long.

Got scan on Friday to see if any eggs coming (we all want easter eggs!), so keeping fingers crossed. Do i need to drink loads of water for the scan? Does it matter it will be cd12? Sorry for questions abut first scan on the clomid.

Hugs to you all and lots of baby dust (and eater egg wishes)

sgibbo · 31/03/2009 09:09

Awen, if it is the same scans as what i have had they are called internal scans and you don't need to drink any water at all. They usually do scans from CD9 onwards just depends on when the hospital can fit them in. I was very nervous before my first one but they are over so quickly that you don't realise that they have finished.

beanieb · 31/03/2009 12:08

Hi there. May I please join and ask some questions?

I have just got back from the IVF people and they have prescribed me Clomid (50mg) for my next cycle, after an HSG which said my tubes were clear. They say I have unexplained infertility and the clomid will 'help you along'.

Please can someone tell me what to expect, will I start losing my hair?

stac14 · 31/03/2009 12:18

Hi beanieb
Welcome to the thread. What makes you think you will lose your hair? I am currently taking 100mg clomid which I take cd 2 - 6 and I take it in the evening as this reduces side effects (think because you sleep through them) The only things I have experienced with clomid are mood swings, hot flushes and some head aches, different people go through different things. I definately haven't lost any hair although it seems much greasier than usual. Hope this helps xxxx

beanieb · 31/03/2009 13:05

on my instructions it says it can cause thining of the hair

sgibbo · 31/03/2009 13:20

Hi Beanieb I've had a few side effects but haven't lost my hair, i too have had mood swings but have also had sore boobs, nothing else apart from that. I have had 8 cycles with clomid and haven't noticed any hair thining either

stac14 · 31/03/2009 13:54

Hi beanieb
I wouldn't worry too much about thinning hair, I honestly haven't lost any, I'm sure you will be fine in that sense xxx

islegrin · 31/03/2009 18:42

Hello all,

I'm new here as well, and I have a question: Since the Clomid helps produce multiple fols - what happens to fols that aren't the "lead"? Do they still produce an egg or do they just wither inside the ovary? If multiple eggs are released does it occur at the same time or are they staggered.

Just wondering...
Thanks!

Clure · 31/03/2009 19:11

Hi all welcome to beanieb and islegrin sorry islegrin I cant' help you on that one but sure someone here can! Beanieb I had one cycle of clomid 4 years ago and didn't have any side effects

stac need to ask you about provera, sorry you prob already told me this, what dosage are you on and do you take it as a tablet? I've been to see GP (it was a locum with an accent so strong it was difficult to understand him. Basically he called up the letter from my consultant to see medication he'd suggested for progesterone. It stated 10mg for 5 days. But the GP said he couldn't find that on his computer (they have a drop down bar with various medications on) NOW I've got to try to get in touch with consultant so he can clarify this. and frustrated!!

Sorry for rant!

paddington21 · 31/03/2009 19:23

clure when i took provera i had 10mg for 5 days one a day and as a tablet. had no side effects at all.

Day one clomid cycle 2 day 2!
Easter eggs!

Had bad periodness today and got way too emotional/cross about finding the "right" new home cards... move house next fri but determined not to be stressed about it!
Got a week off now so going to spend money and chill out now!

Hope all are ok.

Hugs to everyone as your being amazing!

Lisylou1980 · 31/03/2009 20:33

Hi all
Hope your all ok?
Made the decision today not to have a month off, so this month gonna do days 4-8 will it make a difference changing the days as gyny said to do days 2-6. i decided to go back on as a bit worried that if i dont take them then i might not come on which means gotta go to consultant to get it sorted.
xx

Clure · 31/03/2009 21:01

thanks paddington hope your move goes ok, hope it not too stressful

paddington21 · 31/03/2009 23:03

Aw good for you lisy 4-8. On the up side least you wont have to go to the consultant and faf about. My consultant isnt the problem just trying to see my own doctor then i find out she left!
when do you start taking it? Are you going to be my waiting buddy again??
(sorry ramble)

Thank you clure im sure it will be fine am so definite about not getting stressed. if anything its going to be exciting! letting my DP do all of that for me!

xx

stac14 · 31/03/2009 23:06

Hey clure
The progesterone I get is called norethisterone and I take 3 tablets a day for 10 days, that may be what your gp has to offer, I must ask my gp if I can get the 1 a day tab for 5 days lol, dont know if this helps, think Awen gets the meds your talking about.
